I'm trying to remember the Blackmarshes... You have the real Blackmarshes where you find ruins and have to fight werewolves and other critters....and areas which you can't pass through because of tears in the Veil. Then you have the Blackmarshes in the Fade where you see the village with villagers and the Baroness. Note that outside the Fade village, you have to clear all those altars of demons so that those areas will become passable again in the real world. If you don't, then they will remain impassable in the real world. Regarding the Baroness, once you are all sent back to the real world from the Fade....have you gotten to that point yet? Yes, I am doing the third sweep of the same area, now with Fade Portals and Revenants instead of the werewolves. I assume it eventually will lead to the boss fight with Baroness, since Justice force-joined the party under that pretext. And no merchant in the area either. Hmmm.... The boss fight with the Baroness will be at the ruined village. Look for her there...
If you cleared all the demon areas in the Fade, go to their counterparts in the real world for some loot. Also, areas near village are opened up for looting. (Certain gates near dock no longer locked?)
I don't think you have to do the portal fights first before the Baroness, but I'm not sure.

I still need to finish the sweep to make sure I cleared off all the sidequest stuff, with the clues, and the sword, and whatever else in the area. Wish they had an undead merchant or something. It is annoying to destroy stuff when you are short on gold.

So, there we be, my elfy elf, Ghi'ral, and his girlfriend, Cassandra Pentaghast walking into the Temple of Mythal. She's a devout lass, we believe different things, but I think we can work with our differences. And then she asks "How can he elves devote themselves to such nonsense?" This sentence echoes in my ears all the way up till the Well of Sorrows. And I'm sorry to say it, but Ghi'ral wants to break up with Cass. And the only way to do it now is make her Divine and let her break it off with ne. Unfortunately, probably unlikely to happen. Guess I'll have to head canon a break up. .But seriously, Cass. That hurt I like Cassandra, but she really faithful Andrastian. Probably this will not change. If they can't accept their religion problems (or rather faith problems), the long-term relationship excluded – the love can't conquers everything.

And the only way to do it now is make her Divine and let her break it off with ne. Unfortunately, probably unlikely to happen. Guess I'll have to head canon a break up. .But seriously, Cass. That hurt Interesting; if you're in a relationship with Sera, they force you to confront the issue head on. Sera believes it's all nonsense with demons. If you say you believe, that breaks up the relationship. I'm surprised they didn't do the same for an elf-Cass relationship. I would say it is even more critical with elves involved with Cass. You can also head canon that the relationship continues albeit lukewarm. Also, keep in mind what's still ahead. If Cass is with you when you meet Ameridan, it is humbling for her. And keep in mind what Inky finds out in Trespasser. Perhaps she'll make up for it then... What's good, but nevertheless, odd, is that she straight up says she knows you don't believe in the Maker twice during two different love talks. Once during the sex scene and right there at the end party. And other than that insensitive/odd comment about making room for more gods at the very start at Haven, she never ever tries to convert you or deconvert you. Maybe it was just a banter vs actual conversation disconnect but it doesn't suffer from being an Ill timed banter (like Cass asking Varric about joining Inquisition right before Arbor Wilds) because one can't do the Temple till end game and it's the only place that banter happens. So, yeah. Hmm. I hadn't thought I'd do Descent and Hakkon because I don't think LIs really say anything about the findings in game to the Inquisitor directly. I brought her, non romanced, the last time I played Hakkon so I was just going to pretend like we had done it and she knows come Trespasser since I already know her reactions.

