Well I think I hit ME burnout since the last three months between the trilogy and MEA that is all I have been playing. Strangely all these comparisons of MEA with DAI are making me want to play DAI again. Well, in my case casual Ryder pushed me to play DA2 Tho tbh, DA2 was whispering into my ear "play me, plaaaaaay meeeeee~~" for quite a while.

Though, gotta say, that moment when you walk into Val Royeux and that noble woman flinches and screams is downright friggen hilarious as a Qunari because it's so realistic to most people's reactions to the Qunari. My first PT, I was a human mage female and found it a bit odd rather than accurate. Dalish folks can make people afraid due to the human/elven clashes, but as a reaction to a human or dwarf, you think the lady is just a bit too sensitive. Not everyone has nerves of steel. Going by how the nobles and citizens of Orleis behaved, I'd fully expect 90% of the noble ladies and lords to jump onto the tables when they see a rat coming.

Decided to squint and suffer to play DAO So, my first PT of DAO, O was this dogooder who used Persuade yo get people to do the right thing. 2nd PT, my nympho Cousland used Persuade to get what she wanted- and she wanted your bod. 3rd PT, my Surana used intimidation- she was a mage and she would fry you if you didn't give in. This is a Brosca. She's a bit dumb, uses Persuade as little as possible, and totally steals without a blink. If they try to kill her,she will kill them back (poor Zevran) She just robbed that unconscious elf in the Brecilian Forest, and decided to achieve the Gheyna Cammen love story with the white lie of a wolf pet from her inventory. It actually reflects pretty poorly on Cammen that he is so very maleable to the Warden's morals. Wonder if Gheyna is better without him. Man, the camp music gives me some nostalgia- Haven't played the game since December and even then it was just a bit. Reminds me of the epic first time I ever played.

phoray, trying to add more miseries to the list of body aches? You no little naughty girl. I just have to have me some Dragon Age once a month I didn't play long enough to get a headache, did stop short. Didn't miss the injury kits, that is one improvement in DAI I appreciate. Although, it's amusing to me how I have to force myself to "play badly" when Persuade just gives you everything you want.

More adventures of the Dashing Dalish Rogue (with questionable morales).
So we went and found that damn Shemlen relic. The place was run by crazy dragon cultists. Note the was. Barkspawn was almost eaten by an high dragon too, poor puppy. I got a bit of the old dead lady ashes and went to save the Arl. Now that he is better he wants to put Alistair on the throne. I told him that was bad idea, but seems like nobody is listening to me. I'm an elf, not too surprising. He didn't seems to take too badly that his son was dead though.
Then Alistair told me he had an half-sister in Denerim. It was a bit of a waste of time to go meet her. That one has no sense of family.
I had enough of Shemlen stupidity for now, so I went to try to find my kind in the Brecilian forest. First thing I'm told about the place: it is haunted. Charming. Turns out there wasn't just spirits there. There are werewolves too and my Dalish brethren can't help me unless I help them. That sound familiar. I spent some time talking with the other Dalish and learning a few stuff about my dad. Then that I went into the forest. After fighting against the forest it self, killing lots of things that didn't look quite normal and talking to an old Oak, I made it to a ruins that seems to be the werewolves lair. The Keeper said that if a specific wolf could be killed than the curses would be lifted. I hope he's right, the place is overrun by spirits, not just furry beasts. It's an interesting places though, I wish I could study it longer.
--- Interesting things. The Temple of Sacred ashes mostly has a winged statue (aka Mythal) in it outside the Chantry/Tevinter stuff, while the Nature of the Beast ruin has statues that in the Dalish camp are associated to Andruil and Sylaise...and Ghilan'nain, but that statue is like the other statue without the head and hands (which I find super weird, might be trying to hint at something).

