]Do you have an old save from Skyhold that you could load? Maybe load it, disable all mods, then start Trespasser and see how it goes? Yep, I tried it. No go. I'm stopping this PT, I'm only getting very frustrated. When DA4 comes around, I'll be fixing the decision for it at DK. As I can see now, Trespasser will not work for me. I'll do a new PT with another elven Inq and avoid the influence incident. For all I know, that may have been the bug. There're also a few other things I think I can try to avoid. If the next PT also flunks at Trespasser, then I can say the DLC is officially closed off for me until I revert back to the vanilla game of zero mods for the entire PT. P.S. Oh yes, great news. The game is completely broken. I cannot start a new PT. Perma stuck in the Fade, 3 times in a row now, despite reboots, etc.

The problems Obsidian Gryphon describes are a thing that really annoy me about Bioware games. Why is it so damn difficult to mod the thing? There are only a few games that I have that I play without at least ten mods, but in the case of all the DA games it's just not very user friendly. I mean I have thousands of mods and downloads for The Sims 3 (yes, still playing that ^^) and it works just fine. Also you don't have to fiddle around with merging files with patches and all that crap, just throw the file into the mod-folder and you're good to go. And if you use a lot of custom content you can create subfolders and sort the files so you don't have to go looking through 11 GB of files to find the one that may cause an issue. Heck, in Elder Scrolls Morrowind you even got the creation tool for free and in the game menu you just ticked the boxes of those mods that you wanted to use. And this game is OLD. Very.
Okay, rant over.
I stopped playing DAI for the time being; when I have time I play Lego games atm (The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, to be precise). No mods required. (If you don't count cheat engine, that is.)

I guess I have a stubborn streak. I took a break and sat down again and said; f**** the mods. What I have been doing for the last several hours was trying to eliminate the culprits one by one. It's tedious as it means numerous forced shutdown and restarts. Over and over.
My thought was; repairing the game also rewrite the mods. As in reverting everything to vanilla. So I've been repairing and then modding in the elimination process. My last attempt was what I said to myself. F**K the mods. I'll just repair and play. I don't care I see that stupid PJ or running back and forth to empty inventory.
The fourth attempt of a new PT worked. And, I found the mods have remained intact. They were not washed out at all by the latest repair. I went back to the other PT and tried again. The first eluvian party selection worked immediately. The second stalled. I remembered one of the load attempt threw the Inq alone at the Crossroads so I tried to get that again. I got it and decided to just move along. Perhaps that stupid party selection will pop up as I got through the other eluvians. I was all ready to fight through that level alone but fortunately, the party showed up by magic as I went through the eluvian to the Qunari underground mines. I'm hoping the third entry will not be f**** up. If it is, I'll have to try the same trick. Btw, the mods are still there.

Just finished Here Lies the Abyss. This is officially the first time that Loghain has made it to the current endpoint of any of my world states alive! (In five he died after losing the dual, in one he was fed to the Archdemon and in my last playthrough he tanked the Nightmare for me.) I mean, I assume that a Weisshaupt-shaped anvil will fall on him and we'll never see him again, but still, it's further than he's ever got before.
Sacrificing Hawke is always tough, although this time wasn't as bad when I did it on my first run. For one thing, Varric wasn't with me this time to ask where she was. I am relieved that this is the last time I will ever have to do it unless I end up needing a tenth world state for some crazy reason. Hypothetical World State #9 is going to be the one where Alistair bites it, though, and that might be even worse.
In happier news, I finally got Cassandra's approval high enough to trigger Guilty Pleasures. I don't think anything has made Carathir Lavellan that happy since before the Temple blew up. And I should be able to actually start the romance now!