Ghi'ral Lavellan, beloved of Cassandra, has finished the base game at level 16. I will not be doing any DLC except Trespasser with him. I do believe I finished base game at 63 hours. Originally, I was going to do a pretty thorough PT, but then realized I didn't love him enough to spend that much time with him I played on Hard, with even ground and half XP trials. He specialized Knight Enchanter, which I think is the easiest of the three. I'm terrible at speccing DAI mages correctly. I played the entire base game with Cass, Varric, and Cole. I didn't seem to get very much Cole/Varric banter. Did get a lot of Cole/Cass banter, pretty much they talked about his killing the Lord Seeker. Ghi'ral was good friends with everyone but Madame De Fer. Ghi'ral got his furniture moved, a first for me. After that, I thought it'd just be weird if I did her side quests and she turned into "Oh, I hope you're sleeping well, dah'ling," so we didn't do hers at all. My interactions reminded me of someone else's complaint. The writers wrote her to always win the argument, even if she's totally wrong. I especially liked interacting with Solas as a respectful Dalish who believed in his people. Solas picked up on that and commented on it in a very admiral way I found personally attractive. If anyone had asked Ghi'ral what his beliefs now were after going to the Temple of Mythal (which no one did) he would say, "I believe in the People. It changes nothing." There was no Qunari Alliance and Thom is joining the Wardens. THE DEcisions: He allied with the mages. He allied with the Wardens. He got Celene and Briala back together. Not exactly for my usual reason. Briala puppeting Gaspard may have been less..."interference" I suppose regarding her attempts to improve things for elves. But if things for Elves were to improve the proper way, elves needed to be seen as equals asserting their independence OUTSIDE of the shadows. I managed to keep my clan alive, so now there is an Elven Council, and Elven Quiz, and an Elven Ambassador. In a world state where there was an Elven Warden who became Teryna of Gwaren. Getting pretty elfy up in Thedas. He drank from the Well of Sorrows. It was his heritage, 'nuff said. Softened Leliana to help that whole Elven Life Improvement thing.
Ending slides were that a "spying" type of Inquisition helped support Empress Celene and Divine Leliana with their duties. Fiona created the College of Enchanters and Viv has her eye on making it unhappy. The Wardens are rebuilding. Other new things: In a world with no Keiran, Morrigan wasn't quite as neat. I like mama Morrigan. And the Scene where you get the Dragon and have the big talk with Flemythal got spliced together, interesting that. A thing I noticed: as a male Lavellan who has not been told anything about his tattoo being a slave marking, it was really weird for Cory to yell it at me during the end game battle. Would have had NO IDEA what he was talking about if it'd been my first PT. Would have been a nice lil emotional slap for a Solasmance. Cory also didn't try to rag on Varric. I only heard him rag on Cass and then try to "turn" Cole.
Negatives: not romancing Blackwall got me the cringe torture dog story.
Taking Cass to the Temple of Mythal was a bad idea for our relationship. Just in general, I was noticing her being kinda...negative about all of my favorite companions. Favorites being Cole, Sera, Dorian, and she hates on em each one. Which I'd noticed my last PT, but since I was dating her this go round, it seemed more obvious since I was paying closer attention. And I didn't like dating her AND not supporting her ideas about being Divine. I kinda think being an elfy elf dating her takes some head canon personal talks that require confrontation off screen. She has the best repeatable kiss scene I've tried so far. "Courting her" was cute. The balcony scene fell flat for me, but the Temple of Mythall thing was still on my mind as a bit of a bad taste, so maybe that's why. Kinda bummed that Cass got the same "gazing proudly from afar" that Blackwall does. I guess all LIs that aren't advisors do that?
Whelp. Trespasser is planned this week, (1) I guess I'll see the romance to the end even though I think I kinda picked poorly. Proud Dalish and Cass + Temple of Mythal was a bad mix. It's a pity you didn't do JOH with your PC & Cass. That might've made her respectful of elven gods and culture. Someone really should make a spreadsheet/table or something to show what combination of companions leads to the most interesting banter in particular locations. With Cole, I've been trying to take him to places where his spirit side will give him special insights -- Temple of Dumat, Chateau d'Onterre, etc. -- and so far, it's been disappointing. I frequently take Solas when I take Cole to see if that helps; it doesn't seem to make a difference. Oh well... (1) Worse than Cass + Dalish elf is Sera + Dalish elf! Sera is ridiculously maintenance heavy! And don't you dare disagree with her! Regarding the elven slave markings, did Cory mention that at all in the Fade? If he had, Solas might've set the truth out.

