What did you do today in DA?The usual with my violent character. Who know who will be the next victim! Neat that you were able to mod the game to do that! I assume Howe will recover from his "head wound" later in the game? Well until the mission to rescue Anora i will not see him...or maybe i will see a body without an head talking to me.

Aspen (my elven mage) was quite the busy gal over the last couple of days. I've got just over 24 hours on her thus far. This is pretty long, so I'll put this in spoiler tags to save space. --Began by running around the Hinterlands. I don't hate the zone as much as I used to, but I prefer getting as much out of the way at the start that is possible. Solas did something new (to me) by bitching at my character. "The clerics are ready to see us." Every 10 minutes or so. I finally yelled at the screen, "Fine! I'm going already."
--I've got both a webpage (thank you Fextralife) as well as a hand-written cheat sheet for the War Table. I'm not going to screw up and lose Aspen's clan nor the remaining Wardens, thank you very much game.
--Finished that, went and picked up the other recruits. Sera isn't as bad as I remember, despite my character being an "elfy-elf." She's just young and Aspen knows how to placate her. Good thing, because...
--I sided with the mages this time. I've done both sides before, but my anti-Circle elf would never have considered the templars. Out of the two quests, it's my favorite. Not because I'm that pro-mage (I'm more like the dwarves in that regard,) but because it shows the player what could happen if Cory won. Sooo creepy.
I'd taken Varric with me like usual, but this time I took Blackwall with me instead of Cass. Thinking about it, most of the characters found a way to stay sane while captured. Varric hums Bianca's song; Cassandra has her faith; Solas is...Solas. Blackwall is barely holding on by a thread. Wish I had taken him with me the first time I played.
--Once that was done, I finished up the Hinterlands (with one exception,) Fallow Mire (which I actually really like) and the first half of the Storm Coast. The Storm Coast is one of my absolute favorite zones in the base game.
--Killed that dragon in the Hinterlands on the first try at level 12. I did have the perk to get more potions and I had upgraded Healing and Regen before heading out. I had two pots left, but I got her. I'd forgotten about the staff she drops. That I can't use for 3 levels. Figures.
--Saved everyone at Haven. It took me a reload, since I'd missed Adan. I took control of Cass and got it done. I also took my time once everyone was saved to loot and clean up. Those templars drop some of the first real amounts of cash from mobs so far.
--Became the Inquisitor. I'll dink around over the next few days and see if I can get that screenshot I took of her uploaded. I'm on console this time around, so no easy access to imgur for me. Bonus Screenshots! This is not from my current character, but she looks almost identical to her. Including the eyes. The clothes and longer hair are thanks to mods.

