Wow, I've been posting a lot on this thread haha. Sorry about that! I'm enjoying chronicling my first time doing a full run of all 3 games + their DLC. Inquisition got me into the series, and I liked it so much I decided to go back and play the other 2 games. It'll be nice to return to DAI with a custom worldstate this time (I wonder if really makes that much of a difference...) Anyway, finished DAII this past weekend. Final thoughts: - MoTA was kind of weird, tbh. But still fun. Turns out I accidentally missed an entire treasure-puzzle room in Chateau Haine though. Oh well. Next time :/ - So, Tallis was a Ben-Hassrath agent. I wonder if she and Bull ever crossed paths. Bull does have a thing for redheads after all... - As someone who played DAI first, Legacy was very gratifying. It was like the last piece of a puzzle clicking into place. As soon as Corypheus was mentioned, I got really invested. That Larius guy is how he escaped, isn't he? Since he can jump to the body of the nearest tainted creature? It all makes more sense now. - speaking of Corphyface, he was way more fun to fight in Legacy than in DAI lmao. I liked the different voice actor, too - I'm... not exactly sure what happened w Leandra there at the end. Was it her spirit? Was it a vision? Was Hawke high on Lyrium? I guess I'll never know - spared Alain and Cullen actually had the nerve to say "you mean he was one of them until a convenient last-minute change of heart" stfu dude as if you're any better (I guess that was meant to be foreshadowing) - The Lost Swords is a terrible side quest and I am never doing it again - Still wanna know how Anders blew up the Chantry. Did he plant some kind of magical bomb? Was it made of red lyrium? The explosion looked red, and he was apparently able to detonate it from a distance. Maybe I missed something - Sebastian walked out - Fenris walked out and I had to kill him - Aveline walked out but chose not to kill me, surprisingly (this didn't happen in my first playthrough so I didn't know what to expect when she left my party) - In the end the only ones left were Varric, Isabela, Anders, & Merrill. Thank the Creators Carver joined in at the last second so I could have a warrior to fill out my party. I took my mage buddies and the pirate queen with me. Sorry Varric - Used the Skip the Harvester Fight mod bc Orsino randomly turning into a Harvester was just. nonsensical and unnecessary. "Orsino was never intended as a boss if siding with the mages, but was included as Bioware felt that the game needed another boss???" wtf bioware. - Can I just express HOW COOL the final battle is?? I loved it the first time and I loved it this time! Meredith absolutely losing it and doing 50-ft high backflips, frigging statues coming to life, Carver, Zev, Nathaniel & Varric swooping in to save the day (yeah yeah swooping is bad), Meredith going full-villain and monologuing in the middle of the fight, more statues joining the fray and reassembling themselves into different shapes? Epic - The epilogue scene w Cassandra and Leliana is such a perfect segue into Inquisition. DAII really ends on a cliffhanger if you haven't played DAI, doesn't it? Those of you who have been playing DA since the beginning, what was going through your mind after you beat DAII for the first time? What did you think was gonna happen in the 3rd game? - Hawke and Anders get to run off into the sunset to start a revolution together, The End until I dump her in The Fade in DAI, whoops sorry AndersTime to attend the Conclave! Glad to hear you enjoyed DA2, many people tend to find it the weaker link in DA so far...not me though, I love DA2's cast anyway, answering (or trying to answer anyway) a few of your questions (I made them bold in your quote): 1- Corypheus says "if I cannot leave with you I will leave through you" meaning he needs something/someone to escape his prison if you played Varric's companion quest in Inquisition Larius (or Janeka if you sided with her) is mentioned as the 'Warden who Bianca told about the Primeval thaig' Bianca will mention 'he was a mage' with Varric telling her and the Inquisitor 'he certainly wasn't a mage before' (if Larius) 1) I took it as "I'll just blast you out of the way!!!" But that's a good take, though I wonder, since he's also... adressing the party and most of them wouldn't be useful for that purpose, 'cept Anders and a Warden twin.

Well since we learn in Inquisition the person has to be tainted I suppose it makes more sense for him to pick a Warden ...makes me wonder, I tend to have Warden Carver with me, imagine fans horror if they knew they'd unintentionally used their sibling or Anders as Cory's vessel 0_0
I also wonder if the Architect from Awakening had the same ability or if it were a Cory only thing

Hmmm... as far as I remember, Utha is around in that scene, and usually ends up dead if we fight the Architect, so he has... material right there if he has the same ability.

For the last few days I have been exploring and questing in The Hinterlands due to having Walk Softly on and I need to catchup my levels before progressing. I think I am understanding why I found Inquisition to be an okay game for me and its just a lot of little things without having a really big issue to point at as the problem. Things like scaling where the horse seems to be too big for the Inquisitor, the way characters jump, how the ground targets can behave, or how many quests are started by finding a "letter". The one thing that I think bothers me more now then it did in the past is the uncanny valley for the human Inquisitor and frankly the poor hair. Its not a huge deal, but stands out like a sore thumb so (at least I) have a hard time seeing past it especially in dialogue. A lot of those things wouldn't be a problem on their own, but combined it just becomes something like an itch you cannot scratch.

