Finally got around to passing judgements on some enemies since I arrived at Skyhold. For the first time in all of my games, I let Alexius live instead of executing him. Ironically he is serving my enslaved mages.

Finished everything in Emerald Graves and started Descent. Just killed the ogre then quit for the evening. Didn't feel like doing the first big battle.
Been hunting down Red Jenny caches with Sera this game. There's only one more to go (according to the wiki) plus the ones at the Winter Palace. I've been putting off companion quests and both story missions indefinitely. Will probably do WEWH after Descent.

Sigrun wanted to go back to Amaranthine, to try and put things right with Mischa. When we got there, she offered Varlan's ring to Mischa. I told her she can't do that, and I gave Mischa some gold. So I'm ready for the final battles, I'm tossing up whether to take Nathaniel with me, because I read on the wiki that DA2 considers him dead if you don't, even if he survives. And I'll want him in DA2 in case I make my sibling a Grey Warden.

I've been playing my city elf for the past few days. I planned on making him human hating, but is able to hide it behind a friendly, causal persona. He finds this easier, especially since people are less likely to expect a person who was friendly to slit their throats at a moment of opportunity. But he has showed his real colors during the origin story, where he woke up the guard just so that he would be awake for his death. Also when killed the guy in the cage at Ostegar. He would have stabbed the merchant guy in Lothering if it wasn't for the fact that I anted to steal the crossbow off him. Killed Witherfang along with Zathrian so that the curse will continue to affect humans and answered the Lady with, "What did you expect? Pity? Don't make me laugh." I was going to have him demand the password for Shale and then walk away in the Stone Prisenor DLC, but unfortunately the guy wasn't intimated and so my elf had to go in and fetch his daughter. In spite of his hatred for humans, he's starting to get close to Morrigan, Alistair, and Leliana. I was hoping to get him into a romance with Morrigan, but I think it might end up being Liliana. She will become his morality pet and stop him from leaving the people of Redcliff because they're humans. Plus, I like the idea of Divine Lelinana with a city elf, so scandalous to the fops. They will be princess and prince mcstabbities. Funny thing today, my boy and Sten confronted the merchant guy outside of Orzammar about Sten's sword. My city elf: "You better give him back his sword." Merchant guy: "I don't have it." My City elf: "Sten, rip his arms off." Mechant guy: *Holy shit!*

Take Nathaniel. None of the others make it to DA2 except Anders, and he's there no matter what you do with him! I did. We cleared the city of darkspawn. So tomorrow I'll probably spend a couple of hours trying to create a new Hawke. Before going back to a basically stock Hawke.

I'm surprised your PC doesn't go with Morrigan. If you go with Morrigan, you can do every evil thing and get increased approval.

One of the luxuries of being Inquisitior was the ability to say no to Josephine's scissors. Or well, the barber she hired to tame Hamin's hair. The scissors themselves weren't that bad, but the idea of having his appearance controlled by anyone else, shem or elf, didn't sit well with him. So it was under the cheerful cheering of Sera that the tossed the golden clippers off the balcony, which he then later regretted in the evening. But no one came to Skyhold with scissors embedded in their eyes and there were no rumors of scissors related animal injuries. Still, a few days later Hamin imposed himself on Blackwall's flower picking festival and accompanied him up and down the mountain. He found the scissors embedded in snow and decided that instead of tossing them again he would give them to some shem child in Crestwood. Or maybe their parents, since the children might jab their eyes out. Shems. Not that elf kids were much better, as he learned when he gave one of the children a small bone dagger. The keeper had lectured him for months and he was forbidden to give the children gifts after that.
Anyways, he ended up giving the scissors to Judith (after Sera had spruced her own hair a bit), a lady living bit outside of Crestwood. A man named Gauld had suggested it after Hamin offered the scissors to his son. She would have more use for them and appreciate the intricate craftsmanship. And Hamin could check if she was alive as well, which he suspected was the biggest reason. She was alive and accepted the scissors, but seemed more interested in the fact that Hamin had killed a beautiful, but irate and venomous Wyvern shortly before.
Hamin also weeded out some bandits, put down Snowball and gathered some corpses for the Chantry in Creswood. He also introduced Cole to Command and let her know that the Rage demon that hounded her was dead. He ended the day by camping in the valley beneath Judith house, while he contemplated whether he should put down yet another of natures marvels or leave her be for now, lest he became a black, sparkly spot on the ground.
TL:DR Hair fetish. Hamin did some quests in Crestwood but chickened out over facing the dragon. Rolled his save back since I ended up speed running the game to do some tests and I just can't face the backlog of side quests with no main quests to break them up. Also started idly thinking about redoing Bergsteins save but I need to learn how to assassin first. Eating dirt is not an effective strategy.

