Edit:Crap, crap, crap. I keep forgeting to ask if the Sigil of the Giant is good. It adds fifty percent to staminal but does 100% cooldown times... does that mean they are faster or slower? +100% cooldown = takes twice as long, so make sure you have a cooldown amulet available to negate some of it.
Andraste's Sacrifice is even better since it also increases regen rate.

edit again: not sure why the link isn't staying in the correct format - it looks fine before I post it.

From the diary of Kara Trevelyan:
So this playthrough is starting to come together nicely. I stumled upon the idea almosy by accident but as it turns out I can give Kara her 'canon' look, (though not necessarily her best armor, still have not found FT materials i believe suitable for her) but regardless with all the main quests ahead of me, all the companion quests, and good chunks of the EP, WA, not to mention haven't even been to the Emprise or HW... well there could be a lot of pics with her canon look. Plus 9 dragons and a lot of busy work. E dit:Crap, crap, crap. I keep forgeting to ask if the Sigil of the Giant is good. It adds fifty percent to staminal but does 100% cooldown times... does that mean they are faster or slower? The bad news, or good news, is going into Abyss without tier 2 or 3 focus unlocked. But hey, Kara might get her scar back! I've come to the conclusion that none of the Sigils are worth it; they all "give you one of this while taking away two of that." It never seems to be a good deal.

Did you post your Leliana morph? I may have missed some messages while out of town. bsn.boards.net/thread/31/today-da?page=44If you try her and she doesn't turn out exactly the same, post a screen shot and I'll try and see what's missing. I often pull individual meshes and textures out of mods and forget where I got them from. If you want to make small changes, I will post the .mrh file. Well the Ashes of Andraste cured the Arl.
Thanks! Where exactly do you place the .mor file? In any case, I probably have to consider a full reinstall as well. If you remember, I had some problems after rejecting the DR and had to resort to console commands. This, of course, after I finish my current run at DAI.

deadlydwarf Drag her and Cole around. You'd be surprised later on in the game. Her relationship with Cole has some depth. Sera's opinion never changes. I'm not letting Vivenne anywhere near the Golden Throne. It doesn't matter if I'm playing pro-Mage Freedom, pro-Circle or someone that gives a toss. A power-hungry mage as Divine? Nope nope nope. I consider myself more pro-mage overall, but that would be too much upheaval at once. Random Observations: What's with mages in DA games? Merrill and Dorian are overall the nicest outta the bunch but there is a weird trend here. Morrigan--Mysterious, caustic, powerful and cold. She's a bit xenophobic and not used to other people due to her isolation. She seems to take pleasure in slamming on other companions. Then there is the Dark Ritual and her bailing on the Warden. Valanna--The most caustic and angry elven party member in the entire series. She's also quite xenophobic and not used to people due to her clan. Seriously, she's worse than Fenris. At least he has something of a sense of humor. Anders--Possessed by a spirit that becomes a demon due to his own anger. "I'll save the mages by destroying a Chantry. It'll kickstart a world war." Holds pro-Circle mages, Templars and the Wardens in contempt. Merrill--She's a sweetheart. Almost too naive and kind. Of course, she had to be a well-meaning blood mage that allows her Keeper and possibly her clan to be murdered. <sigh> Solas--Mysterious, powerful ancient elf that screwed things up for his people the first time. "I'll save my people by destroying the Veil. It'll kickstart The End of World." Holds pro-Circle mages, Templars and the Wardens in contempt. Vivi--Power hungry, cold and caustic. She is sickly sweet most of the time and places personal worth above everything else. She seems to enjoy insulting most of the party and is quite vain. Dorian--Probably the most sane mage as well as the second-most kind mage party member in the series. He's a little vain, but otherwise is a good guy that gets along very well with the party. Even Cass and Sera like him. Hell, Solas and him can bond a bit over finding ancient magical artifacts. He has no hidden agenda, doesn't get too chummy with sprirts or demons and disdains all blood magic. He has no desire to restore his people to any former glory. He's also bitter but not nearly as angry or cold as Vivi, Val, Anders and Morrigan are. When he goes home, he starts to do some real good for his countrymen. So, hurray for Dorian. Anyway, I'll get back on topic for my next update. So Viv actually warms up to ghost boy? Does it matter whether you choose "Cole becomes more human" or "Cole remains a spirit"?

After having defeated Corypheus yesterday, Katriel now shifts the Inquisition's focus toward the Frostbacks where the Inquisition acts in support of an archeologist who's trying to locate the grave of the first Inquisitor, Ameridan. The Inquisition has, so far, made contact with the peaceful Stone Bear Hold Clan and skirmished with the mindlessly violent Hakkonite clan.
Gamer notes: With Katriel and her team at Level 27, killing Corypheus was way to easy, even with the "Level Ground" trial set. In this DLC, things have become challenging again. The Hakkonite archers are particularly lethal. When you run across the "Murders' Gold" site on the island, the Witch Demons were actually at Level 30!

