I'm on my 6th PT of Inquisition at the moment which is a random playthrough.
My character (chance decided for me to play a female dwarf who is a dual-wield rogue by the name of Dagna) went to the Hinterlands to get her mount. She quickly completed those three races and then went on to kill the possessed wolfs. After that she marked the spots for the watchtowers, then went back to Haven to get them built.
After playing around with wartable missions she went to choose her mount (well, I rolled the dice) and picked the Red Hart (or whatever its name is). Great, I hate the sound these things make when you gallop.
Then she and her current party of Blackwall, Solas and Sera were off for the Storm Coast to meet with The Iron Bull, who joined the Inquisition.
Since they were already in the area, Dagna and her companions cleared the Coast of the Blades of Hessarian and challenged their leader. When he was dead they decided to track down the Grey Wardens that were rumored to be around, but they only found their deserted camps.
For some reason (probably the bad weather) they returned to the Hinterlands and finished off the templars and mages at their respective encampments. As always, the fight against the mages was a total clusterf... but they all survived, if barely, and left the cave with bloody noses.

--Did the Fade scene with Solas and got the romanced Tarot card. Ouch. I had heard about the romance outcome. I knew that he removes the slave markings upon request and then backs off. I did not expect the animation to be so well done. Rowan looked absolutely devastated. The way she goes, "Solas, don't leave me alone" almost made me cry. She was never truly from the city. She was never truly apart of the Dalish either, but she thought she could always go back home. Now she can't. Something in her grew up and changed forever. --Then her day got worse when she talked to Sera. Yeah, getting your heart smashed, then having a rather naive hothead draw an arrow down on you, then getting laughed at? I remember why I didn't like Sera at first. I'm very glad I waited this long to do the romance. I was pretty livid when she did that to my dwarf. --Then the next day she tracks down Morrigan's munchkin in the Fade only to meet Mythal. She just had Mythal's markings removed after becoming her servant. She was polite, if only to have me hear Flemeth complement my character on her manners for the 3rd game in a row. I have to say that it was a lot more interesting as a elf to meet Flemeth this time around. Her being Mythal or at least one of the Old Gods was a popular bit of speculation that I'm glad to see come to frution. Too bad stupid Solas had to go and ruin my other favorite theory. The Maker was actually the Dread Wolf. Nope, he's a grim and fatalistic elf. With no hair. Anyone find it funny that someone called the Dread Wolf is bald? Or is it just me? <hears crickets> --Played a fun game of "How to Train Your Dragon: Thedas Edition." My anti-living bow make the fight pretty quick. --I'm now pausing on Rowan for about a day or so. I might end up beating the game after I get home on Friday or Saturday. I want to finish the HoF War Table mission and I have a little over 8 1/2 hrs left to go. I'll probably continue either my male dual wielding rogue or my lady warrior. Next Time! --The easiest boss fight in the game. Seriously, he's just annoying. --Having a feast with friends, before going to her room alone. --While realizing that Solas broke his promise (for now) to explain things. --Being a Trepasser. Seriously, can't Rowan just get a ticket or something? --The movie "Idle Hands*" Thedas-style. *It was a rather terrible but fun horror comedy that Seth Green acted in. The main character has his hand possessed by the devil and starts killing people. By the end, it's trying to kill him too.Jeez. Next time I'm romancing Bull again, or completing a Cullen romance. This is kinda depressing.

--"Who's Mythal?" No, I'm not picking that question Sadly, you don't get a choice in the matter since it's auto-dialogue. The only way I know to avoid it (other than closing your eyes and plugging your ears during that scene) is to use the "Yes we know about Mythal" mod. I don't mind my non-elfy Inquisitors being ignorant, but I always use it now when I play an elf.
Except for my first character, a rogue, all my elf quizzies drank from the Well. Despite being bound to Mythal and possibly Solas, I still love telling Morrigan to stfu since I have the power of the Well and she doesn't. She gets so bent out of shape about it, it's hilarious.
Melbella, before I screw up, how do you install the "Mythal" mod? Into the override folder as you do with DAO? Or are mods for DAI installed differently?

deadlydwarfThe Mod Manager on Nexus is what I used. The program is very easy to use. Simply plug in the mods from any folder (mine is on D:/DA Mods) and hit merge. If the mods are compatible, everything should go through just fine. Granted, it's been over a year, but mod creators are good about making sure everything stays working.

