We have to go to Denerim to fight the horde and the archdemon I learn why Grey Wardens are needed to defeat the archdemon Morrigan tells me a Grey Warden doesn't have to die. She wants to bed Alistair. Hmmm.....Ok. I talk to Alistair about that. I thought he would be happy to bed Morrigan after having a good time at the Pearl with that nice lady, but he is hesitant about doing it. I have to use the power of the voice to convince him to bed Morrigan. We march to Denerim Alistair gives a speech So it begins With my companions, and my two best friends, bow and arrow, we head to Fort Drakon Ogren taking it to the darkspawn Riordan takes a ride on the Archdemon Hello Archdemon I get a boon and I talk with my brother The big day. My brother is with me. I wish my father and mother were here to see this event

Might be hitting the wall a bit with DAO, just keep finding myself procrastinating. I am also frustrated that of all the MODS I have installed the one I most want is not working and it is an armour mod so every time I see my character I want my lovely black armour. I scoured NMM yesterday to see if I could find the original MOD but it is not anywhere under any name I can find and I went through all the MOD I had downloaded and it wasn't even among the ones that showed as deleted. Anyway!!!! Finished The Circle of Magi, I am playing on normal, I normally play lower and think I actually had the easiest time fighting Uldred that I have ever had. Recruited Zevran. Then stuffed around with MODS and in camp and then headed to Redcliffe. Got to the point of The Night of The Walking Dead and had to stop. Pic's Hello Cullen, be seeing you later. Wizards Gone Bad - is bald must be bad Has Beard must be good

Hey olnorton I installed the forge at the camp in DAO, is there a way to create a new item copying the stats from an existing one? I thought I did it in an earlier PT but I cannot figure it out. My memory is like a sieve, I barely remember how to play the game I'm currently playing. But you can definitely do what you want. Place the item with the stats that you want in the anvil. Choose 5 "Extra Tools, Properties and item deconstruction" Then 2 "Save this items properties for later use." Create new item. 1 "extras properties utilities" 2 "Imbue with magical properties from item on the anvil." It will destroy the original item by default, unless you change the setting somewhere to allow duplication.

So here we are. Time to start my 8th playthrough of this game, last and most 'canon' run before Inquisition...more on that tommorow. I essentially just created Kara and got through the first cut scene so I could drop a save. And well yeah this is a page 1 reset from scratch because as I discovered somehow I didn't have a save with Kara from the beginning of the game. So this leads to...yeah having to build her from scratch. Again. And as much as I love this game the Character creator is like one of the two things I just detest about it. No codes. No values. Those stupid grid things. And I think I see what everyone says about its bad lighting now. Just meh. And of course my paranoid butt was probably driving the wife nuts with 'does she look like her'...because for some reason this is important to me even though I will have to design her from scratch again for Veilguard...kill me now. . So I do suppose that I really hope we get codes in the form of the trilogy codes or the Andromeda codes because...this is nuts. Also my paranoia that she gets more 'feminine' with each revision to her. But otherwise I am more or less happy I think with things and of course the next problem is I am also going to have to resist the urge to just take pictures of the new Kara and then take video (which I didn't do any of tonight) which means my last Kara is going to be the ones in the vids. Like I said, she's close, but the difference between close and exact with this stupid CC is like the difference between a Hurricane and a sunny day. Oh and also this did interfere with my enjoyment for the cutscene, that and how tired I was. Still I feel so good being back in Thedas again and seeing both Kara and Cassandra again. Seeing the breach. All the things. I am sure I will get back in the groove.

So I decided to another playthrough of DAO except it will be similar to the playthrough in my signature. I will call it 'You will die' playthrough. In previous playthroughs I've killed Wynne to have the templars on my side. I have killed Leliana getting the ashes and so on, but I've never done all of them in one playthrough. There are few questions I have.
If I choose to keep Wynne alive when I meet her in the tower, will I still be able to eliminate the mages to side with the templars? The reason for this is because I want to kill her and Leliana together when getting the ashes.
Which death is worse? Eamons wife or kid?
Which background would be best for this playthrough? I was thinking mage. Why? Being stuck in the tower for however long and being ridiculed by the other mages for his/her looks. Having templars consistently watching her/his every move without having the freedom to do what they want to do.
Is there a scenario where Sten can be killed in the game? If not, I will leave him in the cage. Not sure if he can be killed while in the cage.
What I want is Loghain be the only one at the Warden's side when heading to Denerim at the end.

After Uldred fight during discussion when Cullen yells, agree and choose option (appx as do not remember exact words) that mages could be still corrupted and Irving will agree with that, surrender to Templar check and you will get Templars on your side instead (though some other quests will not be available without Irving). You will not see Irving anymore in the tower, Greagoir will be standing there all the time and exactly he will ask Wynne to stay as she is the only high-ranking and experienced mage left since Irving is under check like the rest mages, but she still will ask him to join your character (and your choice here invite her or refuse). In general: just the end closing the plot quest dialogue with Greagoir influences.

