Anders and Fenris are opposites of the same coin. As an Apostate Mage, Anders looks longingly at Tevinter from afar. As a non-mage and slave from Tevinter, familiarity breeds contempt! That Hawke can keep them on the same side for most of the game is a small but temporary miracle. Dumb question, how did your Hawke find out Anders wasn't really trying to separate from Justice he blows up the cathedral? From my first PT, I remember Anders had us collecting you know what from the sewers and then there's the big boom and a massive sense betrayal on the part of my Hawke. On a second PT, I cut ties with Anders after he kills the mage we were trying to save from radical Templars. Yup... and unfortunately my Hawke didnt agree with either of them so eh Oh it was an option... after collecting the ingredients from the sewers for the "potion" you give him them and then (I think if I remember rightly) do the questioning options which basically lead to him telling you that he lied about what the ingredients were for... and Hawke at that point can basically say something amounting to that they arent friends anymore... so she helped him gather the ingredients but basically stopped the quest right after that... I actually got a weird conversation thing in the chantry where I warned Elthina about what was happening Now that's pretty neat....I never got that! You warn Elthina....what about Aveline? Was she part of your team when you broke it off with Anders? (Any possibility of warning authorities?)

Haha I really cant remember what I did its my first playthrough of DA2 so it isnt like ive experimented She probably was but I cant remember any dialogue from her... maybe though my memory is awful haha... cant remember who I had in my party at the time to be honest although she probably was there With Elthina it was pretty random I was checking if there were any quests in the chantry and I talked to her and it appeared as an option on the left rather than asking for her blessing or whatever not sure if it changed anything or not though

I started a new Solasmance playthrough few days ago, but this time it's gonna be a little different because I'm romancing him with a male elf! Mods Anyways, today wasn't very eventful: other than my Herald Fenassan (in the avatar) attempting to shoot Solas with his arrows and Solas frying him with Chain Lightning as a revenge (their relationship is starting up a bit rocky...), I got to the Hinterlands for the first time and spend some time wandering around collecting herbs and fighting Templars and rebel mages, didn't even go to Mother Giselle yet. Gonna do that next, either tonight or tomorrow. I'm also thinking about starting a new Origins PT, I haven't played it in ages, but I haven't decided anything about it yet, other than I'm going to romance Leliana. We'll see how that goes. I actually started a new Origins play through recently, but its become a bit buggy for me. Even after I re-downloaded the game and reinstalled the mods I still get random crashes. I do not think the game likes Windows 10 or my more modern gaming rig very much. Hmm.
I've played Origins on Windows 10 with zero issues. And yes that includes MODs.
If you like, there is a thread I created in Mechanics/Tactics, you could list your MODs there and explain the issue a bit more. I or anyone will do what we can to help.

I really haven't had any special issues related to Windows 10. However, the more mods you add, the more risks you take. I assume that's what caused my recent problems. Cantina, do you have a separate thread on the Origins section? Or this the thread you started under Inquisitions?

I've had the option to use it every time and I've helped Anders get ingredients every time. Elthina is always like... I don't give a fuq.weirdest response ever, but the warning is stupidly ambiguous, so I guess it fits.

Just got done with IHYSB for the...7th time I think. I needed the reminder that the impossible is possible. Though sadly I got three of the havenites killed. Was that on purpose?
****************************
Well, starting Into the Abyss. Taking Cassandra, Bull and Varric with me (again).
Gawd this quest is about as much fun as getting an enema with a fire hose. Of course WEWH is ten times worst. That's more like getting an enema with lava.No it wasn't on purpose I still haven't gotten that bloody trophy. Curious though I really enjoyed Abyss and especially WEWH. There are only three quests in DA I that particularily bug me but the rest are quite solid. Heck one of the few games where this is the case.

