No mods. But the keep is not picking up my last wardens at all. Do you still have upload character profile ticked in the online option.? Also it won't upload them if you have the developer console enabled. You need to start the game with the console disabled and save the game. (still might take 10 minutes) changing your armour and then saving often speeds it up. Hmm, Sienna uploaded fine but I'll go back and do the armor trick for Irene. But there is nothing different between the two saves that I know of. I don't use the console but I think it is enabled.

Night Terrors So, this time, Serafina “murder is the answer” Hawke thought that she’d probably made herself enough of a distraction for the Authorities In Command (one of the only upsides to losing Beth to the Wardens is that now Hawke’s free to get in Templars’ faces. Except not really, because Merrill & Anders.) that Arianni & Marethari smuggled Marethari & Feynriel in Kirkwall. Entering The Fade isn’t exactly something she does a lot of, so she asked Merrill and Anders to come (they’re mages; they know Fade stuff), and also Isabela by process of elimination (Fenris is too anti-magic to be any kind of help, he’d probably freak out; Aveline is almost the same; and Varric’s a dwarf, who knows how/if he could even enter the Fade?). And told Marethari in no uncertain terms she was not going to make Feynriel Tranquil. (like, if she has to snap out of his dreams to kill him irl – that she might do – but unwilling Tranquility is revolting. What is she, a Templar?) The situation then promptly goes to shit when Justice takes over. For context: last time Hawke saw Justice, she barely got Anders to back down from killing a mage they were trying to save. Hawke’s 100% behind Anders’ fight for mage rights, but she’s not Justice’s biggest fan.
The situation continues to go to shit when, buoyed by Merrill’s presence, Hawke tests out Torpor, tells Anders to kindly stfu while she’s working things out, and –OH FUCK YOU, REALLY???
Then, of course: Isabela gets seduced with promises of big boats – yeah, Hawke’s got nothing – and then—
It hurts a bit when Merrill listens to the Pride demon. At first Hawke thinks it’s a trick, like they’re pulling on Torpor. Then it hurts because faced with the demon’s promises to Merrill, and Feynriel’s own hopes for recognition among his mother’s people, Hawke realizes she never really thought about Merrill’s identity as an elf; she’s always been supportive, but more out of principle than anything, and the things that make Merrill Merrill, she’s seen them as—Merrill being a mage, from a different tradition than her family’s, but living the life of an apostate.
She turns on Torpor with extreme prejudice, because 1)fuck you, 2)she wants to take out her aggressiveness on something, and 3)she thinks she always meant to turn on him, but like, if Merrill was going to fall prey to a demon’s machinations (and Merrill knows a ton more about demons and possession than Hawke), the sooner Hawke gets rid of Torpor the better. Feynriel decides to go to fucking Tevinter: it sounds like it could be a terrible plan, but sure better than turning into an abomination here or being made Tranquil. She suggests Rivain if Tevinter doesn’t work.
Afterward she and Merrill talk, because what happened in the Fade is terrifying, including for Merrill; Hawke tells Merrill she trusts her, Merrill is pretty shaken, they discuss the risks of blood magic (not shown in game: discussing Merrill’s elven heritage and the fact that Hawke had sort of dismissed that, however she didn’t mean to; basically Hawke starts feeling concerned about elven rights the same way she does about mage rights). Also not shown: they cuddle. Sappiness.
Isabela’s okay, Hawke’s not really angry at her anyway. The talk with Merrill did drive home that anyone can be manipulated by a demon. Chances are, Hawke and Isabela are never going to find themselves in the Fade again, so it seems silly to be upset about something that’s not going to happen again.
With Anders, Hawke opens with telling him she was lying to Torpor, and then they proceed to have another good conversation. Hawke leaves reassured that at least Justice is well-intentioned and not a liar, but she makes a note to talk to Merrill. Justice in the Fade didn’t act the same as the one who almost killed Ella, but it’s not easy to say which is which, with Anders. At least Anders made it clear that in the Fade, he was there, conscious but unable to act, so he’s separate enough from Justice for that.
Hawke did a lot more thinking that she’s done in a while, but that’s probably the lack of Templars.