Yeah, I'm no help either. DA2 is my favorite out of the series and I own the game on the PC. If it wasn't for the fact that they want $40 for the main game plus around another $30 for Sebastian, MotA and Legacy on the PS3, I'd go for it.
I do think that DA2 has the best cast overall. I truly love DA:I. I wouldn't have bought it all over again for the console if I didn't. Bull is probably one of my all-time favorite characters in the series. However, Isabela is very high on that list as well. I was a Varricmancer until his writer dashed my day-dreams.
If you feel like it, go for it! We want to read your PoV and see screenshots if you can upload them. Trust me, if you want folks to discourage you from playing any DA game, you're in the wrong thread.
I miss some of my Hawkes. No matter what I did, they always looked like Mila Johovich with black hair. Not that I had a problem with that. She's smoking hot.

Modding appears to be different with DAI versus DAO. Have a nice Thanksgiving in your foray up north! You made it sound it sound like Emprise de lion minus the Red Templars. Judging from your profile pic, you'll at least be properly dressed!

From the diary of Kara Trevelyan. Met with Hawke, and she had dire information for me. Corypheus can influence the minds of Grey Wardens. I have grown up loving the Wardens. Out of all the groups in Thedas they were the only ones who seemed above the petty politics of old. And the stupid religious infighting. A single group dedicated to saving the world from an all inclusive threat. The thought they could become corrupted? And meanwhile thanks to Mother Giselle and Cassandra I am finding my disdain for the chantry wasn't as justified as I thought. That there are truly good people within.
With this in mind it was off to Crestwood to meet with Hawke's Warden contact. But in our way... undead and bandits. I am starting to think all we face are bandits and zombies.
Regardless, we took the keepfrom said bandits. Now to deal with the undead. I admit i nearly had a heart attack. When Kara showed up to Crestwood in her casualwear. thought i sold her new armor. i didn't, and after making sure I had the right stuff equipped i set out. I think this is going to work out. At least for the forseable future. Set a new record for damaga dealt, 2900ish. And about to dive into the caves.

Melbella, before I screw up, how do you install the "Mythal" mod? Into the override folder as you do with DAO? Or are mods for DAI installed differently?
Looks like Natashina answered your question but I'll just add a couple things.
Mods come in a couple different formats: .daimod, which you can just save in your mod folder, and zip files. You have to unzip the packed ones first, and sometimes they come with multiple options. I used to put them all in my mod folder but now I try to keep separate folders with all the options and just copy over the one I want to use in my current game to the mod folder. You don't have to do that, but if you have all the options in the mod folder, they all show up in Mod Manager and you have to "unselect" all the options you don't want to use.
Make sure the Mod Manager is in a different folder than your mods. Things might get wonky otherwise.
You can only use one mod set at a time. By that I mean, say you have two PTs going at once and want to use a PJ mod for each of them. If they are the same race/gender, the same mod set will work. However, if they are different (or even if you just want a different color) then you will have to set up different mod patch files, one for each character, and swap them out if you switch. In other words, you can't have multiple options of the same thing in a single mod patch.
Read the descriptions and also the most recent comments carefully. Some mods don't work with the latest patches (and haven't been updated yet) and some have been replaced with new versions that are compatible. One example of this is the inventory mod, which lets you have more inventory space (I cried when I couldn't use this one anymore, but it got updated so - yay!)
Happy modding!

