I've played DAI something like 11x now, maybe 12, always recruited Blackwall, romanced him twice, and done Revelations in all but one game. Yet, only today did I discover you can talk to Rainier some more after the initial cutscene in the jail! This is where all the details come from that I always heard about but never knew how to get!

Okie smokie. Haven't been taking tons of screenies since this guy is a small character in my fanfiction anyway, mostly just been having fun with him, and shipping him with Cass. But here are the few so far. So not impressed with Templars punching Chantry Sisters. Meeting Alexius in his finery for the Trip to the Future. Sucks to be broke, that velveteen keeps showing up as brown. When I went to check in with Sera about what she thinks of my allying the mages, I saw this. Did these two just have too much to drink or...? Considering the mark before closing the Breach. How many Quizzies wonder if they're going to explode. Awww, I can tell Cass is already falling. All worried about my elf. I know she'd just deny it and claim it was because he was the Herald, but my elf knows better. The power couple looking out over Haven together. If Cory hadn't blown the moment, I just know they would have held hands eventually. This is just to show my success at the forehead to nose flatness. I just really latched on that idea didn't I? The obligatory "Shocked at Skyhold" Shot. I'm pleased to have caught Solas's smirk. For the Elves! I don't know for what else. He's not power hungry, he's insistent that mages should be treated like normal folk (ZOMG, I think I got 30 disapproval from Viv in one conversation for this), so to shine light on his magey goodness would defeat that point. He's not an idealistic do gooder like my last Quiz, nor is he particularly obsessed with "Order." That outfit has gotta go. And ya, Cass is going to be mad. Can my elf kiss it and make it all better? I made sure to feed the starving and cloth the naked in the Hinterlands before starting IHW. Just thought that, RP wise, that should be a thing that gets done before that point. Then I got Corporal Vale as an agent for the very first time. Let Viv agentize the mage lady, which made me feel like she was much more useful that I'd thought. Oh yeah! I'd never gone looking for Dorian, and there he was hanging out over by Solas in Haven. The game kept throwing flirt options at me constantly, and I did give in once. And when Cass comes to talk to you right before the Warning Claxon goes up... maybe it's just cuz I got my guy hat on, but she kinda booty swaggered over to my elf. Reminded me of someone on here who posted a gif of a lil bird saying it was going to "get that booty." I've decided my guy has been riding a particular Red Hart for years and that's whats in the stables. His scars are from a particularly nasty fall in the mountains that the Red Hart saved his life after by dragging his unconscious body somewhere visible. Anyway, so I enjoyed riding the hart around the Hinterlands some adn that whole story came to me. I've added dork to his list of adjectives. He makes me laugh. ^^ And I considered making him start believing in the Maker, but the game doesn't recognize dual religion. So, Ameridan got to say the line to Giselle, "It's time to start believing in this world." It's such a good line. ^^ Oh! The Scene before one goes to save Haven by setting off the Trebuchet. My elf's nose won't CRAZY. What can I say, it made me...snort...with laughter.

This makes me laugh. I romanced him my first run and was so shocked by what happened that my mage lady just stood there staring at him afterwards. Then the little talk icon popped up and I was like, DAMN RIGHT I GOT QUESTIONS. The things we miss when we go so fast.

Addendum to my earlier post: Bruenor went after Vinsomer and, while it wasn't a very hard fight, Solas went down twice, the first time right off the hop. So, at least someone got his ass kicked.
phoray Your elf looks a lot like my male elf, Olinar. I had just finished his game and was early in my next PT when JoH came out. Imagine my surprise when I first met Ameridan. The resemblance was uncanny!

Went through the first part of Descent too quickly. Why can't it be longer, more places to explore? At least I got some nice fried deepstalkers.