I continued Alex's run last night and she was a very busy lady. The last we heard, she, Dorian, Cassandra and Sera explored the haunted estate, Chateau d'Onterre. Sera hated the place, especially. She hid behind Cassandra the entire time and shrieked whenever the lights turned on by themselves. The creepy sound of restless spirits and finding torn pages of a little girl's diary didn't help either. When Alex retrieved pieces of a map in different parts of the mansion, that was when things got interesting. Undead were roaming about and the spirit of the girl turned into an arcane horror. Our heroine and her party took down the horrors, and the mansion finally settled down. After leaving the estate, the foursome went on to seal the remaining fade rifts; battle straggling Red Templars; and take down the Greater Minstral high dragon. The annoying part were Dorian and Sera kept getting knocked out during these fights. Even hearing a couple companions' shouts, "Help Dorian!" and "Sera's down!" were tiresome. They needed to have their abilities redone. Returning to Skyhold, Alex helped Josephine with her family's financial problems by raising the du Parraquettes into nobility status. It wasn't an easy task, because there were a few assassins that were after the Ambassador's life. The lady Inquisitor, however, saved her on two separate occasions. Much to Josie's gratitude. Following that, Alex and Leliana worked together in uncovering Calpernia and Corypheus' schemes. It lead the lady Inquisitor to explore the Shrine of Dumat, where she discovered Calpernia's former master, Erasthenes, imprisoned behind a containment field. Erasthenes was forced to answer Alex's inquiries. However, the most interesting information learned was while Calpernia wanted to rebuild Tevinter, Corypheus planned to use her like a controlled weapon. The old magister begged Alex to release him, but Alex denied his plea. "You're too useful to kill. I'll have Leliana and my agents question you further," she stated leaving him behind. Next, as if slaying one high dragon for a day wasn't enough, Alex ventured into the Storm Coast to challenge the Visominer. Cassandra and Bull were eager to tag along, but Varric surprisingly joined in on the fun. The dwarf hadn't seen much action, so that was one thing. The other was Alex wanted to see how he and his crossbow, Bianca, handled themselves in a fight. Well, Varric exceeded her expectations during this dragon battle. He fearlessly set off traps, scattered elemental mine bombs and rained a hail of arrows. It was an explosive light show for all to see! The dragon easily went down without a hitch. To finish things off, Alex travelled to Emprise du Lion with Cassandra, Varric and Dorian. Having Varric in the party instead of Sera made enemy fights more exciting. They easily dished out groups of Red Templars, who were occupying camps around the area, and rescued Sarhnia's villagers in the quarry. Then they stormed Suledin keep, taking down the main Red Templar stronghold and a desire demon called Imshael. Once the fortress was secured for the Inquisition, Alex recruited former chevalier, Michel de Chevin, as an agent. She also had her guards arrest Mistress Poulin, who was responsible for assisting the Red Templars. Before leaving Emprise, Alex made a mental note to return. There was still a lot to be done in this ravaged area. To be continued... Just a few notes, I took control of Varric during the Visominer dragon battle and while in Emprise du Lion. The AI handled Alex without a problem, because at level 20, she's like a brick wall. Also, I followed this BUILD: Rogue Archer Artificer - all stages for Varric. Kudos to PapaCharlie9 for this guide.

I don't recall her being any more accepting of other religions when I played Trespasser as a Trev but then again, she was Divine that play through. AND I wasn't romancing her then. But if she actually does carry the knowledge into Trespasser enough to mention it in conversation in with my romancing Ghi'ral, I'd totally do a run through it with her for that. I just wanted to save repeating the DLC for my completionist run throughs where I'm loving the character more as well as in a romance with someone I extra like (like Cullen.) But if it'll actually affect the Cassmance, I'll run through Hakkon for it.

