I'll try to give a more complete update later. Suffice it to say, my Surana is about to go to the Landsmeet (where she will have to make the choice between Alistair or Loghain). Just before that, she was trying to tie up some loose ends. Although generally a straight arrow, Neria has seen the need to do tasks for questionable parties in order to get needed funds for equipment. The most mysterious and likely criminal being to do "Favors for Certain Parties" out of the Gnawed Noble Tavern. She hasn't done all their tasks (she just couldn't bring herself to kill "Brian, lowly Brian), but she thought the "Dead Drops" was a relatively harmless task. When she tried to make the last drop in Redcliffe, however, the package exploded on her! None of the party was hurt, but it was a neat little detail I had never seen before!
In the Dead Drops quest, the last one always explodes, no matter which one it is. Picking one (K/D) over the other is a lot like picking sides in the merc quest string - lesser of two evils or just ignore them all and hope they go away?

Huh! Not recruiting Velanna led to the Pilgrim's path being all unsafe because she wouldn't relinquish the Wending Wood. Feel kinda bad for her, but it's her life. She'll eventually leave, surely, and find her own way. Free of that taint that would shorten her life, too. Speaking of the Wending wood, I hate that place. Happy endings for NAthaniel, Oghren, Anders because Vigil's keep held. Does Sigrun always run off in the middle of the night after losing her purpose or did I mess something up there? I paid super close attention to what the Architect told me. He really has no idea that he was once a magister. Maybe it's like Shale...after so long alive, you just blank out. Also, he definitely never shares what we learned in The Calling. Guess he learned his lesson there. HE really does a good job of presenting the Mother as super dangerous. Two other things, kinda disturbing. We never really know for sure the spirit people of the Blackmarsh actually pass on or die or anything. Also, your Warden's blood will definitely be used to "wake up" a Darkspawn. Lastly, even thouhg I didn't get a Zevran letter, the game did recognize our romance in the ending slide that says my Surana ran off to Antiva. The Seneshal of my Surana's lands must enjoy all the free reign I give him over running Gueryn.
oh yeah!
I've tried really hard to find a link that someone gave me, I think on this discussion. I've also tried looking on NExus mods. Someone linked me to a Dragon Age Keep Mod, one you use for DA2, not DAI. Can someone please relink me?
I have been answered. THANKS

You need to get Sigrun's approval pretty high in order for her not to leave in the epilogue. I think it needs to be around 80 or so, maybe more. If you take her with you to the final battle, you have to kill the Architect or you will lose approval with her.
Did you do her personal quest? It can be bugged - it needs to trigger before accepting the quest from the guard captain (re: smugglers), otherwise the npc required to spawn is no longer available.
Not sure what mod you are asking about? What is it supposed to do? The DA Keep is only for importing world states into Inquisition, so I'm not sure what exactly it is you are looking for? Maybe just a save generator?

I'm guessing the save editor mod is this one: www.nexusmods.com/dragonage2/mods/2251/?Never got it to work for me, but did admittedly not spend a lot of time testing it. As for Sigrun, I think along with high approval, you also need to ask her to stay during her last approval or post quest talk. And probably use puppy eyes as well.

I did the smuggler quest right off the bat, totally didn't have Sigrun till later. So, I didn't even do her personal quest and ...yeah, didn't even notice, to be honest. I mean, I knew I never did find her spyglass but kinda shrugged it off. I thought the smuggler quest bugged Anders Quest! I must have mis remembered. and, yes! Thanks Kipper! That is exactly what I was looking for! I'd done searches, but had looked under "Flags" and "keep" and then about 15 pages or more of mods just trying to find it. But it didn't work for you? in what way did it not work?