Finished Act 2 with Reinhardt Hawke (Act 1 here, just screenshots)A few months ago: Barely three years passed ever since we arrived to Kirkwall as refugees, and now my family's name is well known in town again, this makes mother a bit happier, but I can't believe, that compensate her for loss of Carver and kidnap of Bethany. Yesterday we stopped for a beer in The Hanged Man. The Grey Warden, Alistair sat in the corner, as often. He growled something at us, and then fell lethargy again. Poor man! Anders told his story. A few minutes later, a fereldan looking nobleman (perhaps bann Teagan? – he looks familiar) approached him and, after a less hassle, he politely escorted him. On the way back I took a detour to the Anders' clinic. Isabela was here, but don't really wanted to know why. When she left, Anders frowned; he seemed more nervous than usual. He said that templars snooping around the clinic. I'm worries about him. I can not let them to take him away from me; I lost too much already! I realize, I fell in love, but he as well? Sometimes I feel that, but he is weird. Nevermind. I will protect him from everything! At home a letter waiting for me. Arianni wrote, that Feynriel in trouble. Again. Once you help someone, you stay forever in his debt! Okay, let's go! In the Fade... fuck. But I'm not a mage! No matter, Anders will help. Fenris said, this is not for our-kind, and I do not want to scare him, so, I ask Merrill and Varric. In the Fade Anders turned into Justice. Justice was friendly, he mentioned, that Anders spoke about me. This is a really weird place, almost weirder than Kirkwall... almost. The first demon with which we met, offered an alliance. Justice spoke from this creature, and warned me. Yes, yes, I know, I will be watchful. But... why not? This thing may can help me. Okay, I will deal with this, let's see what it have to offer, and later I will... Justice asked me again, to avoid having to fight me. But no! NO! I already decided! Stop Justice, step back from MY business! NOW! But he didn't... I killed... ANDERS! What I did?! Damn the foolish spirit! Damn me! I just promised to protect him, from everything. Except myself. Merrill also betrayed me, for this creature of pride. What happened with us? Justice was right; ofc he was... I need to be watchful. Feynriel still need my help. I promised. I found him, but here behind him the demon. "Wake up, Feynriel, you can do it! Get hold of yourself!" Of course, Torpor was not happy, but we killed it. Feynriel went to Tevinter to study. His nightmare ended. But my? Perhaps Fenris was right, this is not my place. I almost failed. What happened with Anders? And Merrill? Damn! Go back ro Arianni! Oh, thanks the Maker, Anders live, and Merrill as well! Arianni was grateful, but Anders seems sad. I've never seen him like this, unless in the Chantry when he killed Karl. I must visit him. Immediately! I see, this will be hard. It was easier than I thought. Anders wanted to believe me. Anders was relieved when I told him what had happened, but none of us will forget this ever. He talked about Justice again, and that he understands how difficult can be to him, away from the fade, closed in a body, impotently. I think I'm starting to understand them. Merrill also fine, relatively. Asked me, to help to fix this strange mirror. Why not, this seems interesting... I hope, she will be more careful. Go to Sundermount! On the way we ambushed. The slave-hunters found Fenris. They was pretty easy prey, but the danger has not yet ceased. Fenris told, that Danarius' apprentice will not give up, we need to find her. Okay, maybe it's more urgent than Merrill's mirror. Let's go. Hadriana dead, Fenris breathe freely. It was hard, but I think I made friends with him, but still seems, he never will accept Anders. I wonder what he think about Bethany? I still hope that I can free her from the Circle... We went back to the mountain. It looks Merrill terrified her clan. One of them died because of this fear. Weird. Finally I gave the knife to Merrill. I do not think it would be right to hold back. A few days later i visited Anders again. He was upset, just as more and more often. I wish I could be able calm him somehow! He spoke about a mad, cruel templar, called Alrik, and his "Tranquil Solution". Hey! I know this name: Bethany wrote about him as someone who dangerous, and even Anders told, that he was, who tranquilised Karl. Easily convinced me. We went to a secret tunnel, what is used by the mage underground. It was not hard to find the Templar, he just threatened a girl. Anders lost the control over himself, and Justice came out again. Ser Alrik died pretty quickly. I think many people will sleep better in the Circle. But Justice now did not retreated. The girl called him demon... I shouted. "Hey, do not kill her! She is a mage, we came to protect her!" Oh, fuck, succeed. Anders himself again, but broken, and ran away. As we got back to Darktown, I sent the girl to home. Nobody will go back to this awful place, if depend on me! And I will get Bethany out of there, I swear! Whatever it takes! But Anders need me. I've never seen Anders so depressed! I assured him that he can control it: he or Justice, or both listened to me. He was grateful, though was still sad. Later I will definitely coming back. It looks like he's calmed down a bit. I am glad. Finally, we could talk about happier things. Before I left, he admitted that he is also attracted