I did The Final Piece today, my first time without Kieran, so I'm guessing I won't get that extra little mission in the fade. Every time I see Flemythal I get more excited for DA4 Cadash decided to go check out the mysterious earthquakes in the Deep Roads, thinking this might be part of Corypheus's plan since he was denied the Well of Sorrows (I've headcanoned this motivation, obviously). I wish there were more dwarf-specific dialogue options, but maybe more will come. I've only just ventured beyond the Inquisition camp and opened one gear-warded door, anyway. I plan to fight Corypheus after finishing Descent, and will skip Jaws this PT, even though I really like Jaws. I just find that I'm getting sick of DAI and need a break. I'll go back and finish my rogue Hawke next (who I left in Act 3) and then maybe play a city elf in DAO.

Hmmm....did you talk to Anora after you rescued her from Howe? You should be able to convince her to marry Alistair to keep the Therin bloodline alive. Then during the Landsmeet, your PC has to execute Loghain. She won't marry Alistair if he does the deed. Also, did you harden Alistair? Aside from that, Awakening is the most important of the DLCs taking place after the main story of Origins. Of the others, if you like Leliana, the "Leliana's song" DLC covers her history with Marjolaine and is short and sweet. The "Witch Hunt" DLC makes sense doing only if your PC did the Dark Ritual with Morrigan. Skip Golems... Ah, what's done is done. If Alnora was as politically savvy and sophisticated as she claimed to be, she'd be jumping at the chance to marry Alister, and achieve a smooth power transition. She can have her capricious fits about how she'd make an awesome queen in the dungeon. yes, I know Awakening is a long storyline linking two games. i'll give it a shot one of these days, and I'd like to play through all the background stories eventually. The various PC origins is where this game shows its depth and sets the role player up for an interesting ride. You've now visited all the areas with one origin. Go back to the game playing another origin and you'll view them with a new perspective. I'd say do one more origin -- preferably a different race from your first PT -- before trying DA2.

So..I brought Solas and Dorian out together and they are extraordinarily quiet. Bludy hell, I deliberately went rogue just to bring out the ones that never go together with the warrior. I didn't hear a single conversation between them for two hours. Is this glitch or perfectly normal? Solas and IB will talk. Cass is proving she can hold very well against mobs. And the rogue archer is performing better than I expected; companion rogues are apparently not reliable when it comes to fighting (hence my poor opinion of archer rogues. they still don't measure up to the GW2 ranger of course. ), both Varric and Cole. Cole did better than Varric though. I won't be finding out about Sera, she's never a choice.

Friggin great. I wanted my Cullen dream. But most of my dreams are about zombies.
So, I get Dragon Age meets Zombie apocalypse meets weird. The Horde is controlled by a hive mind and my friend gets control by eating the heart of patient zero. But it changes her; she things rather than allowing mankind to return to way to was before that they would all be happier cheating death and becoming one of the horde.
Only my pleading as her best friend wins my survivor group two days. Two days before volunteering for the transformation is no longer an option as we will be forced. Of course, I lost half of my survivor group already before I could reach her with my pleas. My love, Cullen, and my other best friend, Sera.
Solas and Dorian were part of my survivor group. The first day I tell everyone what has happened. An older man who has already lost his wife and fears death volunteers for the bite. It hurts morale very badly but off he goes to join the horde.
Dorian also has a lover, his amatus?? Who is also already part of the horde, so we're both pretty emotionally low. All of us consider suicide. The Zombie Queen that used to be my friend must have considered that ad sends Cullen to try to win me over.
Ohmigod, the in dream tears. We've been apart since the day before and I'd watched him die. I mean, technically, and I thought he'd become a mindless monster. But Cullen is still Cullen, still in there. That charming accent, that passionate love he's just... Physically dead. And technically rotting. But one day dead is just a bit pale and a little bit weird eye. And I almost kiss him when I reunite with him and then realize. And he realizes. The zombie ism will spread in the kiss.
Great. Real life tears. Dream emotions are so fresh right after I wake up.
Okay. So we talk and My in dream self cries and it seems like I can watch his heart breaking with mine. We can't be together, from my point of view, and he understands that POV, even if he knows I could just join up...We can't be together in life but we could be together in undeath. The running would be over. No more struggling for food and losing friends and loved ones to battle. Just less him kiss me, it wouldn't even have to be a violent bite.
And it's not really that I even considered it. I never came close to breaking. I just mourned the life I could no longer have with Cullen in front of his undead face. And I... Asked for his wedding ring back, sobbing. We were over.
And I had one more day. He seemed to harden after that. Or maybe it was the Zombie Queen using the hive mind to twist him. He acted like we'd been nothing. I went back to the group and updated them. That it was today. Either we fought our way out or managed to kill each other in a suicide fashion or maybe we could sneak.
But the hive mind knew our our only safe escape route was the ventilation. And that night, our final night before we made a push for freedom, Cullen came to put bars on the doors and windows and vents.
When we realized what he'd be doing, the survivors all looked at each other with meaning.
All I said was one thing. "Solas. I know what you are. You can stop this."
He nodded and said, "this world is an abomination that must not come to pass."
And swifty, Solas, Dorian, and the "rest" made for the second floor window escape option while I went to the door and braced my body against it. As if that would stop the horde for more than five seconds, but that's the only five seconds they needed. Hopefully.
Cullen seemed to just stand there in shock that we'd implement this plan right in front him. I'm braced against the door, the last of the survivors are making their way out the window, and I just look at Cullen with dry eyes Wondering if I'll have to fight him first. Or.. really, just thinking nothing in that moment but preparing nonetheless.
I see an internal struggle and then I see his decision face. I tense. He comes to the door and pushes his own body against it as well.
His love for me was greater than that of the Hive Mind. We would die together in true death protecting those who would try to stop it all and save the world from the Hive Mind Horde.
I just remember/feel so much love and sadness and resolute mind emotions as the horde began to beat at the door and the last survivor left out the window.
At that point I think my dream did a dramatic fade to white. But I know we died, two lovers, two heros.