Granted this was a few years ago and maybe I was just doing something wrong. I think it worked for dragontartare, so it's probably that I was doing something wrong. I saw that mentioned as an error in the comments. It seemed to happen with the Amell Warden very specifically. Was your Warden an Amell? It's probably been fixed now since it was already complained about to the creator. Thing is, I won't find out if it worked for the Zevran stuff till much later...
In other news, I'm not going to do two of the Origins DLCs. That golem one is a bit meh (and the narrative is dropped entirely), and Witch Hunt... I just can't RP a reason for my Surana to chase after her. She didn't do the Dark Ritual, she was neither friends not enemies with the witch, and cares not for what she does. At least my other two Wardens, who did do the DR, could at least say they were just checking in on a friend and seeing how that Old God Baby thing was going. So, I just spent half an hour picking out 18 20 mods for DA2 that I'm going to use. And since I've never used a mod in my life, I don't know whether I should prepare for pain or not. also... I'm too fuzzy on what kind of Hawke my Hawke is. I've settled on a few things. She will be mostly diplomatic, then switch to sarcastic after her mother's death. She will be a mage that friend mances Fenris. She won't kill anyone- until she kills Quentin. I really liked Warden Carver, but I've yet to meet Templar Carver and so it shall be. She will friend everyone but Isabella, but still let her have that slave ship because that dialogue is very much, "It's your life." She'll exile Anders. She'll be religious, so Sebastian will stay a brother and she'll encourage Fenris to go to the Chantry to find peace. On the fence about Varania because I can't tell if her being stupid makes up for her betraying her brother so badly. Oo, reminder to self, I want that mod that makes it your LI that is always kidnapped-- Fenris being kidnapped is uber manly sounding, because he takes people out being captured. I'll do MOTA in Act 2 to see what's different, and Legacy as close to the end of Act 3 as possible so my Hawke's father's staff can be used in the ending battle like a boss. But who is my Hawke? That I need to ruminate on some more.

Witch Hunt doesn't make sense unless your Warden did the DR and wants to find out what happened with Morrigan and the baby. Have fun with the mods and be sure to tell us which ones worked well and which ones were buggy. Next time you do Origins, you should try some of the mods for that as well. There really are some great ones for that game.

Curious Crow and phoray In my game with the save generator, Amell was never referenced as being a relative as far as I can remember, but everything else is turning out fine so far. Alistair showed up as a Warden, I got the Nathanial quest, etc. Honestly, I think the Amell problem might be because the save generator allows some contradictory things. For example, I set it to have Alistair as a warden, Loghain killing the Archdemon (I think?) and my Warden still alive, having followed a romanced (modded lesbian romance) Morrigan through the Eluvian. Doing all that probably broke something Just don't choose impossible combinations and I bet you'll be fine.

phoray I don't think I've ever rivaled Isabela. Not had enough points to have her stick around, sure. But wouldn't you have to be a straight and narrow/serious type to do rivalry with her? It will be interesting to hear what kind of stuff ticks her off.
Emma finally got around to Fenris' Act 2 quests. I tried to spread them out to give myself the illusion of things building up slowly. He still left. I hope taking the flirt options with Aveline during The Long Road doesn't break anything in the romance since I don't really want to do that part again.

Let's see....As a good Hawke who is anti murder and pro forgiveness, I suppose letting the pedo live doesn't sit too well with me as a player but would go in line with the character. Isabella doesn't like that. Of course, being diplomatic when accepting Isabella's quest will net me friendship, so it won't be straight rivalry that Act. that gets me a total of 40 . Act 2, will have to leave her behind on the Bitter Pill....and night terrors...and still get 75 there. SO, looks good to me on that front. Isabella doesn't like a helpful, diplomatic, pious Hawke as far as I can tell.