Okay finished all the backgrounds. Nice job! The two dwarven origins show you two radically different perspectives. I came out of dwarven noble wanting to kill little brother Behlen. After doing the dwarven commoner story and the city guards disdainfully call me "brand," you're willing to cut a deal with Behlen, however sleazy he is, in an effort to overthrow the system. As to human noble, your sister-in-law and nephew are murdered. You find them in one of the bedroooms, the room where you said goodbye to your brother, Fergus. Note, Fergus and his men left before the attack. Did your PC spend the night with Iona or Darien? I figured that they were killed, and if I cleared the whole floor, I'd find them. But I was following the flow of the floors, and the cutscenes. No, my character picked an option to talk with the guy later in private, but again, I was just following the story & did not come upon the guy. Well, she can save herself for Alistair that she'll never meet, heh. I started on Awakening. It feels low key, compared to even the main game, and extremely reminiscent of the NWN2 castle portion of the game. In fact, between recruiting the allies in the Origins, and now fortifying the castle, it really reminds me of the NWN2. I absolutely despise all the locked out specialization. If there is anything I hate in video games, it's not giving a character access to all the skills as appropriate, and locking it away behind quests. Ye gods. Hopefully, BioWare does not do it in Andromeda. At present, most of my companions do not have second spec picked, because I want to try something different. So silly to lock it away.... what a pita. Companions wise, Anders looks and talks like he is the old King Marek's third son. It was almost eerie to see him next to Alistair when His Grace dropped by. I suppose BioWare hit on the male companion archetype that players like, so they keep churning the same type out in every game. Well, he is good enough romance for DA2, I suppose, though not as cool as Alistair. But I like Nathaniel well enough. And it's not like Oghren grew any depth since DA:O. The joke was funny with him emptying that cup, I guess that's why they added him in. So, anyways, running small sidequests that come in droves, waiting for the passage to the Deep Roads to get cleared to proceed with the plot. Meh so far. I could imagine the male players' frustration when the only female companion died.

I could imagine the male players' frustration when the only female companion died. On the positive side, once you unlock specialization, they should be available almost immediately in subsequent PTs. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong) At least that's my situation playing on PC. I don't have to unlock all the specializations again on subsequent PTs. Yeah, the first time I saw Anders in Awakening, I thought: "Who's this? Alistair in drag?" (While I like Origins-style mage robes better than some of the weird mage outfits you see in Inquisition, all the Tevinter outfits struck me as being feminine even in their male versions.) He does look more distinct in DA2. Generally speaking, Awakening has a decent story. Sadly, no romance for the PC, though you can help Oghren with his relationship if you so desire. The rune-crafting in Awakening is insane. (Try it once just to see how stupid it is, then share a big laugh with other gamers at the boards! ) Doing Awakening does help give you a smoother transition to DA2.

Thank you! Yes, I know there are no romances & it is a story tie into DA2, and I am fine with both. And, erm, I have to apologize for my spell-checker. Apparently it has a mind of its own, mangling my posts really badly. I will try to read more carefully what it actually ended up saying before posting. Yakes.

A quick rundown of the last few days... The letters from smugglers Katriel discovered in the Emerald Graves revealed that the Red Templars were harvesting Red Lyrium in an isolated mining town called Sahrnia in the Emprise de Leon in Orlais. With the empire torn by a bloody civil war, isolated areas like Sahrnia went unmonitored by Imperial Justice making them ideal for criminal operations. Upon arriving in Sahrnia, Katriel finds Sahrnia literally a ruin with its isolation further reinforced by the freezing over of the river. (Dark magic at work, perhaps?) The beleaguered mayor reports that hard times came to the area with the civil war, forcing her to close down the mine for lack of business. Then Templars came to the area and bought the mine off of her, supposedly to reopen it and create jobs for the locals. Then those working the quarry began to disappear without explanation. And the Templars began pressuring the mayor for more villagers which she was forced to provide in exchange for food for the remaining villagers. As they left the village, they ran into a chevalier named Michel de Chevin who was battling demons. He said his purpose was to defend the village from demons and to seek out a powerful demon named Imshael who was engaged in nefarious activities with the Red Templars in Suledin Keep.
Katriel and companions moved through the area between the village and the quarry, clearing out Red Templar encampments and destroying Red Lyrium deposits that appeared to be growing everywhere. They then raided the quarry killing a large number of Templars and freeing villagers who reported that the Red Templars intended to use them to grow red lyrium. (Suddenly, Varric's incredible story about Knight Commander Meredith using Red Lyrium and then turning into a statue finally made sense!) They also uncovered letters from Samson, indicating that he was directing the operation and was creating a special strong armor for himself so he could be a host for Corypheus.
Katriel then went to Suledin Keep. After killing numerous Red Templars and giants infected with Red Lyrium, they came face to face with Imshael, a "choice spirit." Initially, he appeared in human form, but when attacked, showed him self capable of shapeshifting into any type of malevolent demon. After a long fight, they finally slayed Imshael and claimed yet another keep.
Katriel also began operations in the Deep Roads after receiving news that dwarven lyrium mines were being threatened by seemingly unnatural tremors and earthquakes. Katriel begins investigating, fearing that this might be yet another area where Corypheus is wielding his malign influence. (I don't intend to do this DLc all at once but instead, periodically clear a floor than return to the surface to work other areas.)
Gamer Note: For this PT, my second in a row as an elven mage romancing Solas, I wanted to do a couple of things differently. First, I decided to do Descent and JOH before killing Cory so I could see Solas' reactions to the two areas. Second, I'm strongly pondering sacrificing the Chargers to save the Qunari Alliance. I've heard it strongly impacts IB in Trespasser so I figure I should give that a try.
Next stop, one of the side operations. Perhaps the Maddox operation?

