From the diary of Kara TrevelyanMaybe i should have went for the mages after all... I did not count on a mental battle with a demon who was going to...what? Possess me? Copy me? Either way it was creepy and i barely survived.
Worse still I had to put up with this noble poppinjay of an Orlesian noble. And already tiring of the whole affair and wanting to be practical, I moved on from the rituals and moved to meet directly with the Templars.
The Red Templars are monstrous. We must do our best to stop this outbreak in the future. I suspect this won't be the last we see of them but they go down to arrow fire like anyone else. And Envy was horrendous but our combined might bought him down.
The Templars, leaderless, and disorganized were a shadow of what they once were. So I disbanded them. Probably would have done so either way...I really do not like the Templars, but there we go.
Afterwards returned to Haven and most of my inner circle had the same reaction i did. Shock over the demon.
Now onto the Fallow Mire? So completed Champions of the Just. And as always had an enjoyable time. Just this time I did not do the fancy rituals. Kara is a very seize the bull by the horns type of girl. She has never did the trialsin the temple of mythal, for instance. I was dissapointed that envy did not comment on the fact. He comments on the choice you did make, i thought it would indicate something about her character if she did not do so. And shocked ddoing so led to lord abarnache surviving. It was quite the jarring incident and a bit off putting to see him at the end. But Kara, in a moment of puure RP gold managed to give him a look of pure despair and said, in a tone which somehow combined that despair with a hint of her wit. "Don't worry, we still need you." Quick question, i can never remember where you get the tier three schematic for the dragon bow. Answering that question might really effecct the pace of the rest of the PT.

I use flickr and copy/paste direct photo links here. I suspect you copy/paste your direct link into the insert image box. and that [img scr= is why phoray can see it on her phone, but also why we can't click on it to see it full screen. In the case of your pics it doesn't matter as the top image is actual size, and the bottom one is only reduced from 1024x576 to 907x510 But in the case of Natashina's screenshot of Morrigan, I have to lean forward in my chair to read the writing (yeah I probably need glasses), but being able to double click on it and see it at 1920 x 1080 I can read it easily & the picture looks much better. The bottom image of Natashina's post, where they are sitting around the table is what I call a direct link. I've highlighted it in lavender. The ones above it have [img in front of them, but can still be viewed in full screen ( highlighted in pink ) I'm wondering if this allows phoray to see them as images on her phone and not just links. I'm also wondering if people viewing them on phones with a different browser see them as images or links.

I finished up Trespasser. My qunari lady married her true love Sera and pledged to redeem Solas, if she can. She was good friends with everyone in the Inquisition and treated everyone with respect. I've been through this game so many times and I'm still discovering new dialogue with followers. This time it was from Blackwall something about escorting an Orlesian noble through the Deep Roads and an explosion. The sound was all wonky so it was hard to hear the whole thing.

I'm seeing the same problem as phoray on my phone. I can see your pic of Leliana and Kipper's pic of Josie. But Natashina and DeadlyDwarf's photos come up as imugr links. When I'm on my laptop, I can see everyone's photos just fine.

I pondered. Shroud having sympathy for the grey wardens was understandable. Solas freaking out about the 'old gods'. Morrigan saying maybe Corypheus got into one of the 'ancient prisons'. Oh wait, you know something about that? Many ponders.

When I'm on my laptop, I can see everyone's photos just fine. That's a bummer, I was hoping you would be able to see the top 3 of Natashina's pics on a phone. On leaving the wilds, we were attacked by a group of darkspawn. The mabari hound I had muzzled back in Ostagar had got free and joined us in the fight. I had always wanted a mabari. As a little girl I had a stuffed mabari toy, but dad gave it to Shianni when she came to live with us. I was probably too old for toys by then anyway. Much better to have the real thing, once I train him not to lick my face. We were confronted in the Dane's Refuge tavern by a group of Loghain's soldiers. They were blaming the grey wardens for the defeat at Ostagar. It was then I first met Sister Leliana. I couldn't have known at the time, that this softly spoken sister was the fearsome heroine that my mother told me had freed her from the Arl's dungeon years earlier. She was trying to defuse the situation, but when the commander told his men to kill the sister, she drew her dagger and let fly. With his men slain, the commander begged for mercy. Leliana pleaded his case and I let him go. I tried to capture that sly look Leliana gives you after she convinces the revered mother to give her the key, but I just missed it. We went to soldiers peak and got Alister some Warden Commander armour I did the quests around Denerim & let Marjolaine go. And we picked up Shale. I think I'll get Wynne next.