I'm surprised your PC doesn't go with Morrigan. If you go with Morrigan, you can do every evil thing and get increased approval. I didn't kill Zathrian, I miss worded that. What I meant was I had him help me fight Witherfang. But apparently you do have the option to kill Zatherian after the battle if you brought him with you. He only brought Morrigan, Sten, and dog with him. Morrigan was annoyed that I went to get Zathrian, as we could have just attacked the Lady the first time but we didn't survive the last time we did that. My warden was annoyed that Zathrian had wasted his time by not telling him where the temple was, and since this was Zathrian's curse, Zathrian's fault, then he should at least help him deal with it. Sten didn't care and dog surprisingly was the only party member I had left who was still alive by the end of the fight. He's not completely evil, only when humans are concerned he can be a vicious asshole. It would be good character growth if he stopped feeling like he's paying evil unto evil whenever humans are involved. Also, he wouldn't really appreciate Morrigan wanting him to kill his father for power.

From the Diary of Kara Trevelyan I suppose I should stop underestimating dragons. After all they are big, powerful creatures, I just need to learn to go with it more. But killed my second high Dragon. In Crestwood, the thing did not go down easily but I stayed with it.
I met Dorian's...well father. And found out that sometimes my relationship with my mother actually was quite...tame. She tried to change me through nagging and stern looks, he tried to change his son through blood magic mind control. Much worse. Though it has made a close friendship between us even closer. I always liked Dorian, but it was good to define exactly what that relationship means.
Speaking of the Inquisition and relationships since Adamant it seems like we have grown closer as a group. The relationships are really starting to gel. Whether its the dragon hunting, doing random chores and hunting bad guys down, I feel like I am finally starting to make friends. Except for Viviene. She crazy.
And speaking of speaking of relationships, Cullen kissed me...yeah...that was unexpected. So I accidentally didn't tell Dorian about the meeting in the Gull and Lantern which caused...much hijinks. I finally got to see what it was like to have Dorian go into that situation without knowing. Thought I told him. Anyways there was much appologizing after the fact. And the Dragon i Crestwood was being a real pain in the butt, traditionally that is like the first or second Dragon I kill...and that is sitll the case...but this time its like super dragon. Had a party wipe even.

I played a lot this weekend so it would be way too much to recap everything here, but I wanted to share that romance seems to be possible even if you only flirt on occasion. I had two romance scenes, one with Josephine and the second with Cassandra (who rejected me, but still). Of course I rolled the option not to enter a relationship with Josephine which was so awkward it was hilarious. Maybe I'll be able to pursue someone else. Since I have managed to make some friends, finally. Even Dorian, who was so close to leaving me, is my buddy now after talking to him about stuff and meeting his father in Redcliffe.
I replayed the scene with Sera and rolled the exact same options, which is quite a coincidence. But at the last roll I got a 2 so she stayed. Not long after I got the pranks scene so I think she doesn't hate me that much?
Sadly, the weekend's over again and during the week I don't have time to play. Meh.

I've decided that after spending about 2 ish hours to make my Ameridan guy look like Ameridan.... That Ameridan is not actually that attractive.
And I don't like his face and I want a sexy male elf to play with like was posted today on "post your Inquisitor" thread.
So, he's getting deleted. But his character background I made will remain. Just his whole face will change.
I also don't understand the complaints about Jose and Cass. Playing as a straight male elf, I put my straight male hat on, and both women are gorgeous. Possibly a bit unbelievably so. Jose has an outfit I wouldn't wear, but that doesn't make her face ugly at all, obviously.

Well on Origin Black Friday sale I managed to buy GOTY version of the game and finally play all DLC's. Along with replaying my main playtrough, because I lost my saves a year ago when upgrading to Windows 10 and I forgot to back them up, it was really enjoyable to return back to this game and complete my playthrough finally.
In short all I can say is, holy shit is Tresspasser awesome DLC and the best way to end the Inquisitor's story. And oh boy am I excited for the next DA game, obviously to be set in Tevinter.

