Bethany sends such a whiney passive aggressive letter as a Grey Warden that I am so close to just killing her off every time in the future. She's super boring as a Circle Mage, I thought this would be better. :/ Guess there is more to see yet with a Warden Bethany. I said, that Grey Warden Bethany not too fun... As Circle Mage, she grows more, as Warden just becomes grumpy. (But why people wants to kill anyone just because s/he's boring? Also, Blackwall's biggest sin is boredom in many people's eyes.) I think Blackwall's stuff is super dramatic and interesting- my first PT I broke up with him about it but I also had a Quiz who gave him a second chance. He also believes in heros- and redemption for all but himself- so strongly he practically vibrates with it. Bethany's reaction to being forced into the Circle is a shrug and the statement, "It was inevitable." And if she'd been put in any other circle but Kirkwall, she would have happily accepted her fate and life there. <- wtf. The fact that she rails against it end game is common sense, no particular rebellious spirit. And where the Grey Wardens polished Carver into a man, they seem to have made her into a bitter whiney cow. "I survived. That's what you wanted , isn't it?" Excuse me, little sister, but I don't recall you embracing a tainted death or pushing me away so I couldn't take you to the Wardens. She acts like she had no decision making power. So yes, in her case, she'd be happier dead- like Conner and Bartrand except old enough and sane enough to make that decision for herself.

Do not get me wrong, I like Blackwall, I spoke about "the people". Just see him on the popular list, and read the reasons. To be honest, Carver also blames Hawke, because this decision again wasn't his decision... (Act 3, Grece-scene, when Hawke freed him), nevertheless, that he was who insisted to Deep Road expedition. Yes, Bethany accepts her fate in the Circle (if didn't report herself), because cares about, that she is a burden, and hates to flee. Yes, you can say, that this is annoying, martyr behavior, and seems she is ungrateful, that his family tried to protect her... matter of interpretation. I like her, at the beginning and the end, when finally told, that she hated the captivity, but I don't like her "martyrdom".

I've gone back in Inaras playthrough a bit and changed the romance from Josie into Cullen. I really like Josie but it didn't felt right, maybe I'll try again with Aylin. Plus I have to do the Cullen romance at some point to get over my Cullen aversion, I had for two games. I couldn't stand that character in DAO or DA2, but I found him surprisingly well written in DAI, so I had to give him a chance, as a form of apology. And Sera fits better with my dwarf. This means, that I have to do Demands of teh Qun again (and of course I'll save the Chargers again, I love that group, especially Krem and Dalish - oh and the dwarf, who accidently smashed the shaperate or set it on fire )

Didn't get much done last night (except taking down the Ferelden Frostback!). I completed all the astrariums in Crestwood (I don't know why I like those things, but I do). Then it was back to Skyhold to complete the 'march' for Sera and her friends. Which, of course, inevitably leads me to this asshat Sera wasn't overly impressed that I didn't kill him, but she did like that I requisitioned his land and titles, so we had a good chat about it afterwards Doing the Sera romance in this playthrough *drinks*, so will be interesting to see how it all plays out. She is easily one of my two favourite DA companions (behind only Isabela) and she's been my bud (or little sister) in every playthrough so far.

This is my fifth playthrough and I've yet to do them all with one character. Some of the early codex entries I don't bother to read anymore, so it might be in there. Or if not, it might be revealed by doing them all in a single playthrough. I usually do the shards as well, but not this time.

And there we go . Although - and I'm not suggesting this is the case here, but - we know that codices in DA have been wrong before as they are written "in universe" and as such, subject to errors and bias from the authors.

Did In Hushed Whispers with Cassandra, Sera, and our new friend Dorian. Recruited the mages into the Inquisition as allies after Queen Anora tossed them out of Fereldan Ferelden.
I recruited the healer in Redcliffe to help out at the Hinterlands. Then I finished the rest of the Corporal Vale quests and did other stuff in the Hinterlands with a few different companions.
Ended up at Redcliffe Farms, talked to Horsemaster Dennet and found out the conditions he had for joining the Inquisition. Acquired a mount and did a bid of racing, and cleared a rift and explored some caves in the area. Will help out Bron and Elaina next time.

I must say, I'm really happy with Circle Bethany. She is the more easygoing of the two siblings and that can make her seem a bit bland sometimes, but with so many crazy people running around in Kirkwall (I don't exclude most of my Hawkes), she is a fresh breeze of sanity Plus I have to do the Cullen romance at some point to get over my Cullen aversion, I had for two games. I couldn't stand that character in DAO or DA2, but I found him surprisingly well written in DAI, so I had to give him a chance, as a form of apology. Bethany is a good character, and it would have been great to see her in DAI as well. You are right: she's great because of her sanity, but perhaps it is her sanity which makes her a bit less memorable than the other DA2 characters, who are all "barking mad" or "batshit crazy" I actually like Cullen the most in DA2. He is so cute when he starts to have second thoughts about what he (and the Knight-Commander) is doing. I also liked his voice the most in DA2 - it had a soft and somehow dreamy texture which was largely lost in DAI. I like to have my blonde men with that tortured look and with a double serving of melancholy. Otherwise I don't really care all that much about them

Otherwise I don't really care all that much about them She is quite memorable at the end, at Gallows as Circle Mage. She is a revolutioner... But how you wants to see her in DAI? As Warden? Instead Alistair/Stroud/Loghain? What a pretty evil idea! In DA2 Cullen was a much more dark character. I liked the dialogues with him, he shows some flexibility, but still wasn't able to leave fear, and this makes him negative character. Until the end. At Gallows he's standpoint finally changed a bit. He was able to let Hawke and his team go –included Anders–, and later left the Order. This was, what made him acceptable, and honorable. It can be difficult to leave the prejudices.

In DA2 he realised very late, what was wrong with Meredith, when nearly everyone else was already seeing it. I do like him in DAI though. Does anyone know if that elf patrol in the Exalted Plains vanishes, once you talked to the keeper? I need still a few points favor with the Dalish to make that elf an agent and I don't want to have herded the Golden Halla back for nothing. If I could tell the keeper about teh patrol, that would be enough, but I can't find them

If I could tell the keeper about teh patrol, that would be enough, but I can't find them I'm pretty sure they disappear once you make contact with the clan. Also, if you are an elf, you don't get brownie points for relaying the message.

That's too bad, now I have to wait until the Emerald Grave and the ruins there to get the rest o the favor points

Back to the Hinterlands with Blackwall, Solas, and Sera. We marked 3 watchtower sites for Bron and killed some bandits.
Checked in with Corporal Vale at the Crossroads, who thanked us for the help provided to the refugees, and offered their services to the Inquisition. Told him to have them spread word of the Inquisition's good deeds - some good PR never hurts.
Will deal with the wolves for Elaina next.

I wrote an RP post of my Ashara character over in the Dragon Age Role-play section. That took me over two hours. she is a hardened battle gal who has super rusty social skills cuz she's a loner. And she's based on my Mahariel Warden from DAO.

Inara wnet to Emprise du Lion to fight red templars and a demon called Imshael. So far she destroyed a lot of red lyrium, so that Varric can sleep at night, found some warden relics for Blackwall and hunted down dangerous apostates for Cassandra. Next stop is Imshaels hiedeout, but that will have to wait a few days, I'm saying good-bye for the weekend, the con is about to start and I will be there the next few days. Have fun