I found this and there is not exactly a perfect place for it.
The "Templar Jar" had me crackin' up.
Otherwise, I've just been watching a lot of Dragon Age fan music videos

I don't use tac-cam but I do pause a lot during this sequence. I ignore everything else (let companions deal with enemies) and use Inky to save everyone. The only exception might be if I need help busting down a door. For Adan and Minaeve, I get the one on the left first, then the one on the right. If you get close enough, you should be able to reach both nodes without moving, or at least without moving much. I also quick save after each rescue so if I mess up I only have to re-do a little bit.

In the first house we came to in the alienage, was the Elf we had freed from Howe's dungeon. He couldn't tell us much, other than Tevinter mages were there, apparently trying to cure the plague. He asked if we could talk to his cousin Shianni before she got herself killed, and said we would know her when we saw her. i.imgur.com/9mkmpDf.jpgCousin Shianni was easy to pick out, and would be very pretty if she stopped and smiled for a minute. She was sure the Tevinters weren't there out of the goodness in their hearts. Their Hahren, Valendrian had been taken in to Quarantine and he wasn't even sick. i.imgur.com/ehbBpMI.jpgI didn't want to risk a fire fight in the crowded square, so we went around the back and dispatched a lone guard. An Elf who claimed none of them were sick, said they had taken Valendrian through the back allies a short time ago. i.imgur.com/KCCyCDv.jpgHow could such a pretty Elf be a Tevinter slaver? i.imgur.com/YpQeo9w.jpgLeliana must have thought I had things under control and started disabling traps mid battle. i.imgur.com/R3OuBWk.jpgCaladrius the Tevinter slaver wasn't impressed with my counter offer. i.imgur.com/WDSQyXC.jpgi.imgur.com/LX8eYGk.jpgi.imgur.com/CV1x2Nn.jpgAfter his position was somewhat weakened, he came up with a counter offer of his own. We had a good laugh before freezing his ass to the floor, and releasing the Elves. i.imgur.com/5RKyTv0.jpgShianni was pleased with the outcome, although Leliana didn't appreciate her saying "Andraste's ass, you'd think I'd learn some social graces!" i.imgur.com/SfVVUda.jpgThe Hahren gave me a dagger, once given to him by Duncan. Not the quality of Leliana's daggers, but a nice keepsake. i.imgur.com/oqxwVWO.jpg With the proof needed to sway the Landsmeet, it was now time to make Alister a King.

After a stressful afternoon of getting my Keep info synched to my PS4, I'm finally playing DA:I again for the first time in over a year. I thought I had my dwarf ready to go (bringing back my first character, Garnet) except of course her lipstick was too bright. Thankfully, I know what I did so it should take me less time to fix.
Name: Garnet Cadash Age: Ain't telling Occupation: Rogue, Archer Hair: Red Eyes: Blue, with a gold inner iris Temperament: Smartass Romance: The Bull, because I'm not going after Blackwall