to me, and suddenly kissed me. Then he talked about all sorts of nonsense, but I assured him, that I really know what he is, and I still love him and look forward him evening. He has come. I know I would do anything for him, until we die... The next day I visited Aveline, I don't saw her since she became guard captain. She gave a strange job. Revealed, that she love a guardsman, named Donnic. Maker, she unbelievable lame! It would be painful to write, so I will not. Perhaps Varric will. Point is that they are happy together. By the way Varric... Once he worried enough because of Anders and me, he told me, that he found Bartrand. So: let's kill speak with him! Bartrand rented a mansion in the Hightown. I called Fenris and Anders, and we went to visit him. Varric kicked the door, and we entered. Crazed guards attacked us. We did a huge massacre in the house, but there was no other choice. Finally we found Bartrand. He was totally mad. He spoke about some "song" and the idol, and ask Varric do not let shame their family. Anders cleared his mind him for a while, but told, he can't do more for Bartrand. Something evil power poisoned his mind. If Bartrand would not be dwarf, Anders would suspect somekind magic. Bartrand need of care throughout his future life. I assume, Varric did not desired such retribution. When I got home, uncle Gamlen talked with Bodahn. He was worried about mother, because she had not visited him. Bodahn said that she maybe spend some time with her suitor, who sent that nice white lilies. Shit! That too familiar. Ser Emeric spoke about the white lilies, related the missed women. I don't think that's a good sign. The traces led to the abandoned foundry. Blood everywhere. And this smell! What the hell going on?! Demons. Again. Where are the crazy mages? Today still barely seen a few! An altar. The crazy mages must be here somewhere. But our family crested shield do not! A gray-haired mage appeared. He began complacently explain the relationship between the immortal love and the necromancy. It was totally absurd, but somehow I could not laugh. I was incredibly angry, but I tried to control myself. "I got it, you are crazy. But where is my mother?" He proudly pointed to a chair, in which a white figure seated with her back to us. The figure turned around and walked slowly toward us. A walking corpse. And then I recognized its face. Mother! The rest I can not describe. Somehow I arrived home, I spoke with uncle Gamlen. Later, I went up to the bedroom. Anders was there with me. He is all that remained for me. And Bethany. but she isn't safe. My stomach clenched. A few weeks later a message came, from the Baron. He want to see me. And what I want? Like everyone else: a cold beer, a quiet evening with my love, and at least one fucking day without damn demons and mad people! Nevermind. Go to the Baron! He afraid, he would lose his son, because of qun, and the Arishok will use his son against him, against Kirkwall. Great. Go to the Arishok. According the Arishok I need to search Seamus in the Chantry. Petrice. Again. The chantry was empty, only Seamus knelt above, behind the railing. He was dead. Petrice appeared with her dirty Templars and some fanatical idiots. It was easy to kill them. By the time the Grand Cleric came out, the fight ended, just Petrice remained alive, but she also did not long enjoyed the privilege. A qunari archer entered in the Chantry, and executed her. His son's death broke the Baron. I arrived home. Isabela fought with Aveline in the living room. Well, this was almost funny. Aveline complained about some elves and the Arishok, and Isabela told, that someone will kill her, for that fucking artifact. Isabela problem seemed more urgent... We found the artifact, the Tome of Koslun. The qunari sacred book. And Isabela ran away with it. I'm sure that will be war. And seems I'm the eye of the storm. Oh, fuck! Now it is all one. Go to Arishok! Of course the Arishok not extradited the elves. And because of this fucking book he launched a war against the city. We ran toward the Hightown. Along the way, joined Anders and Fenris. Anders was worried about me. Sweet Maker, how I love him and how I will ... if we will survive this mess! Everywhere, everione fight. Corpses lying on the streets. A qunari mage almost killed me. A high ranked Templar saved me, a woman. Knigh Commander Meredith. I should be grateful... Fortunately, there is no time to show my "gratitude". Mages. The First Enchanter. Bethany! I'm so glad to see her, that I'm able to say only a stupid joke about the family reunification... We need to get to the palace, but the qunari swarming everywhere! We must to distract them. The First Enchanter offers his help. His fireballs removed the guards from the entrance. Good. We got in. Here were also a mess. The Arishok beheaded the Baron. He spotted us. The Arishok willing to negotiate with me. Because of the book they have been here for many years. But Isabela took the book away. Deadlock. The door swings open. Spectacular entree, Isabela! Isabela? What the... happened? She brought back the book. The Arishok is happy, everyone can go home! As I imagined... But he wants Isabela as well. NO! Then he want to duel. Okay, let's dance! Fucking strong the bastard! But not impossible. I hope if he die, the qunari will go away, and we live happily ever after ... Worse than this would not possible ever! This thought gave me the strength. To be continued...