Can't remember where I left off... My current PT is with Neria Surana, an elven Circle Mage. Given that the Circle is one of the few institutions in Thedas that treats capable elves as equals, she loyal to the Circle as led by Irving and is an Equitarian like both Irving and Wynne, though with some Libertarian leanings. After the “Jowan incident,” joining the Wardens proves easy for Neria since the Wardens, like the Circle, treat elves fairly. She wants to do what is right, but finds she has to balance that with pragmatic considerations especially after Ostagar. Given the dire circumstances she and Alistair find themselves in after Ostagar, she has to accept as comrades individuals she would’ve avoided prior to Ostagar, starting with the apostate mage, Morrigan. This inclination grows further after she accepts Leliana, a mysterious Chantry Sister, into their group. Leliana’s influence encourages Neria to show mercy and give people second chances. Pragmatism also drives her to accept quick jobs for pay so that she and her comrades can purchase improved armor and weapons. Jobs from the Chanters’ board satisfy her idealistic inclinations and pose no moral dilemmas. She has also accepted jobs from the Blackstone Irregulars, the Mages’ Collective, and – while in Denerim – the Antivan Crows and some criminal groups connected to the Gnawed Noble Tavern. Especially when dealing with the Mages’ Collective and with the Crows, she has rejected jobs she felt were especially questionable. With this background as to how Neria thinks, she has made the following key decisions while trying to gather allies in accordance with the Grey Warden treaties: 1) Redcliffe – She chose to help the village defeat the undead. After then clearing the castle and forcing possessed Connor to retreat, she decides to seek the aid of the Circle to free Connor from the demon that controls him from the Fade after learning of the nature of Connor’s possession from a repentant Jowan who admits poisoning Arl Eamon. She rejects Jowan’s suggestion of using Blood Magic and instead, leaves Jowan and Morrigan at Redcliffe Castle to keep possessed Connor in check. 2) The Circle – Having been a loyal Circle Mage, Neria naturally chooses to save the Circle rather than annul it and is able to add her old mentor Wynne to her team. 3) The Sacred Ashes – To cure Arl Eamon, Neria goes to Haven to obtain the Sacred Ashes. She is touched by the experience and refuses to desecrate the Ashes as requested by Kolgrim, a fanatical cult leader who believes Andraste has returned to the world as a dragon. 4) Brecellian Forrest – Initially intent on killing a spirit named Witherfang to save a clan of elves from becoming werewolves themselves, Neria meets the Lady of the Forrest, a spirit that at times takes the form of Witherfang, and learns that the Zathrian, Dalish Keeper, is the one responsible for the curse in the first place. After confronting Zathrian, the curse is lifted freeing both the werewolves and the infected Dalish elves from the curse. 5) Orzammar – Upon encountering the political deadlock in the Dwarven Kingdom, Neria seeks to talk to both Behlen and Harrowmont to figure out which would make a better king. All efforts to meet Behlen fail because Behlen’s right-hand man, Vartag Gavorn, kept trying to have Neria falsely implicate Harrowmont in various crimes. Further, when Neria entered the Proving, she found out that Harrowmont’s original champions had dropped out of the Proving under blackmail threats from Behlen’s people. As a result, Neria supported Harrowmont as king. (I tried to avoid meta-gaming on this PT; Neria had to make decisions based on what she knew or what she was inclined to do.) 6) Caridin vs Branka – Neria sided with Caridin after learning the truth about golems and seeing how Branka’s obsession resulted in the death of her entire house. Having fulfilled the Grey Warden Treaties, Neria accepts Arl Eamon’s suggestion to call a Landsmeet to confront Loghain once and for all. Once in Denerim, they are called to rescue Queen Anora who is being kept under house arrest by Arl Howe. They kill Howe and free a number of prisoners unjustly held in Howe’s dungeon. Neria, however, ends up being captured and has to be rescued by Shale and Wynne. Back at Arl Eamon’s estate, Neria arranges for Anora to marry Alistair to maintain the Therin family on the throne of Ferelden. Anora informs Neria that something odd is going on in the Denerim alienage and that Loghain may be implicated. Neria then leads her team to the alienage. There, she finds that Tevinter mages have a slave operation going on under the guise of treating the alienage elves for the plague. Neria and her team defeat the Tevinters and free the elves. (During the Origin story, Neria stated she was from the Denerim alienage.) Sadly, Neria finds no signs of relatives in the alienage nor anyone who remembers her. She was but a child when she left for the Circle Tower so many years ago. Having resolved the problems at the alienage and having influenced a number of nobles affected by Howe’s crimes. Neria and Alistair are ready for the Landsmeet…

