Speaking of time in game and what not the PS has let me know I have at least 900 hours in the PS4 version of the game... so that does not count the one playthrough at least I got in with the PS3 version. I mean not as much as @dazks numbers but I do what I can. Think this is by far the most I have spent on a single game, probably only the MET combined probably comes close. Good on modern game systems for letting you know how much time you...spend...on this hobby in your life. Other thing I did today is me and the wife came up with a DA diddy using 'home home on the range' while I was hunting nugs. "And Seldom is heard an Inquisitive word" "And Leiliana's not spying all day." Big things I got done in the game for this session getting around to do more recruiting missions for the companions. Got Sera, Vivi, and Blackwall. And thus me headcannoning Kara calling Vivienne Vivi to piss her off. "Its Madame De Fer"...on second thought she literally got that from Sera. Speaking of during her mission to get her Sera mentions that 'if you want to keep your breeches you should behave' or something like that. Which then conjured the, uh, image of it would've been really funny if Sera actually did steal the Inquisitor's pants on the way out of the Inquisition. Which I think curse my active imagination for but at least it was funny. Blackwall is also such a poser but the line "save the fucking world if pressed" always hits like a ton of bricks. Had my first death too. Think I was killed by that very Druffalo before to. Hunted him. Figured I would have the upperhand enough, just did the whole 'torro' thing as it charged. But it learned eventually. By and large though right now the party of Vivienne, Blackwall, Sera, and Kara really isn't that good for survivability but I got a lot of stuff done and it worked. Of course I also stayed away from the Witchwhood and everywhere in the central area. So...yeah. Right now in a bit of a tough position on the grinding bit. As I mentioned I do want to get the party members pretty early and also have the full assembled party before I hit the Witchwood/ Templar encampment then maybe the Merc fortress so that kind of limits my options in a bit. But the way I do these things if I get a level or a full inventory I go back home, talk to people, then head out to a new area. Want to do this because I went to go pick up Blackwall in the Hinterlands so Bull is next...but I just don't know if I can make it. which also complicates things want to get to IYHSB before I hit level 10 for a few fiferent reasons and I usually swing back and get the Inquisition soldiers from the Avaar before closing the Breach. So the beginning of the game and just after Skyhold can be a bit of a grind sometimes. So yeah, this game is still awesome just don't know what it is. (Well I do ) Second thing from the grinding front gotta figure out crafting. Probably before I hit Champions of the Just really wanna give Kara a new bow and Cassandra a new weapon. With her being a front line warrior its vital I upgrade her kit. I think that's key to dealing with all the guard spewing Templars. Things I gotta figure out is in what circumstances do I give them the same weapon and just keep on recrafting it as better mats/ FTM become available. Like for Kara probably going to give her at least two versions of the Inquisitor coat but the Lyrium Bow and the Dragon bow. Just gonna give Cass the Sulevein blade for instance because its the best looking sword/ one of the best swords in the game. But thinking of giving her like the battlemaster coat before giving her the really epic quote.

I'm not sure if I want to get Iron Bull before getting the mages or not. Maybe I'll wait because then I can head-canon going to Storm Coast while the mages and everyone are getting settled and prepping to close the breach. I didn't talk to Blackwall about the Warden stuff yet so of course while wandering we went right by a place where some of them are at but they weren't active.
Next up is the merc fortress. I am playing on casual so even though the controls are kicking my ass, I've only died once, mostly because I keep losing my cursor. I made it bigger in the settings but it still goes missing. I am used to being able to look all around with just the mouse but in this game I have to hold the right mouse button to look without moving in that direction. And often I forget. Will be interesting to see what kind of twisted kb/m controls Veilguard has, and just what is going to be the 'everything' key this time.

