Samson saw his life as meaningless. He also felt the Chantry ruined his life so that's why he followed Corypheus. Better to have his men die honorably for a lie than live the life he did. Samson wasn't the first burnout templar the player had met. He told his men that they were fighting for personal freedom and against the Chantry. He knew Cory was actually going to probably destroy the world.

As far as Sera goes, there isn't anything huge that comes out of her in Trespasser. However, she'll actually apologize to a Levellan about Solas ditching her; apologize for being a jerk about the slave markings; she'll show real concern for the IQ when their arm starts to go haywire; and warns the IQ that the elven servants are acting strange. "Nobody here needs the services of a Jenny."  I can understand why she thought that was odd.


In short, she becomes a helluva lot nicer.  She also showed some real character growth in the 2 years since Cory was defeated.  It's short but it's there.  Also, she hooks up with Dagna if unromanced.  It's apparently very cute.  

I haven't completed Descent (though I did start it once) and I haven't done Trespasser yet.  I, of course, know that Solas is the villain and the Inquisitor loses her rift hand/arm and that Solas wants to bring about an Apocalypse of some sort.

I suppose people could frame their posts "This post pertains to...." and then put everything under "spoiler," but it's not like this thread was ever marked "no spoilers."   I think people come to this thread to see the approach others take to the DA games for inspiration...and perhaps to see hints of what's to come.  (Yes, some people are so impatient they want spoilers even though they'll whine about it afterwards...)

By the way this "consent". As I see this is not really (at least not always) a decision, this is rather a terrified (self-loathing – perhaps, because of Chantry's false teachings?) person's cry for help. Just remember Feynriel: if Hawke don't deal with sloth demon, he also "asked" for it, in the nightmare, but he need only a confirmation, that he will able to handle his skills. But really easy solution to tranquilise anyone, instead to train him/her: typical Circle-practice, due to the lack of knowledge of the Fade's spirits/demons. The intimidate of Chantry too strong, as I see. So: this "consent" I would not take so seriously. Probably no one "wants" to be a zombie. Too hard to accept this "decision", at least it should not be immediate. The question: this consent come from free will, or from fear / intimidation.

The "practice" of the tranquilizing need to be very rare, and very serious punishment, no, rather final solution.

I used to make a note on spoilers in the old What did you do today in DA? thread when both Descent and Trespasser were released. Jaws of Hakkon was out for Xbox One and PC prior to PS4, so I already knew what to expect when I finally played that DLC.

No doubt when MEA is released, I'd like to avoid spoilers when I play the game. And again make a note while sharing play throughs and pics.

My escort to Vigils Keep was an idealistic young knight, Ser Mhairi.
She was looking forward to her joining and being able to take the fight to the darkspawn.
I liked her, and I gave her Duncans' sword and the Dragon Plate armour Wade had made.
When we approached the Keep, it was under darkspawn attack.

I'm afraid it will happen sooner than I thought. On the main square Orsino harangued against Meredith. Meredith arrived in the company of the Templars, and tried to stop Orsino. Orsino wanted my opinion. I'm with him, this clear: Meredith must go. Meredith argued with using my mother's death. Bitch! Of course, she insists on the power, and there are no one to deprive her. Elthina "neutral”. I can not decide whether she is idiot or malicious. Or both – according to Anders...

Maybe something happens. Some nobles want to support me against Meredith. Promising. Aveline probably also fed up with templars.

Yesterday I stopped by the clinic, for Anders. He even more strangely behaved than usuall: he avoided my gaze while spoke, never did it before. He asked me to help him to separate Justice and he. Something Tevinter magic potion need for it. I think, this is simply bullshit. Dangerous bullshit! In the last three years was no problem with them! I don't want to risk his life for a doubtful experiment! Nevermind, he want it. I can't convince him, very determined. He says he can easier to represent the mages, if they not see him as an Abomination. This is probably true. Okay, I'd rather help him, I don't want that he try it alone. Anyway he need some very interesting ingredients... Crystallized dragon shit of the Bone Pit. Ugh!

Meanwhile, I found out that there is trouble with Dragon Pit mines. At least same place. Let's go!
In the mine every worker was dead, and a bloody high dragon tried to kill us. We survived, and have enough … ingredient. Good. I hope it will not be wrong.