I made most of the decisions I liked, etc. Also, playing anything but a Mage really limits options for fluid party comps. Wynne will have to be locked into one slot as the only Mage in the game available to me, and seeing 4 companions are warriors, the warrior PC leaves one slot for all 4 warrior comps to compete for, and if I play a rogue, then I can't take my love interest along, because Lelian's romance is the only one I have not seen. Seeing how Alistair is pretty much a must story-wise, being the second warden, it's basically either a Warrior + Alistair, Leliana and Wynne, or a Rogue + Alistair & Wynne and one slot for Sten/orghen/Shale & no romance. I wish they did not go so heavy on Warriors in the companion department to have an easier time building a diverse party. Another Mage would have been the best. I did just picked up DA2 on sale, so I guess, eventually....

After having completed the Emerald Graves, Katriel and her companions went back to the Storm Coast to take on a contingent of Red Templars who were occupying an old dwarven port. After defeating the Templars, Katriel and her companions took a row boat to an island off the coast of the Storm Coast where they encountered the Vinsomer electric dragon (Level 19). This dragon was much tougher than the one they crushed in the Emerald Graves. (Katriel's team was about Level 16 during the fight.)
Before starting WEWH, Katriel got caught up with the companions. Most notably, she opted to "humanize" Cole despite Solas' disapproval. (I wanted to see if "humanized" Cole acted any differently in the Winter Palace than Cole the "spirit". There was no difference.) I started WEWH with Katriel at Level 17. That's a little overpowered compared with the recommended Level 15 for WEWH. I compensated by having Katriel as the only mage on the team and having two rogues - Cole and Varric. No surprising banter unfortunately...
Deciding what ending to push for is always difficult from a "scrupples" perspective. In talking with the advisers, they felt that if Katriel wanted to help Briala, she should put Gaspard on the throne while arming Briala with enough Blackmail info on Gaspard to make him a puppet. (Even Briala seemed open to working with Gaspard despite her "he's a warmonger" line.) However, sitting on your hands while Florianne slaughters Celene feels hopelessly wrong. (Like leaving Redcliffe to the undead or slaughtering the children in the Circle Tower.) I've tried the "have them all work together" scenario, but having a coalition gov't with three leaders who hate each other doesn't seem very stable long-term. I therefore opted for the "Lesbian Love Connection" (getting Briala and Celene back together) option as the best compromise position. With her only rival out of the way, Celene will no longer be deterred from pursuing reforms to help the elves. (This, based on my reading of TME.) Getting Gaspard killed always feels like a betrayal though...

