melbella , it worked! Thanks. There're four separate docs; 200, 400, 1000, 5000. I simply pulled the 1000 and dropped it into the mod folder list that the mod manager reads from.

At camp in the evenings, we sit by the fire and Leliana tells stories. That's usually the Que for Morrigan to skulk off to her tent. But this particular night, Leliana admitted she had lied to me about why she left Orlais. The whole thing sounded like another of her tales, but she looked sincere, when she spoke of being betrayed by her lover Marjolaine. Huh! I knew it. Dam, this was one of those times I didn't want to be right. i.imgur.com/GRmhPKv.jpgA man named Levi Dryden came to our camp. He said Duncan had agreed to go with him to Soldier's Peak, an old warden fortress. Levi wanted answers about the past, maybe Duncan did too. I said we would honour the agreement. I thought if any other Grey Wardens made it out of Ostagar, they might be holed up there. But on route we were attack by mercenary assassins. i.imgur.com/tDCzKtu.jpgTurned out it was Leliana's past catching up with her. She said she wanted to go to Denerim and settle things with Marjorlaine, once and for all. I told her we would go there on the way back from Soldier's Peak. i.imgur.com/HpgSDcV.jpgThe peak was high in the mountains and bloody freezing. Any hopes of finding live wardens was dashed when we were attacked by living dead i.imgur.com/C2zxnPo.jpgBut inside things warmed up, blasted demon set me on fire. i.imgur.com/Tnc2tnh.jpgMore fighting... i.imgur.com/VKsdrwF.jpgAnd then... Aw no, More fighting. i.imgur.com/jLw8acc.jpgThat one had a nice set of armour. i.imgur.com/JAm8T2a.jpgA few more... i.imgur.com/1XFerXw.jpgAnd then a bit of a potion to warm the blood. i.imgur.com/kfqgi7P.jpgThe warden mage that made the potion had survived this whole time, well sort of. But while he didn't have the answers Levi was looking for, he did agree to help us rid the base of demons. i.imgur.com/3vGV0pZ.jpgWith the last of the demons dead, I told Avernus to let me know if he came up with anything. i.imgur.com/lmqA92Y.jpgLevi was a bit disappointed with the whole grandma summoning demons thing. But he decided to stay on, and turn the base into a trading hub. i.imgur.com/nTaoNX5.jpgAlister was pretty pleased with himself, or was it just the dashing armour. i.imgur.com/3Gj9OgP.jpgAnd I learned a few new skills along the way. Regarding the mage/Templar alliance, my understanding was that the Templars in this group were sympathetic towards the mages and hostile towards Meredith and the more hardline Templars. This is what a pro-mage Hawke should've wanted. Of course, this issues also was sharpened, as all thing in this game (whole game was a comic-story): the rebel mages/templars attacked Hawke instead they would offered the alliance for example, and kidnapped his/her sibling/lover... it was illogical: if the others could not, Thrask knew, that Hawke with them, and probably would not risk this, I never found him so unstable/idiot... yes, this would be a nice alliance. But this is the writers don't wanted, because as I see, they forced this stupid decision, for the more drama, and sacrificed the logic on the altar of dramatical stupidity... Just think about it: why anyone would choose templars, if the mages would behave as a real human entity...
In fact: if they had not been included in the idiocy factor, Meredith in the beginning of the Act3 would be dismissed, and and everyone in Kirkwall lives happily, until they die... but I think, this stupid comic book story have charm.

This wasn't necessarily what *I* did today in Dragon Age so I hope it's not cheating, but I finally convinced my SO to try out DAO!! Yeah!! So this is a little of the run down, though he didn't get too far as of now! : First, he had to create our little hero. There was a ton of back and forth on the CC screen while I was watching in restless anticipation. After a selection, my dear SO was slightly disappointed that there weren't enough characters to name Thedas's newest star "Horaceamberson" ( Me: The characters have their own last name. Dear SO: That is his first name! ) Some grumbling did ensue, however, after a short while Wallace the Dalish elf was officially born! Upon Wallace's first encounter with the "shems" in the forest my dear SO casually checked with me what his "homie" Tamlen and the other Dalish thought of humans. I could only get out a "There's some bad history between..." before three dead humans slumped to the ground. Wallace then ended up convincing Tamlen that they ought to check out the cave the shems had mentioned. As they descended deeper into the cave and fought off some giant spiders, and ransacked some cocoons, they found an interesting mirror. Wallace encouraged Tamlen to take a closer look before tragedy struck, the "homie" having unexpectedly disappeared and Wallace waking up back with the clan days later. Soon after waking up and hearing about how he was saved by a passing shem and the fate of Tamlen, Wallace seemed a little concerned and disheartened, telling the keeper he tried to stop Tamlen from messing with the cave/mirror. (I lol'ed so hard ). After meeting the Grey Warden that saved him, Wallace just couldn't leave his "best homie" behind and went once more to the cave to try and save him, only to discover his friend's future was taken from him. To add to the circumstance, Wallace realized he had become tainted and the only way to save himself was to leave with the Grey Warden Duncan. My dear SO made it to Ostagar with Wallace. It's so entertaining watching someone play the game for the first time. He already does things I'm always too "nice" to do, even after 10 characters, like kill the three shems lol. I think it's going to be an interesting playthrough, and I feel like Morrigan is going to have Wallace's name written all over the place