Last night, while playing DAI, Alex travelled to the Emerald Graves with Cassandra, Dorian and Sera. They helped Fairbanks save his people from the Freemen and Red Templars, then secured the area under the Inquisition's protection. Fairbanks was hired as an agent later.
While further exploring the Graves and sealing fade rifts, Alex and her party encountered a lot of grouchy looking great bears. No worries, the amount of pelts they got were useful for armour.
Next, they came to Chateau d'Onterre. A haunted looking mansion with whispers of restless spirits roaming about. The lady Inquisitor was about to go through the gates, but Sera tugged on her arm. "No no no! We are NOT going in there!" she panicked.
Alex glanced at the archer with a raised brow. "Sera, we've fought demons, undead, darkspawn and Red Templars. A deserted estate isn't that scary," she answered.
"Well, we did go through a few abandoned ruins during our last outing," Dorian piped up.
Sera shot the mage a dirty look. "You're not helping!" she argued then turned back to Alex. "Let's go somewhere else! There's a dragon around here! We did see it, yeah?"
The lady Inquisitor's expression brightened for a moment, hearing about a dragon. But then she shook her head. "Maybe later." She brushed past her companion and entered the gates.
"Wait! What?!" Sera gawked.
Dorian shook his head as he entered next. "It seems our illustrious leader has the final say," he quipped.
Sera blew a raspberry. "I hate you, Inky! You too, Dorian!" she called out.
Cassandra was the last to follow when Sera latched onto her. "What are you doing?!" she yelped with a startled look.
"Cassandra! Seekers go first!" the archer pleaded, "You'll stand in front of me, yeah?"
The lady Seeker sighed exasperatedly. This was going to be a long and tedious quest.
To be continued...

Not a gameplay related post but... I drew these today! Solas and Flemeth (I'm a beginner so please be kind ) I still need to make adjustments to them but I'm having a break and coming back to them in a couple of days. Flemeth was hard because her face is at an angle and is older. I'm still learning but I'm having fun with it

Hmmm....did you remove your hair mods? Any mods of Inquisition finery? For me, the finery mod blocked Trespasser until I deactivated it. It doesn't seem to make any difference when I revert formal clothing back to default. There are two clothing changes I used; default armor in prologue that is retextured. Medium Inq scout armor used for Skyhold and formal wear when at the Winter Palace.

P.S. Oh yes, great news. The game is completely broken. I cannot start a new PT. Perma stuck in the Fade, 3 times in a row now, despite reboots, etc. Glad you finally bullied it into working for you. The only time I've had the problem above was when I forgot to remove the framerate fix command line. I had to remake my male elf mage 3x before I remembered!
Your troubles remind me of the awful time I had when I first installed Descent and its accompanying patch. The game slowed to a crawl, I couldn't fast-travel back to Skyhold - bizarre stuff. I don't remember what I did to get it working but I'm pretty sure a game repair or two was involved. Also - lots of swearing.