Doing Emprise du Lion stuff like killing baddies. Because killing is my business and business has been good. So many times that I've played this game, this is the first time I noticed these frozen corpses in the ceiling.

--I trimmed my Christmas tree. It looks nice with some twinkling colored lights. Now we just have to finish getting the few lawn ornaments up. It's some net lights for our hedges (white) and lolly pops that have small white lights inside of them that twinkle. --Did Descent. Take Varric with you; he makes the most comments about the circumstances. Dorian also quips a lot. "Even darkspawn can appreciate a little mood lighting." --If you want to go after all of the collectables, hope you're not afraid of heights. I am. Some of those items were in very precarious spots. A couple of them left my palms sweaty and my hands a little shaky. I got through it though. I missed one mug but got all of the gears. Good enough for me. I also finished all of the operations and needed WT missions too. I got all of the gates open and... finally met the Nug King. I think the devs were seriously sleep deprived when they came up with that. The final boss was a cinch this time. Dorian and Solas was fully lightning specced and I lived in Tac Cam. It's the only time in the entire game where staying in Tac Cam was damned near essential for me for an entire boss fight. Just knock out the rock flails first. Keep your dps focused on those things until they are all dead. Static Charge and Chain Lightning are your best friends during this fight. Also, Shaper Valtra's voice was bugging me. Where did I know her from? Let's see: --A very lovely example of a non-human race. --A bit of an outcast. --Into archaeology and the history of her people. --Knows enough of a dead language to give us/our character info. --Looking for a progenitor race. --Pretty voice, slightly condescending. --Extreme crisp pronunciation. I googled to make sure, but yep...that's Liara's VA. It sounds a lot like her too. Now I can't unhear it. I kept calling her Liara for the rest of the DLC after that. Now I have the Arbor Wilds to do. I'm going to start JoH after that so I can take Solas with me.

