I followed a link to a review of the Origins Pragon Quest on the Twitter Thread. One of the responses to that review stated that "unless you let Branka live, Harrowmount is never able to overcome Bhelen's supporters".... making his epilogue slide show him to be a poor king as a result, was what I inferred. I have always known that King Harrowmont generally produces the worst outcome on the epilogue screen. I suppose Branka and Golems could be a useful tool for whoever is crowned King. One way or another, the Orzammar quests always leave you feeling dirty!(This is the politics. Always dirty. – It means: excellent quest, so real!)

Well Branka does strengthen Harrowmont position as king by giving him the iron fist he was sorely lacking before.Whether it benefits his people is another matter.
Ended up doing a bunch of stuff yesterday. Elderly elf face Cleaned House on the Storm Coast. Also closed some rifts, sneaked through some caverns and attempted to teach Solas the benefits of shoes by shattering bottles near his undefended toes.
Elayer Adaar, the slayer from afar, also Cleaned House yesterday, after attending a meeting with the Chantry mothers. While she did not approve of the uppity human, she felt more interested in dealing with him rather than the headache of the rebel mages and their gropey Tevinters. And getting such a stubborn man bending knee to her was far more exciting to pass. She also recruited Vivienne, since she was impressed by that "cool" magic trick. She was less eager to recruit the Iron Bull, but the temptation that she might be able to worm some info about her parents status on the Ben-Hassrath radar was too tempting. And her neck was starting to hurt from talking to the shorties. Maybe she could demand that the Herald should only be spoken to from atop of a stepladder. Might dabble some more today. Might not. -Also messed with Bethany's hair some more. She's getting so sick of this.

After making progress in the Deep Roads and the Frostback Basin, Katriel went east to complete operations in the Hissing Wastes. She and her companions successfully eliminated the Venatori and Red Templar presence in the Wastes. Corypheus will not be receiving reinforcements from the West. Katriel also explored all the tombs in the Hissing Wastes including that of Paragon Fairel, retrieving some useful equipment. (What were Corypheus' cronies looking for in the Hissing Wastes? Rune schematics? "Superb" equipment?) Gamer Notes: A particularly satisfying run at the Wastes this time. Two first for me: 1. fylimar I actually completed a Tevinter Mosaic! The one in the Hissing Wastes is called "Sacrifice." Gatsy was pleasantly surprised and gave me a "good dwarven perspective" on what it meant! Although a completionist in the sense I like to do every quest, collect every shard, and solve every astrarian puzzle, I never bothered to backtrack for missing Mosaic pieces. Having read Gatsy's goofy write-up, I may try to complete at least one more! 2. I accidently solved the mystery of the "chanter in the dessert." Apparently, you need to talk with her every time you see her. Eventually, she says "you found me" and magically disappears leaving the bow: "Perserverence."

hallaFor a Qunari? Your options are Cass, Jose, and Blackwall? I haven't done Jose, but my feeling right now is that Blackwall is the better of the three. You even get an extra romance scene in Trespasser although not as big as a wedding with Sera/Cullen. Better than the zero romance scenes you get with the rest of them. Edit add: and Iron Bull and Sera. I haven't done Sera but I've heard good things for Qunari women.

Cass and Blackwall depend on gender (any race ok). Iron Bull is available to any race or gender, like Josephine.