The journey of Warden Commander Drako Amell, The Hero of Ferelden: (DA:O, DA:A, and Witch hunt) The Chronicles of Tyros Hawke, Champion of Kirkwall: The Path of Inquisitor Mason Trevelyan, Herald of Andraste: The Journey continues, Went to talk to Cassandra this morning. She was hitting the training dummies particularly hard. Something was bothering her. She's lost all contact with her fellow Seekers. Even the Lord Seeker hasn't been heard from for over two weeks. They were not among the Red Templars that attacked Haven. I had Leliana redirect a couple of her agents to investigate the matter. The only thing they turned up was rumors about a Ferelden Bann and "odd Templars". It was thin, but it's the best we had. When I informed Cassandra she grabbed her sword and shield and started towards the main gate. Had to stop her from heading off on her own. If Seekers are going missing, I've no intention of losing mine. Can't send our soldiers. If the rumors are wrong, that would send entirely the wrong message. A small strike team with me and Cassandra at the head can be disguised as just the Herald going to meet the a devote Andrastian noble. I call on Varric and Vivinne then we go... ...When we arrive, the place almost looks empty. Despite there being plenty of trees and bushes, there isn't a single chirp of a bird or insect. It's quiet. That creepy, something is hiding around the corner, quiet. We slowly make our way inside and find the place to be crawling with Red Templars. Seems the rumors were true after all. Vivinne's Knight Enchanter abilities are particularly useful in these close quarters. As we move through the mansion we find the bodies of a couple Seekers and one young man near death. Cassandra knew him. He was her understudy. He told us that the Lord Seeker himself was behind all this. Killing off his own order one by one. Hard to believe even for me. The young man then complained of something inside him. A demon he said, but he was not possessed. I would have sensed it. This was... something else. What exactly it was, I have no idea, but we couldn't simply leave him to be torn apart from the inside. Cassandra gave him a quick death. Most would have been sad after such an action, but she was...well... pissed. More determined than ever... ...Up and up we go, carving our way through Red Templars until we finally find the bastard responsible. Lord Seeker Lucius. He had a monologue ready. They always do. The man was barking mad. Talking about ending the world. Too much crazy. He had to die and considering the look in Cassandra's eyes, I assumed he would die screaming. The Seekers were family and he killed them. The one thing the Lord Seeker was not going to get was mercy. The fight was far easier than I had thought it would be. For one calling himself a "Lord" he went down pretty quick. This had all been overwhelming for Cassandra, so we left. I would have Cullen send some men to collect the remains of the Seekers that died there. They, minus Lucius. deserved a soldiers pyre... ...After the Seekers had been given a proper funeral, we returned to Skyhold. I left Cassandra alone for a while before going to check on her. She found a book she on the Lord Seeker's body. A book passed down from Lord Seeker to Lord Seeker containing the order's secrets. Secrets that have left Cassandra... shaken. As much as I wanted to, I knew I couldn't fix this. All I could do was listen. I did what I could to reassure her. Not really the time, but I even flirted with her a bit. Got her to smile. It's not much, but there was less despair in her voice and a glint of hope. I'll take it... ...Spent the last few days reading Leliana's reports from her agents on the Western Approach. There are sightings of Wardens and Venatori in the area. Harding is having some trouble with the local wild life and sand storms. My mind is filled with "what could be" and how to stop "what won't be". Decided to walk the grounds to clear my head. While checking on some of the repairs to the main hall, Cassandra pulled me aside. Didn't say anything, just gestured. Seemed odd. She was flustered and nervous. Two words I don't normally associate with her. She had decided to confront me about my flirting with her. I wasn't exactly being subtle about it, but she clearly had something to say on the matter. The entire conversation was... confusing... She insisted there was no way to engage in a courtship because of our respective positions. Sounded like excuses to me. Then the confusing part, she told me how she wanted to be courted. Strangely specific too. I wasn't sure if she was trying to discourage me or encourage me. I doubt she knew exactly what she was doing. After her little rant, I had a plan and set out to set things up... ...Takes a couple days for the timing to be right, but I get Cassandra to meet me in a small grove just outside Skyhold. Candles, flowers, and even poetry. I hate poetry, but this display is for her. Not me. I recite a poem as best I can, but this is not exactly "my field" here. The reading falls flat, but the over all gesture lands quite well... No more excuses... Can't decide if this is fate, luck, or sheer madness. And tonight... I really don't give a damn.

So, there we be, my elfy elf, Ghi'ral, and his girlfriend, Cassandra Pentaghast walking into the Temple of Mythal. She's a devout lass, we believe different things, but I think we can work with our differences.
And then she asks "How can he elves devote themselves to such nonsense?"
This sentence echoes in my ears all the way up till the Well of Sorrows.
And I'm sorry to say it, but Ghi'ral wants to break up with Cass.
And the only way to do it now is make her Divine and let her break it off with ne. Unfortunately, probably unlikely to happen.
Guess I'll have to head canon a break up. .But seriously, Cass. That hurt

