What did you do today in DA? [Spoilers]

Aww, that sucks.  I did CotJ on my attempt and didn't even set foot in Redcliffe. I was paranoid about everything! It was a throwaway game for me though, 'cause I hate skipping so much content. My Hinterlands map was the saddest thing ever because I barely went anywhere.

Thoughts about Origins Romance pacing?

I try to get everyone to 25 approval before starting with the gifts, but sometimes I get impatient for new dialogue options. So, if they need a nudge to the next threshold, gift time it is. Zev's can sometimes take a while because the Antivan boots are in Haven. He likes those a lot. Alistair is pretty easy to gain approval with if you're nice to him, so with him sometimes I need to slow it down. I would probably do all dialogue available except for known romance options until I was ready to progress further. Watch out for the cutscenes though.....sometimes they can ambush you before you're ready for them.