Oh yes, sorry. I honestly forgot the romance I'd never do as one of the options. :/

I think, I might double my efforts for those mosaics from now on. They are cool. I confess, I did nothing in the DA universe today. I was busy reading the second book of the Timothy Wilde mysteries by Lindsay Faye and couldn't stop, until I was finished - her books are great But I finally will try and make a human character for DAI, since I had to delete Lyra because of some decisions, I did not like, throughout the game (plus corrupted savegame, don't know why)

So I started to search my DA:O discs. Unsuccesfully. In DA2 I went on The Legacy with my (useless) brother (that dies too quick), Fenris and Varric. I wouldn't get my relatives if I didn't read it's good to take... Well, we will see if there is any change. So far I found our friendly Grey Warden, I laughed some with Hawke during her companions talks and made a lot of *disguised noise* for my (useless) brother dying (Bethany please come back to me). So far we learned that our Father is that blue fog and that Cory is something bigger than at the beginning when we met Carta. We defeated second Guardian and got my staff electrified to pew pew stronger through armor (honestly, no idea if it's good mix). Also gotta say, DAMN so much explosions on nightmare Gotta go Inq on it. And about DA:I... I made that Qunari, but I think I'll go as warrior. Any romance recommendations? And playing as aggressive or stoic like always? If your Qunari is female, you could always do Sera!

Spent last night (and technically about an hour and a half of this morning ...) sorting things out at the Winter Palace.
The evening started with a noble calling Lavellan a rabbit and didn't exactly improve from there. (She did not get her ring back. First time I've ever heard that dialogue, since my previous elf Inquisitor didn't speak to her before picking up the ring.) Still, it ended with Briala holding Gaspard's leash, so from Carathir's point of view it could have certainly been worse. It's actually the first time I've seen that outcome, since my previous Inquisitors either didn't care about helping the city elves or weren't ruthless enough to let Celene be killed when they came to Halamshiral to save her. Or they were dating Sera and didn't want to piss her off ... It's a pretty interesting world state, but I don't know how stable it's going to be. Of course, that could be said about any result of this clusterfuck. Alas, 'set up a guillotine and start the Orlesian Revolution a few centuries early' is not an available option.
Speaking of Sera, I am sad that I'll probably never get roof cookies with her in this world state now. I was so close! But I don't think there's enough approval left in the game to counter the Greatly Disapproves you get for letting Celene be killed.

I was watching a 20 minutes of play trailer thing of another game, Horizon Zero Dawn (I know, Blasphemy). And all the while I was like... Those dialogue options are pretty standard... I wouldn't date that guy...Is there even romance?
Hahaha the reason Bioware has ruined me for other games.

Ended up letting Hamin run loose for a while. He had a grand time and got a bunch of stuff done. He used the chance to do some more chatting before heading to Western Approach. He did not go to Adamant right away, but took a detour to kill the Abyssal High Dragon (using Cassandra, Sera, Bull and some very dirty tactics) and recruit Frederic.
Then it was time to deal with the Wardens with Varric, Blackwall and Cassandra. Mission went well. Tried to spot Spider friends in the big courtyard rift, but just saw big'n'beautiful and a wraith. Still, got some pretty pictures out of it, so not complaining. Fade went well and Spider friend felt a lot easier when the game is moving at reasonable speeds. Also, spirit lady did not turn into a green box this around, but got a nice orange-ish tint. Alistair stayed behind to keep big'n'beautiful company, wardens got to stay in Ferelden (or Orlais?) while Hawke went to Weisshaupt to blow things up. (Or lied and went to Starkhaven to chill on Sebby's couch.)
Then Hamin went into the Mirror World with Morrigan (luckily there were no Silent Hills around). Then he had some more chats, ate some cookies and beat Iron Bull with a stick (and wished everyone had similar means for approval) Then he cooled off in Emprise du Lion and did all the things that side of the bridge. Imshael was ignored (which made him mad and he attacked) and Michel was recruited.
To warm up again Hamin visited the Hinterlands to help Varric out with some Lyrium business they'd talked about. Also used the chance to clean Valamar of dwarves and darkspawn (nugs now rule supreme). Then he went to the Gull and Lantern with Dorian to meet a family retainer. But it seemed they had got sick of waiting and gone back to Tevinter, leaving only behind a lovely quest mark. For giggles they messed around with the door three times, which summoned his father instead! Or maybe he was lured in by Lily Allen's singing. Anywhos. Everyone came out of the closet, Dorian had a nice chat with his dad and Lavellan got some new trial rewards. Dorian had to fight Mother Giselle alone, since Hamin was off to nap with Solas before the option vanished again.
He then ended the session by prodding the war table a bit and making sure the advisers were all busy until the next session.