Well yesterday I made a male sword and board Trevelyan and played through the prologue and then I fired up DAO and played the city elf origin with a male dw rogue and then I went back into DAI talked with everyone in Haven and started running around the Hinterlands. I really don't know what to do with myself right now. Even popped in Skyrim SE and downloaded a mod for Dragon Age weapons.

Slowly finishing DA2. It's always the same. Once I get to Act 3, I visibly slow down. I just feel the end coming... On another note: one of Gamlen's best moments. Seriously, he's not that bad! Thanks to him Hawke's not black sheep of the family

I'm back from the convetnion. It was a great weekend and I saw a lot of good friends again. Pics will come later, when I can find the USB cable for my mobile, with which I took the photos. There where some realyl great Dragon Age cosplays around. I saw a Solas (Trespasser version) and Lavellan (with the Dalish rogue armor), Fenris, Dorian, Hawke, Morrigan. I haven't been able to take pictures from all of them, but I have some of Solas & Lavellan and Hawke. I was very happy with my Steampunk costume, which was really comfortable for once. My Lady Stark was a bit warm in times, but I like her so much. The last costume I had with me was Tonks from Harry Potter, thats a fun cosplay. There was a costume contest (I didn't participate, because I don't standing on a stage in front of so many people), where a lot of really great costumes where shown. My favorite was a Beetlejuice group. There where some game characters too, but mostly the Witcher (two Ciris and two of a character named Henrietta? I'm not that familiar with TW) and one of Skyrim (an member of the assassins guild). I did a workshop for medieval dancing with a friend of mine - that was really fun, even with the heavy steampunk dresses (I didn't envy the Hobbits either, the had no shoes and where always in danger to get jumped on their feet). There where actors from different shows like Sherlock, Game of Thrones, Once upon a time, Vampire Diaries, The Hobbit, Black Sails, Outlander and Harry Potter. My favorites where Andrew Scott (Moriaty in Sherlock), wha was a real nice and shy person, who ansered questiones very thoughtful and deep. And Tom Wlashiha (Jaquen from Game of Thrones) who was extreemly funny. He is at conventions often, but this was the first one in his homeland Germany. I was at a lecture about the books, the Witcher games are based on and they sounded fun. I might not ever play the game (or maybe I will after reading the books, it seems that Geralt has exactly my kind of humour), but I will definitevly read the books. Also the lecturer explained to us, why you will never be able to draw a sword attached to your back (she is a gamer too and said, that most games did it wrong). The only thing possible are short swords. In the witcher books, Geralt has his swords on his back too, but he uses some kind of mechanism on his sword belt to draw it. How he gets it back into the sheath again remains a mystery though To sum it up: I had a lot of fun and am a bit sad, that it ended so quickly. deadlydwarfThe con was in Bonn, which is not that far from where I live. I had an hour drive. I just read about domi and I'm sorry too (maybe she reads our comments and comes back). She as always fun to discuss with and she seldom took anything personal or the wrong way which one doesn't find often. I was over at the MEA board a few times and it's a snake pit at the moment, which is kind of normal I guess with new games. Many new people appear and not all of them are nice. I don't expect the DA board anything better when DA4 is released. I just read the comments over there, because I'm interested in the game and will play it one day (probably when the patches are through). I did write something once or twice there, but not much.

Obsidian Gryphon and deadlydwarfHere are the promised pics from the convention: Me as Lady Stark with a friend as Littlefinger Our Steampunk costumes (I'm the smaller one - sadly, I haven't a good pic of my goggles) Solas and Lavellan (sadly you can't see her great Vallaslin very well) Hawke (the lighting wasn't that great, sorry, the costume was so great) Brienne of Tharth and Podrick - beside Solas and Lavellan they where my absolute favorites. She just looks so great as Brienne (plus Brienne is one of my favorite characters from book and show, so I'm fangirling just now) Daryl Dixon and Negan (Negan made his 'Lucille' himself to avoid problems with a real baseball bat - it looked really convincing, even from close) Molly Weasley - I just squeaked, when I saw it, plus the needles knitted themselves - it was a really wow moment. I should have made a video of that) Sadly that was all the pics. I had made some of some really cool Transformers (one of them over 2 metres high) who had a lot of gadgets, but they turned out blurry.

