on my fifth playthrough (playing a male rogue dwarf). I just finished all inner circle quests for cassandra to get her approval and then I did this one quest "The Ideal Romance" to get her into bed. damn this romance is really romantic and also very funny. I should have played a man before LOL.
I am trying to get Vivienne Divine.. I don't know and I am really curious how cassandra romance is/ends in trespasser O_o

Sera is so squishy Yeah, the rift by the elven ruins is seriously hardcore. 20th level Despair Demons everywhere. I've found Sera is generally OK as long as the warriors can hold aggro. However I'm currently playing Elena Lavellan (2W Rogue) and the squishies, Iron Bull, Sera and Vivienne (not micro-managed). Since I'm not using the Golden Nug on this playthrough either I keep on seriously over-estimating what this party can do. They just absorb healing potions like no other party I've ever had.

Aww, that sucks. I did CotJ on my attempt and didn't even set foot in Redcliffe. I was paranoid about everything! It was a throwaway game for me though, 'cause I hate skipping so much content. My Hinterlands map was the saddest thing ever because I barely went anywhere.
Tell me about it! I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet, whether just cut my losses and continue or start over and do it properly so that the losses mean something. As it stands, this mage is going to be remembered in Varric's inevtiable novel as the world's biggest asshole who watched the residents of Haven bravely take up arms against the Elder One and refused to help a single one of them because it was "too much XP." RIP Adan. And Lysette. And Flissa. And Minaeve. And Seggrit, though no one liked you anyway. RIP public opinion.

I'm messing around in Origins Redcliffe Village. Apparently, you can suggest having sex with Dwyn the Dwarf? I can't remember if my Isabella-esque Cousland offered. I wonder if he just refused, because I can't remember counting him among my notches that game.
But also, Intimidated Lloyd into fighting because I wanted him to die. Thought I would have to try hard, but then he kamikazes near immediately. But then other people started dying and I felt like a loser haha and now I've reloaded. Somehow, I feel like I succeeded on one of my prior playthroughs in no one dying, but can't figure how I managed it. Suggested team?

It's a long time since I played it, but I think the key to keeping the villagers alive is to concentrate on the two Elite undead first. They are the primary danger, the others can be cleaned up afterwards. As to a team, my team always included Alistair and Leliana for that mission. You can heal the villagers, so Wynne's a good option if you've recruited her by then.

Just started Trespasser, taking my time to catch up with my old friends. Varric just gave me the key to Kirkwall, a manor and a fancy title, Cole played matchmaker with Krem and Maryden, Josie brought Inky for an evening out. Cassie got her wires crossed, I love this moment... Have yet to speak to the others, just been grabbing screenies.

From the diary of Elena Lavellan: "Decided to take some down-time with the guys. My head hurt for days. The Chargers capacity for alcohol exceeds even their capacity for violence. Found Cassandra reading a smutty book of Varric's. If it can get her cold ass warmed up it must be searing hot. I need to find a copy. Alistair finally found the ritual tower the Wardens were using. Some sad sack of a Venatori is using them, but he ran off as soon as I showed him my mastery of the Mark. Things have moved on from Haven you asshole! I've also taken Griffon Wing Keep from them. A new forward base of operations to plan our attack on Adamant from. Yes I have an army now, just needs a bit of support from Halamshiral and we'll be all over those demon summoning idiots. Hope that invitation shows up soon."

I have finally been able to continue my current Origins pt. Had trouble with some mods and had to remove almost everything, so I decided to let my boyfriend finish his latest pt before I continued, so I could put the mods back in again without the risk of destroying his game. So - yesterday I took Melavas Mahariel from the Tower of Ishal to Redcliffe, and today I finished up in Redcliffe. Have already slept with Morrigan. Will pick up Shale next I think. Just a random screenie:

The first time I played Origins, I didn't even know there was romance, so I can't remember when it began "naturally". My second time, I played very unnaturally by going from Leliana, to Zevran, to Alistair all at max intentionally by gifts and conversation being withheld until I was ready.
This third time, I'm trying to pace it that "every night at camp" I do 1-2 dialogue trees. But apparently that's too slow, because Zevran, as easy as he is, is only now asking about if we could be more than friends, and I'm already done with the Circle and the Brecillian forest. Maybe it's better if I just investigate all dialogue available and hold back all gifts?
Thoughts about Origins Romance pacing?

Fixed that for you.

I try to get everyone to 25 approval before starting with the gifts, but sometimes I get impatient for new dialogue options. So, if they need a nudge to the next threshold, gift time it is. Zev's can sometimes take a while because the Antivan boots are in Haven. He likes those a lot. Alistair is pretty easy to gain approval with if you're nice to him, so with him sometimes I need to slow it down. I would probably do all dialogue available except for known romance options until I was ready to progress further. Watch out for the cutscenes though.....sometimes they can ambush you before you're ready for them.

I thought they all started at 50 in Origins on a scale of 0-100. Then DA2, they start at 100 on a scale of 0-200. So, when you say 25, do you mean 75? I guess I don't have the conversations memorized; can't tell which Question leads to a flirt. Asking about Templar stuff gets you some flirty banter with the choice in clothes/armor, for example, and I wouldn't have guessed it would lead that direction. I think every single conversation with Zevran leads to a flirt. But I shall take your advice and go ahead and use up all the dialogue trees after I get done with Redcliffe and certainly keep it in mind for the future. Dialogue until they won't talk anymore or 25 point gain, whichever comes first, then gift if they have nada.

The scale in DAO is -100(hate fest)......(neutral).......+100 (friendly/romanced).
The thresholds for various stages of the relationship (and also special skill bonuses) are 25/50/75/90-100. Everyone starts in the middle at 0 (except Dog, who is 100% friend as soon as recruited). There are numbers visible via tool tip if you hover the mouse over the approval bar.
The scale in DA2 is 100rival......(neutral).......100friend.
Everyone once again starts in the middle at 0. Alas, no numbers are visible so if you want to keep track, you have to do it the old-fashioned way. Once a companion gets to 50 on either side, then the friend or rival icon on their special skill tree will light up.

Will write more later, but Surana is a tad heartbroken. Zevran was at max points, and he'd shared his personal tragedy and Wynne was telling her to break it off and...She slept with that tragic assassin. And then he just shrugged off their beautiful night as if she were just anybody. Morrigan was right, love is a delusion. As a player, I was curious to see if the scene went differently at max, but it didn't. I've never been proposed to by Zevran. Can't wait, even though I know that's end game stuff.

Had a productive day today. Did Trial of the Fool over (now I'm a mage with a gaggle of Templars, whoops!); knocked out the Fallow Mire (most hated of all zones), where I got Trial of the Emperor out of the way and the secured bits for my Knight Enchanter specialisation. Came home to Skyhold, spent some time wooing flustering Cassandra. And then...

Origins enjoyment: everyone comments on my being a woman. And an elf. And a mage. I can open a door three different ways. The Grand Oak, a poet tree. I kinda think it's Lords of the Ring ish, but it's still part of the magical world of Thedas and I wish we'd get more of it. Demons and Darkspawn are actually scary. Ah, DAO... I'm also replaying it (for the 5th time? I don't know) and I have 500 hours in it. I'm too attached to this game. I feel like I'll be 90 years old playing it. The party camp theme makes me emotional.