My last time through Trespasser, I spent at least an hour trying to catch one of those damned harlequins, and never did manage to do it. I just now caught one accidentally. I was just running around looking for codexes when I ran into one almost literally. I didn't even realize I'd done it until my Inquisitor whistled out of nowhere.

Well, I think my journey through Dragon Age is done.
I got this bug in Silverite Mines that strips gear. I installed the mod recommended on wiki, but despite my character appearing clothed after restarting the quest (so the mod is functioning), only 3 darkspawn continue showing up, so I do not get my gear back. That's that then.
I assume you cannot finish the game if you skip the mines?
EDIT: AH, apparently I have to play much farther to see if I can get my gear back... I will try... later.

@domi What was your character wearing when they entered the mine? Sometimes the ghouls can't equip the armor if it's too heavy for them. I think I lost a chainmail set from a rogue warden that way. If you don't find the missing armor with the rest of the gear and are ready to make one last ditch attempt, try unequipping the armor off the one who keeps loosing it, when you enter the mine. It should then be with the rest of your gear which you'll get near the end.

But it seems that the modded version looks correct, as it stripped everything including the inventory and gave everyone including the pc clothes. If I don't recover the inventory when I see the Expetimental subjects, then that's it. My main had robes from Awakening, justice wore Sentinel set, and Howe -Trickster set. So, yeah, fingers crossed.

@domi Were there only three who entered the mines? If you are not missing any armor, then your gear should be safe.

The way I understand the walk through, I will start getting my gear back once I start clearing rooms after that. As long as I get most of it back, I am going be fine.

I did, but she wore what she came in, and that's not as valuable as what Anders took with him to the Keep. So, i can't care less if I lose her stuff. the game doesn't have the mechanics to re-gear the comps easily when you get them as far as I know, without backtracking to the Keep, then re-walking the map... so I just decided to bring Velanna as is, then go to the Keep to rehear after the mines.

I have never gotten the silverite mine bug. I know that's not helpful.
I HAVE missed Awakening companion quests because you have to time them right. And tht one I hate a way more than a pile of armor going missing. That expansion throws good gear at you so it's hard to be sad.

What I saw weren't all that great, TBH, nothing like ME2 companion quests.