We're as tenacious as our heroes of DA aren't we? Good news btw. Successful transition at third pass into Crossroads. From what I understand from my previous struggles, repairing the game will not remove the mods but smoothed them into the game. That's what I figure because I noticed one difference. My previous method; repair, install mods effected a very long loading time each time the party transit to other maps. Very much longer than usual in a vanilla PT. Present method; install mods, repair. Loading time during map transition is close to normal. * By the by, I really want to smack Teagan really hard. I wish he had met Mythal / Flemeth, she'll cut him down to size and into ribbons. I know what he'll scream and rant about once he knows ancient elves would once more be afoot and that they're more terrifying than he can possibly imagine. Blame it on the Elves! I'd bet he'll bitch, stomp his foot and whine and run to hide when the world fall apart once more. Btw, I didn't bother to answer his demand for reparations to Redcliffe because the Inquisition were supposedly in charge of the mages when in fact his own King dumped them on his estate. P.S. You know what? I want Solas to succeed. Tear down the Veil, I say. Let Thedas know what had been, what their ancestors had built upon, face their fear, face the truth. Live or die? It's up to them. I think the PT has gone a bit awry. I remember talking to everyone after each return from the Crossroads. Dorian is supposed to say he received a letter etc, etc, and so on but nothing! All of them made small talk. Now I'm on the last fight, maybe? I can't remember. I hope it's not but I've a sinking feeling it is. If it is, this PT is missing the Dorian segment. I think the game is failing to register that entry / return from Crossroads, hence, cutscenes that're supposed to appear, do not. The fourth entry to Xroads failed again but I used that same trick once more. Dorian's segment is the other important node. I hope that the decision on whether he gives the crystal to the Inq is in DAK so I can adjust it (I haven't check up on the DAI part). Since the fourth and final mirror has passed, I hope to get the final dialogue.

Ghi'ral Lavellan, beloved of Cassandra, has finished the base game at level 16. I will not be doing any DLC except Trespasser with him. I do believe I finished base game at 63 hours. Originally, I was going to do a pretty thorough PT, but then realized I didn't love him enough to spend that much time with him I played on Hard, with even ground and half XP trials. He specialized Knight Enchanter, which I think is the easiest of the three. I'm terrible at speccing DAI mages correctly. I played the entire base game with Cass, Varric, and Cole. I didn't seem to get very much Cole/Varric banter. Did get a lot of Cole/Cass banter, pretty much they talked about his killing the Lord Seeker. Ghi'ral was good friends with everyone but Madame De Fer. Ghi'ral got his furniture moved, a first for me. After that, I thought it'd just be weird if I did her side quests and she turned into "Oh, I hope you're sleeping well, dah'ling," so we didn't do hers at all. My interactions reminded me of someone else's complaint. The writers wrote her to always win the argument, even if she's totally wrong. I especially liked interacting with Solas as a respectful Dalish who believed in his people. Solas picked up on that and commented on it in a very admiral way I found personally attractive. If anyone had asked Ghi'ral what his beliefs now were after going to the Temple of Mythal (which no one did) he would say, "I believe in the People. It changes nothing." There was no Qunari Alliance and Thom is joining the Wardens. THE DEcisions: He allied with the mages. He allied with the Wardens. He got Celene and Briala back together. Not exactly for my usual reason. Briala puppeting Gaspard may have been less..."interference" I suppose regarding her attempts to improve things for elves. But if things for Elves were to improve the proper way, elves needed to be seen as equals asserting their independence OUTSIDE of the shadows. I managed to keep my clan alive, so now there is an Elven Council, and Elven Quiz, and an Elven Ambassador. In a world state where there was an Elven Warden who became Teryna of Gwaren. Getting pretty elfy up in Thedas. He drank from the Well of Sorrows. It was his heritage, 'nuff said. Softened Leliana to help that whole Elven Life Improvement thing.
Ending slides were that a "spying" type of Inquisition helped support Empress Celene and Divine Leliana with their duties. Fiona created the College of Enchanters and Viv has her eye on making it unhappy. The Wardens are rebuilding. Other new things: In a world with no Keiran, Morrigan wasn't quite as neat. I like mama Morrigan. And the Scene where you get the Dragon and have the big talk with Flemythal got spliced together, interesting that. A thing I noticed: as a male Lavellan who has not been told anything about his tattoo being a slave marking, it was really weird for Cory to yell it at me during the end game battle. Would have had NO IDEA what he was talking about if it'd been my first PT. Would have been a nice lil emotional slap for a Solasmance. Cory also didn't try to rag on Varric. I only heard him rag on Cass and then try to "turn" Cole.
Negatives: not romancing Blackwall got me the cringe torture dog story.
Taking Cass to the Temple of Mythal was a bad idea for our relationship. Just in general, I was noticing her being kinda...negative about all of my favorite companions. Favorites being Cole, Sera, Dorian, and she hates on em each one. Which I'd noticed my last PT, but since I was dating her this go round, it seemed more obvious since I was paying closer attention. And I didn't like dating her AND not supporting her ideas about being Divine. I kinda think being an elfy elf dating her takes some head canon personal talks that require confrontation off screen. She has the best repeatable kiss scene I've tried so far. "Courting her" was cute. The balcony scene fell flat for me, but the Temple of Mythall thing was still on my mind as a bit of a bad taste, so maybe that's why. Kinda bummed that Cass got the same "gazing proudly from afar" that Blackwall does. I guess all LIs that aren't advisors do that?
Whelp. Trespasser is planned this week, I guess I'll see the romance to the end even though I think I kinda picked poorly. Proud Dalish and Cass + Temple of Mythal was a bad mix.