deadlydwarfSo interesting! My Surana crowned Bhelen after doing Harrowmont's quest line. He was a kind old dwarf, but after seeing Dust Town. She couldn't help but see a similarity between how the casteless were treated and how elves were treated. She did protest Bhelen having Harrowmont executed but Bhelen's refusal was pretty calm and spot on. The crown would be contested if he didn't settle things permanently. Some of these quests are hard to do differently, even while ignoring metagaming. I remember when I was trying to play a "perfect" game my 2nd PT and I was constantly looking things up. Yet on my 3rd, Surana is winging it, and it was still so very easy to get Zathrien to break the curse. I didn't even feel like I tried, the game sort of guides you that direction. To do differently, you have to pick aggressive "shut up, I'm not listening, kill kill" options.

To do differently, you have to pick aggressive "shut up, I'm not listening, kill kill" options. When I first played, I was using a guidebook to get to all the perfect solutions. Then, of course, I realized that was cheating! I realized that my PCs had to make decisions based on what they knew and what they could reasonably anticipate. (Doing that definitely makes the possessed Connor situation more interesting!) Listening closely to what people becomes all the more important. The problem for my Surana was how do you find out that Behlen has any kind of good side? In the first task Gavorn gave -- the one about the land deal -- the Shaper told me it had all been forged. Next, Gavorn's trying to get my PC to falsely connect Harrowmont to Jarvia. The nearest thing I could get to a statement of any of Behlen's positions was the merchant right before Dust town who says Behlen will expand trade with the surface. I wonder if the only Origin that would know anything of Behlen's position to help the Casteless is the Dwarf Commoner? With the Dalish elves, I once had a Dalish PC kill Witherfang and all the Werewolves. In general, the Weres were even more hostile to her than to the other Origins for obvious reasons. With the mindset that my Dalish PC wanted to help the Dalish not just because of the Blight but because they were Dalish, I went for the parley with the Lady of the Forrest. My PC was, of course, sympathetic when hearing of the curse and how she wanted us to bring Zathrian to her to break the curse. I would say most of my PCs would then go to get Zathrian. My Dalish PC asks: "What happens if the curse can't be broken?" Swiftrunner -- one of the most obnoxious non-villainous characters in the game -- immediately blurts out "We kill all the Dalish!" At that point, my Dalish PC goes back to "I just want Witherfang" and the fight starts! I've no idea what kind of Warden goes for Dalish massacre option. Not even Morrigan suggests that! lol I suppose an extreme racist human noble would do that and sacrifice the alienage elves. I've yet to do a PT with a PC that starts off with such an extremely flawed character.

Douglas has defeated Corypheus and is now entangled in the Exalted Council. I think he's read a lot in the last two years, he seems to have wised up somewhat, but i suspect he's pleased Josie and Leliana are around to do this difficult stuff. It's the first time i've really been through Trespasser since descending into the hellspiral for the first time with my Lavellan mage. I'm loving having a proper friendship with Sera and being able to pick out when Cole's talking about a certain bald elf and when he's talking about something from Mass Effect. Vivienne's being nice and I'm liking the gentle Josephine romance (even if i do have to headcanon a big mad Antivan wedding...). What is surprising me is all the little hints that i missed on previous playthrough. Solas gave Sera advice on starting a revolution while walking around the Frostback Basin, some of the codex entries gave me pause for thought (Geldauran's Claim in particular), Morrigan thinking that the elven gods were merely powerful mages and nobody really believing her... and then at one point in the "deep roads" section of Trespasser (how did I fail to notice those ruins don't look remotely dwarven?) the fact was staring me in the face "Him Solas Evanuris" .