I couldn't find this thread a couple of days ago I forgot what section it had been in.
But I started a new playthrough of Dragon Age: Origins. I chose the human noble origin and playing as Aedan Cousland. Did the origin with Howe betraying Teyrn Cousland. Was introduced to Duncan for the first time. Both parents died and Fergus had already left. So I escaped with DUncan. We arrived at Ostagar where the King's army was camped along with every major player in Fereldan. Met everyone including two other Grey Warden recruits Daveth and Ser Jory. Also met a junior Warden named Alistair. We went back to Duncan and he told us of a Joining Ritual all potential Grey Wardens had to take and that it was secretive. He sent us to the Kocari Wilds to locate 3 vials of Darkspawn blood and some ancient treaties. In the Kocari Wilds we met a mysterious woman named Morrigan. SHe told us that the treaties we were tasked to find were no longer there and that her mother had taken them. SHe invited us to see her mother an equally mysterious older woman named Flemeth. SHe gave us the treaties and warned us about how dangerous this new blight was.
Went back to the ruins of Ostagar and brought Duncan what he requested. We went to the Joining Ritual were we found out that we had to drink from a concoction that included darkspawn blood. Daveth was the first to try and sadly died. Jory was hesistant and said no to the ritual. He drew his sword and Duncan killed him. Now it was my turn I drank for the cup had a vision of the arch demon and passed out. Woke up some minutes later and both Duncan and Alistair welcomed me to the Wardens. At the battle of Ostagar Alistair and I were tasked with lighting the beacon which would let Teyrn Loghian when to attack with his army. After killing a bunch of darkspawn at the Tower of Ishal we lit the beacon. Loghain ordered his army to retreat betraying both the King and the Wardens. Both Cailan and Duncan died in the battle. Alistair and I were overunned by darkspawn. I woke up in FLemeth's hut were Morrigan was and she told me what had happened at Ostagar after both Alistair and I were knocked out.
Went outside and spoke to both Flemeth and Alistair. Alistair was still grieving Duncan's loss. We spoke to FLemeth she reassured us that hope was not lost and that Warden's could demand the assistance of all races as long as we had the treaties. She told Morrigan to leave with us so she could help. Morrigan suggested going to the nearby town of Lothering. At lothering there were a ton of refugees and bandits at the bridge who were demanding a "toll". After we threatened them and demanded they leave they left. We offered assistance were we can and found out that Loghain had made himself regent and put a bounty on all Grey Wardens. At the inn we met a lay sister named Leliana who came to ease the tension between us and some Loghian's men. We killed Loghain's men and Leliana after introducing herself offered to join. We recruited her and left the tavern. We then came across a strange humanoid being locked in a cage. He said his name was Sten and that he was a Qunari. He told us why he had been locked up and the Warden offered him a chance to join them if they were able to get him freed. We asked the mother superior if she would free Sten into our custody and after swearing oath were we given permission. We freed Sten and he agreed to join us. WHen leaving Lothering there were some darkspawn harassing two dwarves. We killed them and the two dwarves thanked us.

More Edric in the Hinterlands Fix-this-mess adventure. First, he cleared the King's road for the poor refugees (and gave then food, blankets). Rebel Templars and Mages camp were cleared. Almost died because the mage boss is kinda supped up compared to most stuff on the map (that fire field hurts and I stood right in it!). Solas also pointed out to some elven artifacts to strengthen the Veil...but the First near the first one say it was basically to study the Veil and find where tears might appear. Who is right? Edric don't actually care, way out of his field of knowledge. That Dalish was also rude. The group also made a detour by Redcliff but the gate remained closed, the sentry didn't even believe they were the Inquisition (and Cassandra didn't even bother speaking up, I guess she doesn't like shopping). After that, it was time to go see if the old horsemaster was still alive. Punched some nasty wolves on the way...and then called it enough for today. I crafted some new armor and weapon for Cassandra. Finished upgrtading Bianca and wanted to craft some armor for Varric, but I didn't have enough leather left. I'll do that tomorrow, I got more now. I also unlocked all the the maps I had available (Storm Coast, Fallow Mire and Forbidden Oasis)...I migth do those before going to Val-Royaux. I actually don't know what specialization I'm going to take, so it's not really important to rush to Skyhold. The only thing I miss is adding fade-touched item to my gear...