Which death is worse? Eamons wife or kid? Imho Conduct blood ritual with Isolde as a fuel (it is my own canon PT). For your PT would be beterr (ofc imho) as Connor will be sent to the circle anyway, Isolde is a bitch who should be punished for her actions and if not for her actions, other people in Redcliffe and castle would have been alive. Isolde have zero f**ks about the rest. At least she has courage to sacrafice herself for blood mage ritual. Get rid of Isolde during blood mage ritual using her as a fuel, and Jowan the blood mage will be sent to death (can kill him yourself after the ritual in the cell or ask Eamon who will sent him to death anyway). Connor is sent to the tower for study. Which background would be best for this playthrough? I was thinking mage. Why? Being stuck in the tower for however long and being ridiculed by the other mages for his/her looks. Having templars consistently watching her/his every move without having the freedom to do what they want to do. For such my own PTs I, again imho, prefer City Elf origin due to their living conditions as they are no one and abused there. Thus becoming a GW can do whatever your City Elf wants. Mage Origin is a good option as well - description you gave suits to such PT. Is there a scenario where Sten can be killed in the game? If not, I will leave him in the cage. Not sure if he can be killed while in the cage. I could not find though tried many variants. Suggest you already know the below options, still: If he challanges you in Haven (what I myself do getting him there with low approval to get that challange), and you win (in Haven) he just leaves, no options to finish him; just codex with description Sten went to find the enemy on his own. Camp: he just leaves (even Oghren/Zevran fights you if tell them "leave"). Leaving Sten in cage seems like the only option to make him dead by alien hands.

I believe I downloaded all my starting save files for each of my DAI characters. Wasn't sure which one was Tanith and I didn't want to go back later and try a different one. Also downloaded all the mods from my list, and hopefully the DAI mod manager which seems to be hard to come by these days. Now I just have to check if the saves will work in-game and get all the mods installed.

Today was all about Emprise du Lion: went to the warden outpost and collected the last warden relics for Blackwall, defeated Imshael, claimed the Suledin Keep and recruited Michel de Chevin into the Inquisition, defeated the Red Templars in the area, saved the people of Sahrnia from the quarry and hunted the three High Dragons. Afterwards i went after to the Cradle of Sulevin and found the sword fragments, Dagna used it as an inspiration to build us a new sword for Iron Bull. Exploring: High dragons: Cradle of Sulevin:

Say hello to Demona. A mage. Her backstory is sad and a cruel one. When she was a toddler, her skin color was changing. Her parents couldn't understand what was happening. They saw healers who had no answers even after researching books and tomes. Demona was scared. She was even ridiculed by others. It would make her mad. When this happened, her skills would flair up. Eventually she was taken to the circle of magi. She learned very quickly it was a prison. The other mages, and even the instructors, would make fun of her. One day, two senior mages took her to an isolated location within the castle away from everyone. It was from these two Demonas power's flourished. They showed her things that were prohibited by others. At the same time, she was gaining knowledge from all the books she was reading.. Not too long ago, old age caught up with the two mages. She felt alone. She didn't like the other mages. She didn't like the templars. And she especially didn't like Irving. She learned it was her turn for the Harrowing. Little did she know what the future held for her. This will be a kill all playthrough. I will even be as rude as possible when talking with the companions. I'm playing on nightmare difficulty. For anyone curious. The outfit seen above is Flemeths armor. I will likely wear that for most of the playthrough. I will side with the werewolves, Branca, and templars. I will not help Redcliffe village. Not sure if I will do any of the dlc.

Yay, save files work and so do mods. Now just have to get used to the controls again. I keep hitting the TAB key to go back in the menus but of course that doesn't work. I changed the graphics setting to ultra - need to restart to see how everything looks. From the ones that didn't require restarting, the colors seem a lot brighter.
Just met up with Varric and Solas. And already picked some elfroot.

Completed Redcliffe. Connor was saved by the Circle Mages and Morrigan, Jowan was recommended for execution for poisoning Arl Eamon. Darcy kissed all the girls and gave them all 500 silver meeting with much disapproval from Morrigan and Leliana. Returned to camp and mucked around with the forge, thanks olnorton was able to duplicate the stats I wanted now just trying to find the right coloured light/medium armour. Probably won't get any play in today, have social activities to attend to. Pic's - mmm FRAPS had one of those days where it chose not to take some of the screenshots I took. The reaction by Bevin to Kaitlyn kissing the Grey Warden is priceless. Everyone survived the final battle except two militia.

And I find low level archer so boring.