I've been playing a dwarf commoner and so far I like it. I go past Loathering. I want to play a bit more stern, gruff, but not a complete jerkass character. I'm hoping to make him my second canon character, but we'll see. I don't know whether to romance him with Leliana or Morrigan.
I'm also replaying my Surana character.

Bruenor is just about ready to attempt closing the breach.
He thought about getting the mages to help, but didn't really feel like playing the role of bait. He's already the center of attention enough as it is. So, off he marched to Therinfal Redoubt to either make the Lord Seeker see sense or go around him and recruit the Templars without his blessing. Well, that didn't go exactly as planned either since Bruenor still ended up as bait. The "Lord Seeker" was actually an envy demon, and its envy had increased quite a bit since the encounter in Val Royeaux. It had overseen the corruption of the higher ranked templars by giving them red lyrium, and now it wanted to be Bruenor instead of the Lord Seeker.
The demon tried to trap Bruenor inside his own mind but help came in the form of a strange young man named Cole. Cole told Bruenor how to weaken the demon enough that he could kick it out of his head. When Bruenor came back to reality, the demon revealed itself to the rest. The remaining Templars, a few lieutenants and most of the rank and file, breached the demon's barrier defense, allowing Bruenor and his team to take it out. Cole even helped during the fight. After one pointed look at the Breach, Bruenor recruited the Templars as allies to help seal it.
Back at Haven, preparations got underway for the arrival of the Templars. No one knew how many would be coming, so arrangements were made through various sources to secure a steady supply of lyrium - the good stuff, not that rotten red crap. The Chantry didn't look too kindly on anyone other than themselves controlling any surface lyrium, but since the Templars were no longer part of the Chantry, they were more than entitled to find their own sources with which to do their jobs.
While awaiting the arrival of the most senior Templars who would help close the breach, Bruenor decided to tie up a few loose ends. He finally managed to close the 3 remaining rifts in the Hinterlands (take that, shade hordes and rage demons ) and was able to survive a dragon encounter long enough to pick up the last few shards in the area. He also went back to the Fallow Mire to raid the vault of the weathered castle, once the masterwork lock-picks finally arrived (i.e. I finally added the Deft Hands perk). Lastly, he found a merchant in Val Royeaux who sold blank runestones, so the blacksmiths were able to make him some runes from the demon goo he's found all over the place.
**** I haven't gone to the Oasis yet. I like going there before picking a side because it's so peaceful with no Venatori there yet. But, it's such a long ways away, it's hard to head-canon a good reason to go so far out there when there are pressing things to do closer to Haven. So, this time I'll wait until I have a more important reason to be out in the middle of nowhere.

After blocking off the last of the Darkspawn tunnels, Katriel and her companions went after the Red Templars who had established themselves in an abandoned port that they likely intended to make operational. They had also begun to grow Red Lyrium there as well. Together, the team defeated all the Red Templars defending this port and Varric used his skill for using explosives and making traps to destroy the Red Lyrium nodes. They then took a row boat to Dragon Island located northwest of the Storm Coast and believed to be the lair of the Vinsomer dragon they had seen fighting a giant during their first trip to the Storm Coast. Sure enough, they found the dragon waiting for them: i.imgur.com/gnewWQk.pngThe Vinsomer breathes electricity, so the team took with them electricity resistant gear and electric resistance potions. (They also had their weapons enchanted with Dragon-slaying runes made from materials collected at the Hissing Wastes.) i.imgur.com/juK24hh.pngAfter a short but fierce fight, the dragon lay vanquished. i.imgur.com/s6euhhX.png Natashina Note the weapon Sera was armed with during this fight: Under Katriel's leadership, the Inquisition had successfully cleared the Hinterlands, the Fallow Mire, the Hissing Wastes, and now the Storm Coast. They now had to finish operations in the Exalted Plains, the Emerald Grazes, and the Emprise de Leon, along with some smaller side operations. Once those are complete, they will finally be able to go to the Western Approach to look for the Champion and Stroud.

I had my first Dragon Age dream! Too bad any of the cast of sexy male LIs weren't there.
It was like a combination of Evangeline and her brother from The Calling and Galahariel and his sister from the Last Flight. I was the sister, either way. And had been researching a cure for The Calling, which is really a Taint cure. Anyway, I was using a microscope, so that was a bit lore breaking. Even though I didn't find the cure. I did figure out that it was very similar to cancer, and that was a break through I was excited about. I told my brother (at this point, I definitely remember him being elven) that I was closer to the Cure than I'd hoped and asked him to hold on. But he said the Calling was too strong. HE was too tired. He couldn't wait anymore. And he's have to head to the Deep Roads within the next couple days.
I was sad. I felt like we could have attempted a few treatments before he left.
That was the end of the dream.