Let's continue with the You will die playthrough. kill the dog - done kill the soldier - done Becoming a Grey Warden Orge has a new stuffed toy to play with kill sten - failed, but I did leave him in the cage I will say some of the dialogue is hilarious when talking to characters when being rude. I have to be careful not to go overboard with Leliana causing her to leave denying me killing her. The same with Wynne.

Merc fortress/villa cleared. Afterwards ran into everybody's favorite Hafter's Woods regular - bears! And not just the normal kind, oh no....these were the souped up ones for Bergrit's Claws quest, which I had actually forgotten about. So, after about 10 minutes of battling it out, Tanith and crew finally killed all 3 (yes, they all attacked at once because....they're bears!)
After that I was feeling all puffed up with pride about not dying so decided to tackle the level 12 rifts in the area (at level 6). Which wasn't the best plan ever - died about 5 times before I was finally able to get Solas to dispel a couple of spawn blobs in the second wave, and then I could take out the rest. That was the one in the cave. The other one with all the shades wasn't as bad because by then Tanith had leveled to 7 and I spec'd in dispel for her too. Then I went back to the farm area to do the rift over the river - that one took 2 attempts because I was trying to get high enough to disrupt the rift and didn't dispel blobs in time. I think that was the last rift in the Hinterlands.
Next up is Valammar since I found the key at the villa. The last 2 mosaic pieces are there. After that will maybe do In Hushed Whispers.

Think this playthrough has hit turning the first corner of the early grind, though I was really scatterbrained and was forgetting some fairly basic information which took me awhile and led to some unfortunate circumstances. It is a bit of a surprise and after so many playthroughs and hours in it I might actually be growing to use the tac cam a bit more then normal for me because, again it occured to me, that I can't order my companions to attack individual targets in this game using the D-pad. Sure the AI is generally pretty competent in this game that they can be fire and forget but it does lead to some scenarios and well if its the only way to give orders might as well do it. Still I doubt I will use it as much as they were advertising it could be used way back because its just not practical or very good still...but something to keep in mind. Today's example was once more getting my butt kicked by Templars and they were actually using smart tactics. Don't know how exactly but they were able to isolate Kara and Blackwall from Sera and Vivienne. Or at least Vivi and the rest of us with their shields and what not. This forced me to go to the tac cam to assess the situation and try and get things under control. Couldn't find Sera so I had her and Vivi go after the group that was near Vivi while me and Blackwall focussed on the three near us. I do hope that the tac cam when you have them use basic attacks they don't KEEP using basic attacks and still use their assigned tactics. That would be annoying if that ends up being the case and would put us right back to square one. On the bright side though this is one of the first encounters with elite Templars that I was able to hold on and win, still took me six health pots to do so, but I held up well enough to win and wipe them. Bad side though I decided to push towards the rift I was going towards and it did not go well at all. Despite being the same level and despite me being able to hold such fights before without using pots...for some reason it did not behave like it normally did. Demons kept on going after Kara despite me stealthing her to try and disrupt the rift which of course interrupted the disruption and then slowly one party member after another went down, Kara went down third, which just left Sera and she is not specced into Stealth...naturally round two against the rift after going back to the Crossroads to heal and resupply things went perfect and no health pots used, no fuss. THink this is what inspired a few things for me when I decided to back to Haven and short version Kara, Cass, and Sera have new weapons. Was even tempted to give Cassandra a new quote but decided to hold off it for better crafting mats. But I am glad I held off A for the new matts but B she has that really nice coat thing now as a piece of found loot I found in the world so when I do get what I want I am going to craft the elite tier 3 version of that. Which I really do appreciate what BioWare did with the Golden Nug giving us access to a lot of tier 3 and 4 schematics. Even with inferior mats me and Sera now have level 20 ish bows and forget what Cassandra is at. I don't know if I have pushed crafting this hard this early before either, probably have, we will have to see. But its still a nice QoL improvement and really I think this would make a great NG+ mode for future RPGs. Levelling your character can be really fun but having your matts able to go across save files is *chefs kiss*. For future reference though and per usual for upgrades it will just have to depend on the available mats, the available FTMs that match what I want to do with each character, and which character might be lagging behind in gear level with an eye towards upgrading my preffered 'A team' first. Also though went to Aden's apothocary finally to finally give my people their extra potions and decided to give Kara the mighty offensive one first instead of Antivan Fire. But I was shocked to discover that I had already picked up 141 Elfroot so far...which gave me enough actually to put two upgrades, I think, into the regeneration potion. And with all this crafting done I had my first 1000 + damage shots. One of them even was a non crit ability attack. Highest damage I saw was 1653...against a Ram but I every since my earliest playthroughs I always take doing 1000+ damage as a *good* thing. Oh and I almost forgot to something amazing happened which I don't think I have ever seen. So the Giant and Dragon were doing battle on the beach of the Storm Coast and I know, I think, that the Giant can be killed by the Dragon and what not. But I was looking at them and wondering if it was even worth it trying to cheat the system or if I should push in and fight the Giant on my own or if I should just get close enough to drive him off and retreat...but as I was deciding the Dragon killed the giant and I got the experience! But then damndest thing Vinsomer turned and fired on me. Didn't hit but yipes. Then it flew off. The scatter braindery came from me wasting time dealing with the Blades of Hessarian. Basically I forgot how to go about creating the Crest of Mercy. I forgot it was a requisition and not a crafting one. So I bounced back and forth between Haven like three times before I figured it out. Then what was even worse is I forgot to put it on on the approach to the Blades camp so I had to wipe out the door guards. Fortunatley I just put it on and that still counted enough so the Blades are on the Inquisition's side. RP wise I really do like playing Kara as being so uncertain about everything. She's like "I don't want to be a leader" and she isn't at this point. When she gets to becoming Inquisitor then she will make decisions, she even told Bull so.