I have about 22 mods on board for my 4th run of Dragon Age 2. Only 5 have to do with Hawke specifically, and two of those are outfits. And I'd never used a mod before in my life before today. I could have gone the super model direction with her, considering all the options, but settled (happily!) for the "Gorgeous Apostate Next Door." Long Brown Hair, dusky skin, and warm brown eyes. The face shape is from the original game with nose and cheek tweaks. I was really wanting my Hawke to still look like part of the family, so I held up a picture of Bethany on my phone while adjusting facial features. Reagan HawkeWhat trouble shall we get up to next, little brother?

I started to play DAO yesterdady and decided to create a new warden whom name is Donquijote (yes like the one of the book )this character is very idealistic to the point of lunacy.
I'm now in Lotharing the first thing i did was to undress from all of their equipment Morrigan,Alistair,Sten and Leliana (they are now naked to learn humility and I intend to let them remain like that for the rest of the game) then I sold everything to the merchant to make some coin in order to make donations and feed the poor in need, especially the family of city elves there.

I've no idea what kind of Warden goes for Dalish massacre option. Not even Morrigan suggests that! lol I suppose an extreme racist human noble would do that and sacrifice the alienage elves. I've yet to do a PT with a PC that starts off with such an extremely flawed character. I remember she approve for killing the Dalish and the city elves as well, but not to be worry i intend to teach her the good manners, that's why Flemeth gave her to me.

Nice! You even changed Carver? Or did the game do that based on how you changed Hawke? For DAO and Inquisition, I try to be creative. For DA2, I always tend to stick with the iconic Hawkes. I kind of like that smug smirk female iconic Hawke has.

I assume you're soloing this time around? As Shale would say, the companions would be awfully squishy without armor!

After talking with Arl Eamon, Neria, Alistair and the rest head for the Landsmeet. The are intercepted at the door by Ser Cauthrien. Given her powers of persuasion and inclination toward mercy, Neria gets Ser Cauthrien to back down, though Ser Cauthrien begs Neria to show mercy toward Loghain and remember him for the man he was. All Neria's efforts to rally the nobles against Loghain prove successful with the Landsmeet almost unanimously declaring for the Grey Wardens. Neria then successfully duels Loghain one-on-one and Loghain yields. Neria wishes to accept Loghain's surrender, but Alistair objects, insisting Loghain be executed. Warden Riordan steps in and suggests recruiting Loghain into the Wardens. This makes sense to Neria; she remembers her fellow recruit, Daveth, back at Ostagar, who was a cutpurse. If the Wardens would take in a petty criminal, why not a disgraced military leader? In anger, Alistair withdraws from the Wardens and focus on his new role as king. Loghain survives the Joining and takes Alistair's place among the companions.
This is the first time I recruited Loghain and had to do a couple of redo's because Alistair kept abandoning the crown as well as the Wardens. I ultimately found I hadn't completed the "hardening" of Alistair and had to go back a save to complete the process.

Told my husband I was going to play an elf, looked as though he would have a heart attack. Tried to play her but just could not do it. Thus back at the CC making my main character again for the umpteenth time.
Now I just have to grin and bare this annoying tutorial. Must. Get. To. Haven. Need some Culley Wully.

IS he ruling alone? Daveth! Also, Duncan killed a Warden is how he joined the Wardens. So, yeah, murderers, cut purses... all is welcome.

(Dies laughing).

I had tried to harden Alistair, but just didn't do enough follow-up conversations after the "everybody is out for himself" speech. Much as I find Origins almost infinitely replayable, I do tend to shortchange talking to companions the more I play. He rules with Anora. And not only Daveth, but Duncan himself demonstrates the flexibility GWs have towards whom they recruit. It's a pity that's another thing Duncan didn't talk to Alistair about, but then again, Alistair was still a relatively new recruit.