Doesn't DAI have a black emporium now? It didn't when I played it and you had to start again from scratch, but I thought they added it later. Anyway: When we arrived at the Landsmeet, proceedings had already begun and Eamon was giving a rousing speech. i.imgur.com/oxIey03.jpgSighard told what happened to his son i.imgur.com/mbM6AMY.jpgAnd when Bann Alfstanna cut Loghain down with what Irminric had told her, the Chantry turned on Loghain. i.imgur.com/KqmSO8P.jpgBryland of South Reach and Arl Wulff of Western Hills through their lot in with us and it was looking like lunch in the Palace with King Alister. Then Anora walked in and showed what a backstabbing treacherous bitch she really was. i.imgur.com/3h178Tn.jpgLoghain called for our execution, and then ran for cover behind his men when the ensuing fight broke out. Before I could kill the coward, Grand Cleric Elemena called a halt to the fighting. i.imgur.com/Hc4Iw9q.jpgAlfstanna agreed to let the matter to be decided in single combat. i.imgur.com/QmDdizc.jpgI welcomed the decision. i.imgur.com/eell2Yu.jpgThe decrepit old man never even laid a blade on me. i.imgur.com/9TOWdwL.jpgAnd in what should have been an honorable fight to the death, he cowardly surrended, trying to save his own worthless hide. i.imgur.com/rRxp2RB.jpgWhen I said, not a chance in hell, Riordan stepped in and said we should make this broken down old fool a Grey Warden. i.imgur.com/4o6wWHn.jpgI agreed with Alister that that was insane, and having the bitch Queen plead for her fathers life only cemented my conviction. i.imgur.com/ALvjwbB.jpgAlister had lost both a brother and a mentor to Loghain, so I let him remove his head in a quicker death than he deserved. i.imgur.com/iHQa7cE.jpgi.imgur.com/1msp9fl.jpgWhen Anora wouldn't renounce her claim to the throne, I told Alister he would have to remove her lying faces as well. But he didn't have the stomach for it, and instead had her sent to Fort Draken prison until we had dealt with the blight. She conceded that she would not have let him live if the roles were reversed. i.imgur.com/oQjUMFH.jpgIt has to be said, that Alister's first speech as King lacked inspiration i.imgur.com/yhfxlCl.jpgAnd he was more than a little pissed that I'd made him King, until I reminded him what Anora had said. i.imgur.com/ek0WYNg.jpg

I started Awakening with my Neria Surana, the only GW to kill an AD and live to tell about it! (And without anyone doing DR with Morrigan no less!) She clears the Keep with the help of GW recruit Mahari and later, Anders, an escaped apostate, and Oghren. She has all three go through the Joining. Needless to say, the one with the best character, Mahari, is the one who dies. She then goes to the dungeon where Nathaniel Howe, the son of the villain Rendon Howe, is being held. He apparently broke into the Vigil's keep, formerly owned by his family, to reclaim some personal belongings. Neria does not believe he should suffer for the sins of his father and lets him go, much to his surprise. He later comes back and asks to join the Wardens voluntarily. After a trip to Amaranthine, Neria finds there is trouble in the Wending Wood threatening supplies to the Keep. She finds the culprit is a Dalish mage, Velanna, who attacks the trade caravans because she believes they kidnapped her sister and killed her group of followers. Neria investigates and finds that the Darkspawn cunningly attacked the Dalish camp and left behind human weapons to make Velanna think that humans were to blame. After beating back an attack by Velanna, Neria opts to talk to Velanna rather than kill her. Neria is impressed that Velanna actually listens and acknowledges that she may have been tricked. They then decide to join forces and pursue the Darkspawn via a Silverite Mine nearby. Now the glitches occur.... Neria and her team go into the mine and are promptly gased into unconsciousness. When they wake, Neria's comrades no longer have their weapons and gear but are, instead, stuck in pauper clothing. And what of Neria Surana? The HOF is buck naked! (The red flags should've come up at this point...) After getting a key from Velanna's sister, who's acting strangely, they break out of their holding cells and start making their way through the tunnels to find their nemesis. They find strange individuals along the way who are utilizing the gear of Neria's comrades and kill them off one by one. But the individual wearing Neria's gear is never found; so Neria fights the two dragons with lame gear picked up along the way. I think I will have to redo the Silverite mine...