I'd always picked the "Nice Crossbow" option before when meeting Varric with the Quiz. This time, I took the basic "Nice to meet you" option. And Solas said I'd come to rethink that. and then Varric was like, "WE'll become better friends in the valley, Chuckles."
1. That made me laugh. I can still get surprised by a game that I've played thrice. 2. I thought that was Sarcastic Hawke's nick name?
Instead of slow leveling, I picked even ground instead. We'll see how that one goes. My first trial.
Also, already missing DA2 staff animations. You know, the ones that have you actually using your staff as a partial melee weapon when a bad guy gets close.

No, Hawke's nickname is Waffles (from MotA). He calls diplo Hawke that too, so one size fits all, I guess?

Enemies in JoH are min level 20, I think, and tough on NM even with no trials. I don't think they level with you without Even Ground on. Enemies in Descent and Trespasser both scale to your level, but I don't know if they have a minimum.
The 4 despair demons in JoH are level 30 no matter what level you are or without any trials on. Been that way since it came out.

So, 12 PTs in and I am still finding new stuff.
Cleared out the Red Templars in Red Water, then took a boat ride to Dragon Island. After watching Vinsomer dance to her own beat for a while, Bruenor and team headed back to the boat. Ever watchful for more blood lotus, Bruenor noticed some blooms on the far side of the boat that he hadn't seen before. He also found this:
I had been planning to start Descent since I was in the area, but I had to check this out first. Headed back to Skyhold asap to talk to Dagna.
She did her magic mumbo jumbo routine (off camera) and Bruenor ended up with this:
He hid it in the storage chest, hoping it might disintegrate while he's off adventuring.

Even ground is my first trial, too! I've been playing my Cadash on Hard with even ground, though with the golden nug (and therefore the ability to craft nice weapons right away) many fights are still pretty easy. I had to lower the difficulty for one battle in Therinfal Redoubt because I didn't ration my health potions. Vivienne used four of them in the space of about 5 seconds, no exaggeration Other than that, though, it isn't bad. I think I'm going to craft more gear for everyone and then try switching to Nightmare and see what happens. I'd always picked the "Nice Crossbow" option before when meeting Varric with the Quiz. This time, I took the basic "Nice to meet you" option. And Solas said I'd come to rethink that. and then Varric was like, "WE'll become better friends in the valley, Chuckles." 1. That made me laugh. No, it's definitely "Chuckles" for sarcastic Hawke. Scene at 2:32 for proof: I figure the writers just...forgot? Maybe? What an insult to Hawke, to share a nickname with Solas As for what I did today in DA, I finished Champions of the Just and had post-quest conversations with a few companions. I really liked Cole's introduction, and it has made me like him a lot more. I think my character having that intimate introduction to him really made me bond easier with him, whereas in the past, his cryptic way of speaking turned me off. Also, my Zevia Cadash is developing more of a personality, despite the bland dialogue options. She seems to be making friends with Vivienne and Cassandra, and Josephine as well, but she and Cullen aren't seeing eye-to-eye at all. If it weren't for the old-fashioned dueling in Josephine's romance, I think Zevia would fit well with her, but I have no interest in playing that quest...so I'll stick with my plan to romance her to Iron Bull. She flirted with him for the first time today, and either he doesn't recognize flirting, or he's playing dumb, because he responded by talking about the blood grooves in his sword

First off, I'm sorry that I forgot Bethany. I shouldn't have. It's been awhile since I've played and done one too many mage Hawkes. --I recruited the Templars and kept them intact. I've only done Champion of Just twice now. I really enjoy the finale of In Hushed Whispers, but there is something more immediately impactful about the Templar side for the state of the world. I decided to take Cassandra 2H for this game since her specialization works with either set up. She borrowed Bull's huge 2H mace for the trip (cleverly named "Bull's Hammer.) I also took Vivienne along as well and Varric as always. --Killed the dragon using my Bull/Viv/Varric party. Bull was a little less squishy than I thought he would be. I made sure to get that fire resist up using dragonling scales. Once again, I dinged level 12 as the dragon died. --Then started IYHSB. The whole sequence really makes a ton more sense wth Dorian there. When Valena got to Skyhold, I choose the "army of the faithful" speech. Then I noticed that Solas really acted like he hated my character after that. I decided to reload and pick the "Stop Cory" option instead. Apparently I was on extremely thin ice with him and that's not what I want to do. --Solas isn't going to like Val very much, but I don't think it'll to be the point of hatred. Valena is pro-Circle, pro-Templar Order, pro-Warden and pro-Cassandra as Divine. I'm going to drag around Solas for a zone or so to try to get some affection up. I don't want him to hate my character, but I know how to fix that. A lot of questions, being polite, doing his personal quest the right way and dragging him around places like the Emerald Graves and the Exalted Plains. --Ever get the feeling that Solas and Mythal had something to do with originally creating Skyhold during the elven slave rebellion? After all, the game states about the Dread Wolf as "holding back the sky" with his Veil. I don't think that was ground zero for the creation of the Veil. I do think that a lot of research was done there. Also, the Undercroft is the perfect size for a dragon's lair. For Mythal? I also think that this castle was the final staging ground for his army for the final push against the so-called gods. Until Mythal's murder which changed everything and he decided to take extremely drastic action. I feel that, no matter what you choose at the end of Trespasser, the Herald and anyone with him/her is going to be kicked out of Skyhold. Or they will leave Skyhold on their own. I think that Solas is going to end up claiming it after the PC is gone. It wouldn't be difficult thanks to the eluvian and the element of surprise. He probably led the Herald there in part to help bring Skyhold back to it's former glory. Not that we'll see it in the next game, but I'm sure it'll get referenced. Nice job of breaking it, hero.

