Of the two, Trevelyan is the lower priority one and will go after Alexius if/when I things get boring with Lavellan. The girl on the left is a character from The Chronicles of Prydain. I gave her mother's name, Angharad, to this Trevelyan.

At the moment I'm playing as Lavellan: she's a middle-aged warrior who uses 2-handed weapons so that I don't need to bring a warrior along and because I'm planning this playthrough to be the lore-heavy one in which I drag Cole everywhere to hear his thoughts. Thus far the notable events have included Lavellan being the Inquisitor to not screw up the Chantry Remains. I'd gotten Grand Cleric Iona war table mission three times until I looked up the mission and found out you get it if Inquisitor's attempt to handle Chantry clerics in Orlais isn't successful. My 4th Inky finally chose Josephine for the mission – and prompty lost (even picking Josie there's a 1-in-4 chance to fail). I'm looking forward to finally getting Orlesian Army Warrior Armor schematic.

Another thing I was finally successful in had to do with Ser Barris. First time I chose the templars I managed to get him killed and got his replacement Fletcher. The second time I took great care to keep him alive – and then had templars yield to Inquisition. Well done, you idiot. So in order to (at last) see Barris's promotion I'm going to follow wiki's guide when doing his war table missions. Two previous times also I hadn't done the flag ritual, so now Abernache ended up dead. In Therinfal Redoubt's courtyard there was idle talk about a lord who was 7th in line to Orlais throne and now I'm wondering if that was supposed to be Abernache. I checked Valmont family tree and Gaspard and Florianne were Celene's only living first cousins. So I'm guessing Abernache would have been a second cousin? I like the dynamic Abernache has with Movran the Under, so this will be the first and last time of raising those flags.

After finishing Champions of the Just it was time for Corypheus and Calpernia to attack Haven. I got all the townspeople killed because I'd forgotten this mechanic, reloaded to rectify this, and Lavellan made it to Skyhold.

I had trouble trying to come up a name for this Inquisitor until I remembered a certain oracle from Suikoden V who had a soft spot for her bald-headed, elven right-hand man. So, Haswar it was.

I like your choice to play as an older protagonist. Few people do it.

...thing is, my male Hawke's always fall for Isabela while my female ones always fall for Fenris even if I have a different idea in mind :lol:

However so far so good, I managed not to click any flirt options with Fenris

so far (though I am going to pick the obligated one in Act 2 for Hawke to offer to teach him how to read...I feel like that shouldn't be a flirt option :ytho:

I'm pondering about my YouTube playthrough again :lol:

Specifically the choice of who to support in Inquisition in regards to the mages or templars
My Inquisitor is going to be a Qunari mage, so she'd be more inclined to side with the mages, however...I'm not sure if I want to ally with them or conscript them
I'm also going to try and get Cassandra as my Divine for this playthrough, so I'm not sure how to go about doing that atm.

So far in my DA Keep I have; accepts being chosen by Andraste (which should make Cass happy), conscripts the mages (more happy Cass, but also gives Viv massive points toward her election :why:

), Gascard as sole ruler of Orlais (Cass approves of this option), keep the Wardens (which Cass doesn't approve of)

anyway, according to my calculations, having the templars and Gaspard around would give Cass a massive boost (I just hate Champions of the Just soo much :pinched:

)

So I'm nearly (finally) done with Act 1, just need to do Act of Mercy and Shepherding Wolves...and of course the Deep Roads Expedition

Atm. I'm conflicted as to what to do with Bethany, I can either let her die in the Deep Roads (which...ya know, I'd never do 'cause I don't have the stomach to kill her like that), make her a Warden (and have her resent Hawke for the rest of the game) or leave her behind thus sending her to the Circle, knowing I'll be siding with the Templars :pinched:

On one hand making her a Warden would exclude her from the equation of the whole mage/templar war thing (thus making it less stressing to actually choose the Templars 'cause she won't be directly affected)...but she's so much happier in the Circle

given that my Hawke is going to support the Templars...erh...making Merrill and Anders full on rivals would make sense... :why:

(already kinda sorta pissed of Merrill by accidentally leaving her in the party when talking to Cullen and saying "I'll support the Templars" *sob*)

but I'm also still debating Bethany's fate...if she goes along on the expedition, and I want to make her a Warden...I'll have to take Anders along which will give him a measly 5 friendship...thus putting him at 0, I mean raising Merrill's friendship is easy in Act 2, just hand her the Arulin'Holm and she'll be happy, but I dunno if I want to piss off Anders...never really did that before

but I'm actually really scared about having to loose Merrill if I side with the Templars at the end :pinched:

So the last few days have been mucking around starting DA2 with my recreated original female human rogue imported from DAAO.

I am really happy with the recreation but couldn't remember exactly what hair I used so went with this one but can anyone see what the problem is? Bethany's abominable hairstyle. I had forgotten about this feature that changes Bethany etc. depending on Hawkes facial choices, does anyone know of a mod that will fix this, the one I tried required multiple other mods replacing ones I already use.

Does anyone know what preset you have to use for Bethany to have her long hair?

Using the mod that didn't work was almost an improvement :lol:

Anyway persevered after seriously several times thinking about restarting or changing Hawkes to standard Hawke, because seriously that hair on Bethany is just awful. I am glad Carver is already dead he looked like Hawkes father rather than her brother.

Got to Kirkwall, joined The Red Iron this time, delivered Flemeth's locket and took Merrill back to Kirkwall. Did I mention how bad Bethany's hair is?

I suppose the easy solution is just not to take her anywhere and let her die in the Deep Roads but that seems a bit harsh just cause she has a bad hair cut.

So re the above gave up and decided to start again and just use the default Hawke preset and then go to The Black Emporium and change Hawke when that becomes playable. Apparently that doesn't change the family members.

for my canon Hawke I use preset 6 with fair skin because I like Carver with longer hair, for my YouTube one I use preset 2 (technically 1 after the default one) which gives you the default family ^_^