With a united Ferelden firmly behind it's new King, we prepared to go to Redcliff and deal with the blight. But Morrigan thought we had more pressing matters to attend to. She had been deciphering her mother's grimiore and found some unsettling things about her mother. She thought having us kill Flemeth was the only option open to her. We had come to rely on her magic and would need it in the days ahead, so I agreed to kill the old witch. Now if there are no more pressing personal matters, I'd like to get on with ending the blight. I awoke to find Leliana watching over me. Her silliness made me smile and got the day off to a good start. i.imgur.com/M94FSyk.jpgOur armies had gathered at Redcliff, so I was surprised that Eamon had let darkspawn take the town. We cleared the town and made our way into the castle. Riordan then told us the main hoard was actually marching on Denerim, with the archdemon at their head. i.imgur.com/YIqUG9s.jpgThen he told us why it had to be a Grey Warden that slayed the archdemon, and what happened to the warden when they did. i.imgur.com/mdFNEbI.jpgMorrigan was waiting for me in my bedroom. I said you better not let Leliana catch you in here, or you'll have more to worry about than an archdemon. She said I have a plan you see... Then laid out her reason for accompanying us all along. i.imgur.com/z4zuAPO.jpgI wasn't having a bar of demon babies, and she left in a huff. After she had gone, I realised she had taken my ring of ages I had loaned her. i.imgur.com/Mrb5N7v.jpgAlister's second speech as King was from the heart, and given with conviction. i.imgur.com/R7byxR9.jpgWell we cleared the area around Denerim's city gates and then met with Riordan to devise a plan. i.imgur.com/jNCNuAr.jpgI told Leliana that she didn't need to come with me, that death is not as glorious as it is in her stories. She said she was not afraid, and that we would write a legend of our own. It bothered me a little that when staring death in the face, she clung tightly to Marjorlaine's bow. But I was also relieved she chose to come with me. i.imgur.com/6LglkXw.jpgAlister wanted to join us, but I said as King, he should be seen with his men, defending the city gates. i.imgur.com/F50KU3w.jpgTwo of us, and only one Archdemon, how could we lose? i.imgur.com/d4fyrmL.jpgi.imgur.com/81KlAKG.jpgOne General down. i.imgur.com/tbj91s2.jpg The Alienage: I could sense a large group of darkspawn heading for the alienage. When we arrived, we were met by a familiar face. She was frightened at first when I told her they would have to stay and defend their homes, but then agreed thinking it might give others time to escape. The City Gates: King Alister. The Palace District: Fort Draken: The Archdemon: I was going to take this Warden into Awakening. I thought Riordan was bluffing. Who knew?

Here are some tips:
*Even if you are playing a tank or not, take Cassandra or Blackwall with you. Be sure they have War Cry.
*After the first catapult is destroyed, save your game!
*The only time you need to fight the enemies is saving the first and last survivor.
I've went through my saves and made a walk-through (no commentary). **************************************************** Anyways today in DAI I am running around doing companion quests.
Completed, "Demands of the Qun" and no Krem did not become a Krem'puff. Get it? Krem Puff? Ha! Bah!
Next up is Cassandra's quest, "Promises of Destruction." I actually feel kind of bad for Cassie during this one.
Cole quest will be after that one. I generally side with Varric because he makes some damn good points.
Oh and my Culley Wully got his blue juice flushed down the drain and was told, "No! Bad!"

I found this and there is not exactly a perfect place for it. The "Templar Jar" had me crackin' up. Otherwise, I've just been watching a lot of Dragon Age fan music videos That's cute! They should've thrown in Varric complaining that he had been left out!

I was going to take this Warden into Awakening. I thought Riordan was bluffing. Who knew? I always thought they should have had a better death scene for PCs who do the US. I couldn't help but think having Leliana sadly sing "In Uthenera" over the fallen GW with the other companions paying their respects. (Good idea for a mod....if only I could mod!) Yeah, I had seen that Silverite mod fix on Nexusmods before, but on previous PTs, I never seemed to need it. Oh well, my Suranna's luck was bound to run out sooner or later!

olnorton Yeah, it does. I was just feeling impatient. Got her fixed and almost to Haven. The soonest one can do black emporium is post haven, isn't it? My key to makeup in CC creators is to get it looking perfect-- then click it down 2-4 notches on all makeup parts. I just assume that in brighter light, it'll be way too strong. I'd rather look a bit like my character's makeup was faded from a couple days of unconsiousness then look like they've missed a late night curtain call for their performance on stage.