I don't remember all my dreams, but lately they've been very focused on Dragon Age. Mostly because I've been doing a lot of writing fanfiction? I guess it engages my dream brain more than playing the games did? It'd have to be some sort of AU. Undead is caused by spirits in Dragon Age. It's our world where pseudoscience has made it into a virus. Then the hive mind thing reeks a bit of alien ness.

The various PC origins is where this game shows its depth and sets the role player up for an interesting ride. You've now visited all the areas with one origin. One of the companions in DA2, Merrill, is a friend of the Dalish PC during the Origin story. Otherwise, the only companion that ties in to Origins is Anders, an apostate mage you run into in the Awakening DLC. Your comments on Dragon Age sort of mirror me on ME. I've done DA and liked it. Then I tried ME - just the first game - and couldn't quite get into it though I appreciated the work BW put into the game. If I had done ME first, perhaps that's the series I would be really into... (Or is this just a case of some people being more "Lord of the Rings" while others are more "Star Wars/Star Trek"?)

Even though I'm a terrible shooter, in ME I can still play a "mage" class so I can get away with being a terrible shooter. As you might expect, Soldier was my least favorite class. Warrior is OK in DA, but kind of boring/slow compared to the other classes.

Have you recruited Dagna yet? I think she's in charge of masterworking and runes. But the ability is open for all classes. Yeah. I realised belatedly that must it. *shakes head* Not thinking straight since I got riled up by the white screen glitch. Spent an hour trying to punch through it. Anyway, the three specialists came in. Confused. One seemed to be about assassins. That's out. The Inq is a bow user. One seems to be talking about traps. Ok, useful. The third is talking about ... tonics? Or whatever, going to look it up. Being a warrior is so much easier; I just want to slam the living daylights out of the mobs. I always take reaver because I like using the dragon-like claws to take life from the mobs. P.S. After reading, looks like either artificer or tempest. Anyone has recommendations? I do not intend to go assassin. Staying with the longbow. Before you make a decision, why not try out the specialties on your rogue companions? The "artificifer" is the specialty with traps -- that's Varric. The "tempest" is the specialty that utilizes tonics - that's Sera. Use the respec amulets to give them all their special powers at once so you can test them out before choosing for your PC. (I like Tempest better than Artificer for Archer, but then again, there's no reason why an archer couldn't be an "Assassin.") Cole is the "Assassin," but an archer can do that specialty too. I seem to remember doing that in DA2.

(Or is this just a case of some people being more "Lord of the Rings" while others are more "Star Wars/Star Trek"?) Yes, I want to play through all the background sequences first when I have the time, then, when I have another big chunk of time, try Awakening + DA2, because together they seem to form one large campaign.
Once again, I have tried DA first, and did not like it, but MET I fell for it so much that even the horrifying gameplay of the first campaign did not deter me (I've died multiple times before the prologue was over, before I figured it out). And, of course, I also played other games, though I did not like the non-BioWARE ones I've tried so far.
The reason I like ME, apart from the game being way more aesthetically (the outfits are hideous in DA) and lore-wise more interesting to me, is because it is easier for me to buy into those characters, they do not feel anachronistic, like the characters in DA (a medieval knight saying something like: We've just had sex!" etc) . MET largely dwells on the popular philosophical issues of the day, in an interesting casuistry where the player finds his or her own answers to those big questions.
What's awareness, what is a person? Can consciousness be cloned? Do we attribute personhood to the AI? Is it ethical to control population? What is racism? And what is virtuous life? The final choice in the MET is way more profound than in DA:O imo.
The dialogue flows better in MET, it is more alive and not stunted by a lot of 'let's pretend'. It feels more sincere overall, and the voicing....
Shepard is voiced and voiced by talented actors. Shepard has the magnitude of character that dwarves Warden. I had no real feelings for my Warden, but both of my Shepards...
I also like the old Paragon vs Renegade game, always did, and do not like the "let's pretend it does not exist" in DA, when it very clearly does. And... well, MET makes playing a Renegade feel natural and rational. Some decisions are hard to make, but once its done, it feels right for a consistent character. And dat voice...
I also found DA character characterization to be very cartoonish, one-dimensional where the companions went, and less imaginative than the MET companions, though granted, it's ME2 that was absolutely the best in that department.
From ME2 onward, MET is a joy to play for me. No micromanagement, an intuitive gameplay. DA:O is annoying, actually worse than BG2, where you could actually select the whole party, command it to stay put while the rogue scouted, etc.
The blend of the MP and SP in the MET is also awesome, and is available for $15, the whole thing (the most amazing deal out there tbh), while Inquisition alone cost you $20, and that's on sale.
And... Normandy. OMG, the Normandy!
On the whole, MET felt like a grown-up game that provoke thinking and featured the far reaching consequences, vs more of a young adult fiction of the DA:O. DA:O is very similar to SWTOR and to Bladur's gate/NWN2 series, while Mass Effect stands on its own, with its themes and dialogue. I was impressed.
Finally, the MET tale is told in a strong, compact way, so 40-60 hours of gameplay cover the whole thing, without having to invest 200 or so to do the complete run of the DA, switching the character every game.

