Apparently, killing the prisoner gets you access to "special goods" from the quartermaster. Not special enough to kill for specifically but still neat. And the elven runner. Tell him he's in trouble and go along with his assumptions and he'll give you a sword. That all said. I have to start over. My psychopathic Vex Hawke started a bad habit of being mean and evil to everyone and that's not the goal of this Warden

DescendingUsually I hear the Sha-Brytol make some weird noises that sorta sound like some animal. This time I noticed one of the Sha-Brytol yelling "Aaah! Uugh!".

Gilli, thanks for the reaver tip, I'll fiddle around with his tactics next time I boot it up. As for when does Josie's romance lock in perma, been ages since I've done hers, only once if I recall. I think it's after the last quest for Josie, an Unexpected Engagement, when you gotta duel and then declare dem feels. Starts to lock when you do Heraldry from a Herald, I think. I'm okay with being corrected on this. My first Inky was a real scamp, who flirted with most of the Inquisition just to see what happens, having to let down Josie was one of the worst scenes I had to experience in DAI, like punching a kitten, felt like sh*t. Never again, my curiosity has been sated.

I allowed my Dalish hunter to be more than passive aggressive with Vivienne. He usually never brings her on ANY missions. But he decided to bring her along to the Hinterlands....with an outfit almost entirely maid from plaidweave. Ah I can almost remember when I gave Solas the same treatment.

I'm taking things slow with Ghilio. I want to make sure this one is complete in the Keep. Preparing for DA4! Anyway, Ghilio is in the Emerald Graves, seeking out this Fairbanks dude while originally planning to find those letters for Cullen. Also hoarding plaidweave so I can dress everyone in plaidweave when we go to the Winter Palace for Celene's assassination ball.
You don't need to hoard enough to make stuff out of plaidweave....you just need enough to tint it all afterwards.
Nothing more annoying than making myself a beautifully colored armor set, then adding a masterwork that totally undoes all the pretty. So now I craft for the stats I want regardless of color, then tint it to what I want.

From the diary of Elena Lavellan: "I killed a Dragon! I did it! Wow, what a rush. The way it spit lightning at us, the way it roared and pranced! Bull did a great job distracting it before he was knocked down, but Sera and I finished it off. Just. I claim the killing blow though. I'm giddy as a girl meeting her first lover. Bull and I had a party later. He served this absolutely vile drink and I have such a hangover this morning. I must find out what it is just so I can see its effect on Vivienne."