Yea hhair wa spretty bad in DAI there was only 2 maybe 3 decent hairstyles in the game. I'm just glad it's one of the games I find easy to mod so can work around that.

A little frustrated today. When I try to load any of the saves I have for my most recent playthrough I get the error telling me that I saved the game using a newer version of Inquisition. I am able to load my old Inquisition saves from when the game was first released its just the most recent game. Now I am not to the point where I am going to give up on the game since I was in the Hinterlands still and there was a lot of relearning the game. It just frustrating that I lost six to seven hours of gameplay.

Just arrived at Skyhold and I've already triggered Sera's prank quest. If I do it now, I know that I'll get the bug where Cullen vanishes from Skyhold permanently (no great loss, I dislike him anyway, but I don't like having a broken game). But Cullen's personal quest doesn't trigger until after Here Lies The Abyss/Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts. So I can't talk to Sera until after I've done one of those main quests... which is a problem, bc I'm trying to romance her. Ugh. Why was this never fixed???

- Just met Tallis and I already adore her. That intro scene? Perfection Did you still adore her in the end after listening her talk and watching her actons? - I'm... not exactly sure what happened w Leandra there at the end. Was it her spirit? Was it a vision? Was Hawke high on Lyrium? I guess I'll never know It was Varric using his imagination who told Cassandra about that adding the word "liberty". The same thing Varric did with Beth breast during the tutorial part. With Leandra alive the dialogue is the same anyway. - spared Alain and Cullen actually had the nerve to say "you mean he was one of them until a convenient last-minute change of heart" stfu dude as if you're any better I am only surprised Cullen did not say aloud that Hawke is a dumbass being soft on that lier Alain. But since Hawke is the champion, Cullen restrained from saying that. - Used the Skip the Harvester Fight mod bc Orsino randomly turning into a Harvester was just. nonsensical and unnecessary. "Orsino was never intended as a boss if siding with the mages, but was included as Bioware felt that the game needed another boss???" wtf bioware. Orsino turining into Harvester just shows Orsino's nature more detailed since we already know he is responsable for the death of Hawke's mother, he is a blood mage hiding it all the time and more. It is another boss fight which might be annoying - it is combat-part. Story-wise: not unexpected move from Orsino telling one thing, but at the same time doing the opposite. Just arrived at Skyhold and I've already triggered Sera's prank quest. If I do it now, I know that I'll get the bug where Cullen vanishes from Skyhold permanently (no great loss, I dislike him anyway, but I don't like having a broken game). So I can't talk to Sera until after I've done one of those main quests... which is a problem, bc I'm trying to romance her. Ugh. Why was this never fixed??? Hear about this bug the very first time. Have never had problems with that.

I totally feel you, having just finished it for the first time, Jaws Of Hakkon and The Descent, I find myself wishing the main Campaign resembled the DLC far more, onto Trespasser pretty soon after mopping up achievements- really hoping it resembles traditional Dragon Age more.

The last two DLC had the benefit of being for the newer console hardware only, so they were able to improve the output instead of cutting back and hopefully being able to cram it onto the older console hardware.

I'm playing through the DA2 DLC for the first time in many moons and had Carver freeze up during the Corypheus fight. I couldn't even get him to move by pulling a Harbinger and assuming direct control. This is why you're not the protagonist, Carver.

Plan t oge tback in and get my Inquisitor out of the fade at least today.

This far in, I think for me Champions is probably the best choice because it offers a boost to stats which isn't an option with the mage path. Of course if its working on canon for your Inquisitor it doesn't matter too much, but reward wise for me its the better choice.

Plus not being a mage huimself he felt it's smarter for dealing wit hthe breac hwit hthose that know how to handle such things. Made it out of the fade currentl yworking throug hsome side quests in the Hinterlands and completing Varric's Vallammar quest. a pair of rather interesting mods for DA2 was released today DLC timing gives the player the option to play the two main dlc's (Legacy and MotA) in between Acts to fill in the "gaps" options to play the dlc's between Act1-Act 2 or Act 2-Act3 Automatic Chargen launches the Black Emporium between acts so you can alter your appearance before stepping into the new Act so your character actually "changes" between Acts both mods were created by the same author(s) and were developed alongside one another so no conflicts between mods
I myself personally like having my own agency about when I play the dlc's, but I thought I might post these for those of you interested

Finished Inquisition, including Trespasser, I really tried to like this- but it's just awful.
However interesting the lore, it does not matter when I don't ultimately care about the story, the newly introduced characters, and I don't ever feel the consequences of my actions.
With the exceptions of (mostly characterised in Inquisition) Cassandra and Solas and Dorian and Rainer you deserve a better entry.

Still find it a bit odd that whether you kill Florianne or not you still have to judge her