Well, Anthony Hawke seems to have managed to charm everyone...maybe not Aveline...but Anders,Varric, Isabela, Fenris (!?) and Merrill all think he's great. For the first time ever Isabela showed up at the end of act2 and then in act3. Took two attempts to duel the Arishok: Ant got stuck in a corner or more accurately wedged between a wall and a qunari guard. Ant was powerless as the dog continued to bite the Arishok in the butt but to no avail. There's nothing more irritating than watching 7 feet of horned qunari smugly chugging down a health potion while your vision goes red. I reloaded and did much the same to him, not that i could wedge him between a wall and one of my henchpeople, but I did manage to neck a potion shortly before killing the great git.
Ah, Act 3. Time to verbally abuse Meredith and enjoy whatever Isabela's got planned, for a change. Ant went along and helped Fenris deal with a blast from his past and helped Isabela find a new boat. If only Kirkwall was always this breezy.

Last night, I played DAI and finished up the Hissing Wastes. Listening to Blackwall (Thom Rainer's) stories while exploring the Tomb of Fairel was interesting, because during previous PTs, Iron Bull is the one making comments. He's not in Mattias' run though. The Sandy Howler and Highland Ravager high dragons were finally slain as well, then it was off to the Arbor Wilds.
Aside from Blackwall and Cassandra, Vivienne tagged along for the first time in this main story quest. So, it was also interesting to hear her comments and her bickering with Morrigan. Mattias didn't bother completing the rituals and stormed the Temple of Mythal, taking down all of the Venatori and Sentinel Elves. Abelas was killed by Morrigan and the lady Inquisitor fought Calpernia to the death even after telling her about Corypheus' schemes. When it came to who was going to drink from the well, Mattias stole that opportunity from the witch. The lady didn't trust Morrigan the entire time even if she was a liason. Blackwall (Thom Rainier) was displeased of his beloved's decision, but Cassandra and Vivienne insisted it was for the best.
Returning to Skyhold to meet with her advisors, Mattias started hearing voices in her head, telling her to venture to Mythal's altar. For what purpose? She didn't know. Only one way to find out.

Male Trevelyan Rogue: I'm pretty far along. Into Trespasser now. About to get the primers. Or trying to. Running into a problem that I've learned is common: it won't let me place one of the detonators. No spot for me to place it appears though my map shows I'm in the right place. Also, though I've destroyed three of the platforms (acknowledged on my maps) the game thinks only two have been blown. So even if I destroy this last platform the game will potentially not let me move forward. So, I may never finish Trespasser. Really wish there was a plot editor for DAI on the level of the save game editors by gibbed. This could let me change the game so that it assumes I've placed those detonators.

OK, since I can't make Trespasser work on DA:I, I decided to start a new campaign for DA2. This is Connor Hawke, a mage (first time in this role). Chose not to import an existing history from DA:O and went with "Hero of Ferelden" backstory. It's probably not terribly different from my PT but since the Warden never again appears in DA it probably doesn't matter.
Fleeing from darkspawn along with my mother, my sister Bethany (a mage, like me) and my brother Carver. The horde is endless. Along the way we cross paths with Aveline Vallen and her husband, Ser Wesley. We save them. Wesley was badly injured and he's a Templar, which makes him dangerous to myself and Bethany. In his eyes we're rogue mages, apostates. It's true, since we were never part of any of the mage circles but we're not the blood mages he likely thinks us to be.
Things got rough when we faced an ogre. It was tougher than anything we'd fought so far. Unfortunately, Bethany didn't survive the battle. To his credit, the Templar did commend her soul to the Maker's side. Then the darkspawn came again. It was likely we were all going to share my sister's fate. Then a dragon appeared and attacked them. It was confusing because dragons are, so far as I know, archdemons. Why would they fight against their own kind? Once the darkspawn were slaughtered the dragon transformed into a old woman, her hair shaped almost like horns. She was a witch. The Witch of the Wilds, to be exact, also known as Flemeth. She offered to get us to safety if we would deliver something for her. We weren't in a position to say no. Wesley had also been gravely wounded and was infected with darkspawn blood. He would turn before long. I helped him end his life before that happened.
We headed to Kirkwall, the "City of Chains". We had family and an estate there. It was full of Templars but it least it was safe from the darkspawn. Problem was that there were so many refugees fleeing from the darkspawn that they were denying anyone entrance.