Look at me, I started another Origins Character. - My first Origins PT was a City Elf do gooder who rode off into the Sunset with her Warden Alistair.
- My 2nd was a power hungry Isabella-esque Cousland Queen.
- I haven't finished my 3rd, it's on my packed up computer at the moment. But that is a sheltered naive Male Dalish Elf that resents being a Warden and will fall for Zevran somehow. Having a bit of a problem with that one. I have this sexually inexperienced elf that was in love with Tamlen and mourning him. I got him past the depression, but that still wouldn't make him hop Zevran's bones, so Zevran is going to have to come on to him strong even thought he doesn't flirt. I'm not sure that is a thing Zevran does... anyway
- My 4th is still formulating. So, Goals. New Origin to try: Mage. Romances Alistair. Destroys the Circle. Sells Connor's soul for blood magic skills. Don't know what she'd do for Nature of the Beast or the Dwarves yet. Does the Ultimate Sacrifice.<- never done it.
Story Arc I'm hoping for: Eliana does believe in ending the Blight, but she doesn't think being a Warden is romantic and awesome like Alistair and my first City Elf thought. Joining was just her ticket out of the Circle, a place she's always hated. Despite her sort of darker moral scheme, due to not trusting Morrigan (for being too much like herself) she refuses the Dark Ritual. Even though she doesn't want to die, at all, her belief that the Blight is the ultimate evil, as Duncan said when she met him, she does the Ultimate Sacrifice. At least, this is what I'm hoping for her. Already, I had wanted her to dislike Morrigan all along. But then I was asking questions I'd never asked before, and Morrigan was going on about leaving the Wilds the same way that Eliana had wanted to leave the Circle. So, darn it all, if she doesn't feel some camaraderie. Very selfish kinda nasty personality but inner heart of gold that only comes out for people she cares about. Mage Origins has supported this by every NPC asking if they know her and she was snarky to all of them. So, a little narrative below. I think the game claims that this Origin is a City elf Origin in a way, but I disagree that it has to be. You can tell one NPC that you are from the Alienage, or from a farm around Lothering. Or that you don't remember; which, of course, could be a lie. Eliana, Elven Circle Mage. Her parents had cherished her; a child that her parents had tried many years to conceive, which had garnered her her name. She was supposed to have been a hunter. That's how the Templars got her, actually. Eliana was out with both her parents, learning the basics of tracking, when the Templars had stumbled upon them. Apostate hunting, as they do. Eliana's parents refused to give up the location of the Clan's camp and the Templars were getting rough with them. Eliana had been so frightened...she'd just wanted them to stop, just stop frozen where they were so her parents could get away. And she'd yelled, and everything became so cold. So cold, and then the Templars were even more angry and they turned on her. And laughed as her parents begged to leave her alone, and they picked her up. And Eliana couldn't get away from that cold metal and the strong men and they tied her hands and called her a dirty dangerous knife ear. And papa tried to stop him and they killed him, just put their sword right through. And that was Eliana's last memory of her parents. Mama crying over Papa as she watched Eliana get taken away.
When she'd arrived at the Fereldan circle, she was a pitiful weeping thing. The other apprentices seemed to keep their distance due to her misery. Except for Jowan. Jowan was only 2 years older then her, but he treated her with kindness. Where her parents had been loving, his had been hateful. But still... they seemed to get along. Jowan became the brother she'd never had, and her only friend for the next twelve years within her time in the circle. She had tried to escape a few times, but she always failed, small child as she was. Irving was patient until...Eliana just gave up. Spent more time on her books. Older mages, like Wynne, got to leave the circle. And someday, if she was good enough, she would too.
And then her Harrowing happened. She had no fear that she would pass. She was the best apprentice out of all her peers, and it was not in her nature to doubt. The little mouse never once had her tricked into trusting him. Just as simply as that, she was an apprentice no longer, but a mage. She got new clothes. She got new quarters, although they still lacked a door for any privacy at all. She approached the front doors of the Tower, and the Templars still stopped her. The graduation had changed nothing; she still could not be outside in the fresh air and sunlight that she knew existed from her short childhood with the Dalish. She was a mage and she still couldn't see sunlight that wasn't pouring from a window. It rankled more than it usually did, these lacks.
She ran into Cullen in the halls. He seemed to be looking at her. One of the nicer Templars, but still new. She approached him for a bit of teasing, and laughed as her suggestions had him scurrying away from her. Ahh. That lifted her mood a bit from all the brooding. Even better news; a Warden was in the Tower looking for mages. Eliana was not afraid of sucking up a bit if it meant he might be her ticket out of there. Although he seemed interested, no offer was proffered. Sigh. After delivering the Warden to his quarters, Eliana found Jowan in the hall. He was worried and wanted to discuss things alone. Or...well, with Lily apparently. There was the suspicion that they would make Jowan Tranquil due to a rumor of blood magic. This concerned Eliana greatly; the Tranquilty, not the blood magic. Her "brother", Jowan, tranquil? No longer laughing at her teasing? No longer asking her advice on a spell? Eliana couldn't even imagine. Eliana told them she would have to think about it, and immediately marched to Irving's office. Irving confirmed the rite, to her dismay. Eliana protested and Irving scoffed and said he knew better.
All that work, so she could be the best in the Circle. All the anger fueled studying so she could be free. All of it endangered if she tried to save Jowan. Eliana returned to her new quarters and thought heavily. But...She must help the only friend she'd had in this world. Even if it put herself in danger. Only for him, would she do this. So, she went back, gave her word, and they set to work. They found his phylactery and destroyed it. Eliana didn't know exactly how she felt about hers being in Denerim. On the one hand, she could go on with her plan in the Circle with Jowan safe somewhere else. It would be lonely. But on the other, it could have meant the freedom from the Circle she'd always wanted. She could have found the Dalish. Maybe even have become a Keeper. Anyway, it didn't matter. That chance was gone now.
It didn't turn out quite the way she'd hoped. Her conversation with Irving must have tipped him off to their attempts to help Jowan to escape. He did escape; right after using the blood magic he'd denied all along to do so. Lily, his religious lover, was not pleased and turned away from him. His eyes met with Eliana's one more time as he left. Not exactly religious, Eliana offered a small prayer to the Maker anyway that his freedom would bring him happiness. Then it was time for the Templar to pick themselves off of the ground. Accusations were thrown her way. Although she tried to make the crime sound smaller to hopefully not totally ruin her Circle career. She sensed more than saw that the Warden had walked into the room. This was her chance. She turned to Gregoir and said she would have done the same thing again if given the chance. Gregoir was enraged, threatened her, and the Warden conscripted her out from under that anger fueled Justice. Whew; she'd lucked out with her play.
Her future had just changed drastically. She didn't rue her Circle career being lost at all, however. The Grey Wardens would give her a freedom she hadn't tasted in years.