The darkspawn were hanging around the entrance to an old silverite mine. Possibly a route back to the Deep Roads, we'd better hurry if we want to keep Seranni from ending up a brood-mother. As soon as we entered the mine I felt all my energy being drained. I half remember a figure standing over me. He could talk and looked unlike any darkspawn I had come across to date, but I was pretty groggy so maybe just my imagination. i.imgur.com/KjE3ibZ.jpgi.imgur.com/Q3b0w5D.jpgI awoke in a cell, together with my companions. Our gear was gone, but strangely our captors had taken the time to dress us in commoner's clothing. These were not like any darkspawn I had encounted in Ferelden during the blight. We were relieved to see Seranni still alive. i.imgur.com/pwthQJq.jpgIf not well, she was already showing signs of the taint that took Tamlyn. We would have to get her through the joining quickly if we are to save her. There was a calmness about her, as if under some sort of mind control. She gave us a key and then left. i.imgur.com/hIERVDu.jpgSigrun took some armour off a Dwarven corpse in one of the cells. That probably says more about her castless upbringing that I wanted to think about. Velanna and I used old fashioned bare hands magic, and Sigrun grabbed darkspawn weapons. i.imgur.com/1m7iMdg.jpgWhen Velanna spotted a tainted Elf wearing her Keepers robes, there was no holding her back. i.imgur.com/9M6pbgC.jpgI hope my robes look better on me than they do on that thing. I was tempted to let it keep them, but they are the only things I have left of my old life. i.imgur.com/AgTHJBZ.jpgI'm not sure if the dragons were meant to kill us, or just test us. If they wanted us dead, they could have done it before now. i.imgur.com/Qf7txL8.jpgi.imgur.com/D8XwkyB.jpgi.imgur.com/XdPUrWj.jpgWhatever the reason, the Emissary collapsed his escape route with Seranni following him, still under his spell. i.imgur.com/KgcnV7d.jpgShattered, Velanna wanted to undergo the joining and go in pursuit of her sister. i.imgur.com/XGF20pp.jpgOn the way back to Vigil's Keep we came upon members of Velanna's clan. Or I should say former clan, as it appears Velanna and those that chose to accompany her in her warmongering against the shems, were exiled by Keeper Illshae, who had since died. Had Velanna kept her cool, she would have been their Keeper now. But she didn't want to talk of it. i.imgur.com/1ZSUV9w.jpgThen on the road to Vigil's Keep, Nathaniel Howe came up to us and said he wanted to become a Grey Warden. I thought having him join our ranks might get some of the local nobles on side, so agreed to put him through the joining. Back at the Keep the peasants were revolting (aren't they always?) I said with the number of dead in my wake, adding a few shemlen peasants wouldn't make any difference. They weren't prepared to see if I was bluffing. i.imgur.com/8xIv48q.jpgi.imgur.com/SDQxvic.jpgi.imgur.com/j9nWSxX.jpgi.imgur.com/nnLnbAe.jpgVelanna said she envied the Humans for their stories, since so much of our heritage was lost to us. I gave her a blank journal and said, write your own stories. This angered her at first, but then she thought the idea had merit. i.imgur.com/wTVKmVn.jpgVelanna claimed to admire Andraste, Leliana would have liked to have heard that. Velanna is the fierce Dalish Elf that Leliana had expected me to be, I wonder what she will make of her. i.imgur.com/3fKIVEl.jpgThe only possible lead we had left, was if Kristoff, the Grey Warden who left before the attack on the keep had turned up something. Varel thought asking at the tavern in Amaranthine would be the best place to start. Nathaniel ran into a sister he had assumed was dead along with the rest of his family. She gave him her very different view of their father. i.imgur.com/uL7T7zf.jpgMischa was at the tavern, and Sigrun offered her the ring given to her by Varlan. I knew the ring meant more to Sigrun than it's monetary value and said the Grey Wardens would compensate Mischa. i.imgur.com/l7PB8AT.jpgThough the innkeeper was surprised that an Elf could be Commander or the Grey, he gave me the key to his room and told me that Sorcha had spent some time with Kristoff and might know where he was going. Sorcha didn't really tell us anything we couldn't have found out by searching his room, but she had a pretty face and the voice of a Queen. When she asked if I wanted a drink, I suggested we might have one later in private, she laughed it off, must have known I was only joking. i.imgur.com/mcUu9Cm.jpg So it looks like the Blackmarsh will be our next stop.

Just then, Nvinyyr had an... interesting experience with a wolf pack She had just finished closing a rift near to a farm, when she was attacked by some wolves... They first were a little afraid of heights and didnt climb down the rock... then... Well... (you might have to view this in full screen mode to see clearly... just keep an eye on the wolf on the left) I put it in slow motion also just because She also made it to Skyhold and met Hawke, (Hawke ) but the wolf was the highlight of course Now that was cool! Definitely some interesting visuals in Inquisition! As to Hawke, were you able to reasonably recreate what you had in DA2?

Does the reason the Architect takes Seranni ever explained? I have my guesses but that's all they are. He had the seeker bring him an untainted male and female Elf for his experiments. The seeker took it upon himself to implicate the Humans as the abductors because he wanted to see what Velanna would do. The captured Dalish male beat his own head against the wall and killed himself. Seranni who was always a very popular outgoing person, was friendly with her captors and so the Architect explained his plan to her. And presumably didn't experiment on her but kept her in the hopes of her influencing others.

The thing which puzzles me is why the bizarre tests? Why did all the Wardens they captured die in captivity.

deadlydwarfYeah, you can recreate Hawke to make him/her pretty accurate to what they looked like in DA2. You can also even use their default faces (one's without the blood smear) and customize them as well. I've run into my Hawke and I managed to do a good job of recreating her appearance. It's recognizably the same person.

I tried making adjustments, but couldn't quite get female Hawke's wonderful smirk just right. With the different engines used in each game, recreating familiar characters frequently disappoints. No one looks the same from one game to the next.