Mostly I studied until my brain hurt today. But as I was laying my usual amount of imagination induced insomnia, I did settle on a personality for my canon Anders mance Hawke. A chaotic DW rogue fem hawke who makes jokes and plays tricks to lift people's spirits. Adores Carver. Runs about with bravado and conviction and gets real loud, with big smiles, and almost drinks Isabella under the table. Total tomboy. Insta crush on Anders.

Runs about with bravado and conviction and gets real loud, with big smiles, and almost drinks Isabella under the table. Total tomboy. Insta crush on Anders. Alas, I'll never understand the cult of Anders! When I first encountered him in Awakening, my first thought was: "What's this? Alistair in drag?" (I always felt the Tevinter mage outfits for men all looked lame!)The dress is only skin deep. For the point need to look under the dress... Anders not an Alistair clone (if he were an Alistair clone, I am sure that more people would like his character, and less people would hate). Interesting character, and very good romance. One of the best in the whole series. But this is my opinion.

CatilinaWhat language are your screenshots in? I've been quite curious for awhile. Nice Hawke, by the way. With Anders, I can see how he's similar to Alistair at the beginning of DA:A. But if you talk to him, he's far more bitter and cynical than even a hardened Alistair. DA2 is where his personality really starts to deviate from Alistair's, for better and for worse.

(Thank you, by the way. ) Yes, exactly. He seems similar on the first sight: he have blonde hair, brown eyes and sarcastic humour. But he is much more bitter, from the first moment, if you watch what he say, and how. I do not think that Alistair would have reacted sarcastically to agony of a man. For example.

Catilina Excellent write up!
Mostly I studied until my brain hurt today. But as I was laying my usual amount of imagination induced insomnia, I did settle on a personality for my canon Anders mance Hawke. Alas, I'll never understand the cult of Anders! When I first encountered him in Awakening, my first thought was: "What's this? Alistair in drag?" (I always felt the Tevinter mage outfits for men all looked lame!) I don't like Awakening Anders at all. It's him mixed up with Justice, who by the end of it all went a bit demon. Bit it changed him for the better. My Fave romance of DA2 is Fenris. But I have 4 canon world states for each LI and I was having problems with picking a partner for Anders because I was mad at him.