Whew. I was super worried I'd open that up and find his clone. Although they are similar, there are enough differences that I feel no need to totally remake him olinar has slimmer features. And he does look a lot like Ameridan! NatashinaPretty sure you meant to tag me with that. That's exactly the lil bird I was talking about. I had geared Cass in something that had a tail, so it was swishing too ^__^

So, Skyhold. 1st thing, Haven Dream. Allying the mages made sure that was a sure thing in happening. Lovely access to clothing after that. Never thought I'd ever voluntarily wear the quilt clothing, but necessary to buff up the male elven form. Finished recruiting Cole. My character's reaction to Cole was strong. I'd given him the background of a wife that died in childbirth with his only child. Teh descriptions of suffering Cole was giving was bringing up major bad feelings. But, in the end, he told himself it was unrelated to Cole himself, and more just bad memories of the worst time in his life. So, Cole got to stay. Talked to Viv; man. We are NOT getting along. First time in my PTs she didn't offer to take me shopping for clothes. But it is, funnily enough, showing a different side of her. She's super critical of the Inquisition because she wants it to succeed. Stepping back, I could ascribe this to her need for it to succeed so her name is tied to something great. But... The Inquisition needs doubters like Sera and critical thinkers like Viv. It's not just Cullen that can improve the Organization. I know I know. Viv sucks. I like not getting along with her. It makes her character better when she isn't being simpering sweet "we're friends". Talked to Blackwall on the first playthrough I WASN'T romancing him. The Ramparts. The way he was talking about the Quiz he usually reserves for the Wardens. Ever notice that? I still don't find Solas attractive. Like, at all. It's more the idea of his tragicness that is going to guide me later for that PT, I suppose. Not this PT though! I notice that the conversations with folks seem to be shorter when you aren't flirting with them.

Pretty much just finished the Fallow Mire. This my 4th time doing so, and thinking/feeling about it afterwards raises it in my esteem some. I like that there is only one camp; like it's too dangerous to have more, makes you feel like you have to ration. The danger is heightened by trying to avoid the water. I like the lighting and rain. I think the undead could have been explained better and that there should be more hordes on hard mode. But the zone is tight, there is a goal at the end of it, and a battle with an Avaar Barbarian and such that adds to lore.
Cole was finally in my party and gosh, I missed him. Telling me about what was going on in Fallow Mire, surprising Cassandra with his serious nature. Oh, by the way, my team is going to be Cass (LI), Cole, and Varric this run through. Will switch out Varric as needed for companion quests. But I really really want to see Varric interact with Cole and Cass more than I have in other play throughs. Someone once got onto me for having Varric wear something that covered his chest hair, so I've been careful to pick the right outfits. And my tinting is getting more subtle. In previous PTs, I'd picked an overarching color and then run around in all red, all blue, all green sort of out fits. But now I got the Everknit green, onyx metal, with deep browns, and occasional splashes of red. It looks more natural and pretty. ^^
Enough playing for the day. Going to interact with real people tonight which, of course, means I gotta scrub the place down.
Come Anders! (my roomba. yes, I named him Anders.)
Come Anders! To the Foyer!

The Deep Roads is a good place to easily fall off the edge of cliffs. Usually my so called "friends" do a good job of that. But at the moment my Inky is doing it on her own.