melbella Well. All that excitement over a fragment and you get something that is worse than junk. Dev Time was spent on that instead of, say, improving almost anything else. dragontartare Hey, thanks! I was just gonna assume my memory had been faulty. That the writers forgot is a possibility. Or that Varric didn't actually want to give Hawke a nickname so it was still up for grabs. OR maybe the writers didn't forget so much as a assume most people playing DAI hadn't played MOtA.
Last night I played util I got Ameridan, Cass, and Lel to start the Inquisition in Haven. But, I picked the wrong Dialogue at the table and I can't let that slide, so I'll reload today and fix that. I actually picked a wrong dialogue when he was in chains still, but I wasn't going to sit through another hour and 10 minutes of Character creator to fix one line, as i'm never sure if I can ever remake the exact same face. I do know after I fix the line, I need to go to the Emporium, because I've decided he needs a wider jaw/chin, and also his mouth/nose/chin need to move up a smidge. His face is too long. Also, didn't quite get the nose tip right. And if his complexion is going to be so young, and Cass can have black hair at 40, I think I'll turn his from grey to black as well. And I was reading Ameridan codexes trying to figure out who my Ameridan is cloning. I've already played the total hero, kind to everybody, type. I need more to go on or I'll be bored. I've decided that each "rumor" about him has a grain of truth.
So... he's going to be a bit of a flirt with all the ladies, has had his share of casual dalliances in the past, but a true romantic at heart. Had an unrequited love with my other older Lavellan in my head, but she didn't return the feelings, so it's just been a solid friendship since. Loyal, a bit sarcastic. At the same time, he recognizes when diplomacy is required, so he's not going to be rash and cheeky like my last Trevelyan was even when it was a bad idea. I've also imagined a bit more of a hobo apostate feel to him. He goes on "walkabouts" often to explore the world around him, especially since the clan got a mage Second; his death wouldn't throw the clan too much into chaos. AND HE'S ALWAYS wanted to go Dragon hunting. Now that he has a bit of backup, he's not letting his chance slide. <- RP reason to kill all the dragons. Also, in my head, he's from the Ameridan clan, Ghilain, not Lavellan. Still knows the Wycome clan well, though, so very interested in it doing well. He'll specialize in Knight Enchanter, because I still haven't tried that specialization and pretty much hated the other two. He'll strongly believe in the Creators, but when Cass asks him if has room in his heart for another God, he'll say yes. I'm already a bit tripped up about whether he'll embrace the Herald title. He may go the "unsure" route. I don't think he'd take on the title, nor outright denounce it, but there sure are a lot of interesting things happening so no point in being closeminded.

Does Wynne remain chopped nug livers or is she an example of a good mage. Almost misspelled it as hood mage, which would have been radical. Would drawing her count as doing something in DA? I think Finn was also a nice chap, until he discovered his fetish for elfroot, leather and tight pants. Not even once >:C Gamewise I might continue yesterdays prodding to create a nice looking dwarf lady in DAO. And fail miserably once more. Or sort out ongoing playthroughs and plan out which to finish and how. Also, Hawke nick names: Waffles, Chuckles and Killer. Varric probably just mistook Solas for Sarcastic Hawke, same hairdo and all that.