Okay, let's go to Elthina, I will speak with her from the Mages. Anders wants a chance to convince her. I think this is a very nice idea and totally needless quibbling. This latter was proved. „Both sides have good arguments and mistakes” – she says. Idiot! Just do, what you must, my love, I'm with you!

At home Anders behave strangely again. He said he loves me. I know. Me too. But what he want to say with this? When someone says something like, mostly means betrayal. I thought, we are beyond all misunderstanding already...

We went again to Elthina, this time Sebastian called us. Elthina spoke about a planned Exalted March against Kirkwall. What? And... Elthina against the investigation? But why? No matter she want me to convince the agent of the Divine, that the Exalted March is unnecessary. Me.
The agent told that Elthina in danger. Let's go, warn her! Surprise! She don't care about it. Okay, I did what I could, I wash my hands of.

Isabela was waiting for me at home. I almost forget Castillon! He still want to kill her. If I did not handed over her to Arishok, I will not let Castillon to kill her!
As Isabela said, we found Castillon's man in the Blooming Rose. I sold him Isabela, and as we discussed, I followed her tracks with Anders and Fenris. Velasco was easy prey, just as Castillon.

A few days later I visited Fenris. Aveline was there, they were arguing about something. Aveline angrily stormed off, Fenris swore... as always.

Sebastian and Anders came with us, because Fenris suspected trap. Of course, he was right. His sister betrayed him, Danarius already was waiting for us with some tevinter slave hunter. I thought, stronger... Fenris executed him, then he took his sister. I do not let him to kill her. He looked at me angrily, but I knew that even will be grateful for it. I assurred him from my friendship, then I left him alone for now. Later we'll talk.
A few days later, we talked. I feel, he will able to leave his past.

Then I was go to Varric, who said that there are ghosts in the estate of Bartrand, and in this condition he never will able to sell it. I promised to help, but first stopped by my favorite uncle. Gamlen was nicer than usual (although not much), but when I found the letter on his desk, he became that grumpy old bastard again what he was normally. The letter is quite interesting. It mentions something valuable gem. Gamlen finally told me, that he lost his wife because of this gem. Let's check it!
The whole thing was like a stupid treasure hunt game. The point is that the whole thing was managed by Gamlen's daughter, because she wanted to know who is her father. Great. Why she had not knock on the door? It would have been too easy. Nevermind, I hope that if he get to know his daughter, that can help Gamlen to be less dickhead...

When we were in the Alienage related to uncle Gamlen letter, I visited Merrill. She still has not repaired the mirror, and asked me to accompany her to the „spirit”, what closed in the old statue. Maybe it can help. Oh, I think the „spirits” are always eager to help... All right, what could be wrong?
Reluctantly, but finally Anders and Fenris came with me. It was not a good idea. This two in perfect harmony scolded Merrill during the whole way. Never was before such an agreement among them. In the Cavern the statue was empty, the demon was missing. Marethari arrived, she told, that she closed the demon in her own body. She sacrificed herself to save Merrill. What a foolish, noble act! We had to kill her with the demon. The clan waited for the Keeper. When they realized that she died, they wanted to kill us. I reassured them that Merrill will not come back. Poor girl, I hope she can find a new purpose.

Today we went into Bartrand's estate. Not a ghost was the cause of oddities. A fragment of this bloody red lyrium idol still was there. I gave it to Sandal. Probably he is able to utilize.

I found a stray cat at the Keep, but it seems I can't swing it anywhere in Amaranthine without hitting someone I know.
Wynne wanted me to look out for a botanist mage, and tell her to go to some all important meeting.

Velanna pointed us toward an old silverite mine in the north,
but on entering we were hit with a sleeping spell.

Issala Adaar spent the morning wrapping up the Storm Coast before heading to the Fallow Mire to rescue some some soldiers. She is soaked to the bone at this point.

Next she's gonna fix the breach, what could go wrong?

Sounds like you ran into a promoted barrier. The only way to take them out is by using the correct element against them, and even then it takes forever. Alternatively, you can save/reload until the dice roll you a normal barrier instead.