I decided that our first stop had to be Redcliffe and this Arl Eamon. Make sure he doesn’t die from this disease before we have a chance to talk to him. As we arrived on the outskirts of Redcliffe village Alistair wanted to discuss something. And well, it turned out he is the illegitimate son of King Maric, brother of King Cailan (though they don’t share mother) and thus actually have a claim on the throne of Ferelden. By the stone, that does explain a lot of what happened at Ostagar. That’s why he was initially brought up by Arl Eamon. However, when the arl remarried the new arlessa believed he was Eamons bastard instead of just a royal bastard. Thus, he was shipped off to be a Templar. As If things weren’t complicated enough we soon found out that Redcliffe was under attack by the undead. Every night walking corpses came from the castle to attack the village. We agreed to help and secure the situation in the village before entering the castle. The arls brother Bann Teagan was there leading the defense and asked us to discuss preparations for the night with the mayor Murdoch and Ser Perth. Murdoch needed help convincing the village smith to help repairing the arms and armor of the militia. I had to promise the well marinated smith I would search for AND find his daughter up at the castle. Morrigan was especially pleased with us helping the people with their little problems. We found a shifty elf at the inn who was hired by Teyrn Loghain to keep watch over Redcliffe castle. Odd. Well, we made sure every capable hand was enlisted into the defense of the village. Including the innkeeper coward. As soon as we got the innkeeper out of the inn we made sure the militia boys got their morale boost in the form of ale! Then there was this surfacer dwarf who preferred to die by my sword instead of fighting corpses. No matter. Sod him. The team contemplating the need to boost morale. Some were a bit skeptical. Nightfall came and the dance began. We won the night and it was time to enter the castle. That’s when the arlessa came out to fetch Bann Teagan for some sodding reason. Teagan showed us a secret backway in. He went with the arlessa so as not raise suspicion of “the great evil” inside the castle. According to lady Isolde some evil mage had summoned some evil spirit or some such to wreak havoc on the place. Well we had to find out what lay behind all of this so in we went. That is I, my fellow droogs Alistair, Morrigan and Leliana. In the castle, we fought walking corpses, shades, darkspawn, and an undead Revenant. We also found the “evil mage” in the dungeons. He didn’t strike me as evil at all. The arlessa had hired him to tutor her son Connor in the arts of magic to save him being sent to the circle tower. Well I knew she was hiding something. I know a liar when I see one, being rather good at it myself if you know what I mean. Jowan believed it was in fact Connor who inadvertently had summoned some demon or something like that. Anyway, Jowan wasn’t all innocent. He had been hired by Teyrn Loghain to poison Arl Eamon. We sent Jowan away and pressed on. I may note on the side that we found the villages smiths’ daughter there as well and sent her home to her take care of her drunken father. All of which more or less filled my todays good deed quota. At last we could enter the hall to confront Isolde and Connor. As suspected Connor was possessed by some demon we had to fight Teagan and some guards. The kid Connor ran upstairs during the fighting and Bann Teagan was released from the demon’s influence. The poor kid Connor was the demon’s way into our world from the fade and our only way to stop the demon was to kill the boy. Morrigan had some idea of some ritual involving several mages but since we only had one it was out of the question. We went back to camp to discuss it all and I managed to make Leliana see truth about what had to be done but Alistair wouldn’t. So, I took Sten with me instead of Alistair when we went looking for Connor. We found him alone playing. I explained to him what had to be done. I think he understood. He had only sought to help his father but we all know that evil often prey on innocence. Before I could end his suffering the demon took control over him again. We sent the demon back beyond the veil but it would no doubt be back as soon as it gathered its strength. Lady Isolde came running again pleading for Connors life. Never once contemplating the amount of death, despair, and destruction her meddling had already caused the people of Redcliffe. Pleading I had to knock her out and with a tear in my eye I ended poor Connors life. We were all a bit distraught afterwards, not even Morrigan had a sly remark. The lady Isolde was of course totally crushed. Silenced Her spirits rose somewhat when I declared that we would search for the Urn of sacred ashes in the rather vain hope it could restore Arl Eamon to health. The arlessa had Brother Genitivis address in Denerim. So, that would be our next stop. With a bit of luck, we will make it there and out again unnoticed…

From the Diary of Kara Trevelyan: The bigger they are, the harder they fall. Never appreciated those words until a Templar Behemouth almost fall on top of me in the Knight's Tomb. Growling and snarling and with one final great big...thunk.
Then we went to the center of the Tomb where...as Tombas are I suppose...surrounded by skeletons. They rose up every time we hit one of the sconces. Including a Revenant. The battle went much, much better this time, we dispatched it with only a half dozen arrows sticking from its head.
So...the artifact was the story of Red Crossing. The real story. Hardly the story of dread and doom the Dalish make it out to be. But somehow more tragic for all of that. Finished one of my favorite quests in DA I. The Knight's Tomb. And gave the tome to the Dalish. Something I always tend to do. The Dalish need the lesson a lot more then the Humans do. If healing is to begin.