Riya finally reached Skyhold after my fourth try completely without mods. There she hanged out with Iron Bull, made fun of Cassandra for reading romances and getting drunk with Iron Bull. After that she went to meet Hawke - and there, I encountetred a strange bug: I uploaded my mage Hawke who romanced Fenris and I got a mage Hawke in game who romanced Anders. I have no problem with Anders, but after some playthroughs with my other world stat (rogue Hawke, who romanced Anders), I wanted some new dialogue options, but obviously, the Keep decided differently. Well then, I have to hear about poor Anders and Cory messing with his mind again Here are some pics: Waiting for Hawke There she is Getting drunk with Iron Bull (I see a future romance there) Being drunk The Keep isn't full-proof unfortunately. In my current PT, Leliana remembers her lover, the HOF. (Did that.) But now that I have Morrigan after WEWH, she talks about being in the Crossroads "witht the man I love. (Have never done the DR!) BTW, your PC is very pretty! I love her "drunken" look!

Finally, the MET tale is told in a strong, compact way, so 40-60 hours of gameplay cover the whole thing, without having to invest 200 or so to do the complete run of the DA, switching the character every game. The DA2 is non-heroic, with some moral dilemmas.

Thank you - yeah, I like the drunken look too. Sadly, I was too slow for the last round, when she isn't really able to sit on the chair anymore, that was hilarious too Yes, I think, it must be the keep, because I checked and Fenris is definitely there as LI (he would probably not be amused, if Hawke cheats on him with Anders). Well, nothing I can do right now about it

Hmmm...before you do DA2, you may want to do the Dalish Elf origin.

The way you feel about ME, I feel about DA: I just love the games to pieces. I'd probably would feel the same for ME (which I like) too, but it has two problems for me: you have to play a soldier (I hate playing soldiers, it's so not me. I probably watched too much Doctor Who) and you get a world full of cool aliens and have to play a boring human - when I saw the first Turian (that spectre, who was supposed to train you, forgot his name), I was like 'I want to play that, why can't I play that?' and then along came the Asari and so many others. It was a bit frustrating. But you are right: ME has a great story and it reminds me a bit of my favorite SciFi show Babylon 5 (different races try to work out their problems on a big space station, humans are the youngest race and had a first contact war, lots of intrigues and mysteries... and John Sheridan or Susan Ivanova could be compared a bit with Shephard, I guess). ANd it has a storyline, that is more in touch with our modern problems (although those are adressed in DA2 and DAI more in dept too). It keeps ypu thinking, what would happen, if humans would really encounter alien civilisations, with not being able to make peace among their own. About voice acting: Maybe you would like the other DA games better then: they have very good voice acting for the protagonists. I love female Hawke and the british voice for the female inquisitor - it really helps to make the characters feel more real. After playing Hawke a few times (and I had a hard time with DA2 too, because of simiular reasons than ME: you have to play a boring human, but Hawke really did grow on me and maybe Shephard will too), I had some problems, connecting to the Warden again. Plus Warden is this big saving the world stuff, while Hawkes problems a bit more down to earth (well, as down to earth as you can be in a fantasy game ).

fylimar : I am not a fan of playing Humans, but I find that ME:MP abundantly satisfies my need to play other species from the ME verse. To be honest, I have never even liked certain species till I have played as one in MP, and then started looking for lore on them, like f.ex. Batarians. MP is a completely different mode of play, where I can switch from a character to character so easily, and pick and chose my favorites without the associated "packaged story".
But, tbh, after years of playing DnD based video-games, Elves and Dwarves are as "common" to me as Humans, particularly because DA does not really do anything new with those species.
The only thing that I saw in favor of Inquisition so far was that you can play a Quanary, the only non-standard race in the DA verse. I am looking forward to hearing Hawke, it would be very welcome after a mute Warden.

