My first NM run I played KE who romanced Dorian, so I took him everywhere. That was also the first Inquisitor I played JoH with. I still haven't played Trespasser with him, but I figure after getting roflstomped in JoH and dragged along to kill all the dragons, Dorian is probably ready to head back to Tevinter.

How do I gather enough money to help the family that is moving out during the City Elf origin? Dilwyn and Gethon give you 15 silver as a wedding gift. That should be more than enough. They are standing next to the stairs of the stage in the alienage square. --- As for what was done today. Was going to whine about having to do the Blackmarsh quest and how it was my least favorite quest, but finished it instead. As predicted, Hrotti brought back a skinny human. He also brought home a qunari from the Wending Woods, so hopefully he has his set. Now only the endgame is left, after finding some new armor for Hrotti, since the Legion armor is getting so rank that even Oghren commented on it. And he travels with his lye set. Psh. ... Amaranthine ended up burning. Hrotti started out by pleading that they tried to save the city. Sigrun approved and agreed. Oghren objected. Hrotti failed his persuasion check and got slightly turned with Oghrens retort. Velanna butted in, supporting Oghrens argument. Hrotti turned fully. Sigrun tried to object, but it was too late and the city went down in flames. :C So the crew returned to Vigils Keep. Anders tried to profess his love, but changed his mind quickly. Hrotti just ignored it. Justice was mildly surprised that they came back. The Senechal nearly had a heart attack when Hrotti told him that the city was burning. Esmerelle rose up from the dead and snuck up behind Herren as he told the group the soldiers were fully equiped. Luckily, her zombie self was docile, so Herren survived another day. The rest of the game went well. Hrotti ended up letting Archie live (and having to put Sigrun down). Luckily Anders was working on his second love confession and had snuck after the team, so Hrotti still had a full party to face the Mother. The Mother went down (eventually) and then the credits rolled. But the excitement was too much for the game and it crashed before I could see the companions epilogues. No way I'm bothering with that fight again, so their fates will remain a mystery. Next up Golems of Amagararagak.

Ciara "I-can't-believe-she's-related-to-Hawke" Amell traded a little boy's life for knowledge of blood magic, got outsmarted by a cat, found her very own golem, and is now somewhat lost in the deep roads (Leliana dropped the map in a mud puddle, ok?).
On the up side, she sent a very overeager little dwarf to the circle to annoy Irving (it's the least he deserves) and Morrigan is absolutely smitten with her. Oddly, so is Leliana.
Ah, well. Next on the agenda, install Bhelen to the throne and completely upend the dwarves' sacred traditions.

Frostback isn't really a favorite area of mine.

Frostback isn't really a favorite area of mine. You can always ignore the giant and continue to the camp to talk with the leader. You receive a lot of experience points. When I did that, I leveled up 2 levels.

And with that, Hrotti's journey is over and he can settle down to raise nugs for Leliana with that handy book he stole from the Circle, while Hawke does her thing. Golems of Amgarrak was fun as usual (minus the spawns accompanying the final boss. *shakes fist*). Hrotti was a beast in there and was able to stand his ground in almost all the fights. Witch hunt was okay as well. The tiny fiddler of wood and stone went down surprisingly fast this time, even his dragon fans were no trouble. Story wise I kinda would have liked more questions about the kids health, since that was Hrotti motivation to go after Morri. But at least he got to travel with Thumper again, who made friends in the most unlikely places. Hugs! So...grand times for all.

I played DAI multiplayer for the first time this morning with a coworker and his daughter. I have not played enough to form an opinion, as we only played a few minutes and did not finish the mission because we all had places to go at 11:00 AM
Prior to that, we spent a lot of the time getting loading errors before we all turned off the game option "send data to EA". Fortunately the old forum is still read only, as we might have had more trouble figuring this out if the old BSN was already deleted.

Had an interesting moment where Cullen informed my Qunari Inquisitor that he is weaning off lyrium right after she decided take the Templar specialization. I realized, oh shit, this character is gonna make him stay on it. Oh dear... Well, this isn't my canon run, its my "as opposite from my canon as possible" run, so it fits.