--Did half of the Frostback Basin. I actually did the shards out there. I forgot how annoying they are. The platforming is much easier on a controller, but finding the damned things are a pain in the butt. I cracked open the vault and found a really creepy codex. It was basically laying a curse on the entire elven pantheon before giving you something like a total of +15 cold resist. You can't read it unless your IQ drank from the Well.
--I kinda like the look of veil crystal. That bright glimmering green compliments dragon leather nicely. I only wish we could tint weapons. I'd love for my axe and shield to match. I'm such a girl sometimes.
--My banter bugged out. It was firing, that wasn't the problem. The problem was repeat banter. I got the Solas/Varric post-WHWM conversation 4xs. Once was in the Emerald Graves. However, the other 3 hit in JoH. When I got the same banter twice in a row (the WHWM one,) I swapped Solas out. Varric and Dorian bet on the IQ's success twice in JoH, and this is the third time in the game I've seen it. I've had to change up my preferred team. I've got Solas/Bull/Dorian instead of Varric/Solas Dorian.
I left the zone, crafted some gear since Bull is very squishy in this DLC and came back. Hopefully I won't have that happen again. Banter has been odd ever since I ran into the Judgement bug.
--I've arrived at Stone-Bear Hold. I'm about to swap around party members and think of a replacement for Bull. Bull isn't going to like the Augur very much. Cass doesn't either but I haven't used it very much at all this time. Probably because she never left my party on my rogue.
Edit: Set up your tactic menu on Sera and Varric to shut off Leaping Shot. I've found that it's more trouble than it's worth outside of major boss fights. If you're doing Descent with her, shut that off before you get the final boss. Otherwise they will flip to their doom.

Hit act 3 in DA2. Apparently I've forgotten a lot of how the game went, though it has been more than a year since I last played more than an hour or so.
Trying to figure out if I've failed my chances to rivalmance Sebastian, which I haven't done yet... But it turns out it's hard to get rivalry points with Sebastian while playing a Hawke that fits with him. I'm playing a wee mage anti-authoritian with a heart of gold, and he keeps giving me friendship when I'm not actually the worst person. Alas.
At any rate, it's fun. I usually default to "LAW AND ORDER" Hawke, followed by the usual clichés of "MAH FREEDOMS", "Murderknife's my BFF", "Is this yours? Cool, mine now", and "TOO PRECIOUS AND TRUSTING FOR THIS WORLD." So well-meaning snarky derpasaurus Hawke is amusing me.
Even if she may be destined to not wind up with the handsome prince. There's always other playthroughs!

Trilobite Derby The best way to rivalmance Sebastian is to constantly push him to take the throne. That gets you rival points whereas pushing for Chantry Seb gains friendship points. Also, don't agree to go right away on his Act 3 quest and approve of the Exalted March idea. Though if Hawke is pro-mage freedom, she probably wouldn't do that last one. Seb is really all over the place in that quest. One minute he can't believe the mages could be much of a problem, the next he's like, "Ahhh, the mages must be stopped!"

Hmmm. There I was, getting all prepared to do The Winter Palace before Adamant and then I realized I haven't even gotten Cass's personal quest yet. So, I'd miss out on a dance with Cass if I jumped there first. :/
Also, being dedicated to Cole in the party means I need kitty's collar which is at Griffon Keep.
Guess that settles that! No Warden Alistair to talk to Morrigan this PT anyway.