Quarians, Krogans, Turians (M! and F!), Salarians, Drell, Batarian, Vorcha, Volus and one species you have not seen yet. You can see the full list/pictures in the N7 HQ, under Inventory/Characters. The variety is by far higher than what you can do in DA. SWTOR still beats it...
Sorry about the derail!

Very nice write-up of the ME series! Better than many game reviews by professional journalists! I will definitely have to revisit the ME series when I'm finally DA'd out. The voiceless Grey Warden is definitely annoying even to many fans of Origins. How many voice actors would you have to employ for all the Origins? BW must have been thinking that each gamer would give the PC Grey Warden his/her voice. In 2017, the idea of not voicing does seem pretty dumb. DA2 has excellent voice acting by one male and one female performer. I'd say their performances are what keep DA2 popular despite problems with Act 3 of the game. DA Inquisition has 2 male and 2 female voice actors to voice the Inquisitor. The only complaint here (at least from me) is the lack of a Gaelic-sounding accent for the Dalish elf PCs. One thing you mentioned in passing - which I initially agreed with - is the use of overly modern slang in a pseudo-Medieval setting. Every now and then, I hear something I think should've been phrased differently. (The worst example I can think of is when Bianca asks Varric in Inquisition: "Is this your day-to-day?") But once a game strikes a chord with you, you willingly overlook the flaws. (This from someone who once found the game "Adventure" for the Atari 2600 entertaining!)

The journey of Warden Commander Drako Amell, The Hero of Ferelden: (DA:O, DA:A, and Witch hunt) The Chronicles of Tyros Hawke, Champion of Kirkwall: The Path of Inquisitor Mason Trevelyan, Herald of Andraste: The Journey continues, The time has come. They Lyrium arrived with the dawn. The Mages are prepared. Inquisition soldiers secure the path to the Breach and I lead the mages up the mountain. Once everyone is in position, I approach the Breach. With the Mages pouring all their power into the mark. The mark surges in my palm as I reach toward the Breach and release the marks power. I could feel the Breach resisting my attempts to close it, but with the Mages added power it collapsed. Though the sky was scared, the Breach was sealed. It took everything we had, but we did it. Tonight, we celebrate... after a long nap. Once the mages stopped funneling their mana into me, I felt like the life had been drained out of me... ...I awake to the sound of the people dance and sing. I stroll around the side paths of Haven. Some are calling what we did a miracle. An act of the Maker. No mention of the Mages nor magic in general by the common folk of Haven or Chantry brothers and sisters. There are grumbles from the Templars that if we had gone to the Order, they would have served just as well. Despite everything, mages are still outcasts. Figures... I sit by a Fire and try to listen to one of Varrics tales of the Champion, but my attention keeps turning towards the mark. It's still on my hand... Why?... The Breach is sealed, what is this thing?... I am about to turn in for the evening when I see a stream of torches coming over the hills. I assume it's just pilgrims coming to see for themselves that breach is gone, but the alarm sounds and Cullen comes running shouting a call to arms. The forward scouts report monstrous Templars with red lyrium coming out of them charging toward Haven. I join the Vanguard and together we hold off the first wave while the artillery geared up to cause an avalanche. A desperate act to try and slow them down, then suddenly a High Dragon came flying in. Nothing we had could fight off that thing. We retreat into the town. Then second wave arrives soon after we get the gates closed after letting in a boy running from the Templars. A boy who would later prove to be far more than he seemed... ...After fighting off the second wave and saving as many civilians as we could, we return to the chantry. The Elder One Alexius mentioned finally showed himself. He was far away, but he was clearly no human. A Darkspawn unlike any I had ever seen. We were not going to win this fight. An escape plan was made. I would distract the Elder One and his Dragon while the rest of our people made for a hidden path up the mountain. Once they were clear, assuming I survived long enough, I would use the last of our trebuchets to cause another avalanche and bury Haven. I was certain this plan would kill me even if I managed to survive the Elder One, his pet dragon, and his army, but it would buy the others time to escape and prevent pursuit... There are worse ways to go... ...It took some doing, but I managed to get the attention of the Elder One. His power seemed boundless. He was drawing power from an ancient Elven artifact of some kind. I had seen something like it in The Ostwick Circle library. Couldn't place it though. It held some sway over the mark on my hand. The Elder One called himself Corypheus, a Magister of old, and declared himself to be a god. He called the mark an "Anchor". He clearly was the one who attacked the Temple and created the Breach. Though I doubt the Breach is what he intended to create. Whatever this creature truly was, he was meddling with a power he did not understand nor could he fully control. His power was vast, but not his own. The signal went up indicating the others had made it beyond the tree line. While Corypheus babbled on in a typical despots monologue, I trigger the avalanche and ran for my life... ...I survived, but just barely. Whatever Corypheus did, it changed the mark somehow. I was now able to manipulate the veil in new ways. It felt more stable. Stronger even. Something I would have to investigate later. I slowly hobble my way up the mountain trying to follow the trail left by the towns folks. No sign of any Templars following. I nearly froze to death, but I found them. I passed out and spent the next couple of days drifting in and out of consciousness. What little time I was awake, I heard nothing but Cullen, Leliana, Cassandra, and Josephine yelling at one another. Everyone else was mostly silent and in obvious despair. When I had finally regained my strength, I had a talk with Solas. He said that the Orb Corypheus was using was indeed an Elven artifact from the time of Arlathan. Something he had seen in the memories of the fade. He clearly knew more than he was telling, but I did not press the issue. Now was not the time. He told me of a fortress hidden deep within the mountains. The people would not follow him there, but they would follow the Herald of Andreste... ...In the days to come, I scouted the hills and mountain passes until I found an old road. Partly over grown, but clearly visible. It lead to the fortress Solas had told me about. Skyhold. The place was huge. This is a proper base for the Inquisition. Even Corypheus would think twice about assaulting us here. There are repairs that need to be made. The fortress is ancient and weathered. Can't even begin to imagine what this place was originally used for. As our people were getting set up in Skyhold, I noticed Cassandra and the others whispering. Whispering that would stop when I came near. They were plotting something. A plot they would spring on me after only a couple of days of planning. They were simply waiting for a sword to be completed. They named me Inquisitor. I was afraid they would put me in charge. The people believe I was sent by Andreste because of the woman that was seen when I first stepped out of the fade. I saw a spirit. Whether it was Andreste or just a regular denizen of the fade, I don't know, but I certainly don't feel like a "Chosen One". What can you do, eh? They look at me and see hope. I couldn't refuse. So Inquisitor am I... and I'm a mage, what am I suppose to do with a broad sword? I need a drink... several actually...

