The only thing in DA I did yesterday was talk with my husband about my DA fan comic writing. The problem of introducing 7 main characters (Wardens) when there is really only one main-main character (Surana for me.) Seemed too overwhelming to a reader. He has a bachelor's in English and it really helped to get the plan fleshed out. I thought it was funny; I like to write but apparently I'm mediocre at it, and he seems excellent at it and doesn't enjoy writing at all.

I'm going to keep a tally of how many times Solas lies in the game. This should be fun. Count: 2. "This magic is unkown to me." <snicker> "No mage has such power." Perhaps an ancient and more-or-less immortal mage bent on destroying the world might find a way to do it. That's just crazy talk. That's two lies in the first interactive conversation with Solas. Oh boy. I have a feeling the lies are going to slowly pile up.
You actually left one out. The very first thing Solas says is, "I did nothing." That's the biggest lie in the whole game.

You come out with plots and characters and he puts your ideas to paper! Is he a big DA fan too? Good synergy perhaps in a Writer/Editer-proof reading way. I have the story in my head but it's not like all the characters of all the games in it, so a lot to keep track of. He is not a fan as of right now. He has promised to play through all three games once. Origins has not massively impressed him, I think the friendship system feels too stilted with the presents. I told him that gets better. He wants to play as male. And thanks that he would have preferred romancing Alistair if he'd been bi. Instead, I pushed him to Morrigan for story reasons, to make him feel connected to the rest of the series. Maybe Witch Hunt will hook him. Or maybe seeing his dwarf son in DAI will feel really cool to him. If he were a fan, man, would I even be on this forum? Lol I would. But I wouldn't NEED to be on this forum.

From the Diary of Kara Trevelyan: Finished becoming an Assassin. Crafted the murderkinfe, so now I get to pour over the materisls i got from Cole. This does not seem to be the end of my journey but the beginning.
Nevertheless with that in mind I set off for the Forbidden Oasis, which seems to be a good thing the place is forbidden for their is NOTHING THERE.
Regardless explored the area, closed rifts... battled spiders... and left.
Eventually found myself in the hinterlands where i discovered a gruesome sight, what happened to the tranquil wbho served the Venatori...they will pay for this.
So finally my luck is chaning, got four more fade touched materials. So i made three seperate weapons, for Dorian, Cole, and Bull. Especially happy to get Beserk on Iron Bull. Also, I knew about the whole tranquil skull thing, but i did not know this was happening now. I always thought the Skulls were ancient. So it seems that they are happening... now.. which is gruesome, but raises questions.

SO, I'm thinking I need to kick myself off the forum, go play DAI 6 times, and then come back. I kinda miss the spoiler bs non spoiler main sections of BSN prime. I've been spoiled on two things in the last month that kind of upset me, because I thought I was already apoiled as much as I could be spoiled. But there are minor things in the romances that aren't often talked about that simmer up before my eyes and it makes me quite pouty. Like with Dorian: apparently denying the relationship to someone, I don't know who. Not that my RP moment reaction to that is completely ruined, but it would have been awesome for me to have gotten that as a punch to the gut in 1st person. Like, that's hard core, I love Dorian as my best friend in my most recent run and was really looking forward to his romance as this new experience of awesome, and then there is this big splash of drama I didn't even know about and now the sharp surprise has been stolen. WAH
And then Solas, I had abandoned my only solasmance so far, post main game, didn't even bother with Trespasser with her. So I didn't find out- until just today that apparently there is some epilogue slide about his plaguing Lavellan's dreams. Which means, what, he's dreamer visiting non consensually (the bastard) or your subconsious is just screwing with your heart break.
And I'm like stooooooooooooooooooooop it, I haven't played those romances yet!

Joanne Hawke is a Mage, so she was able to use mod magic to keep Bethany alive in the confrontation with the Ogre. Now I have a letter from the Viscount, trouble with the Quinari. I killed the spiders and got the mine workers back to work. Which I have to say, is much easier with a mage, than with a Rogue.

Haha, if you did that, you'd be gone for about 6 months!
I think I know which Dorian scene you are talking about and I would say, it's not quite like that. It's more a "mind your own business" vibe than a "I am not dating the Inquisitor" vibe. And it's also an optional (though for me, mandatory) scene. You may not get it at all, depending on what choices you make in the romance.
Re: Solas....yeah, can't help you there.

I knew there was something wonky going on with the shards in the Oasis, and now I have proof! The numbers never made sense to me....the total amount of shards showing is MORE than the actual number of shards. There are 4 oculara in the Oasis, and the number of shards findable with each is: 5/5/4/3. This totals 17 BUT there are only 15 shards in the Oasis. The result is two shards are findable with two different oculara (or 1 shard is findable with 3 of them). It's not my imagination! Took me less than 2 hrs to close all the rifts, mark the landmarks, find all the shards, and explore everywhere except the spider cave. Along the way, killed a bunch of Venatori, several packs of hyenas, and a giant. Opened 5 doors in the temple: 2 fire, 2 ice, 1 spirit. Up next: taking on the Northern Hunter. I'm going to try it again with Sera, along with Cass and Solas. At least this dragon doesn't have babies but man, those lightning rings are brutal.