deadlydwarfIt isn't perfect, but I thought they looked pretty much like same person. I was impressed that I got as close I did. For tonight's fun: --I spent a crapload of time running around Skyhold when I first got there. My very first step was to talk to Solas. I was furthering the romance and I wanted out of that beige. Aspen looks respectable now and not like she's lounging in her pjs.
--Talked to Bull, got drunk with him. I'll be drinking with his Chargers next time I play.
--Got Cole recruited. I've already decided to make him a human. Despite the affection hit from Solas, I personally enjoy that option. I have kept Cole as a spirit before and I wasn't a huge fan. Solas will get over it, since I've gotten the romance locked.
--Chatted with Dorian and did his personal quest. I liked it. Part of the reason is pragmatic. All I have to do for the big quest is run to Redcliffe. Quick, easy and I didn't pick the "Company of men" option. Aspen is a little sheltered, but not stupid.
--Broke up the fight between Varric and Cassandra. I always chew Cass out, telling her that shoving around Varric was beneath her. I then calmed her down and got that affection back. I also had Aspen bring up the idea about the fate of the Chantry to Cass. I'm currently debating about making Cass the new Divine, or leaving that to Leliana. Both have their pros and cons, but I'm not sure how my character is going to feel about that until I'm there.
I personally prefer Cass, since she's reasonable and completely upheaving the status quo is not a great idea to me. Vivienne is too powerful and is a mage to boot. That would further destroy the Chantry. Leliana could lead it into a sort of "Golden Age," but the Chantry loves it's martyrs.
--Varric isn't an instant best friend like he was in DA2, but I enjoy having him around. He's pretty easy to get along with. After doing the mage side quest, it becomes apparent that he does have a real core of strength at his center.
--I've had Iron Bull set up as a tank. Frankly, most of the 2H fighters in DA tend to be squishy. Fenris was without some really good gear and I noticed it with Sten too. I had no problem keeping my Templar Spec'd/Templar-sympathetic Hawke alive, but with companions? Forget it. Once I get access to some guard belts I might change him back.
--Knocked out Solas' quest for his spirit friend. A memory floated into my mind about this encounter bugging out even if you did it right. Sure enough, I got rid of the bindings and the demon was still attacking. A quick reload fixed it. Solas' romance is locked in. Countdown to the worst heartbreak that my elf could ever imagine. I usually avoid tragic romances in BioWare games, but this one adds to the plot. More than I can say about Thane in ME. Anyway...
--Played chess with Cullen and also empathized with his efforts to quit lyrium. When I first did the quest (and after I finished the chain,) I tossed out a very rare Tweet. I am a former drug addict and I had to let the writer know that I thought she did an amazing job.
--Did Sera's personal mission against Lord Harmond. I heard that the bug related to her quest had been fixed, but after Solas I was feeling paranoid. The bug that I encountered was if you brought more than just her along for the quest, you couldn't talk to the noble and finish it.
I took the nobility option right away, since I had that perk. Sera's reaction gives me a chuckle and it's better than her beating the guy to death. I saw it once in-game. I made the mistake of questioning Harmond for too long. My reaction was, "Holy shit, Sera! You psycho little girl."
--Started the Exalted Plains, sticking to the south. I have some Dalish butt to finishing kissing. I've caught that damned golden calfwhite buffalohalla. Cleared out the demons around the burial grounds with a mental note to raid the place later. I still need to get them the Great Bear pelts and I haven't gotten there yet.
--I also remember why I kinda hate the Exalted Plains. It's those whiny and emo NPCs that keep bitching about the undead rising. This wouldn't be soo bad if they shut up once the zone was cleared. The history of the area is neat; I love the visuals too. However, when one of those damned NPCs says, "I hate waiting to die,"over and over again, I mute the TV. By the way, the Wardrobe is awesome. I stopped playing just after JOH came out and I never got to see it. I like the options quite a bit and it actually makes me go into my character's chambers more than 3-4 times in the game.

Or why she would let Velanna suffer not knowing where she was or telling her that she'd chosen this life and not to follow her. Add: the blight magic brought the taint along to full ghoul status. If Seranni were untainted, then how did it work on her? She should just die of the taint, especially if quickened, without the Warden joining. Yet there she is looking exactly like the Silent Sister who had been a Warden when she was Blight quickened. The whole Architect plot is dropped anyway so I guess I shouldn't let it stress me.

Nvinyyr apparently became quite powerful Before she was an ok mage not especially powerful... but now shes really powerful Basically She has armor with a thing which gives her 2 guard every time I hit an enemy Her staff heals her 14% when she kills an enemy It deals quite a lot of damage, and also has a 10% chance of doing... something. Cant remember what... but an enemy gets slashed at quite a few times by lots of ghosts or something like that and thats fun Also a ring which means shes invisible when she isnt attacking shes basically immortal I LOVE AoE spells!!! Lightning cage Cassandra acts as basically a wall, Sera shoots things from afar and Solas handles barriers Nvinyyr is "lets kill everything" member of the party... with fire and lightning AoE spells... she hasnt chosen a specialization yet but im thinking rift mage because its basically like Force Mage and Force Mage was awesome in DA2 so... Shes basically immortal and able to kill lotttsss of enemies at once I also killed the dragon in the Hinterlands!!! Good moment

Nice power to Bm have in general. I play as an assassin rogue a lot and hidden blades is in that talent pool but since its usually one of the easiest to obtain fade touched material it frees up an extra ability slot.

Male Hawke is much easier to replicate.