So Cailan wanted me to attend war council with the rest of the bigwigs. Me and not Alistair? Go figure. Anyway they needed someone to babysit some of Teyrn Loghains men at the Tower of Ishal. The king specifically wanted me and Alistair to do it. We are supposed to make sure the beacon at the top is lit on Duncans command signal. All of which will signal the Teyrn to move in and strike the darkspawn horde in the flank and thereby routing them. So no big battle for us. And I was sooooo worked up with rage after that joining thing. SOD! All the pain and a very obvious target. Alistair wasn't to happy about it either. Well going over the bridge overlooking the battlefield I began to appreciate the sheer number of darkspawn on the field. By the stone and then some. I mean pull my ears and call me an elf I sure hope this plan works out. I should have known by now that nothing is ever easy. Babysit my behind. Going up to the tower we met a mage and one of Loghains guards running for their lives. Apparently the tower was overrun by darkspawn coming up from the catacombs or something. We conscripted those two and rushed in. Boy did I get my bloodthirst quenched. We had to fight one of those darkspawn warlocks. I hate them. I have only met a couple but that is some creepy and damaging shit they pull out. Had him (?) running like a little kid. They never do start pleading though. Our mage proved really useful. We finally made it to the top only to be greeted by an Ogre. Ah yes a gigantic Ogre. By then my blood was pumping hot like crazy, I must have swallowed a lot more darkspawn blood than at the joining. The fire! At one time the ogre got me in his grip and crushed me as his other fist pounded me. I should have died right there and then but then the mage pulled some fancy magic trick and the giant was paralyzed from top to bottom. Thank you mage! Thank the maker and thank the sodding stone. I pried myself loose and stabbed him again and again and again. Until he finally toppled and fell over dead. I made damn sure he bled out alright. So we lit the beacon and Loghain, the treacherous son of a nug, retreated. Leaving the King, Duncan and the rest of the wardens to die. We only had a few seconds to contemplate the situation before the darkspawn swarmed up the stairs from below. I took at least ten arrows before I passed out. White is the last I remember. Not black. Makes you think. I'm still here telling my story so obviously I didn't die there Or did I? So when I awoke I was in a hut with that girl from the wilds. Apparently her mother (!) had saved me and Alistair from the tower and the darkspawn. Morrigan claimed her mother had transformed into a huge bird an plucked us out of there to safety. Well I'm not going to question that because I have no better explanation. That's not all though. I turns out Morrigans mother is actually Flemeth, the legendary witch of the wilds. Daveth had some stories to tell about her. None too pleasant. Anywho, that's like the second time she's helped us. Alistair was trying to hold it together. I'm impressed with Flemeths and Morrigans healing skills. Morrigan claims to be "no healer" but I came out of the ordeal with barely a scratch. Yet I could fell my ribs break and the arrows pierce me. Well Flemeth helped us figure out what to do next. There wasn't much choice really. We have to try and muster some kind of force to battle the darkspawn. We have the treaties (Flemeth manged to secure them again!) so we could get help from Orzammar (yeah right like I could), the Dalish elves (m'kay) and some mages. Alistair also have faith in some Arl Eamon that he seems to know personally. I have my doubts but we have to try. No use in giving up because the blight isn't going away all by itself. Flemeth only wanted one small favour from us. To take Morrigan with us. Morrigan wasn't to happy about that, neither was Alistair but I am not going turn down any help now. We sure can use a capable mage - apostate or not. First stop was to be Lothering. A small village on the highway. On the way we mat another familiar face. The Mabari from the camp! He had come to warn us of some darkspawn in ambush. Good dog. He will stay with us and I named him Centurion. Eventually we will be Legion but it's a start. All to Morrigans dismay. Morrigan and Alistair take turns taunting each other and more often than not Morrigan gets the upper hand. Alistair seems to handle it well though. Right outside Lothering we met this group of highwaymen. Boy were they in for a surprise. In the chantry we met one of Arl Eamons knights. Apparently the Arl was very sick. Some unknown disease and they were out on some quest for the urn where Andrastes ashes was supposedly stored. The knight was skeptic but we had a lead to a Brother Genitivi who might know more. We will have to go to Redcliffe to check on this Arl no doubt. Before it's to late. We learnt that the traitor Loghain is pinning the disaster of Ostagar on the grey wardens! Bastard of a duster stone! In the inn we had a run in with some of Loghains men. I sent them home to their master with a clear message. We got help from a chantry sister in that fight. Leliana, an orlesian beauty. She was adamant on joining our little group. Well, like before beggars just can't be choosers. Not that I really mind but I hope she won't be too preachy. We did run some simple and more muscular errands for the refugees and the people of Lothering. We need the coin and they sure are having it tough right now. I hope they understand that they have to get out of Lothering soon. The Bann just left them with no protection at all. Typical nobles, baah. Running around we heard of the Qunari. And then we saw him. Big guy. All locked in a cage to be darkspawn food. There is no denying it, he committed a heinous crime. But who here is without sin? Alistair maybe? We decided to try to have him released into my custody (yes my, Alistair doesn't want to lead). Leliana was instrumental in convincing the revered mother to agree to our plan. Well Sten of the Beresaad proved useful immediately but that is a story for another day.

I don't like the collection quests but it's not like I had to do most of it. I choose to. Plus, I'm a total dwarf lore nerd. I was delighted that the DLC was so well done. The expansion of the story of the dwarves is very interesting. Considering the reveals of Trespasser, it's telling that a counterbalance to the sky is waking up. It was weird having Solid Snake (Raan) and Liara around though.

Descent was okay. I've only completed it twice. The first time my KE and her team fought the rock guardian, everyone else were KO'ed, ran out of health and regeneration potions and my KE had a sliver of life. This was before Knight Enchanter got nerfed with Trespasser's release. I didn't have resurgence or life ward equipped as well. So, it was luck and determination to defeat the rock guardian. The second time I battled the deep roads with my DW Assassin, let's just say everything got destroyed in record time and the rock guardian got whipped so bad! I enjoyed Trespasser, because of the emotional ties, revelations and it completes the main story. The thing I didn't like was after my Inquisitor's encounter with Solas, it just fades to black and suddenly, Inky's heading to the Exalted Council to decide the Inquisition's fate. I would've liked a cutscene to fill that gap where the inner circle, advisors and whoever's the love life reacted to all that happened and the Inquisitor's missing arm. Also, how the Inquisitor handled the situation. Anyway, moving onto my current run with Alexandra, she's still running around the Western Approach and will be attending the winter ball early (maybe.. we'll see how Alex feels). Hawke will probably have to wait a bit longer while hiding out on Skyhold's battlements. Memo to Varric: Leliana and Josie already know about Hawke. Say your prayers, because Cassandra's going to kick your ass!