Well, it was yesterday. I took along Dorian (of course, LOL!), Iron Bull and Cassandra. I'm playing a rogue this time rather than a mage and we went off to fight the Hinterlands Dragon. After we defeated it, I found an area I'd never seen before. Go down from the cliff and then along to a river or stream which has a broken bridge. A mage can fix it with energise and you find some loot in a bat there along with a message about there being enough materials to construct a dock. There was no mention of unlocking a dock operation there, so maybe it was something that was going to be in the game but got cut? It was interesting finding a new place anyway

I am having so much fun!
Currently playing the descent-dlc for the first time and I have no clue as to what happens in it. And it is such a creepy place, and then you come to a place that is quite amazing to look at. Wow. Really like the two dwareves that come with you, Valta and Grissly.
Well, time to go back to the game, hope we will see more of the dwarves and the deep roads in the future. I like it that it is so completely different from topside.

From the Diary of Kara Trevelyan. Followed the Mercenaries-who-aren't bandits back to their base. And they folded like a cheap chochlate ecclaire. It was funny that those kinds of bullies think they can match the Inquisition in battle only to simply die on me. I did not even realize I was attacking him at the time, their leader. But it seems, by and large, the Hinterlands are secure. Though we found a key that i am sure will come in handy later.
After that it was a quick run to Crestwood, to duel with a dragon. Except he managed to fight us off, twice, i guess i overestimated our parties ability to kick ass. So instead we picked on a wyvern which was much easier. So yeah that was embarrasing. Dueled with the Northern Hunter twice only to be chased away... twice. I think I may need to unlock Mark of Death first before tackling dragons. Or at the least upgrade people's equipment more. Speaking of which now that i am not focusing as much on crafting... yet... i find it difficult to find stuff out in the world to upgrade my party. On that regard it was funny that after dealing with the Wyvern i thought to myself 'well if i find another fade touched obsidian i will craft Cassandra a new sword.' and then the next piece of obsidian i touched... got fade touched... right next to it was another one... which offered more fade touched. So its likely Cassandra is getting her new sword then Solas or Cole is getting more armor

All I did today was create a couple of threads and chatted about the game. I'm writing a backstory for my warrior in my head. It'll have to wait a bit. I want to finish up SR4. My dogs also got home from being kenneled for most of the week. They are either bouncing off the walls or crashed out at the moment. You guys do realize that this thread is what finally made pick up DA:I for the PS4. Since it was only $40 for the whole kit and kabodle I want to say thank you. Special shoutout to themikefestYou realize that because of your encouragement, I've bought the entire ME series on two platforms. Now I have DA:I on two platforms because of your enthusiasm. You aren't alone, but I certainly give you credit. I'm not going to talk about how much money you helped BioWare make from me. Suffice to say that they have gotten a decent chunk of change out of me.

Hopefully you can buy ME again if a remastered version is released. I have, or at least had, DAI for two platforms until I bought a ps4 and the DAI game of the year edition. My ps3 version I traded in for another game.

^^^^^ I bought all three DA games for both PS3 and PC. No regrets. I also bought ME series because of Melbella. I got as far as releasing a giant spider alien before realizing I couldn't care less what the outcome of that decision was and took it as a sign to discontinue. Someday I will play ME3 with a PC controller to at least give it an honest try. But have 19 planned play throughs of DA games to get through first.

themikefestI don't think I'm going to buy ME again. So long as I can get ahold of working PS3s, I'm going to stick with that. I almost never ever buy the same game on two different platforms outside of the 16bit to PSX era. One thing I did differently with my warrior, while I'm in here. After the initial demon fight, I didn't have my character immediately drop her weapon. She's human and not a mage. Instead her answer was, "If you want me to follow you into a demon-infested valley, you're going to have to trust me." Cass didn't like it, but I'm not concerned. Valena is an Andrastian of noble birth, a fellow shield bearer and is leery of mages. They'll get along just fine. I have a feeling she's not going to talk to Solas much in this game outside of personal quests. This time I think I'm going to see "Solas Disapproves" a lot. I'm still going to drag him around for his artifacts. One quick thought about those artifacts. Solas claims that it will strengthen the Veil to prevent tears. I'm not so sure about that after finishing Trespasser. I'm beginning to wonder if those artifacts are the same as the ones in Leviathan in ME3. A way to control people and make them bow to your will from a distance. Instead of mind control, it could very well be a form of coercion.