I didn't say it made sense. You asked if we know why Seranni was taken. All we know for certain, is what we read in the Architects Journal. The Seeker collected two elves, male and female. The rest died defending their camp. Unfortunate, but a small price to pay. The male has since dashed his head on the wall. Odd. Don't all living beings strive for survival?
The Seeker confessed that he did more than simply collect the elves. He found the elves and humans at odds, then exacerbated the conflict by making the humans look responsible for the two elves' disappearances. He said he wanted to see how the elf leader would react. Odd again.
The female elf has developed a...bond of sorts with her guard. Many of the other disciples seem drawn to her as well. The Seeker says her name is Seranni. Perhaps I should speak to her. Maybe she will understand.
And in the Architects Notes. -The female elf is accommodating, allowing me to take her blood for my work. Perhaps she thinks I'll release her if she cooperates.
-My disciples report that another elf is rampaging through the woods, killing humans. Revenge for what we did to her kind, only she hasn't seen through the Seeker's ruse. We'll keep this from Seranni. If she is upset, she may stop cooperating.
-Perhaps I should have killed it while it slept.
So firstly it beggars belief that Seranni would overlook the fact that she had seen them kill all her life long friends and befriend their murderers. She might use her charisma to make them think she was befriending them in a bid to escape. Then like you say, why wouldn't she explain things to Velanna? Seranni had spent her life keeping her less popular sister included in the group. That's why I suggested mind control, as a semi plausible explanation. The Architect is a completely unique creature and the laws that apply to other darkspawn don't necessarily apply to him. We know from the notes above, that Seranni gave blood willingly, so maybe just coming into contact with the Architect through an open wound is the reason she now looks tainted, but isn't feeling any ill effects from it. Utha has looked tainted for many decades, but her being a Grey Warden, her circumstances are different. But your right, you shouldn't let it stress you out, just play the game for what it is. Now I have just finished awakening with my dead warden, and I was last seen in Denerim with Leliana, who I had twice resurrected from death myself.

phoray I'm not sure if BW entirely dropped the Architect plot completely or not. It's an option in the Keep and most of those options seem to affect the world states. <shrug> It remains to be seen I guess. My ADD struck again. After meeting Dagna, it occurred to me that I might not have fixed my world state involving the dwarves. I looked (I'm using my hubby's Origin account instead of my own, long story,) and sure enough I hadn't addressed anything under Paragon of Her Own Kind. Now that I've fixed it, I've missed playing an archer. It's my favorite class, in case the avatar wasn't a giveaway. So now I have Rowan, the Dalish archer. Now elves are not my favorite DA race. That belongs to dwarves and Garnet Cadash will have her time to shine again. However, aside from "Who's Mythal," DA:I really has the most lore as an elf. The Solas romance is a mixed bonus.

When I last left you, I was reading Leliana's letter again, before heading into the Blackmarsh. I asked Samuel to plant roses around the keep, but I hope she gets here before they bloom. Even Leliana's effervescent spirit would be crushed in the doom and gloom that is the Blackmarsh. I left the Grey Wardens to spend what time I had left before the calling with my Orlesian bard.

Its funny when your fighters have the Grappling Chain ability and they take turns grappling the same enemy back and forth. In the Western Approach, guess I'll go kill some filthy darkspawn.

This is me, Natia Brosca, casteless duster, and the goofy one in the background is my sidekick Leske, he's not so bad really. i.imgur.com/9cCWfUz.jpgSo I'm doin' a job for my boss Beraht, and end up the first duster to fight in the proving. i.imgur.com/XtqUgUk.jpgThat's how I impressed this bloke. Leske says he's a Grey Warden, that must be what Humans call giants, he must be 6 feet tall! i.imgur.com/6nCDEQg.jpgNot everyone appreciated me winning the provings. i.imgur.com/SoTUR7D.jpgBut with Leske's help, we busted out. i.imgur.com/Z8W7YWX.jpgAnd killed Beraht before he could kill us. That's him on the left, the one without the brand. i.imgur.com/L8reORC.jpgNow this should have been a big break for us, but pinhead Leske always thinks small, and only sees the negatives. i.imgur.com/SXcK7M1.jpgIt wasn't me. Seems the warrior caste can't take a joke and are still pissed that I kicked their ass. i.imgur.com/gwOgFoM.jpgSo the Human steps in and gives me a way out. He wants me to join the Grey Wardens, I guess they're not all giants. i.imgur.com/Two1jBM.jpgRica thinks I should go, it's not like I have any other options at this point. i.imgur.com/kkncEeF.jpgSo I said, so long sucker to Leske. I would have said goodbye to Mom, but most of the time nowadays she thinks I'm Rica, so she won't miss me. i.imgur.com/kuMqv4U.jpgi.imgur.com/1xNWDpy.jpg And now I'm on the surface and hobnobbing with Kings. Oh and yeah, All humans are giants.