More Edric in the Hinterlands (he really need to think to move on). He secured horses for the Inquisition and proved he was the best horseman of all the Carta families. Kicked some wolves down, they were under the influence of a demon. Built some watch towers so the King's road is even more safe, at leat on like 2 km. Found some weird hidden cave after doing some weird constellation puzzles. Fought some bandits, but he still need to fins their hideouts. Also, pretty group shot!

Yep seems that I have officially hit the turn around point for this PT part 1...
Went back through the Hinterlands to continue clearing out things throughout the Crossroads region with the Templars and the Witchwood apostates and it went...pretty well. Hardly an issue at all and the big fight against the APostates only resulted in like 1 HP used up. Still had some trouble with the Templars in that room off the side of the West Road where I Bull got knocked down a couple of times and that got me down to two health potions. Also Solas's Revive spell continues to work out nicely. Hmm. The Templar Encampent Similarly resulted in little drama. Then went up to sweep through the east road. and the mercenary encampment.
With that off to visit the Rebel Mages and I was reflecting on recently bit of a nice RPing situation here as I was going through. Like I always try and sort of play my characters where they pretty much take opposite choices from the other but they then have to justify it internally. I didn't want to play someone unsympathetic to the mages but then someone who goes to 'side' with the Templars. Of course disbanding the Templars also justifies it from a meta standpoint however...just more ways that Kara gets there. Gets to Redcliffe and finds A. weird time magic going on. B. the Tevinters have arrived. And C. a room full of Tranquil skulls that are also clearly being used for a magic ritual. Supplementing this decision though was polling some of the mages on their opinion to Tevinter, and finding out it wasn't quite universal, and a lot of discomfort. Of course she isn't going to rush into anything so justifies me going around trapsing around the Storm Coast a bit before going off to get the Tempalars...
Back in Haven more crafting. Cassandra still does not have a new coat and it occurs to me before deciding I should I guess see if I can't double check its upgrade slots...so Varric does have better limbs for Bianca. Not something I maybe should do but on the theme from last time I feel that Varric often gets easily left behind in terms of power levels so this lets him stay at least a bit relevant. 89 damage is nothing compared to Kara or Sera's bows but still good...well better.
So yeah running up to getting the Templars in the next little bit and I feel like its interesting how this is coming together given when I typically try and do main quests in games with a lot of side quests especially. Don't always manage it. But, I think I am reletively pleased with the progress I have made in I think pretty much my first week. Of course already dropped 10 hours into the game so far it does beg the question for me...well normally how I play this would've been a bit longer. So it seems I am taking a bit to make that progress in universe. Granted I think I am taking my time to pick the Elfroot and gather resources to. WE will jsut have to see.