I think I have missed all the opportunities to romance Morrigan for my city elf, so its either Leliana or Zevran. I really don't want to romance Zevran since I've already romanced him with my Surana. I would like to try someone else.

When it comes to romances, DAO beats out both DA2 and DAI. Leliana remains my favorite romance; Morrigan, my favorite "guilty" romance. And you have to appreciate how modders have filled out the romances even further. (Luna and Dahlia Lynn have both created nice mods that complement the story.) DA2's Merrill and Isabela are a close second. As to Josie and Cassandra? Facially, Josie is pretty enough though all the "ruffles" leave you wondering what the rest of her looks like. The romance with her is charming and the scene with her sister at the Winter Palace is hilarious. As to Cass, they overdid roughening and toughening her up. With the scar and the extremely short hair, she looks way too much like G.I. Joe.! Couldn't they have let her hair down for the romance cut scenes at least? It's a pity, because the romance is well-written.

She's wearing leather and pants and all that, but she's a fighter. like Aveline was quite muscular and not into girly clothes and has a strong jaw. Cass doesn't even have the jaw prob. And her braid doesn't make logical sense, someone said "rat tail" braid?

For once in his life, Hamin used his brain and decided to sneak past the angry dragon. He did close the rift behind the dragon, since that was kind of his job, but he made sure that neither him or his team ventured close enough to the enormous lizard to earn it's ire.
Having completed everything not dragon shaped in Crestwood, it was time to head to Skyhold. Once there Hamin issued some tasks on the war table, made sure Cole was not harassing the chickens and had drinks with the Iron Bull. Slightly inebriated he made the mistake of talking to Solas, who used the chance to panic about the Grey Wardens. Hamin told him that he was more worried about the demons, which Solas replied were just tools. Hamin judged him silently. Wasn't he the one who demanded that spirits were called people? And weren't demons just naughty spirits. Hamin would have consulted his Keeper if he cared. But he didn't so he just gave Solas a reassuring pat on the shoulder and used Solas' surprised pause to run up the stairs.
There he attempted to get to know Dorian, but got distracted by the Shems horrible fashion sense and excused himself once Dorian had talked his quota for the day. Up the stairs again and this time he made the mistake of talking to Leliana. It was a fairly stiff conversation, until Hamin decided to be kind and ask her how she was dealing with the loss of Justinia. She got to unburden herself and it seemed to be going well. She apologized for her outburst at Haven and Hamin was planning to tell her to just let it pass like water under a bridge. But the drink had stolen his tact and all he ended up saying was "Let's never talk about this again". Leliana did not take it well. Hamin decided it was time to take a break and sober up.
Sobered up he told Blackwall, Cassandra and Sera to gear up, they were going to get sand under their shoes. Cullen had planned to gather up the Adamant Assault force at Griffon Wing Keep while the Inquisition attended the ball at the Winter Palace. So Hamin decided to head out to help fix some problems at the Keep, so his troops wouldn't die from the water infection or the taint.
During the visit to the Western approach, the team dropped off some research books for Frederic the dragon fan. He told them there was a dragon about and Hamin made a note of that, since he didn't want his troops to get eaten by dragons either. The desert was explored thoroughly and the team found some magical ruins to practice dungeon delving before entering Coracavus. It went better than expected and Hamin left the ruins with a brand new staff and a very irritated Sera.
The journey through Coracavus went well, even if Hamin forgot to unload all the loot from the other ruins at the Griffon Wing Keep. So he had to pass up on a fancy tooth-shaped gem, which he was quite pleased about after reading the prisoners log. Ouchies.
Outside there were giants, two of them. Fighting them went well, even if Hamin had a strange sense of deja vu while doing so. Like he had done it once before, fallen in a hole and accidentally turned back time instead of painting a picture of the view from that hole. But that was just crazy talk. Hamin was also reminded of Varrics book, or well the part about the Champion he had bothered to read. The end. Where the iron statues came to life and started fighting the Champion. It would have been cool if the statues in the Courtyard had come to live and fought the Giants to the death. Maybe Varric knew the activation spell or maybe Josie could use her connection to find it.
During these day dreams he managed to open the two locked gates in the approach, close two rifts, find some shards and capture a recently elusive mage called Servis.
Having done all he had planned in the Approach, Hamin was feeling quite good about himself. Like he could do everything. Like he could fight a dragon! So he decided to toss that brain usage from the beginning of that day into the trash where it belonged and the team made it's way to Frederic. They gave Frederic ingredients for baits, a translated book and account of what dragons they had sighted in the area. Then they messed around with some traps and baits until suddenly, a beautiful lizard came flying to them. But it was not a happy lizard. It was hungry and grumpy and spit fire at Hamin and company.
After a short while fighting, Hamin decided to retrieve his brain from the trash and bravely run away from the angry dragon. But vowed to return later, with potions and crafted armor, instead of empty pockets and battlefield left overs.
While Hamin was defeated by the dragon, he was still satisfied with the days effort. Before hitting his pillow with his sleepy head, he told Leliana to use Servis as an agent under probation, had a heart to heart talk with Blackwall, delivered letters to Cullen and tried to get Solas to explain what elves were. Solas thought Hamin was trying to trick him into listening to a lecture, so Solas reacted with hostility and made it clear that he was giving the lecture. Which he got to do and ended up feeling slightly more cheered up. They parted peacefully and Hamin went to bed, trying to use this new information to determine what the void a Mythal was.
TL:DR Ended up loading up the game again and going through the Western Approach with Hamin. Finally connected the dots on the Tooth-shaped gem. Ouch. Got the loot about Echo Back Canyon Camp. So not worth it. Servis forgot to equip the ring of doubt, so now he's all mine! Mwahaha. Also, keep forgetting that Hamin is not Mytjan, so his walls of text should be a bit more serious. And shorter.