Also, don't agree to go right away on his Act 3 quest and approve of the Exalted March idea. Though if Hawke is pro-mage freedom, she probably wouldn't do that last one. Seb is really all over the place in that quest. One minute he can't believe the mages could be much of a problem, the next he's like, "Ahhh, the mages must be stopped!" By the way, I'm really interested in why the Grand Cleric is so much against the Divine's investigation?

Messed around a little with mods and the helmets from Descent. Made the mistake of loading up Shira, who has suddenly become an adorable dork, whereas she was just a cute dork before. Played around with armor designs with her, but nothing much. Also loaded up Hamin and cleared up some Darkspawn from the Storm Coast and closed the last Rift there. Did make an attempt to write a more Hamin styled report, but the results were kind of eh. What was not eh was the view from the balcony while writing it. Very pretty. Been enjoying the views during the last few times I loaded up the game. Letter from Hamin to his Keeper, awaiting Leliana's review before being sent.
Dearest Keeper There is not much to be written about todays events. After Corypheus troops managed to snatch one of Leliana's younger ravens a short while ago, sensitive information is to stay within the Inquisition and admittedly, very little has happened since the last letter. I can tell you that we had an most interesting encounter with four bears and some darkpawn, as we were sealing them off from the Storm Coast. The Grey warden we recruited was something else, he got trapped in a pile of bears, which were being hammered by a Hurlock Alpha and he emerged without a scratch! He then hinted to me that he would rather repeat that encounter to infinity, rather than visit the Winter Palace. Which is where we will be heading in a few days. So he will most likely get to rest at Skyhold, while Dorian and Sera will accompany me to the Ball. They both approved of my idea of taking the Iron Bull with us in Blackwalls place, but Dorian did warn me that his presence would offer more amusement than protection. But we will have to wait and see. While offering to listen to Josephine went for a while, I learned that the big room with the balcony supposedly belongs to me. While I've been there before on occasions, I never realized that these were to be my quarters. I must remember to collect my items from the room I have been staying in. Still, I feel justified in my misunderstanding, they did send me to that room once we arrived in Skyhold, and while they call me Inquisitor, I'm still an elf that's suspected to have murdered their Divine. It's a thin line I dance on and my leg has only recently regained it's usefulness. Speaking of dancing, we will be departing soon and I have a some very red finery to get into. And there is a lot of padding to be attached as well, if I don't want the finery to slip off my shoulders. Josephine claims it can protect me from daggers and stray arrows, but I suspect it might be more to at least pretend I have the same girth as your average city elf. Hopefully I can write again soon. Until then, maybe our dances with the human nobility end safely on both sides. Dareth shiral. As for Sebastians reaction over the mages, I read it more like. "No no no, there is no mage troubles here Left Hand. No need to march the Divine's army's through the street to root out the apostate bloodmages. It's fiiiine." *attempt at convincing smile*. Once she's gone, "Okay, real talk guys, the Divine is seriously considering marching her army through the city, which will cause some slaughter and it will not be limited to just the mages. We really need to get this bloodmage mess under control." Figure that's why Elthina didn't want the agent to decide drastic measures were needed. When you have two people riled up and ready to fight, shouting at each other, having the third person appearing and starting to shout as well rarely helps. Especially if the third person takes sides. It's generally better to calm both the shouters down and try to find a peaceful way to solve the trouble. Sadly, it was just too late and the eventual fist fight had become inevitable. Or at least, that's how I see it.

Still doing penance on NM for beating the Ravager so easily yesterday. Headed to the Hissing Wastes to see what the remains of the Venatori are up to. I've got Bull and Solas, to hopefully trigger their chess game, and Varric for dwarfy stuff. It's not working so far. Last time I wanted the chess convo, I had to go to about 6 different zones and do nothing but wander. Hopefully it won't take that long this time. So, they closed some rifts, killed more Vints and RTs, explored the first of what looks to be several dwarfy tombs in the area and found maps to more. There's also been mention of a large "beast" nearby that makes the local poison spiders wary. Bull is really hoping it's a dragon. My goal next time is to get to the dog merchant. I'm hoping he's got at least one more T3 schematic that I don't have. How do you know if you have them all?