I went with artificer. I'm familiar with Varric's spec, Cole not very much. Sera not at all because I never use her. At times, she's not even recruited. I'm familiar with traps as the GW2 ranger also have these; spikes, poison snakes, muddy ground, binding roots. I'm having fun with the elemental mines, especially with the sneaky assassins. Want to murder knife me and my mage pals eh? Come on ahead, you're going to get one big surprise. * I forgot to mention a funny. During the fight at Haven, I shot at one of those wiggling RTs that shoot out red lyrium, just as Cass chain grapple him. He flew off at least 20 metres away, still attached to the chain and then was reeled in like a fish.

I spent yesterday's game session taking Carathir Lavellan through In Hushed Whispers. I've never had a character arrive at the end of that quest so conflicted about what to do with the mages!
On the one hand: he disapproved strongly of their alliance with Tevinter and was not impressed with the mess they'd made of the rebellion. On the other: he did not believe that mages deserved to be locked up on principle, and if the Circles were restored then wouldn't the whole cycle just start again? He was also having a confusing day in general, what with the time travel and having just noticed he's in love with Cassandra Pentaghast. (He saw her die in the bad future and realized he had ~feelings~.)
In the end, it came down to not wanting to do what the stupid human Chantry said, so the mages are allied with the Inquisition. He went back to Haven and flirted with Cassandra some more, so I guess it all worked out in the end.