I see, the good mage, who able to accept the role of a dangerous cursed prisoner... except Vivienne, of course. Good to see, she is not "good mage" in any viewpoints I like Wynne, Bethany, and Finn is not a bad person, but I'm sorry for them. I's not normal, that anyone can't trust him/herself, or feel guilty, because of the social prejudices and generated fears. (Bethany at the end refuse the Circle.) By the way: Ameridan good mage too, or? About the mages (another point of view): Morrigan: "Mysterious, caustic, powerful and cold. She's a bit xenophobic and not used to other people due to her isolation. She seems to take pleasure in slamming on other companions. Then there is the Dark Ritual and her bailing on the Warden."
1. These are not mage traits (including "misterious" too), simple personal traits. 2. Dark Ritual. Yes, point taken. Velanna:"she most caustic and angry elven party member in the entire series. She's also quite xenophobic and not used to people due to her clan."
Also simple personal traits, not because she is mage, rather she is an angry caustic and xenophobic person. Velanna's negative traits related more with her "elf" origin, rather than "mage". Anders: "Possessedby a spirit that becomes a demon due to his own anger."1. Not only a mage can be possessed, Justice would be able to posses Nathaniel as well, and remember Wilmod in DA2, he was a templar... 2. His anger an oppressed person's anger, not necessarily a mage's trait – just see: rebellion in Alienage, and peasant rebellion, and just see the rebellions cruelity. Anders don't use magic when blew up the Chantry. I think this was thought-out decision form him. And just imagine a collaboration of Justice and Fenris... Merrill: "She's a sweetheart. Almost too naive and kind. Of course, she had to be a well-meaning blood mage that allows her Keeper and possibly her clan to be murdered"1. Sweetheart, naive: not mage trait, and her obession is also not about mages, rather about elves. 2. Point taken because of blood magic and deals with demon. Solas: "Mysterious, powerful ancient elf that screwed things up for his people the first time. "
Point taken Vivienne: "Power hungry, cold and caustic. She is sickly sweet most of the time and places personal worth above everything else. She seems to enjoy insulting most of the party and is quite vain."No one is mage trait, these are all human traits. Dorian: "Probably the most sane mage as well as the second-most kind mage party member in the series. He's a little vain, but otherwise is a good guy that gets along very well with the party."Human traits, not mage traits. + needed someone, who shows Tevinter's human side. And I can list non-mages with similar traits. This can start with Sten (I like him, but have some interesting treat), and continue with Loghain and Sebastian.

The shot of Ameridan I chose to mimic. My 1st try at Ameridan: My 2nd try at Ameridan: Of course, the brightness of the snow is making his black hair look gray again But I nudged it one shade over. I adjusted forehead to make the nose more similar to the Tarrot card. I think I did a pretty good job with those adjustments. Looks a lot more like Ameridan to me, albeit a younger one.

I've come to the conclusion that none of the Sigils are worth it; they all "give you one of this while taking away two of that." It never seems to be a good deal. There is a mod over at nexusmods that reduces the penalties by 50% or even 100% (whichever version one prefers) so those things are actually useful and interesting. You can find the mod here. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Yesterday two things happened. The first was hilarious, the second...less so. One: I went to Crestwood to get the assassin leader token thingies for my specialization quest. There are three groups, one of them is at the shore of the lake. When my group rolled in the respective assassin leader went straight into the water and drowned. I heard his "arghlglgl" and he was gone. I laughed a few minutes about it, until I realized, that maybe I might not be able to retrieve the token without drowning, too. But I was and everything was fine. Two: I made such bad rolls again that Dagna would have kicked Sera out of the Inqusition. I say 'would have' because I cheated and did not save afterwards. I had put Cole's gear on Sera for that one quest and she took it when she left. And since Cole wears my best archer gear....no. Just no. I'm still not sure if I will reroll everything when I do the quest again or if I choose the same answers and just let her leave. It's a bit early in the game for my taste, I haven't hardly made any big decisions yet. I'll think about it.

Good change, yes. (My Adaar's black hair looks similar, this is annoying, but... Bioware.)

(At least they wouldn't be ridiculously bad!) In the last years, modders have really begun to positively impact DAI. Now if they could only improve the look of "Battle-" series armor on the Player Character....

Yesterday I thought I would give the City elf origin another try since I was feeling up to playing a more evil run and my commoner dwarf was a pretty reasonable guy who wanted to get away from a life of crime. Created a guy and accidentally left him with the default name Darrian. I didn't realize that until I got to Ostegar, but I like the name so I'm not upset by it. You wouldn't figure that this would be my more evil run by how the Origin went, he gave money to elven women to avoid having to go to Ostegar, gave money the beggar, and saved his cousin. However, when he want to the prisoner, after the prisoner showed him the key my boy stabbed him and then lied that the guy had lunged at him. Darrian: kind to elves, where's a charming causal persona that hides a sinister nature. He's kind of like Pickman from Fallout 4, has a charming surface and kills people he deems unworthy to live.
He's not even my true psychopathic character, my true psychopathic character is my Amell that I've yet to create. She has a psychopathic personality, but she's just not particularly violent one.