deadlydwarf Thank you, and yes, I have the ultimate, so I will have the DLCs included, at least the Awakening. While I love the modding community, I think I am inclined to agree with Catilina that the vanilla is the best first time around, unless the game is broken like KOTOR2 was. So, for now, I will just play the game "out of the box". The graphics is not the best, but it is not game-breaking bad for me, like I felt it was in NWN1 or Arkanum. You're going to want to take a look at this mod list when you play Awakening. Most of the mods listed are bug fixes to repair half broken quests. bsn.boards.net/thread/735/natashinas-pc-bug-fixes-awakening

I decided to call it a day right as the siege of Andamant could have been started. See, I decided earlier today that the half XP and even ground trials weren't enough, so added the one that makes bad guys have extra powers. Everything went great until Griffin's Keep. Wiped out. And again. And thrice more. I didn't get it, kept thinking I just hadn't been paying enough attention, his barrier just never seemed to go less than half. Anyway, somewhere in there I noticed he was immune to fire ad sensitive to ice. So. I re spec to have like one ice spell instead of my fire spell and look at what Knight Enchanter has..still wiped. This took an hour, probably. So then I'm like...fine. turn that extra trial off. He dies in less than 3 minutes. Well. That was lame. So I reload, put the trial back on and think. in the end I decided Varric needed to go, because I needed another barrier flinging mage. Solas came in. made sure he had ice stuff. And after a 10-15 minute fight he died. That's better. And with the feeling of victory in my heart, I approached Rylen and tried to see why anyone would want to date him. He has a tattoo, a stark Haven accent, and he made one funny joke about smiting ashes. I guess. Griffon Keep is pretty neat, now that I had to work hard for it. A bit of a watered down Skyhold feel. I got Cole his kitty collar and someone on here has said multiple times that the Keep makes war sense to have before the attack on Adamant Then went to meet Erimund. He's just so evil. Can't wait to chop his head. Then what... Back to Skyhold to do a round around the companions. Solas rant makes better sense before rather than after Adamant siege. Sutherland and Co are adorable in the Tavern. And Cass liked me enough to tell me about her Seeker concerns, so that is a good sign! But RP wise, kinda gonna have to put that on hold, Darling, till after the big siege. In the morning, we March! Yes, I have that combo plus Grizzly End! It can result in what I'd call "unexpected boss fights." All of a sudden, a hedge mage is resistant to both fire and electricity and is quick to throw up strong barriers. As a result, I never go anywhere without having two mages on my team. Each has spells from two elemental trees and the staff has the power of the third element. (Example: my PC has fire and storm spells and a staff which causes cold damage.) That said, unexpected boss fights don't happen all the time. I actually went to Redcliffe twice to win the mages. The first time was such a cakewalk that I had to reevaluate my use of the Golden Nug. I decided to use nothing higher than Tier 2 schematics given that this was still early game. Also, thanks to the "Take it slow" trial, my team was at Level 7. (In the past, I was always higher than that.) The second time through was better -- the team started to go through the health potions -- but the team was never completely wiped. Then Katriel and her team went back to the Storm Coast to hunt the "Psycho Apostate" and got wiped! Then the second attempt went better thanks to the "Grizzly End" trial. We ran into the psycho apostate just as a bear came into the area -- and they began to fight each other! i.imgur.com/TUkbqxi.pngMy team let them wear each other down and then went in for a double kill! Sadly, though, half the bears that attack you don't leave hides! After getting the key off the dead apostate, Katriel's team went to see what he was hiding in his quaint cottage on the hill. i.imgur.com/pAMulsh.pngNote no pile of dead bodies is complete without a harlequin! (I wonder if Leliana was a harlequin back in the day?) Katriel and her team took on the highland ravager at level 9. It was a tough fight; the team got wiped on the first attempt. The second time went better but had to use tactical part of the time when the dragonlings entered the fray. I went after all shards and got the superb belt of fire to help the fight. I did that Haven yesterday with Katriel at level 10 and her companions at level 9. That's early compared to previous PTs where I would start the fight at level 11 so I could use Tyrda's staff. I'm still trying to follow some of the recommendations in the blog phoray posted. I saved Fallow Mire for after Haven so I could see Cole's reactions. I started that today.