Bruenor finished roaming the Deep Roads. Found lots of treasure and lots of weird shit. Varric really wasn't kidding about the latter.
This is only the second time I played Descent as a dwarf (first time was my first time through) so I tried to take all the dwarfy options available. There are actually quite a few of them.
After unloading all the loot and upgrading everyone's weapons and armor, Bruenor ran around to talk to everyone [except Sera since I didn't want to do pranks yet]. He had drinks with Bull and some of the Chargers, broke up an argument between Dorian and Mother Giselle, learned that Solas respects and Cassandra admires him, and listened to Josie wax nostalgic about her homeland of Antiva.
Then it was off to the Winter Palace to foil an assassination plot. Bruenor is just about to investigate the servants' quarters, since it appears there is something funky going on inside.

Aren't all the hairs ugly in DAI though? But Cass looks healthy, and her eye makeup isn't, say, canary yellow like Leliana. She's wearing leather and pants and all that, but she's a fighter. like Aveline was quite muscular and not into girly clothes and has a strong jaw. Cass doesn't even have the jaw prob. And her braid doesn't make logical sense, someone said "rat tail" braid? Yes, all hair is ugly in DAI, but Cass has the worst of a bad lot. (I don't recall her hair being so bad in DAI.) They made her look a touch too "butch" though not as bad as Florianne. I also hate the way hair is unisex, though this was the case in the prior games as well. I don't suppose anyone knows of a mod to make Cassandra's hair more feminine?

I spent a few hours trying to recreate my male warden face in DA2. I never really got close, but I would have played with him because I've never played DA2 as a male. But when I started the game, it was obvious I was adopted. Not saying they were ugly. Alright that is what I'm saying. So once again I am playing a near default female Hawke rogue with an attractive family. Then I wasted a couple more hours, trying to change the handle colour of Isabella's daggers. Anyway, we ran into a Templar and his wife as we were running from the darkspawn. I killed the Templar. What... he was dying anyway, so I was doing him a favour. Carver was killed in a battle with the darkspawn. The rest of us were saved by a witch in dragon form. The witch got us safely to Gwaren where we took ship to Kirkwall. She also gave me an amulet which looks like it would be worth a few sovereigns at least. Our family wasn't as well off as our Mother had led us to believe, and Bethany and I had to work a year for a smuggler to pay off a debt. The year passed quickly and we heard of a Deep Roads expedition that might be a chance to make some real money. When a snatch thief grabs my purse and does a runner, a Dwarf catches him, gets our money back, then lets the thief go. Can you say "smells like a setup". Growing up in Lothering, I haven't had much to do with Dwarves. The only two I'd met were a father and son, who used to sell hot stuff on the Lothering highway. And this one seemed just as shady when he offered to help us get in on his brothers expedition. It's not like we had lots of options, but I'll be keeping an eye on him. So now we are living in the slums with our Uncle. Bethany thinks we should break into our families old estate and retrieve our Grandfathers will. imgur.com/BBXDAqV.jpgAnd Varric wants us to find a Grey Warden with a map of the Deep Roads. Aveline, the Templar's wife, has joined the city guard, but still hangs around with us at times because she has no-one else. i.imgur.com/eiVS0hI.jpg We got a lead on the Grey Warden, and we were going that way anyway.