Today, I finished Mattias' main story run and there were some surprises along the way! First off, Mattias, Blackwall, Sera and Dorian rescued Sutherland and his group out in the Storm Coast after receiving word from Leliana that they went missing. Then regrouping in Skyhold, the lady Inquisitor caught up with some of her inner circle. Varric and Sera were disgusted about her drinking from the well of sorrows. Vivienne had a few comments to say about the well and who's going to be the next Divine. Surprisingly, Solas managed to have a civil conversation with Mattias! Yes, Solas! Even though they hated each other's guts! When the time came to go to Mythal's altar, Mattias was accompanied by Blackwall, Sera and Vivienne. Another surprise came when Morrigan decided to stick around and watch the fireworks, wanting to see who Mythal really was. To her shock and horror, it turned out to be mommy dearest, Flemeth. Mattias didn't waste time with pleasantries and got down to business demanding how the Inquisition can defeat Corypheus. Flemeth, being all powerful and mysterious, summoned the guardian dragon to challenge our heroine. Before leaving, Morrigan remarked she was happy she didn't drink from the well, and that the Inquisitor now has to answer her mother's commands much to Mattias' irritation. As for taming the guardian dragon, it was a piece of cake for the lady Inquisitor and her team. After all, they defeated ten high dragons. The only difference was this dragon was fighting on the Inquisition's side. Finally, Mattias faced down against Corypheus at the Temple of Sacred Ashes. It was a long and hard fought battle, but she and her party emerged victorious. While the rest of the inner circle gathered at the ruins after the fight, for the first time, Varric made a comment about the breach being finally sealed. During previous runs, it was either Morrigan or Cole making such a note. Returning to Skyhold, a huge victory celebration was held in our heroes' honour and Mattias got to spend a quiet moment with her beloved Blackwall (Thom Rainier). After all the pomp and circumstance was over, the biggest shock came when Vivienne was announced as Divine! A Mage of all people to succeed the late Divine Justinia! It was blasphemous! There were high hopes for Cassandra to become Divine, because of her close ties to the Chantry, Templar Order and rebuilding the Seekers. But Vivienne?! Mattias was seething! "All this time... Calling me My Dear and giving thoughtful advice! I should've seen this coming!" Karma's coming back to bite her in the arse. Maybe a revolution will be started... So, that's the end of Mattias' story for now. Going back to what happened to Blackwall in Revelations, he was forgiven for his crimes and remained by his lady's side. Mattias never wanted to let him go, because she still loved him. Moving on, I played a bit as my canon DW Assassin, Natalia, who previously completed an encore main story and Jaws of Hakkon run. She was running solo in the Hissing Wastes, easily taking down a couple stray Venatori groups and random wyvern. Speaking of Wyverns, it was MATING SEASON! Why? Nat came across a wyvern that appeared to be glitching out. But when she attacked with hidden blades, that single wyvern turned out to be three of them humping each other! Maker have mercy.... this happened more than once in different parts of the vastly desert! At least Natalia gathered enough leather to craft new sets of armour

So I got to the end of the Tower of Ishal today (for like, the 7th time or something), and the Ogre killed me for the first time since the ... first time. I clearly have become complacent.

I feel your pain about the area, for different reasons, but that place is horrible. Out of curiosity, did you try reloading and seen if the problem persist? I tried a lot of things before I ever ever found this board. Just to update, and this could work for Jayden Trevelyan...I reloaded a much earlier save (the autosave from when I entered the Deep Roads) and went through it all again. At this point, I noticed the message saying a mage could explode a detonator that had been placed. Managed to place a detonator this time (couldn't do so last time) and then used Dorian to explode it. It went smooth from then on out, allowing Jayden, Varric, Cassandra (who is the Divine) and Dorian to move forward! OK, I'm going to try to finish this up. I'll report back when I have more to say.

Bruenor sealed the breach, got attacked by Venatori and the Elder One, and buried Haven in an avalanche. Found a new home called Skyhold.
Ran around talking to everyone (except Varric) and finding everything. Sync'd the nug so I'd have seeds, decorations and the rest of the potion recipes, then got busy planting. Rather than my typical blood lotus, I went with witherstalk and dragonthorn right off the bat so I can further upgrade the grenades. Brought in Dagna, Farris, and the trainers. Now comes the hard part of picking a spec. I think I'm gonna go with Artificer again, even if it borks Varric's dialogue. Blowing stuff up is just too much fun.
I did Sutherland's first mission - have to make sure I don't mess that quest line up this time. Also did Sera's march but not the follow-up yet.
Next up: Heading back to the Storm Coast to look into darkspawn sightings, then Venatori-hunting with Dorian.