Don't like him./ As a Vashot you get a Qunari icon in the conversation when you meet him, where you greet him in Qunlat. Haya just wanted to be nice and it was one of the few Qunlat sentences she knew. What did Bull do? He freaked out, "Don't talk in Qunlat infront of the Chargers!!!!111!!" Sheesh, chill Bull, Haya just wanted to be polite.

I noticed something a bit interesting going through ToM. Morrigan got a bit injured and kept drinking health potions, like a lot. One after another, over, over, over and over again. She probably went through fifty or more before I figured that I have the Trials system on where a hp will only heal for one health. Apparently it applies to npc's as well. I guess it's good Morrigan didn't OD on all them potions

Morrigan is still working on the DAO rules potion wise. Was most likely crafting new potion for every one she chugged. She probably also had tons of overpowered spells at her disposal, just didn't use them because she's a massive troll. Or maybe she had friendly fire on and didn't want to roast Quizzy and co. -- As for what was done in DA, nothing. I should probably fix that... Loaded up DAI, found to my dismay that Mayflowers face didn't charm me like it used to. Loaded up the character creator for laughs. The results were...eh. Heh he...Maybe I should just stick to Mayflower...

Decided to take Level 1 Silent Sister to a Perilous pug. Host Katari was the only one there initially, but we got a Keeper and Reaver later. For some reason couldn't generate any guard, which is doubly annoying since I have Savage Thorn. Was harder to prevent naps that way.

The trials were introduced with Trespasser. They allow you to seriously up the difficulty of the game in various ways; like Health Potions only heal 1 HP each, but you still only get 8, or earning XP at half the usual rate. That sort of thing.
You need to have Trespasser to use them, though.

Absolutely optional. I've never had the guts to try one - only just finishing my first nightmare run.
They're in the options menu (and available before starting a playthrough). I believe they can be toggled on and off, but if you leave them on you can get special shipments to the Undercroft in Skyhold.
Also there are Achievements available under Trespasser by completing - missions - for want of a better word with certain Trials on. For example, I think one is get to Skyhold by level 5 with Take it Slow (which is the half rate XP progression one).

Spent a goodly chunk of time getting my arse handed to me by a qunari growth hormone experiment. That was fun.
Before that had a reasonably straightforward run through the Elven ruins.
Any nightmare advice for Saarath? In a helpful turn of events, Sera's focus bar doesn't appear to be filling up.

By the time Trespasser came out, I already had four Inquisitors who had defeated Corypheus. In the year since, I had only taken three of them through the DLC. so yesterday I decided that it was finally time for Eunice Trevelyan to meet her destiny. Her world state ended up pretty sad - she had Bull in her team throughout but encouraged him to stay in the Qun and, well, you know how that went down. She told Cullen to stay on lyrium. Sera got thrown out, so she was only present as a ham-throwing cameo. Never recruited Blackwall or Dorian. (Although Dorian was surprisingly friendly - I guess he meant it back then when he told her he understood why she didn't want a Tevinter around.) She certainly was getting low on friends by the end of the game. On the bright side, at least she has a home with Josephine's family if she ever needs one . She maintained the Inquisition and vowed to muderate Solas ASAP. Alas, I did not do whatever you need to do to unlock the 'shut up with the exposition I've never liked you' dialogue option in that conversation, but at least she tried to punch him.

I think you need to not ask him about himself during the game. I still have to try this Speaking of which, I've made a Trevelyan girl for an evil playthrough I never managed. I always feel guilty halfway through and quit. I'm going to romance IB with her and have him remain loyal to the Qun, and I'll leave Hawke in the Fade and punch Solas in the face. But first, The Hinterlands... I'm also still playing Ghilio so when I feel guilty I'll just go play him for a bit He managed to soften Leliana so I'm prepared for when she becomes Divine. He's now hunting a dragon in the Western Approach. Worst idea ever.