From the Diary of Kara Trevelyan: Its been an auspicious day for the Inquisition. I have never before felt more proud of what we have accomplished, yet so dirty by its implications. For those future historians reading this I killed Empress Celene...well no...I let it happen. I had a chance to stop it. Could have sent my people into the fire. Yet I didn't. Celene had to die, I hate it, I hate killing someone who is...ostensiably a good person. Yet wasn't. For the freedom of the Elves, for getting Orlais out of its muck...and to have someone capable of being what Orlais needs to win the day against Corypheus. Plus the spies were a nice touch. Briala and Gaspard should be exactly what Orlais needs. But, it still leaves me feeling dirty.
Complicating the issue is exactly upon returning to Skyhold...Leliana and Cassandra are being considered for the role of the Divine. Right when I got back, they were forcing me this problem. Both women I like, both women I respect, yet both women I have had differences with. Leliana's arrogance scares me, while Cassandra has the right vision. I'd prefer her honestly. Let us see where we go from there.
Plus, crafted a new bow for myself and new armor from Cassandra, after all the Dragon materials we have been...provided. So, had a cut scene that...I have maybe only had with five playthroughs, only once. Scared me half to death because I thought I lost Cole. But it was him helping out one of the surgeons or something. Saying she'd be better off forgeting. I have no idea what I have done this time different then other times with Kara to not get this scene before but it was quite... fascinating. Plus, to add to my personal consternation I do not think i have yet triggered Cassandra's book scene. Pitty, Kara and Cassandra make such good friends when they are friends that its a bit disconcerting... But I did craft a new Dragon Super Bow for Kara and Templar armor for Cass.

So we met with the Grey Warden. Of course he couldn't just sell us the map, he wanted a favour. Snatch a mage from the Templar's clutches. i.imgur.com/k9MIQ9a.jpgThe sewer access to our old estate was near Ander's clinic, so we went and retrieved our grandfather's will. He had left everything to mother. i.imgur.com/8NB7c3W.jpgWe met with Anders at the Chantry in the evening, but we were too late to help his mage friend. He had already been made tranquil and had set Anders up. It was then we learned that the Grey Warden is an abomination, glowing eyes and everything. After the fight with the templars, Anders ended his friends existance. i.imgur.com/16HRcFN.jpgBack at the Hanged Man, we witnessed a fight between a buxom sailor and a group of men. After she had dealt with them, she offered us the job of watching her back. I could think of worse things I could be doing, so we went along. i.imgur.com/GHlwQvA.jpgAfter we helped her out, she offered to tag along with us for a bit. And if there was any doubt as to a bit of what, she mentioned she had a room at the Hanged Man. i.imgur.com/isKQWjs.jpgAveline had a job for us, dealing with some raiders up the coast. i.imgur.com/IQmv9fF.jpgThey were pretty well armed for bandits. i.imgur.com/UXdtL23.jpg I couldn't find a buyer for the witches amulet, people were interested, but would quickly back out after touching it. Bethany thought it would be safer to do as the witch asked. So we took it to the wild elves in the hills. Their leader said we must take it higher up the mountain and perform some ancient rite. i.imgur.com/AScjNrX.jpgShe was sending a girl she called her first with us to perform the ritual, and then asked that we take her with us when we left. i.imgur.com/t7DQF7C.jpgSpirits on the mountain were not at rest i.imgur.com/ldErGxH.jpgThe ritual on the amulet brought forth the witch. And it certainly didn't look like the confinement had done her body any harm. She spoke cryptically, as is the way with witches I suppose. But said my debt to her was paid. i.imgur.com/RF6eoLV.jpg We dropped the young Elf back at the Kirkwall alienage, and promised to come and visit her some time.