I didn't get the Dorian talking to Inq in the epilogue. Not my fault, the stupid cutscene just never appear. Glitchy PT. I felt that cutscene should have appeared as the first eluvian passage was a success. There was no glitch. I checked DAK, my elven Inq isn't even in there. And it's hard to tell which PT has Trespasser completed. I've got close to 40 PTs in there. Some of which are not even PTs but failed to launch (char stuck in Fade). For some reason, the program registered the failed char....and then failed to register my elven Inq. Really!I loaded one that says current PT which is apparently wrong as it's a human Inq and there's no Trespasser section. I hope they update the DAK when DA4 is confirmed / announced / going to launch. * The last fight was crazy. Frantic running about and throwing mines everywhere and remembering to discharge the Mark. Sometimes I forget to keep an eye on it and then I'll see the Inq float into the air at the wrong moment. Baboom! Worst when companions are close and everybody is injured. I'm also annoyed how sometimes the mines bounced off somebody's back and then everything flew away into the air. I got the final dialogue and did not choose to break hearts with Solas. I winced at the painful cries; wow, Sumalee Montano is more vocal as an elven Inq than Alix Wilton Regan as a human Inq. Solas, how can you stand it? The kiss was bittersweet and very sad. Will there be a moderately good ending? Well I can hope. I chose to disband. Freck it, the moment Solas said "my spies tripping over Qunari spies", ok that settles it. I really want Solas to remove the Veil. I want to see the return of the ancient elven mages. I enjoyed the elven PT, hiccups aside and the less than ideal immersion breaking dialogues. I hope the next PT Trespasser is better but I'm really not holding any hopes for it. I think for that one, I'll remove all the mods first and then repair the game before starting the DLC.

Mara closed the Breach and with clear skies over Haven we decided to have a party! There were some rude gate crashers... After a quick jaunt through the snow, followed by some arguing and singing I found myself the proud owner of a new castle! They still won't let me have that sword back, though... Good times - I love In Your Heart Shall Burn...

Blackmarshes turned out to be a surprisingly charming dungeon crawl. Really enjoyed it... actually still playing through it (it is a crawl after all), but after getting Justice it sort of turned anticlimactic with a blatant third reuse of the area and repetitive sameness of too many spawns. I guess, after I squash enough portals, I will get to fight baroness, or something. eventually. Can't wait to be honest.
Awakening has extremely functional party. Between two mages, Nathaniel and Justice, and the copious amount of gear, there is no suffering like in the first game. But, I gave up, and looked up where I can get the Blood Mage spec, so, yeah, once the Marshes come to whatever end, I'm going to get it for both of my mages. Their builds are really eerie similar, but they are efficient together.

That hurt Interesting; if you're in a relationship with Sera, they force you to confront the issue head on. Sera believes it's all nonsense with demons. If you say you believe, that breaks up the relationship. I'm surprised they didn't do the same for an elf-Cass relationship. I would say it is even more critical with elves involved with Cass. You can also head canon that the relationship continues albeit lukewarm. Also, keep in mind what's still ahead. If Cass is with you when you meet Ameridan, it is humbling for her. And keep in mind what Inky finds out in Trespasser. Perhaps she'll make up for it then...

You have the real Blackmarshes where you find ruins and have to fight werewolves and other critters....and areas which you can't pass through because of tears in the Veil. Then you have the Blackmarshes in the Fade where you see the village with villagers and the Baroness. Note that outside the Fade village, you have to clear all those altars of demons so that those areas will become passable again in the real world. If you don't, then they will remain impassable in the real world. Regarding the Baroness, once you are all sent back to the real world from the Fade....have you gotten to that point yet?

Yes, I am doing the third sweep of the same area, now with Fade Portals and Revenants instead of the werewolves. I assume it eventually will lead to the boss fight with Baroness, since Justice force-joined the party under that pretext. And no merchant in the area either.