My warrior Adaar killed a dragon, then killed a red lyrium dragon, then fucked up Corypheus. Bull gave the best pep talk when he said not to worry about the fight because "we're really good at killing things" or smth. Said hasta la pasta to Solas and helped Sera push our bed off the balcony. Sera and Herah are heroes. Onto the next playthrough!

Currently, for example, if I take Iron Bull out, I have to deactivate his Reaver powers for the AI because the AI doesn't use them in the proper sequence.

No, nothing worth doing again....especially not with a PC you're not overly enthused about. When Cass became a Seeker, she was touched by the Spirit of Faith: the Andrastian Faith. Lessons learned: Cass is best romanced by Andrastian human PC followed by Andrastian converts of other races; Dalish women should avoid Sera (unless they wish to hit her). Good advise. I like Sera, but I would never dream of romancing her with my dalish characters. I think, my dwarf will be happy with her. I never thought that Cass would be so mean. After all, she never said anything against your believes when you playing a non-andrastian, but then, I never played her romance and she wasn't with me at the temple of Mythal so far. I playe my rogue Lìrel a bit today - she recruited the Chargers and run head first into that giant at the Storm Coast ... and I mean literally, right into his knee Gave her new hair, because I wanted her to be really cute (if I go for red hair and freckles, it has to be extra cute ) I almost were convinced to let her romance Solas, but now I'm thinking, she is too good for him. In my other playthrough with Riya, my mage, I was busy too. - finished Crestwood (love that map, it is really my favorite) and sentenced the mayor (exile, because no death sentences on my watch) - found Rhys and Evangeline for Cole - helped Dorian to make peace with his father and told Giselle off, for picking on Dorian (Riya and Dorian are best buddies now - he is alwys the first with highest approval, closely followed by Varric) - getting serious in the IB relationship - he is such a fresh breeze with all the drama lacking. Just safe the Chargers and all is well. I like that for a change. Funny thing is, I don't even like Qunari very much, I'm romancing Bull despite him being Qunari, because he is such a great character. Je got his dragon tooth necklace and is calling me kadan now. - helped Sera getting rid of a noble who killed villagers and Red Jennies - currently searching Seekers with Cass, Varric and Bull in Caer Oswin

When did you finish the PT with Riya? Your Redhead is cute; does your current redhead have the facial tats? You should try the Solas romance once just to see how it compares with the others. It's good for lore. I'm really far from being finished with Riyas playthrough . As I said: still in Caer Oswin, I didn't even do Halamshiral (forgot the name of the quest) or 'Here lies the Abyss' yet. I always have multiple playthroughs in my favorite games - there are five pt in DAI at the moment: Riya, Lìrel (the redhead), Lia (dwarf rogue), Aylin (another elven rogue), Lyra (human mage) and Janei (another female elf). But I may abandon the last two, at least for now. I just like rogues much more than mages (I never play warriors, I'm just glad, I don't have to micromanage the companion warriors in DAI, they normally are fine on their own) About Solas: maybe, I'll do his romance with Lìrel, but I really starting to like Iron Bull (something, I never thought, when I first read about the companions). And if I abandon Lyras playthrough, I may try the Cullen romance with Lìrel. It's not, that I don't like Solas, but the one character, who would really fit well with him, is the dwarf. She is a fade nerd and curious about spirits and demons - probably because she haven't had much experience with that topic so far. It's a shame that Solas is race gated and not interest (aka topic) gated, they would fit so well.