The continuing adventures of Ciara "a-conscience-gets-in-the-way" Amell:
So many smelly, filthy beggars in Orzammar with the audacity to ask Ciara for coin! Why, if she could work hard for her coin, then so could they. Of course they were poor if all they did all day was lounge in the street!
Truly, the dwarves were a bunch of morons. If not for their prowess in battle and Ciara's need for their army, she would have left them to their kingless squabbling, even if they ended up killing each other over it. The lowly tasks forced upon her by Bhelen grated on her. Rooting out common thugs? Delivering forged paperwork? It was insulting! Ciara would demand a large statue in compensation once it was all over. She deserved no less for saving their kingdom.
Joined by the drunkard Oghren, Ciara and her minions headed into the deep roads in search of Branka, a celebrity of some sort (Ciara hadn't really cared to ask for details) who turned out to have a crazy plan to create golems out of dwarves. Not "so crazy it just might work," but certifiably, "let's get you sedated and locked up" insane. It was especially telling that the metal giant claiming to have been a dwarf a long time ago was the one making the most sense.
After defeating Oghren's ex-wife, Ciara asked "Caridin" the golem to come back to Orzammar with her, but it refused, instead offering her a crown to give to her choice of king. She would just tell the dwarves that their "paragon" had chosen Bhelen. They didn't need to know.
Bhelen's first act as king was to execute Harrowmont. No less than the man deserved, though it hardly mattered to Ciara as long as she got her army.
Bhelen said "maybe" to the statue.

More DAO over the weekend.
I did the male city elf origin as solo 2H since it was the only origin I hadn't done and was as such the last to solo.
For whatever reason after I finished the origin though I got the urge to try "all archer" party game just for the hell of it. Used respec on that character in Ostagar even though rogue might be a better archer.
So for the Wilds I gave Alistair a bow, gave Jory a crossbow and we went in all ranged. Amusingly this seemed to be one of the easier ways to get through the wilds, even though Jory and Alistair didn't really have any bow talents at all. For the tower you get a mage and I let him hang around, so this won't be a 100% archer only run. Also had Morrigan and Dog for the toll collectors outside Lothering, but picked up Leliana and Sten ASAP and gave them bows.
Took Alistair, Sten, and Leliana to Denerim for side quests and bandits, then Honnleath, then did Circle. Dropped Sten to recruit Wynne, so that should end up as the last mission that doesn't have 100% archer. That is unless I decide to just bring Shale for her big archery buffs. I haven't really decided. Also haven't decided if I will just go ahead and equip DLC gear.
Really this idea was more amusing earlier in the Wilds and through the Honnleath but the novelty is sort of wearing off. I was pleasantly surprised how simple Wilds was this way though even without the archery talents on Jory or Alistair.
Just undecided about a lot of things. Maybe I will finish this run, or maybe I will just restart the game as 2H and run an all 2H barbarian party. For a second I thought about a DAI run, but there isn't really any class / spec that I would really want to play unless I decided to finally get some DLC for it.

Emma finished Trespasser and decided to keep the Inquisition as a peacekeeping force. Man, Saarath was tough. I found it harder to stay alive the first time I faced him, but that was because I wound up using all my health potions keeping Bull alive. Thankfully, I had Blackwall with some upgraded healing mist grenades, or else I never would have been able to kill him, as Emma kept going unconscious after Saarath dropped to one hp and started some weird blue attack. He was quite the opponent.

Have some major catching up to do, on this thread. Am still working on multiple play throughs on the PC, but I purchased the GOTY edition for the xbone last December in hopes of getting my husband to play. Welllll.....that didn't work out exactly as I had hoped. However, he is vicariously playing the game through me. So I downloaded all the DLC, and had him choose what features, class, race he would want (ended up with an archer f!elf). And he wanted her to be mostly diplomatic, with a bit of pragmatism. He watches as I play, and will interject specifics as they come up. He chose to go after the mages (In Hushed Whispers), and asked to align with them. For now, he seems to like all the characters, but Viv hates his elf gal. (which I suspected she would). Since he didn't have any preference on LI's, I am going to set her up with Solas, since I think he will enjoy the story aspects once the ending reveal and epilogue are played. No pictures as of yet (since I still need to figure out how to take snapshots on the xbox ). Currently we are finishing up Fallow Mire, before sealing the breach and getting attacked at Haven. He is very impressed with the VA's, and his memory is pretty good when it comes to basic DA lore. Having spent so many hours watching me play DAO and DA2 on the 360, helped.

Good to see you're posting here! My previous two lady Lavellans, Talisia and Nymisa, Vivienne was never recruited. They chose to ally with the Mages anyway. But my male Rogue Lavellan, Rikki, Vivienne befriended him, because they shared similar views about the Mage circles and Templars.

I just started another playthrough of DAO after a long time. I had almost forgotten how much I like this game.
I'm playing as my canon Warden Surana again and just played through the Harrowing. Mouse is such a wonderful minor character. I always like talking to him and I love his last line before the Harrowing ends: "Keep your wits about you, mage. True tests... never end."