Random pics from my last several days' worth of playing:
Bruenor and Varric with a double leaping shot. I think this was before I recruited anyone else.
At Therinfal, I ended up with 3 Templars (Barris + 2 more) tagging along. I don't recall that happening before.
This happened right after I picked up the bear claw quest. Went down the hill from camp, saw one bear and attacked it. Before the first volley landed - poof! Two more bears instantly appeared.
This is why the trebuchets don't work for shite during IYHSB. This one isn't even built yet, just before heading off to seal the breach.
I've been playing with subtitles off (which only works most of the time) since I have a tendency to read the dialogue rather than watch what's going on. Here is Dorian getting in Cullen's face about his horrible "scorched Haven" plan.
Bruenor really hates being bait. When do I finally get to flirt with Scout Harding? I haven't had any options for it yet.
Lord Trifles in color. I usually only see him in the tavern up where Cole's at. I had no idea his outfit was so....eh, bright?

Jayden Trevelyan (who, for the sake of backstory, married Cullen):
My companions heading into the Shattered Library were Vivienne, Iron Bull and Sera. It required passing through many eluvian. I brought Iron Bull in large part because he was removed from the Qun and we were fighting a qunari plot. It just made sense. We had to track down the Viddasala, the one leading this attempt to dismantle power in the south (Orlais and Ferelden).
We returned to the Winter Palace to warn the Exalted Council of the "Dragon's Breath". Turns out a qunari spy (an elf of Orlasian origin) had unloaded the gaatlok that had come in with the Inquisition's supplies. It showed how far-reaching this plot was. In any case, they were all elves who had converted to the Qun following he destruction in Kirkwall. My Mark was also acting up, causing my great pain.
Back through the eluvian, this time with Cole, Thom Ranier and Dorian. I had to activate the portal to Darvaarad. I wasn't sure I had much longer I had to live but wanted to end this threat if I could. Meanwhile, Leliana would inform the Exalted Council in case I failed.
According to Cole, the Veil wants to go back where it belongs but is trapped in me. That accounts for the pain. Also found out the Dragon's Breath was an actual captured dragon. In theory, I could have freed the dragon, but it's too dangerous. You never know if you're looking at an archdemon. When I caught up to Viddasala, she accused me of working with agents of Fen'Harel. When I denied it, she said that Solas was one of his chief agents. She also said I would have died had Solas not prevented the Mark from killing me. She intended to kill Solas but I decided that I would deal with him. Whatever else Solas is, he helped save the world from that breach. He at least deserves the opportunity to explain himself. Cole also trusts him, saying he "isn't that kind of wolf".
I went through one final eluvian and found a dozen qunari transformed into stone. I watched with my own eyes Solas casually transforming Viddasala into stone. When I fell to my knees in agony he did something to cause the Mark to subside. He said it would give us more time. Then he explained that while, yes, he was Fen'Harel, he was Solas first. Calling him a trickster god was meant as an insult. His only goal had been to free the elves slaves. The creation of the Veil, which kept the elves from contact with the Fade, led to their mortality. He told me of his plan to restore the elves but ending the Veil. Unfortunately, it would also destroy the world. Yet, he continued to stop the qunari from harming me even after leaving the Inquisition. I truly believe he cares about me and all things in the world but he desire to see the elves restored is a greater love.
In the end, I severed my arm from the elbow to save my life. Then I formally disbanded the Inquisition, saying that it had done what it set out to do. Cullen and I retired to the countryside. However, we were not planning to ignore Solas. Those of us who could met in private to plot against him. It looked like we'd have to branch out to find allies who didn't know our tactics. Tevinter seemed like the place to go. We had one ally there - Dorian, who had become a Magister in the place of his father. He was trying to redeem his homeland, even as the qunari had left the south to renew their war against Tevinter. Still, they seemed likely allies.

That's interesting; I think I've done Champions of the Just two or three times and all the Templars remain in that main hall while your team goes searching. I wonder if you accidently did something to get them to follow? In any case, that's appropriate. You're there both to get their help with the breach and to help them throw off evil influences. As to the bears, do you have the bears trial on? Ever since I click on that trial, I can't go anywhere in the Hinterlands -- except for Redcliffe -- and not get assaulted by at least two or three bears. (At least I didn't have a shortage of tier 2 leather!)

Yeah, it was kinda cool. It may be that whenever we came upon groups fighting that we took out the reds quickly enough that some of the regulars survived and were then able to join up.
Yes, the bear trial is on. The bear claw quest is what triggers the appearance of large bears, so you can harvest the claws. I make sure to not pick up that note until I'm at a high enough level to not get demolished by them. Of course, when they gang and sneak up on you, there's not much you can do. I just did another stint in the Storm Coast and we must have taken out at least a half dozen bears - regular ones, not large.
