I'm almost where my S&S Lady Warrior Trevelyan was with my new Lady Mage Trevelyan. Killing things is so much faster now and the party gets less damaged too...despite running around with two mages, a rogue and a single warrior. As they say, offense is the best defense. Also, ice. Ice is good defense. Vivienne basically has all the Winter tree and I got Winter's grasp...my favorite spell since DAO, I never play a mage without it. So the battlefields are more like icefields. Full girl party too. Sera hates Vivienne. Vivienne reaction to Sera is basically . I sometimes wants to punch Vivi, so it might not be just Sera. Cassandra is just *disgusted noises* I suspect, she haven't talked much so far. I was running with Blackwall for a while, but I switched back to Cassandra. I can't play without my best pal. I need to clear the rebel Mages, wait for some war table missions to complete and finish the side quests around the Horsemaster to be where I was at on my previous character. I also have enough skulls to go Necro already and two Wisp essences for KE. I think that might be because of a mod that increase crafting drops from enemies. I'm thinking going KE instead of Necro now too. Since I tend to love jumping in the middle of enemies and KE fits my character concept more (i.e. full on I'm the Herald of Andraste). Everyone is looking at Vivienne wondering what the hell she is wearing and if she is sleeping well... Taking screen while having dialogue can lead to some funny face

Had a meeting with Hawke and the warden Stroud. Hawke and the Inquisitor look like sisters I guess they do . Funny thing is that Hawke is just the default Hawke with a different hairstyle and hair color, i already gave up trying to recreate my DA2 Hawkes as i usually fail miserably at this .

I'm deadlocked. I wanted to finish the Hinterlands + Mire and Coast (sans dragons depending what level I can reach) before picking a group to help me close the breach, but playing as a Mage I want to get my specialization ASAP now. I've done all the stuff in the Hinterlands except for the quarry and the merc fortress area. I haven't visited the other zone even if I have them unlocked (which means I haven't recruited Bull yet). Oh and it's a terrible idea to go face a level 12 Rift at level 8 when both mages in the party have cold staves (both were just the best I found yet) and winter spells and the rift spawns Despair demons super resistant to cold.

Played some chess with Cullen and then ventured to the Western Approach: - Conquered the Griffon Wing Keep. - Done a few quests for professor Frederic of Serault, including retrieving an ancient manuscript from the Still ruins and hunting down the Abyssal High Dragon (for the first time i had some kind of bug that turned the dragon immortal after depleting all her health bar , i had to reload and start the fight again). - Travelled to Coracavus, closed the Darkspawn entrance, fought three Giants and captured Servis. - Confronted Erimond in the ancient tower before he fled to Adamant Fortress.

Sooooo. It just hit me. Blood magic is weird. Yeah, I know, old news, lol. But as I started the Descent DLC there was the old faithful elevator talk and Emissaries were mentioned.
Now, Emissaries are former dwarfs, but can use magic. We know lyrium is a main booster for magic users and even dwarfs can use it to do magic when influenced by a Titan. The Blight originates from red lyrium, thus the Emissaries use Blight magic that is actually red lyrium magic.
So we got Blue and Red lyrium magic. Same source for both - Titans. But Blood magic seems to be entirely separate. And it doesn't have a counterpart? Or does it? Is Blood magic a human invention? Did the ancient elves know about it? Does it exist because of the Veil only?

I finished doing the stuff in the Forbidden Oasis (aka Rift closing and shard collections) and I had enough shards to open two doors (well three with the main entrance). I choose fire, because I feared the ice door was going to not like all my winter based spells selection. After that I went to the Wet Coast to find some wardens trinkets they left behind and what happened to some inquisition soldiers. Also, pick-up a merc bandit, they now drink Haven meads instead of whatever was in those casks. I dealt with some bandits/not-bandits too (they work for me now) and I got stonewalled by a stone door (you can't set down the operation flag until you get Skyhold). A few more things left to do on that map because it's all post Skyhold. Back at Haven, I think Blackwall flirted with me. Next I'm going to the mire, to, again, found out what happened to some inquisition soldiers. Why do they always get in trouble? I have the Mercernary section of the Hinterland left to do too. Then I have to pick between Mages or Templars (although I prefer thinking of it as Samson vs Calpernia and Calpernia wins every time). I had some hilarious banter between Sera and Vivienne. I'm starting to think Vivi decided Sera was some insignificant fungus she can entertain with wits and crazy stories. Have no fear Sera, Vivi is still wearing some awful looking clothes and probably don't sleep at night. Whomever build the Solasan temple were huge people. The Wet coast, Sera was all exited by what was happening down below. " We can watch, right?"