I started another DAI run with another sword/shield warrior. It was fun the first time with my Templar, Mattias, especially blocking projectiles and dragon claw/tail swipes.
In this new run, my character's name is Alexandra, a blue eyed, dark red haired and lonesome warrior. She's someone, who'll get the job done, but not very good at socializing with others. I think that'll change a bit when she gets into a leadership role. Right now, Alex is at Haven and is set to venture into the Hinterlands to meet Mother Giselle. And also deal with the rampaging Templars and Apostates.

I'm teaching myself to draw by reading a how to manga book. I prefer this style because I prefer the bigger eyes that add to an expression in unique ways. It's also a forgiving style since it's not exactly realistic and so people suspend their expectations more? *Grin*
Anyway, it was talking about consistency of size. And it sunk in that I'd be dealing with four very distinct races, an I should probably get a better feeling for how they relate to each other.
So, at first I focused very heavily on getting my vertical proportions right with a paper with notches on it. But as I was working on that, it dawned on me that that widths would be super different as well! I know these are obvious things but it didn't seem obvious when I started drawing. Considering Bioware sometimes really screws up the camera angles on dwarves and Qunari in game. I don't think I had totally absorbed just how short dwarves and elves were and just how tall Qunari are!
Then there are gender differences too. So, I ended up ajusting every one by half heads which are what, 3 inches approximately. In this order:
Female dwarf-male dwarf- female elf - male elf and so on.
Makes a Male Qunari nearly twice as tall as a female dwarf. A female elf's top of the head meeting a female Human's chin. Does that seem about right to you guys?

From the diary of Kara Trevelyan: Met the Warden Stroud. Are all their order seriously bearded and dower? Or is it only the senior ones? Makes me wonder what Clarel would look like...
But they did give us a target. The Western approach. Where the GWs are. I wonder what it will be like to facethem in battle, I confess myself nervous.
Closer on the home front. Leiliana and Ser Morris have conspired to bring combat Specialists to Skyhold. I was surprised when i heard the name Ser Morris. i do not know him. I should rectify the situation.
Meanwhile Cullen is looking around scumming for recruits. If we are going to defeat Corypheus and his army we need one of our own, there are no two ways about it. So yeah. Nothing noteworthy to report. Checked on Caer Branach... thingy, cleaned up Still Waters, then off to meet with Stroud. Always a debate who I should bring, the A team, or Blackwall. I settled on the A team. At least my people are being chatty this time.

My husband isn't feeling well, so we're not leaving until it's super late.
I'm watching the credits for Tresspasser now. For those that haven't played the DLC, sit through the credits. Hilarous. I'll share Rowan's final decisions later, but here's a non-spoiler comment.
Hey you! Yeah, you Solasmancers! The ones that have him as your favorite or canon romances? Yeah, I'm talking to you. You guys are masochists. Never ever again. Rowan shall be the only one. It works for me. Next time I'm going for Cullen. Sorry, but I need a happy ending for my next lady Inquisitor.
Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a little leftover emotion in my eye. I grew very attached to the character Rowan in this playthrough. I don't play a lot of elves in the DA series. I've played 3 from start to finish now, two of them in Origins. Something about her clicked with me I guess. I've been playing D&D and other roleplaying games for almost 30 years. I started in 1987. Sometimes, you get that rare character that just clicks somehow. What she went through as a Solasmancer...
Okay, I'd recommend doing a full Solasmance at least once. It does add to the story. But ouch ouchie...yeah, human mage getting the hots for Curly next time.

Taking a character from beginning to end watching them grow, surprise me and shaping them. Still not sure what is better, having intricate backstories, either mine or BWs, or going in as a blank slate.