Got some more stuff done since last time: Saved Connor by sending Morrigan into the Fade to take care of the demon (Wynne just had an exhausted episode!). As a Thank you, Nora gave her a black grimoire afterwards. Morrigan happy. Got ambushed by an elf assassin that Nora doesn't trust, but took him along anyway in hope to find out more about Loghain. Got lots of things done in Denerim, including learning that Alistair's half-sister is a b****. More sidequests, and more, and more. Cleared out a Blood Mage hideout. Went to Haven, checked out a bloody hut and suddenly all villagers were slaughtered Took care of a cult, slayed a dragon and passed some tests to get just a teensie bit of the ashes. Nora and Leliana grow closer, and Leliana opened up about her past with Marjolaine. I died quite some times already, despite playing on Easy It's interesting that on PS3, there were fewer enemies apparently, they must have made it easier for us console peasants A couple pics

Cleared out the Valammar outpost of Carta thugs and darkspawn...somethings. Picked up the last 2 mosaic pieces for The Fall. Went back to Haven and crafted some new armor for Tanith, Blackwall, and Varric. Sorry Solas - you get standard rags. Then made the rounds talking to everyone and was planning to head next to Fallow Mire but remembered I need to upgrade what potions I can and craft/upgrade weapons. At least put some mods on Bianca for Varric. It's taken me a while to get the hang of crafting again, at least for other party members since they aren't in the active party at the time. I'll get there! Then I also remembered I don't have the Deft Hands perk yet so do I really want to go to Fallow Mire before I get that? One of the Warden thingies is hidden behind a locked door and I hate having to go back just for that.
Edit for pics
Tanith convinced Leliana to not kill the traitor agent.

Edric is no almost entirely surveyed the Hinterlands (I can't enter Redcliff yet and I haven't touched the dragon since I'm still under level 10). That means the bandit camps was cleared (it was actually a small fortress), and it turns out they were mercs working for some smuggler in some caves called Valammar. Looks like a popular destination. Even Darkspawns came to visit! The place was cleansed thought, luckily the Carta there wasn't par of Edric's clan...that would have been awkward. There was also some weird shit, one summoned a rage demon and another wake up a grandpa from his tomb. After that, the Inquisition went to the Fallow Mire because some doffu there kidnapped some soldiers of the organisation and wants to fight the Herald of Andraste...but he set shop beyond a undead infested bog (which is a classic!). But the party was too wet and I called it a day. I like the sight out of Valammar...

the party was too wet and I called it a day.
It is very wet there. Tanith and crew cleared the bog, rescued the Inquisition soldiers, put down the Avvar whelp, and recruited another Avvar called Sky Watcher. Fast-traveled back to Haven to pick up the Deft Hands perk, then went back to Hargrave Castle to raid the treasure room and find the second Warden doodad for Blackwall. Stopped by Redcliffe on the way back to pick a few locks.
Next will be inventory management and upgrades, then seeing what Magister Alexius has up his snaky sleeves.