This morning was mostly dedicated to Adamant Fortress: Stroud was the one that was left behind, the remaining wardens joined the Inquisition and Erimond was executed. In Skyhold: Cullen struggled with lyrium withdrawal and was encouraged to fight his addiction; Dorian had a meeting with his father and tried to forgave him; Cassandra got the latest chapter of Swords and Shields from Varric.

So, people with Nvidia cards, which filters do you use for DAI. I have been tweaking around the GeForce Experience ones, but can't find something better than just the default "Sharpen+" one.

Can't be bothered using the filters other than to adjust brightness or Exposure. If a game has Photo Mode I use that otherwise I default use FRAPS as it's just easier than Nvidia's screenshot and photo mode.

I meant for improving the gameplay graphics. The Sharpen+ filter improves the details on everything, including faces, armor, surfaces, etc. It's just a bit wonky on water, but it's not a bad trade off. Playing for a while with it makes playing without it feel very blurry. Was wondering if anyone found good combinations with the other filters that improve the image further. Also, Sharpen+ generally does wonders on older games, including really good results in SWTOR.

Where in the NVIDIA Control panel do I find it or is it GE Experience?

Where in the NVIDIA Control panel do I find it or is it GE Experience? It's a GeForce Experience feature. You have to go into the settings of GeForce Experience and make sure the "experimental features" is enabled - I think it's a toggle/tick there near the "About" message in the Settings window. Then the default activation in a game is with Alt+F3 for the filter menu (unless you changed the hotkeys) or through the GeForce Experience ingame overlay menus (the overlay should be enabled). When the filter menu is open, you just click "Add" and it offers a variety of filters. Pick the Sharpen+ and it activates. You can do it at any time, turning it on and off from the selection options in the same menu, as it doesn't pause or interfere with cutscenes or gameplay. That way you can compare image changes directly as you look at the screen. Once you activate the filter for a game, it remembers it and you don't have to activate it again on next game starts, until you manually turn it off.

Decided to go and finish my least favorite area in the game: the Hissing Wastes. Afterwards i went through some of the companions quests: - Josephine managed to elevate the Du Paraquettes to nobility and no longer has any assassins after her. - The Chargers were saved instead of the Qunari dreadnought so Bull is now a Tal-Vashoth. - Kissed Cullen in the battlements. - Cole is more human now. - Cassandra confronted Lord Seeker Lucius, read the Book of Secrets and decided to reform the Seekers.

So...I'm really starting to ponder on the world state I wish to use going forward with a YouTube playthrough
On one hand I have my personal canon: Raelyn Tabris: elven female rogue (bard-shadow), wielding her trusty crossbow Mirabelle, romancing Zevran major choices include; Alistair as sole King, recruiting the mages, elves (with werewolves cured), dwarves of Orzammar (with Bhelen as King and Anvil destroyed), killing Connor and not defiling the Ashes, Alistair performs the Ritual. Saves both Amaranthine and the Vigil, let's the Architect escape and finishes Witch Hunt allowing Morrigan to leave in peace
Ailith Hawke: female spirit healer mage, romancing Fenris major choices include; Carver is a Warden (therefore Stroud as Warden contact), Arishok dueled for Isabela, supports the mages and allows Anders to life, finishes both Legacy (siding with Larius) and Mark of the Assassin Gwyneth Lavellan: elven female rift mage, romancing Cullen major choices include; denies being Andraste's Chosen, recruits the Mages, "Truce" in Orlais, Wardens kept and Stroud left in the Fade, sides with Guardians and drinks from the Well herself. Leliana as Divine, dlc's completed, reveals truth about Ameridan. Disbands the Inquisition and will attempt to redeem Solas
and on the other hand I have a few characters cooked up that might be somewhat more interesting as a whole, namely: Ronja Brosca: dwarven female rogue (duelist-shadow) dual wielding axes, romancing Zevran pretty much the same choices as Raelyn, but with difference being that she'd keep the Anvil of the Void and recruit Loghain who'd then perform the Ritual. (This would mean having Alistair + Anora as rulers)
Kara Hawke: female two-handed reaver warrior, romancing Fenris same choices as Ailith, with the main difference being Bethany becoming a Circle mage Malak Adaar: qunari female rift mage, romance undecided
pretty much the same choices as Gwyneth, but might not let her drink from the Well of Sorrows since I don't feel like she'd have a right to do so.
so yeah...decisions, decisions
Edit: forgot to add that I'd like opinions on these two versions as well...if possible (suppose it'd be helpful to know a bit about the plot of Dreadwolf to better plan the race I'll pick in that one...but eh *shrug* I'm tired of waiting )

That will bring them views. I can't choose based on what seems cool because that's subjective. As for DAD, there is no mystery here. It's Tevinter. The fitting choice is human, human mage or elf. Personally, I've played too many elves and Hawke was human, so I will try to go for the non-fitting option if the game allows me.