Would have been more weird if you could have had scout Harding with you. I didn't do much in the Dragon Age yesterday. Our dog got injured, or sick, or something. He was constantly shaking his head, and walking with his head cocked right over. And for the first time in his (short) life, he didn't want to play. We took him to the vet, but $300 later he couldn't find anything wrong with him. But he was back to bringing me toys the first thing this morning, so hopefully it was nothing.

So, changed my guy's tattoo. The other one wasn't appropriate to his back story. Anyway, so there I am, and getting all the flirt options I didn't get as a female character. Cassandra makes me laugh. "You're delightful." "No, I'm not." "Yes you are" "no." "Uh huh" *tone of non belief* Hilarious.

I'll try to find it later, but there is a flycam screenshot that shows the arm becoming ethereal as Solas either touches their hand or kisses them. He did use magic which made the arm dissolve into nothing. It isn't as brutal as someone cutting their arm off or having Solas cut it off. I don't think it's said in-game but I'll know in the next couple of days.

I think the exposition? dialogue of the female dwarf was terrible. I didn't get to know Raan long enough to care that he died, making his death pointless/cliche? narrativly Then I expected the female dwarf to die too. That scene where she's thrown by the rock wraith? Thought I'd nailed it. I was like, yep, she died. knew it. Then she didn't. Nope. She was alive with a big o' LArius/Coryphious speech of creepy weird. I was like GA DAMNIT. I released another ancient (potential) evil, my character and I both SEE IT, and BOTH times my character is forced to walk away. LET ME STAB THE CREEPY

See, I disagree with that to an extent. The Shaper was a bit annoying, I'll grant you that. But I found Raan's death compelling. Mainly because it was well done and I have a real soft spot for the Legion of the Dead. I exhausted his dialogue options but I felt like I knew him better than my character knew a lot of NPCs that I was supposed to care about. I do understand where you are coming from. It worked for me, but I can see "but da feelz" all over it. I also don't think that we just saw another evil get unleashed. The whole thing seemed...too neutral and too benign for that. With Cory there was a real sinister vibe at the end. You see the Warden smirk. In the case of the Shaper, I found her speech no more odd or threatening than Cole. She also seemed to be completely at peace. There hasn't been a potential evil that was truly at peace. They were conflicted in some way (Loghain, Meredith, Orisno, Solas) or outright corrupted/blighted (Cory, the Archdemon.) BioWare tends to go for major foreshadowing. I don't see evil this time around. As an aside, I'm with you about the end of Legacy. I wanted to stab the Warden just to make sure. If nothing else, it was either someone nearly a ghoul or a mage that acted power hungry the whole time. When Cory was revealed to be the major villain of this game, I won a bet. A couple of my friends thought it was too obvious. There is evidence all over the elven lore that the Elvhen (Mythal and CO) slaughtered a Titan a very very long time ago. Some give Mythal credit, some give Fen'Haeral credit, some say it was a team effort. That's apparently how lyrium was initially discovered by those on the surface. It's also been speculated that was how the Elvhen went from powerful to being god-like. Lyrium doesn't grant mages abilities but it does enhance them a lot. I don't think that the Titan and/or the Shaper is the slightest bit evil. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see them ally with the PC in the next game. According to TME, even being in the Crossroads is dangerous for a non-elf for any length of time. During that chapter, the elven characters are feeling stronger and more energized. The two humans (one of which was Celene) felt weakened and tired. Morrigan said that even she could not linger there for too long. Now imagine that energy spread throughout the world. It could be as poisonous to dwarves as it is to humans. The Fade and the Veil are constantly associated with the sky. It makes sense that an avatar of the earth is waking up to prepare for a fight. It's also time to drag the traditional dwarves fully into the plot whether they are ready to or not. And hey, think about it this way. After Descent, we have a very good chance of seeing Sandal as a major NPC again. You can even find a Bodhan and Sons mug while you're there. It's got a rune on one side. We'd better see Sandal again damnit. DA2: "We're going to Orlais. The empress is impressed." DAI: No mention in the main game. An easter egg during CotJ and Trespasser. Me:

Me: What easter egg during CotJ??? I know about the mug, and Dagna's remark, and the Trespasser codex, but I think I missed that other one.

So, the one Elven Quiz I rolled a long while back was a blur and I hated her and I deleted her. So, me getting to be elfy has been pretty fresh. That, and I'm going slower. Talking to Maneaeve, man... The bitterness about being abandoned by her clan rolled off her in waves, never mind her denial that she's happier the way it turned out. And maybe it's because I read TME after my last quiz or... But does that random female elf actually come from the Clan that Imshael killed in the book? And why does asking for the amulet involve accusing her of "turning on" our kind? Walked to Redcliffe as I'd never tried to go pre Fiona meeting. And they laughed in my face and told me to go away. Nice touch. Natashina I am all for more dwarven lore! I actually scraped/collected 50%+ of the lore found on the first post of Tapster's Tavern Thread from BSN Prime in the weeks after it was announced to be closed. I got help, obviously, but then I spent hours and hours organizing it as well. I think I sunk about 36 hours into it, and I may still even be credited on the post. Am I secretly a dwarven soul? nah. But I like Dwarves pretty solidly. ^^ If they got more screen time, their lore may even be more interesting than the elvhen. And I am 2 million % interested in Sandal and Bodahn returning. How come they don't have a song.

Me: What easter egg during CotJ??? I know about the mug, and Dagna's remark, and the Trespasser codex, but I think I missed that other one. This happens after Envy tries to take over your mind. If you fully explore the entire prison area during that segment, you'll see a dwarf in a cell. You'll also hear the sound of faint whimpering (it comes up in subtitles as well.) Since I'm on PS4 this time, I had to angle the camera to get a close up. There is no doubt that it's Sandal. He's well detailed for a background NPC and he looks very distinct from any other dwarf in the game. Why he's there and why the sobbing is in his voice is beyond me. I don't want to think too hard about that. I love Sandal too much to think about the implications behind that. I'm going to chalk it up to another wonderfully weird easter egg by the devs and call it a night. phoray That's unlikely. Only that bitch Mihris survived. Imshael had a lot of fun that day. A lot of Dalish clans are jerks to their own, sadly. They should have a song. In fact, why isn't there one about the (possibly) former Quarni spy with the overactive sex drive? One about the false Grey Warden? No, it's Sera that has her own song. And she hates it. She keeps thinking that Marbella is hitting on her and Sera's not interested. I'm glad that Harding got some love though.

Ah ha! Here you go. You only need to see the first 15 seconds: I am reassured when Cole says, "It's dark, but it isn't real."

I beat Ser Cauthrien for the first time! On hard difficulty! Given how terrible I was the first time I played Origins this was very satisfying.
Also forgot I had to harden Alistair if I want to have him and Anora rule and recruit Loghain. His personal quest never came up (this Warden is kind of a dick to him) so I'm hoping I still have time to take him back to camp and stuff him with cakes. It's not a huge deal otherwise, but it was the one outcome I never had before.

I think you have time to bribe Alistair if you haven't started the Landsmeet yet. If you have, then you're outta luck.

Zevia's letter to no one:
Began the assault on Adamant this evening and was forced to kill a group of Wardens who refused to surrender. Fools. Was otherwise going splendidly until the dragon showed up. Now stuck in the Fade with Seeker, Pavus, Tethras, Hawke, and Alistair. Will probably die here, never having ridden The Iron Bull. Should have brought him along. Dammit.