The Dalish Rogue continue her adventures in Ferelden undergrounds. Finally made it to that Witherfang and was told the Keeper lied to me. Then left to ask "what's what" to the Keeper and I was told the "spirit" lied to me. Why is everyone lying to me!!!! Anyway, I ended up choosing the clan over Zatharian and lifted the curse. His clan accepted to honored the treaties so now I'm going to have Dalish friends supporting me and not just Shems. I left my newly recruited Dalish bethren to go do some errands, including dealing with Leliana and Wynne pasts. Once that was done, I went to Orzammar, the Dwarven kingdom. Kinda annoying that everyone in there think of me as a surfacer that worship the the Maker. *sigh* I meet a very enthusiastic dwarf called Dagna who wanted to study at the Circle Tower, luckily for her there was also a lyrium smuggler who wanted me to do some delivery there. So yeah, more errands to do, but the lyrium deal was nice. Unfortunately, the rest of the Dwarf aren't that fun, they are on the brink of a civil war that it appears I'm going to have to fix (again) by double crossing everyone. I wonder how much money I can make out of this, but for now I got a Proving to win. I Dagna...

DA2 run - done! Finished all side quests, including the one where Hawke - once again - embaces her "luck". Hmnmn... Definitely special kind of "luck". Emotional moment! And... staff stealing the spotlight. I'll never admit this made me laugh like madwoman. I'm serious adult, I swear. Besides, it's not the first time you saw it, get a grip, woman! Aveline's too eager to fight it seems. That's what you get for not having her in a party, Hawke....and by accident I got myself new wallpaper. Good, I was looking for something DA2-related I'll most likely start another run in near future, but first I need to dig the net in search of some DAO saves. I don't have mine and no way I'm playing it again just for save.

Did In Your Heart Shall Burn over the weekend. Closed the Breach, but during the celebrations afterwards the Red Templars, led by “Coryphellus” (copyright Sera), attacked Haven. Cassandra, Solas, Sera, and the Herald held them off while Cullen rallied the defences. I managed to save all of the NPCs this time, which I was happy about (on my first playthrough I didn't reach poor Flissa in time.)
With Haven destroyed The Inquisition relocated to Skyhold, and in a ceremony so solemn and formal she wore her finest beige pyjamas, Hazel Trevelyan was named Inquisitor. She downplayed the religious aspects and promised that the Inquisition would do what was right for the people of Thedas.
I spent quite a bit of time exploring Skyhold, talking to everyone, etc. Recruited Dagna, sentenced Alexius to research magic, and met with Hawke.
Then it was off to Crestwood with Blackwall, Solas, and Sera to investigate reports that the town was being attacked by undead. We defended the town from the attacks, and took back the keep at Caer Bronach from the bandits that occupied it. The rift that the undead were coming from was in Old Crestwood, flooded by the darkspawn during the last blight, so we activated the dam controls to drain the lake and get access. Next session, we'll head to Old Crestwood to deal with the rift.

I'm thinking about whether to spare or kill Zevran in my next run. I'm leaning towards killing him because my character will actually pay attention when it is mentioned that he is part of "an order of assassins", so it would be irresponsible to let him go and take more lives.
Thing is, I'm not sure if a Dalish elf would know what the word "assassin" means.

(Though a Dalish would think nothing of killing a human assassin.) A dwarf commoner from Dust Town might be inclined to kill him. For all other Origins, it's easy to kill in the heat of a fight, but rather cold-blooded to execute someone by cutting their throat. Note Alistair's first inclination is to kill him, but when you tell him "okay, you do it", he naturally backs down. It'll come down to whatever background details you head canon about your PC.