Part three of Alexandra's adventures continue and I saved this one for last. Skyhold was buzzing with chaotic activity during the early morning, which wasn't part of the normal routine. Word spread like wildfire that their fearless leader went missing. Leading to the three advisors and a few inner circle members gathered for an emergency meeting in the war room. "THE INQUISITOR DID WHAT?!?!!" Commander Cullen shouted glaring daggers at the trembling scout before him. "She... She rode off to Crestwood at first light... Something about a dragon.." the scout sputtered, keeping his eyes hidden under his hood. "You mean to say she's fighting that dragon alone?!" Cassandra exclaimed. The young man nodded. "HOLY SHIT!!! NOW THAT'S BADASS!!" the Iron Bull boomed with laughter. Varric shakes his head. "Should've seen this coming..." "But she could be killed!" Josephine cried, worry and anxiety etched on her refined features, "Do you realize how this will be looked upon by our allies? Not to mention the nobility and the faithful..." "Maker's breath... That woman...." Cullen grumbled as he rubbed his neck, while pacing back and forth around the war table like a caged lion, "We need to find the Inquisitor before... Before something happens!" Leliana, who was quietly observing the exchange, spoke up, "I already have Charter and some of my agents on the Inquisitor's whereabouts." "Bull, Varric and I will head down to Crestwood immediately," the lady Seeker stated as she strode to the door. "Wait! What?! You're bringing me to fight that dragon?!" the crossbow slinging dwarf whined. Cassandra shot him a dirty look. "Yes! Now MOVE!!!" Varric threw up his hands. "Shit!!" Bull was even more excited as he followed the two. "Can't wait to see the boss kick that dragon's ass! Drinks are on me when we get back!!" he rumbled. Meanwhile in Crestwood, it was a battle between two gladiators. The lady Inquisitor testing her might against the Northern Hunter high dragon. It was a long and tedious fight. The dragon on its last life, but still neither one giving in. Sweat trickled down Alex's face behind her Inquisitor's helm, keeping her eyes on the dragon's movements. Her muscles ached and parts of her armour were scorched. The air around the stone ruins hummed with electricity as the beast slowly circled its opponent. Its great wings spread wide and body poised, ready to strike. Alex gripped her sword tightly in one hand and with a loud cry, she charged at the dragon. Her tower shield raised to protect herself. The dragon saw the lady Inquisitor coming and swiped at her with a large claw, but Alex dodged the blow and thrusted her sword into its belly. Blood and gore gushed out and the great beast roared in agony before falling in defeat. The ground shaking under its weight. Alex dropped her weapons and fell to her knees breathing raggedly. Her weary eyes lifting to the dragon's corpse. I... I did it! The dragon is dead... It's dead..."There she is! The Inquisitor!" an Inquisition scout's voice called as a group of soldiers and other scouts lead by Charter approached the ruins. "Hey look! Did she...." a second scout voiced pointing at the dragon's dead body. "I can't believe it!" a soldier exclaimed with wide eyes. Charter slowly approached the lady Inquisitor. "Inquisitor, are you alright?" she asked. Alex chuckled under her breath and looked up at the senior agent. "More than alright..." Later, when Alex arrived at Caer Bronach, she was met with more active chatter and praise from the other Inquisition scouts and soldiers. Soon, all of Crestwood heard about the news. "The Inquisitor killed that dragon by herself!" "Oooohhhh!!!! So amazing!!" "Praise Andraste for keeping the Herald safe during that battle!" "INQUISITOR!!!" Cassandra's voice thundered. Alex cringed and turned to see the lady Seeker storming up to her. Bull and Varric following not too far behind. "Hey boss! Heard you took down that dragon!!" Bull laughed, "Also got yourself a souvenir!" He directed a thumb at the large dragon skull lying next to a tent. A few people were ogling over it. "Maker have mercy... What were you thinking?! Taking off from Skyhold without a word?!" Cassandra interrogated pointing a finger at the lady Inquisitor's chest plate, "You could've died in that fight!!" Alex cleared her throat. "And yet, I'm still here... Really Cassandra, it was part of becoming a Champion," she answered with a shrug. Cassandra blinked. Once. Twice. Then... "YOU!!!" she shrieked raising a fist on her leader, "ARE SO STUBBORN!!" She spun on her heel and stalked off muttering loud curses. Shoving past a large group of spectators. "Someone's jealous..." Varric snickered in a sing song voice. A chair was thrown at him and he ducked out of the way. Bull clapped Alex on the back. "Ah, forget her... Drinks are on me! Let's celebrate!" The lady Inquisitor gave a weak grin and let out a heavy sigh. She had a lot of explaining to do when they return to Skyhold. To be continued.... So, yeah... I solo fought a dragon for the first time. It was a pain in the butt, really. But keeping to this Inquisitor's story, she'll fight more enemies and dragons alone.