My strategy for IYHSB (especially on higher difficulties) is to pause often, so you can make sure everyone is doing what they're supposed to. Your tank should be armed with Shield Bash and/or Charging Bull, so you can quickly break down doors. I find this to be a far quicker method than using the ladder to rescue Seggrit. It does bring your tank out of the fight for a few seconds, but the rest of your party should be able to manage. Have at least two mages in your party, so you can cast barrier as often as possible. This will keep both your party and townspeople alive. Have your mages built for crowd-control so that it's easier to lock down enemies. Lightning Cage is extremely useful in this fight to keep the mobs localised on your tank and away from squishier townspeople or members of your party. If you have two mages using that spell, crowd-control becomes a cakewalk. Fade Step is great for getting to townspeople quickly, as well as avoiding damage. Get Adan first, since he's the one closest to the approaching flames. Fade Step can get you righ next to him if you're going up the stairs from Flissa's. You should then have a bit more time to run around the jars to rescue Minaeve. Once the progress bar is completed, don't worry if the jars explode as she's getting up, she'll be fine. I play on Nightmare with every trial on, except for friendly-fire and "Rub Some Dirt On It". Also I don't use revival spells or manually revive fallen teammates... but that's my own weird little self-appointed handicap when playing DA/ME, so ignore it if you don't want to make the game more frustrating challenging. So yeah, it's entirely possible to survive Haven with no potion crates and level-scaled enemies, just remember to prioritise using your regen potions, so you can keep your health potions in reserve for as long as possible. You can even complete Haven on Nightmare under level 5 if you're going for the "Trial of the Fool" achievement, although you definitely will have to reload a few times.

Many neat ideas and not just on how to save Haven's citizens! (It's a pity the survivors don't do much beyond thank you once they get to Skyhold. I kind of liked Minaeve. I do like Segrit's comment: "You get a new title and I get the boot! I see how it is!") For myself, the problem with Inquisition is how quickly you level up after Skyhold. By the time you meet Cory for the final showdown, he's barely a boss. The trials do help though. I'll have to try "Trial of the Fool" just to see what it's like to be totally overwhelmed!

As I mentioned in a previous post, my first shot at the Silverite mine ended with an unforeseen disaster: My PC, an arcane warrior, lost all her special equipment and accessories that made that specialization workable: Maric's sword, Cailan's shield and grieves, reaper's vestments, etc. I added the mod Norton mentioned above and everything worked properly and my gear was retrieved.
My Neria then accepted Velanna into the Grey Wardens. Given all the questionable characters she worked with during the Blight, Velanna didn't seem like an extremely bad option. She sincerely believed humans had kidnapped her sister and murdered her followers given the circumstantial evidence the darkspawn had left at her camp. No one, of course, would've expected the Darkspawn to be that sly. (If Neria had made the US, an Orlesian Warden might have reacted differently.) Neria also got a chance to play Solomon at Vigil's Keep. He had "the Ox" executed for the murder of Ser Tamara, who had warned Neria of the plots against her.
Neria's current dilemma: help the smugglers or help the constable defeat the smugglers. Her normal inclination is to side with the legal authorities so long as they are just. (Neria just finished hunting down maleficar for the Templars -- or "Anders hunting" as Neria likes to think of it!) Given the shortages in post-Blight Ferelden, don't smugglers bring needed food and goods into the city? OTOH, one has to worry where and how they got the merchandise.
General comments on Awakening: 1) A nice follow-on to Origins overall. The "look" of the world is the same. I like the quests and having read "The Calling," the Architect is a bit more comprehensible. 2) I miss the romance element. Where's Leli when you need her? 3) I hate rune-crafting in Awakening; it's needlessly complex. This, at least, was done well in Inquisition. 4) The glitches are annoying. I've mentioned the Silverite mine problem. I know not all parts of "blackblade" armor drop. In general, I hate having to chase all over the place for armor sets in both Origins and Awakening. By the time you get them all, even better equipment becomes available. (Anyone remember "Ancient Elven Armor"?)