I mean, I still could, but does it actually change the way she acts in Trespasser? I don't recall her being any more accepting of other religions when I played Trespasser as a Trev but then again, she was Divine that play through. AND I wasn't romancing her then. But if she actually does carry the knowledge into Trespasser enough to mention it in conversation in with my romancing Ghi'ral, I'd totally do a run through it with her for that. I just wanted to save repeating the DLC for my completionist run throughs where I'm loving the character more as well as in a romance with someone I extra like (like Cullen.) But if it'll actually affect the Cassmance, I'll run through Hakkon for it. No, nothing worth doing again....especially not with a PC you're not overly enthused about. When Cass became a Seeker, she was touched by the Spirit of Faith: the Andrastian Faith. Lessons learned: Cass is best romanced by Andrastian human PC followed by Andrastian converts of other races; Dalish women should avoid Sera ( unless they wish to hit her). Yeah, I know her story, I've watched the movies, read the books, lived on the forum 9 months, and this is my 4th PT. I'm trying all the romances to get that yummy content I didn't see before. Lesson learned! But does make me a bit worried about my Dorianmance. I have a devout Andrastian bisexual Templar Warrior Trevelyan I have planned for Dorian (go figure that I didn't like him for Cassandra). but this game, I've wondered about the usual hate and distrust for Tevinter and whether or not technically they shouldn't get along. He's even going to side Templars, so he won't have gotten the same "bonding on our trip through time" that the other Inky's got. I've heard all about Sera, and experienced it first hand as a friend. I don't know WHAT dialogue I chose my first PT, but I wasn't even in a romantic relationship with Sera. We were just friends. And she said she wouldn't be my friend anymore if I didn't say it was all nonsense. I caved. I have like, no willpower in video games for emotional blackmail. The bolded bit made me laugh out loud though.

No Trespasser for Sera and Herah? They'll get there! I want to start a new game so that by the time they get married, it really feels like two years have passed. - helped Sera getting rid of a noble who killed villagers and Red Jennies - currently searching Seekers with Cass, Varric and Bull in Caer Oswin I love her! She's so cute and sounds like a great match for Bull.

The bolded bit made me laugh out loud though. I think, your templar will be fine with Dorian. After all, our favorite Tevinter is a devote Andrastian too and he is not easily offended. Unlike Sera, he has no problem with different opinions. My dwarf sided with the templars too and she and Dorian have a blooming friendship nevertheless - some day, I have to play a male character for the Dorian romance

And see, if I hadn't brought her to the Temple of Mythal (I never had on the 3 prior PTs) I would be none the wiser! She is always pretty good for my Dalish elf and loves him in spite of their belief differences. She even says that all her religious associates/friends/coworkers may think she's lost her mind, but she doesn't care. That comment about Dalish Temple Nonsense was, perhaps, poorly/inappropriately written. I can't imagine she'd go into an Alienage and tell the City elves their Tree was nonsense. (Sera would!) I would still recommend other players either NOT bring her to your Dalish Temple, mentally ignore it, or just romance her with a non Dalish, whether Andrastian or not.

Yeah, I guess, it's just poorly written. For all her devotion, Cass always striked me as open minded. So her making fun of the belief of others is just out of character imo. I would ignore it. It's just an annoyance like Morrigan, who lectures a Dalish about Mythal Edit: for spelling

But how can you support the Circles with a Divine Cass (possibly even support a Divine Viviene?) and date Dorian? Unless I don't understand exactly what Viv stands for. Maybe she's more Tevinter style than I thought?

The Frostbite engine doesn't handle curly hair very well though. (It doesn't handle hair well period!) Your artistic talents far exceed my abilities. (When I don't go with a default face, I download sliders! )

I started with copying sliders and after I got a feeling, I did go on my own. I know, that curly hair is a problem, but I found this mod on Nexus and liked it. There is short curly hair and a curly mohawk too.

I would still recommend other players either NOT bring her to your Dalish Temple, mentally ignore it, or just romance her with a non Dalish, whether Andrastian or not. Agnostic/atheist elf works, too. (Not that I've got my current Lavellan that far yet, but his response to 'how do the Dalish believe this nonsense?' would be 'I have no idea. How do you believe your nonsense?' They have that kind of relationship.)