Not sure I got this line before, probably because I picked a different response to his 'I've crossed paths with Dalish' comment Everyone's favorite Chantry stooge
Heading up the mountain This might be scarier than the Breach Bioware is really bad about spoiling their own games. I know the Black Emporium was added well after release but you don't put stuff like this in a codex entry available at the beginning of the game before said character is revealed.
I synced up with the Golden Nug to get all my schematics and recipes, found the notes for Adan, requisition stuff for the Loghain supporter (not sure what world state is imported but Anora is queen), and crafted a couple of upgrades for my Dragon Staff. Don't really have much in the way of resources to craft anything else. The Dragon Armor will last for a good while until something better comes along. Left off reaching the Hinterlands' first camp. Hello, Scout Harding.

Logged in to do some stuff with the Forge in camp but the game had gone bizarre and have no reason why, peoples armour had changed and some MODS were not working and reloading earlier saves made no difference.
Reload about 10 maybe more and after disabling EA Background Services everything worked so go figure????? Why would that be affecting in game stuff?
Very damn weird.

Kind of crazy how the sands of time work. On the one hand me starting this play through of Inquisition and those usually take two months, so I should be fine. But also that its only 67 days till Haloween and it usually takes me an hour a day and about 90 ish to finish so...yeah it could be close. especially since I am hoping to do a few other things game wise before Veilguard drops, really pulling for the CC to drop early. On this note to its weird just like yesterday I swore it said I had 745 hours in the game...after tonight it was 896. More apprepro that would seem to be a lot more then 8 playthroughs But on the flip side of the occasion now approaching nine hundred playthroughs. Perhaps in line with the above to have to decide just how much of the codex I want to read this time through. Anyways how my canon playthroughs and what not work, though probably talked about this before, but how they usually work is this is more canon characters then they are playthroughs. Its impossible to get every single dialogue option right all the time and already know I have picked different ones so early. Also always a chance and opprotunity to refine things and have new stuff happen which is especially relevant since this is the last main time I am going to do this before Veilguard. So three big decisions to keep an eye on: The choice of who rules Orlais. The choice of who drinks from the well. And the choice of what to do with the Inquisition. Now the first two are probably choices that won't change but kind of worried about the well choice going into Veilguard...and really annoyed that the choice of ruler gets a lot of Inquisition agents killed. Of course though I also really am not sure what the better alternative is and how to go about things. Its also cold blooded. But the choice wih the Inquisition. Kara's choice right now is the 'angry keep' choice but recently I had the opprotunity to listen to the angry disband choice and...well both speeches are fire but really the angry get rid of...speaks to me. And Kara is the closest thing I have done to a self insert and think she would be in a place of thinking the Inquisition was a distraction given everything that happened during Tresspasser. So she'd probably be in that head space. Otherwise first time of doing a new playthrough of this game in a while so going to have to keep track of my crafting and what not mainly. The crafting system is amazing in this game but is growing more tedious on repeat playthroughs. And then the controls. I keep on pressing the search button expecting Kara to start sprinting. It does not work. And well the combat. Like the last time I played through it I was really bored with it going through the Winter Palace. Was afraid that the spate of ARPGs I have been on and what not had put me off of it and long term that might end up being the case....but right now have been enjoying myself. At least somewhat briefly. Things were pretty easy to begin with by and large as I was working through Wrath of Heaven and the beginning of the Hinterlands, and holding down R2 for the auto attack actually gave me the opprotunity to mindlessly chat with the wife about something while engaging. Two notes though which seem especiallyy relevant since we have the first of what I assume is a long term series on high level combat for Veilguard. Number 1, another minor complaint is I have never liked the tactical cam too much given how unintuitive and restrictive it is. But it did occur to me today during the boss battle with the Pride Demon at first that Cassandra switched to attack a Shade I was going after. I wanted all my companions to go after the pride demon while I would mop up the reserve forces so I went into the tac cam. It worked. But it occurs to me to given all the tac cams problems that its not as intuitive as the wheel in ME or now Veilguard. Or being able to do it in real time as I double checked that I couldn't do in the game. Don't get me wrong the companions are generally more useful in DA then ME and the AI for the companions in Inquisition is actually pretty good at handling itself but this does actually limit my options, I just never noticed it because there was no reason to...really. Second bit just can't wait for more effortless switching between melee and ranged. Once again ran into a problem early on when enemies were right in my face and I could do nothing since my powers were on recharge so just had to stand there with arrows, impotently. Cannot wait overall for the tactical flexibility. So got through the early bit of the Hinterlands and things were going fine to that point and was hoping to avoid the early game power spike especially with the trials on. But got to the Crossroads and started getting my butt kicked. Bit of a grind at first, bit of a grind after I get to Skyhold and few other fights...but I usually find a way through it and just grind out the levels until I make it.

I realized I forgot to install my giant inventory mod, so that will be first task today. Why it wasn't on my list I don't know. It's probably the first one I ever used.