I do think the other option could be interesting, but I also kinda prefer playing elves... for my own canon I plan on doing elf-human-elf-human...so Dreadwolf's protagonist will be human (also funny is that their romances are somewhat reflecting that as well, elf+elf , human + elf, elf + human...so DAD's romance will likely be human...provided said romance is one I'd be interested in)
though I've yet to think on the class, since two out of three of my protagonists so far are mages, though that'll depend on the gameplay itself

I'd say option 1 purely because of Cullen. That will bring them views. I can't choose based on what seems cool because that's subjective. As for DAD, there is no mystery here. It's Tevinter. The fitting choice is human, human mage or elf. Personally, I've played too many elves and Hawke was human, so I will try to go for the non-fitting option if the game allows me. hm...fair point
You doubt mages aren't going to be great to play despite them being great 3 games in a row? It's hilarious in my case. I don't start as a Mage (in DAO/DA2 I didn't finish the starter PT with a non-mage), but I always end-up just playing mage eventually.

I don't start as a Mage (in DAO/DA2 I didn't finish the starter PT with a non-mage), but I always end-up just playing mage eventually. Well...depends, I suck at the melee classes in Inquisition (tried a warrior once, got her to Skyhold but grew bored), I love dagger rogue in DA2 (they're like a frog with ADHD) in Origins...I love archers, but rogues in DAO seem more geared toward melee rogues, especially with most of their class specific talents (my main girl is still an archer rogue though)
So far I've done all of the classes in DAO, but I prefer mages and archers DA2, as said above...dagger rogue or mage and I've only finished Inquisition with a mage...three times
I'm sensing a pattern
But I think it also really depends on the specializations and spells in general that we'll get...I just hope healers make a return...I need my designated healer my most fun and interesting playthrough in DAO was an elven mage spirit healer - battlemage...she just didn't want to die (that character helped me get the "don't die" achievement) in DA2 I once played a mage Hawke who had no attack spells aside from spirit bolt, and could only stun with mind blast...the fight with the Arishok took quite a bit but was so worth it in the end. And then Inquisition rolled around and...barrier spamming I guess? On my last playthrough I killed one of the high dragons with an all mage party...great fun
Also, I'm pretty much the same where I'm all "I'll make a different character this time around" and then they always end up either mages or sarcastic little shites of rogues example being my Smuggler in SWTOR...I went into the game being all "Imma be a wise and powerful Jedi"...and atm. my two favorite class stories are the Agent and Smuggler...go figure though I think it also had to do with the fact that in the first KotOR you start as a nobody and turn out to be a powerful Jedi/Sith, wheras I just wanted to stay the nobody who'd kick Malak's arse without fancy powers, which is why it feels soooo good to kick Malgus/Valkorion ass as a non Jedi

"Iron Bull: Are you sure you're not, maybe, just a little bit tamassran, ma'am? Vivienne: My dear, I don't believe there is such a thing as "a little bit tamassran." Iron Bull: All right, point taken. But you're pretty tall for a human. Maybe there was a Qunari there a few generations back? Vivienne: Bull, darling, I wear high heels and tall hats. Fashion is not, so far as I know, a demand of the Qun. Iron Bull: You've got a point there. Usually the Qun doesn't even demand pants."
So... just a crazy thought. Based on dialogue from other moments of the game, Bull does seem to know plenty about Qunari genetic manipulation. So I'd guess he is a reliable source when it comes to Qunari breeding.
Then, perhaps we can take this conversation with Vivienne as meaning that true hybrids are possible when Qunari have babies with other races? You know, unlike elves who cannot produce hybrids at all.

You know, unlike elves who cannot produce hybrids at all.An elf breeding with a none-elf result in a non-elf looking hybrid. Alistair wouldn't exist otherwise. Also, Sandal is rumored to be a elf-dwarf hybrid. It's been hinted at Qunari being a mutated species via dragon blood. Considering the pointed ears, the starting point was probably elves. Actually, there are two basic things that are always true in Dragon Age: the apostate did it! and Ancient Elves are responsible!. DAI was both colliding.

Ended the day travelling to Ferelden with Cullen and receiving his lucky coin. Harding: "She always comes back. Pay up, salroka."

So Absolution made me want to play DA2 instead of DAI. And I was thinking Rogue so I could jump around like in the anime . So I installed DA2 and then I see "continue" so I go check the character saves I have: level 27 Rogue. I suspect it's a purple Hawke too, I won't bother loading it since it's a complete PT. But it is exactly what I wanted to play. Oh well, it's been two years. It's time to bring mayhem to Kirkwall again. Or maybe I should do an Spirit/Entropy/Arcane Hawke...Walking Bombs, Walking Bombs. Wait that's basically my original DAI plans.