Anther thing that sends me back to base usually is the getting the Special Shipments. So after puttering around in the Storm Coast, getting the Warden stuff picked up, and getting some leather I needed for my evil plans. On the really crazy side with all the bears in the area one of them was in the middle of the cave with me, like on the other side, blocking it. I got into a fight with the thing and for some reason my companions didn't respond to my cries for help...so I retreated. And then had to fight through with a Giant Spider that I didn't think I would get around before stealth ran out. Lucky for me my companions decided to un freeze themselves so we steam rolled the spider, dealt with the Bear. Back in Haven finally got enough to get Cassandra her coat, level 19 with sunder and extra health. And the Special Shipment...two moonstone? Which turned into quite a vuluable piece of valuables which should help for the Black Emporium in some way later. So with all that done next hing really for it was to start Champions of the Just. One of my favorite little missions in the entire series. Which is why I was surprised to discover, I think, first time dialogue. Ran into a pair of ladies talking about the Herald of Andraste and they were like 'well I wonder where she is?'...and then got to tell them I was the Herald! So much for sneaking in! Something has occured to me for the last few days. This game is just so chill. Probably as a result of pumping nine hundred hours in it. But its really become a comfort game. Can just play it well with some thinking and paying attention but I do know a lot of the moves and just can relax with the combat. Just hold down R2. Love it. But it does make me wonder how this will work with Veilguard given the combat does seem a bit more involved and well, new game. Don't think I have any right to complain just its going to be a culture shock having a new Dragon Age game to sink my teeth into after 10 years, at least 9 play throughs, and 900+ hours. Which then does ring me to have been thinking about places where I can skim a little off the top especially if I run out of time. First obvious answer would be to skip Hakon, but honestly talking with Ameridan is kind of peak. Maybe skip out some of the Dragons after I get enough mats for my long bow? Of course I also do want to still be level 27 so there is that.

the party was too wet and I called it a day.

Edric and cie survived the drentch of the Fallow Mire and saved the Inquisition soldiers...to then to go the very wet and apply named Storm Coast. First, in the Fallow Mire, there was a crazy apostate, some demons, lots of undeads and the stupid prideful Avvar who just got a lots of his clan killed and his brain caved in by a big hammer because he wanted to brag he killed Edric. Sorry pal, I got the bigger hammer. Yes,yes I know we are all wet, stop complaining! Not omnimous at all (actually not as creepy as the rest of the bog) Edric really likes the sea Not sure what came first, the basalt columns or the dwarven building? Look the ambushers ambushed!

What time is it? It's time for more death. Let the killing begin Redcliffe village - dead Well well. It's Jerk Jowan. I will deal with you later crap for brains Isolde is now dead Made a deal with a demon. I did this because I figured not only kill Isolde, but to have the demon seek out the kid in the future At last the moment has come. The death of Jerk Jowan. I met a so-called assassin trying to kill me. What a joke. The wannabe assassin is now dead

Travelled to the Forbidden Oasis, collected the shards, entered Solasan and opened all the doors. Also helped a miner retrieve her ring from an infested spider cave. Then i went one last time to the Emerald Graves and discovered that Taven, his group of Dalish and the Inquisition agents were attacked and murdered. At Din`An Hanin i found an account of the incident at Red Crossing and gave it to the Dalish clan.

I know I'm supposed to playing Inquisition...but I can't decide on a look for my Inquisitor.
So...instead I decided to dust off my lovely Warden Raelyn Tabris I slightly changed her looks, mostly by making her hair darker...but to be fair I do like it a lot better now ^^
She's still as snarky and helpful as always though, so that hasn't changed Oh, and she makes good on any threats she throws out
Raelyn: [to Vaughan] touch me and I will kill you! Case in point (I specifically switched out her iconic crossbow for this scene so I could have a finishing animation on him...it did not disappoint (though I am a bit sad it wasn't the "cut of his head" one)