--Well, I finished JoH. I left Varric out of my party for the rest of the DLC. I didn't get one lock in Hakkon's Hold but frankly, I didn't care. It was some grey loot, a bit of cloth and one of the Hakkon schematics I got the last time around. I bought the rest of the schematics from the vendor while I was there. That was my main concern. The story of the first Inquisitor and his friends is probably one of my favorite stories in DA:I, hands down. It's become one of my favorites in the series. I love the exploration of the history of Thedas. It gives me a lot of genuine emotion and I think it's amazing overall. It ranks up there with Legacy and Arrival (ME2) for me as one of the best DLCs BioWare has ever done. --Trespasser is great, but JoH expands the lore of the entire setting. I'm also seeing some interesting foreshadowing popping up about not only Trespasser, but about the possible direction of DA4. In any case, it has the most unique perspective on mages and spirits in the entire series thus far. I'm a little sad we are leaving southern Thedas probably for good. --Also, it's stunningly gorgeous. I enjoying running around and not using fast travel much. It's got just the right size for exploration. The only thing I hate is all the damned spiders on the river. Ugh. It wouldn't be so bad if my party AI didn't get ready to attack them if they farted in our general direction. --Anyway, since I was using Iron Bull, I put the JoH Chromatic Sword on him for the last push through Hakkon Hold. The +30% cold/fire/lightning resist came in handy. It doesn't have a rune or hilt slot, but it was worth it. I'm glad I hung onto it. He's going to be using that throughout all of Trespasser. --Guess what? I ran another another damn bug tonight. This is a common one, so heads up. I went down to the southern part of the zone to kill the dragon. He isn't hard with good frost resist armor, just extremely annoying. It definitely a fight were I'm yelling, "Stay put you twat!" at the TV. I kill him, get the cutscene and the loot...doesn't appear. I leave the zone, come back and no loot. Now, I honestly don't need the loot, but it's the principle of the matter. I had to re-kill the bastard all over again. Then I got my goodies. Poor Valena has gotten some bad luck with bugs this time around. --This part is a bit melancholy for me. After I go to Mythal's Shrine, I'm taking all of Solas' gear off of him. Except for his customized robes and his staff. I'll strip the bits out of his armor and weapon, but the rest is getting divived up among my Trespasser party. I sometimes get a little melancholy at the end of a long game. I was at the end of Origins when I'd swap out anything really useful from Morrigan. This...this is worse. I'm kinda glad I've got the warm/shiny romance with Cullen this time. --One more thing: Cullen gave my a character a hug. Woohoo!!! Yes, something that little and quick made me very happy. It doesn't hurt that it's the same point in the game where Solas' is dumping the elven IQ. Cullen is concerned about having to order the IQ into battle. They talk and he just hugs her. Why isn't that in more romances??? I know hugs are tougher to animate, but sometimes my character doesn't need a tongue down her throat. A hug every now and then from a LI is very welcome by me. Lord knows that poor Hawke and Shepard needed more hugs.

If you have bought the schematic from him, it will not show up on the list again. However, with mods, it'd probably show up on another vendor. That is, if you installed shopping mods that allowed vendors at other places to sell T3 and T4.

I'm talking about the ones that only show up via the Short List perk. How do you know when you have all those? Is there even a way?

melbella The wiki page has a list of schematics the Perk is supposed to make available and a list of "Special offers" the dog gives you if you have the perk. Of course it's not 100% that it's all of them, but probably quite close. You could compare the list of schematics that you have and those that appear and see if you are missing any. dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/The_Short_Listdragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Merchant_(Hissing_Wastes)Not sure that there is any indication in game that you caught them all, except maybe if you visit him a few times and he doesn't sell any schematics during any of those visits.