From the Diary of Kara Trevelyan: After a week of no Corypheus, and no known activities from even the remains of his army. Other then very slight movement, I think a vacation is in order. After all its been 3 years since I recieved the Mark. 3 years of almost constant fighting and war. So yes, a vacation sounds nice.
As luck would have it we have information on an arechological expedition in the 'Frostback Basin' which is looking into the past of the last Inquisitor of the First Inquisition. And with my renewed interest in history, crawling around Dwarven and Elven ruins alike, we have set off for there.
Upon getting there, surprise surprise, the expedition is apparently threatened by Demons and hostile Avarr. So yes, off to the Frostback Basin. Good headcanon given the circumstances. Only thing not in character worth mentioning is the *only* 'support so and so' option for the Divine I have gotten is Vivienne, and Kara would not support Divine Vivienne with a fifty foot pole. Which the support divine option has been something a little bit of an interesting headcanon for dear Kara. First playthrough she didn't, not wanting to mettle, second PT she went out of her way to support Cass...and I guess she is not going to want to meddle in the affairs of the Chantry for a second time. Which provides a rather interesting niggle for her. One of her big character arcs is...well forcing her will on the people's of Southern Thedas. Not really out of any desire to rule, but a desire to see people set free. BUT after seeing the visions that exisisted within the Therinfall redoubt and the Envy demon, and hard won experience, she also knows how dangerous that power can be personally to her. Hence why she has always been uncomfortable with the growing power of the Inquisition despite the Inquisition growing in power from her active will. She disbanded the Templar Order and leashed it, she purposefully put a puppet on the Orlesian throne, and as the events of my post DA I fan fic are concerned, she put Briala in as her new Spymaster. And why during Trespasser she decided to keep the Inquisition as Victoria's Honor Guard (Divine Cassandra) because she felt she had no choice. She wanted to disband the Inquisition, in the past, but with Orlais weakened, the Templars rebuilding, and the Wardens exiled the only power in the world capable of stopping Solas is the Inquisition. Going to be curious to see what she will do IF she has a different Divine and the Wardens aren't exiled. (though in one PT I did keep the Inquisition with her even with the Wardens staying).

I recreated and fired up Garnet Cadash, dwarf and rogue extraordinaire. She is my canon character. Agnostic, smartass, Bull Rider and former Carta. While she's going to be going with the Assassination spec as an archer, she's no causal killer. She's fairly pretty and kind so the Carta would use her for making lyrium deals. One man tried to attack the polite-seeming dwarf. He didn't live to regret it, but he did leave her a very nasty scar over her left eye. Garnet was my first DA:I character, conceived over a year before release. I love dwarves and when I saw the Cadash surname I knew I had to play one. She has a bit of Dagna's personality in her, in that she's completely fascinated by magic. She's not as bouncy and easily distracted as Dagna. I'm not sure how much I'm going to play her, but I'll probably at least play off and on throughout the holiday week. This is exactly what she looks like, except the new version has black eyeliner. I've missed her quite a bit. Happy Solstice everyone!

Just did Adamant. So. If you open a Fade Rift in the Fade...where do they go? Also, the anchor keeps ME alive in the Fade. Have I created some kind of Anchor Bubble over the rest of the troops? Varric and Blackwall don't say much about being in the Fade when we first get there, which is a bit lame. Would have welcomed some Sera cussing to lighten it up. Also, I've brought Cass to the Fade a long while back, but it's been a while so I'd forgotten what Nightmare said to her. Mocking her for believing the Quiz might have been the Herald while I'm in a blossoming romance with her was a bit of a punch to the gut. I guess I mean, it affected me more emotionally as a player because in my head I'm role playing someone in love with her. Made me feel a bit of an ass for running around saying I'm not the Chosen One (which nets me disapproval with Cass as it is.) Then some more disapproval from her when I kept the Wardens I wonder if I'll ever get her romance to kick in at this point... I still have Finding the bad Templars/Mages and Finding the Seekers to make up for it I guess. I've never ended up single at the end of a game, but I'm worried about it this time, a tad afraid to go talk to her until maybe I do some of her quests to boost her mood. Hawke's face of shame when the Spirit apologizes for not being the Divine. I love that look. Also sad face when the Fear Demon talks about Fenris dying. NEVER! It was an honor to have fought with you, Stroud. May the Dread Wolf never catch your scent. Perhaps since you're already in the Fade, Falon'din will be able to find and guide you. Speaking of the Dread Wolf... Solas Greatly Disapproved too. NANER naner, you can't take "You're so awesome" balcony speech back, naner naner. Annnnnd...still no sense in Hawke going to Weishaupt. Or why she growls "Corypheus is mine." at the Fear Demon. Life's mysteries. Then she tells me to take care of Varric for her. Uh, he's right over there? How about you share a pint before you run off, huh?