I haven't played DAO in 11 years. With DAV coming up I was going looking at the Dragon Age Keep again with my canon Warden. I never played Warden's Keep DLC but it sounded like it might be something that would be beneficial to the HOF and may come up in DAV. Now that its free I decided to play it. I still have all my DA saves burned to a DVD so I pulled out my old HOF.
I remembered that my HOF primarily used the family sword but I had forgotten about the shield of Highever. Both of which my HOF was using. He has so many points dumped into strength to make up for the bad weapon.
Getting this DLC to run was annoying and I got a bug where the demons wouldn't spawn in, but I did finish it. It was a little shorter than I thought it would be, but I did enjoy it.
In the Keep I had originally decided that Avernus could do his research without constraints and I killed Sofia. When I played it I still killed Sofia but told Avernus he had to use other methods.

At default of installing DAO, I made a Elven mage in DAI. Her name is Ariel, I still need to decide her build, lol. I got the 4 power points to go to Val Royaux, but I'm wondering if I should keep helping the refugees before going or not.

The Storm Coast is just as wet as the bog.
Went to claim the mages and fell into Alexius' trap. Survived the bad future, went back to the present, then conscripted the mages. Both Alistair and Anora appeared so I guess they are married; one of the last things my HoF did before her sacrifice. While the mages settle in, headed north to the coast to look for signs of Wardens and check out Iron Bull and the Chargers. Haven't talked to the latter yet. Recruited the Blades of Hessarian, found some Warden camps long abandoned, and picked up some shards. Also watched the dragon take out the giant- Sera liked that. Currently parked in front of the cave, the one with all the spiders. Wait, they all have lots of spiders. OK, the one with the fade rift at the far end of the map.

Champions of the Just. Like this is a thing in this game where its kind of hard to rank but Champions is the first of the really good quests. SOme stumbling with Here Lies the Abyss, but then the rest is pretty good too. And its kind of one of those things to because the quests in this game often come down to...the side content, other then being a bit repititive, also rarely connects that much to anything else in the game. Story takes place here, side quests there. But the thing about that is it does serve to make the main quests a lot more set piece specific. These thigns really build up to these moments and the main story missions in here are events.
And this one is quite an event. Missed opprotunity as I have mentioned at times but it still really does work in a lot of ways. Really like how you can get to know the Inquisitor here and have some heart felt horror moments here and there, but not too scary, again. In this iteration though I decided to play up Kara trying to learn about the Envy demon and ask questions of it and try be assertive. All things that could be important to becoming the Inquisitor later and building up her confidence a little...actually this whole quest is a pretty good example of building up her confidence before the nug crap hits the fan. Though it was a little diminished when Cole called out the very thing that the Inquisitor would use the envy demon to sketch its shapes...which I had forgotten about. Also died once.
So speaking of continuity though one of the best things about this quest is it actually does have a lot of continuity with the rest of the game. Changing and offers differeing perspectives for side quests, a different enemy, and we get more insight into Corypheus. Always a bit of a surprise that they would put all this in the Templar path but it is noteworthy that probably the best thing about this quest isn't the quest itself but what it does for the rest of the game. And the thing is to it also really informs my Inquisitors mind set moving forward, especially relevant for the end decision in Tresspasser. Seeing everything, what the Inquisition could become, the corruption and evil it could result in. Of course this point really does not come home to roost when she chooses to keep the Inquisition, usually. I guess the idea is that she gets reinvigorated by everything in Tresspasser to think that the Inquisition could still have a purpose. Who knows for this time though?
Afterwards debriefed with my companions and other fun bit of story context, I tend to make Kara probably the most flirtatious character I've ever made. But I was a bit worried I had missed the flirting dialogue I wanted to get, because I just don't want to do do any flirts. Well after the quest hit up Blackwall, Bull, and Cassandra. "I can do things your weapon can't" and "Flaterer" Which both of which does sum up her character and the relationship with these potential relationships rather nicely. Now all I gotta do is get Dorian.