The smell and sound of burning logs exuded a heady aura of warmth that enveloped Ellenth as she sat before the fireplace. She had been craving for it every minute she was at the Deep Roads, just to get the dank, the damp and the rot out of her mind. Now back at Skyhold, she could only think of the images and questions from the journey into the Deep Roads. So much knowledge of the past had been lost. For the dwarves, it had seemed deliberate. Why would any one erase the Titans from their history? Could it had been not deliberate but an accident? She couldn't imagine what could have happened that could erase all memory of the dwarves' association with the Titans. It disturbed her greatly for she felt something similar might have happened to her people too unless she had been misreading Solas's comments. He was so frustrating oblique and his manner confusing at times. Sometimes when he looked her, there was that angry and sad brooding. It was doubtful he was angry with her personally, she had a feeling it was the vallaslin. A subject that he shut down rather abruptly when she did manage to bring it up. "Inquisitor." She blinked at the unexpected call. Seeing her startled bemusement at the intrusion, Cullen explained quickly. "I did call. I thought you might want to see this." He handed her a parchment, watching her intently as she read the report. She caught the interest and absorbed attention when she looked up. A small smile of amusement lit her lips when he pulled his eyes away. She could understand his curiosity since it was the first time he had seen her with her hair loose. Most of the time she had the upper layer tied back in a small ponytail. She probably looked very different to him. She lifted the parchment. "So nothing could cut through the walls," she said. His eyes met hers and he smiled self-consciously. "The engineers are the best. Short of borrowing some Qunari black powder, I don't see how we can get back to the Wellspring." "Then we don't. Withdraw all our forces from that location. Josie will just have to inform Orzammar that the mine is lost." She handed the parchment back to him. He took the paper. "That'll pleased them," he said dryly. "They're more than welcomed to try to get back in there themselves but I doubt the Titan will oblige them." He turned to head back down the stairs and stopped. "Do you get the feeling that the past is trying to tell us something?" She stared at him in surprise. "Funny, I was just thinking about that. Everything that had happened. Corypheus, my people, the dwarves, the Titan." Her shoulders slumped. She closed her eyes wearily and shook her head. "I feel as if something is reaching back from the past, something buried that is now returning to tear the world asunder." She opened her eyes at the touch on her arm. "You should rest," he said softly. "I'm not having flights of whimsy." "I don't think you are but I should not have brought it up. Not at this time when you're so tired." "And you're not?" "I haven't been in the saddle like you have for the past weeks. You'll feel wretched if you don't go to bed now. I should tell you Josie has lined up a list of issues to discuss with you tomorrow, " he added and bit back a grin at her groan of dismay. "So, to bed." He pointed to the bed and hurried down the stairs but not before he gave her a parting kiss. * I got a clipping issue at DD. Both BW and Dorian were stuck in the wall. The music of DD holds a lot of feels. Especially at the end when the party returned to the main camp and see scout Harding's triumphant smile. "She always comes back." I feel the momentous adventure coming to an end and always let the music played out before mapping away.

I have never gotten the silverite mine bug. I know that's not helpful. I HAVE missed Awakening companion quests because you have to time them right. And tht one I hate a way more than a pile of armor going missing. That expansion throws good gear at you so it's hard to be sad. So far I did Justice's, Anders' and Orghen's went on the waiting list saying he may open up to a friend. But I dunno if I have enough influence with him for it to continue. What I saw weren't all that great, TBH, nothing like ME2 companion quests. I have played all the Dlc of Origins, except Chronicles, once. Awakening twice with intentions to skip it on some Wardens. Awakenings has an effect on DA2 but no effect on DAI. I remember Nathaniel Howe being neat because I'd thought of Arl Howe as a 2 dimensional bad guy. But he'd accidentally raised some decent kids. Sigrun introduces the Legion of the Dead AND what it's like to be Casteless Dwarf that gets mixed up in it. I had still not played a Casteless Dwarf as of my last Awakening PT. Justice explores the good side of spirit possession as he's not screwing with Anders head yet. Yeah, Wynne was possessed too, but her spirit had no personal goals. There is also a very weird exploration of grief. Both the loss of the Warden that was but also justice as a pure spirit is beginning to degrade. Oghren is weird all around but I didn't hate him. I'm not sure I would recruit someone who obviously had drinking problems into the Wardens but everyone was getting the Warden prize that game. Velanna is a better introduction to the usual feeling the Dalish have for outsiders. And it's nice to see her bitterness melt and her personality soften. I think she's the weakest character of the bunch though, because she just seems to be a ticket to the architect plot. Anders is a selfish coward in Awakening, you'll see if you hear all his banter with Justice, and I'm a bit sad to say it, but Justice made him better. But I think Awakening is good enough to play more than once. It gave me RP opportunities. Then Witch Hunt if your Warden cares at all about Morrigan. I have found her as a friend just wanting to check up on her. Others try to find her to see their son or stab her. Then off to DA2. My Warren's story felt quite complete with all the post Blight adventures and I was ready to let go and become the roller coaster ride of drama that is Hawke.

I meant the companion quests, rather than the companions themselves. I like the companions well enough. I can't really see myself replaying the Warden's story. One time is nice, though a bit boring. I am sort of determined to see the end of it with Awakening unless a game-breaking bug stops me.