And then listening to all my companions and everyone applauding/ condemning me for enslaving the mages/ restarting the Circles blah blah blah. Especialy the Simpering from Vivienne. I was all explaining to the TV "I did not do this to restart the Circles I only want to keep an eye on them until they prove their worth and make up for their mistake of falling in with Tevinter"...which actually is what made me keep the Wardens this last time with Kara. That one guy saying "we stand ready to make up for Clarel's tragic mistake". The chance for redemption.

Either Gaspard, or the "romantic" option of Briala and Celene back together. That's a relief. May be able to pull this out after all. I really want a dance with her at Halamshiral. She actually is one of my favorite fictional characters ever, maybe even my favorite female fictional character ever. I love her to bits. She was my Quiz's best friend last PT. This PT, I'm a little sad to notice her being so suspicious of Cole and Sera and Dorian, my other best friends. I'm hoping she'll make up with Cole in banter over the game. I'm sure if I'd made an adrastian knight for her, we'd be making out already. As it stands, I wanted her with an Ameridan Equivalent. An elven mage Inquisitor dating the new Leader of the Seekers really appealed to me.

Which is why it was so disconcerting for so long but on the other hand of the equation from a character developlment perspective it actually makes a lot of sense. That both women would be really suspcious of each other but as they grew as people, and got to know each other, they would become better friends. And better people. Still worried I'll get murder nun as Divine somehow this PT.

Will have to look at how the points fall from what decision when it rolls around. Still, guess it won't kill me to have a Viv Divine on a non canon play through... Wait, Murder Pope is Lel. Is Viv called Murder Nun?

Kara didn't recruit Viv her first time through but then it gave her/ mostly me the issue of...I always do not want to take a companion character out all the time. I do headcanon them needing a rest because they'd get fatigued. So I got to Jaws without Viv, without Solas, and only Dorian...it caused issues.

I do headcanon them needing a rest because they'd get fatigued. So I got to Jaws without Viv, without Solas, and only Dorian...it caused issues. So you don't want Lel or Viv? Why is only Dorian a problem? Well Lel is alright if she is not predisposed to becoming murder nunny. Just I do not support her kind of ideology enforced by the point of the Sword. I don't really support her ideology without her swords either but it is tolerable. While Vivienne is just a pure, if you will forgive the term, an abomination. Its not really a problem in terms of gameplay but just in terms of how I personally play the game. I rarely take the same companions out twice in a row, when I am selectig companions to go places. I like to 'rest' them. Because well...we are facing a lot of combat as agents of the Inquisition and such things can be tiring. And it gives me an excuse to use the other characters. So Kara begrugingly took Vivienne into the Inquisition.

melbella , it worked! Thanks. There're four separate docs; 200, 400, 1000, 5000. I simply pulled the 1000 and dropped it into the mod folder list that the mod manager reads from. Yay! Bigger backpacks are so much fun! You can explore all you want and never run out of space.
phoray I don't think Cass' romance will progress until you do the Seeker quest

I continued Issaar Adaar's story, with some favor to the people of the Inner Circle. Cassandra (Issaar tried to convince her, that she dont want to be Divine.) Leliana (Divine issue again... ...and a letter from Dead Justinia) Morrigan showed the elf artifact Blackwall told that his father had killed a little dog... ...and disappeared. Issaar an Bull found him in Val Royeaux. Under the gallows Surprisingly Cullens seems impressed The judgment Cole was afraid that the blood mages bind him. Solas and Varric quarreled, that he should be more spirit or more human. Issaar went with them to help him. Vivienne wanted a wyvern heart, but did not say why. Issaar thought, who so idiot, who act blindly? Vivienne is not reliable. ...And the terrible vengeance + Cullen helped to save Kirkwall from the vengeful, angry Princeling of Starkhaven

I've never gotten that.

^ I never understood why Vivienne decided on moving furniture instead of doing something meaner to the Inquisitor.
The Knight's Second shield looks useful for Alex. She's currently level 12. I haven't yet done the Aiding Kirkwall war table mission.
