Oghren and Zevran wont try to seduce the warden into murdering Ruck if you end the conversation by opening his store. (And don't say goodbye to him.) I usually just do that since I want to get rid of my loot. And because I don't want them to tempt me into wanton slaughter, I can do that on my own thank them very much. Wynne also get quite bloodthirsty if you pick "I hate to admit it, but you're probably right" when talking to Cullen in the cage. It doesn't sound like a very determined statement right? It implies that the character might consider another route if it could be justified. But nope, Wynne Kill Switch activated and neither Leliana or Alistair can talk her down. Ugh. --- As for what was done in DA today. Not much. Played a bit with Elayer Adaar, the slayer from afar. It made me wish that Qunari had tails, she would look so cool with a tail. But alas. No Hamin today, finished the testing I wanted to do with him yesterday and need to ponder more on what he should do next. Find some colored pens to jot down plans and such.

Does your character hate Loghain or not?Edit add: I hate it when I'm accidentally on the first page of a thread and don't notice. What was the decision outcomethen ?
After doing it wrong the first time (Alistair wasn't hardened) Diana arranged the marriage between Al and Anora, recruited Loghain, told Al to suck it up, then killed Archie after telling Morrigan (for the second time) to get lost. Anora gave the eulogy since Diana didn't romance anyone (Tamlen ) while Al tried to look sad.
This always happens if you bring Zevran to Ruck's cave. Oghren has the same inclination, but you can overrule him. Zev you can't. Just like taking Sten to Haven is always a mistake...
I never had Oghren say anything about killing Ruck and certainly never had to overrule him on it. I don't remember about Zevran but....I've never killed Ruck, and I'm sure I've brought Zev with me at least once in the Deep Roads. As for Sten, I take him to Haven just so I can fight him and then gain approval for beating him and telling him to get back in line. What?
Oh yes! I remember reading that outcome. That's the goal of my play through, but I think it's gonna be a Loghain sacrifice instead. I think Oghren's always said something about Ruck for me, both prior play throughs, I brought Shale and Oghren. I was a rogue, though, so never needed to bring one. Now, I'm a mage, so I needed Zev for all that good loot. One should always come back from the Deep Roads rich. I was supremely irritated that it happened, but I won't rewind. It'll just be part of the story. The story of how the Warden's companions showed they could mutiny. Something for my love birds to argue about, I'm sure. Maybe it takes two "Let's kill him!" to do it? Or perhaps it takes the dialogue trees I picked. Maybe assuring Ruck that I would tell his mom of his brave death was too much encouragement for my companions. "Lying is wrong"they said. "Let's make it reality!" they said.

That's probably it then, since by the time I find Ruck, I'm in desperate need of inventory space. So many goodies in the Deep Roads....Bodahn had the right idea

also Curious CrowThat's probably it then. I think I talked to him, opened his store. Dumped stuff, bought stuff. Did an inventory check and re assigned some rings. Decided to sell more, so opened his shop again. I don't get it, if one can end the convo by closing the shop... how the "Goodbye then" got clicked. *shrug* We need another " Things you didn't know your first play through" thread.

Anders is totally pretending not to be attracted to Nathan and is playing hard to get. I finally managed to get some friendship points by shipping Feynriel off to the Dalish, not killing Harriman like Meeran wanted, and not blackmailing Thrask over his daughter. Sheesh. I still have to finish Enemies Among Us (next stop: Idunna, the Exotic Wonder of the East ), Petrice's quest (avoiding her) and of course Act of Mercy, which is the last one to activate. So, there's room for more friendship points but man, this is taking forever. I have higher friendship with Varric and I haven't even been bringing him anywhere.

LFS I like Zevran and I still laughed. He's my LI this game, which is why I brought him, although it's totally not been as satisfying as it was with Alistair. deadlydwarf I haven't finished it yet. At the point of that writing, I think I was done with Brecillian Forest, the Circle, Redcliffe, and on my way to the Sacred Ashes. Now I've done kinged Bhelen, and still have all the side quests and half the companion side quests left to do. As of right now, I think this Surana is going to push hardened Alistair out of danger by marrying him off to Anora and recruiting Loghain. If I do that, I think she'll let Loghain make the sacrifice because she definitely does not trust Morrigan. I just wrote the wrong kind of character for the Ultimate Sacrifice this time. Baby steps; at least I'm weaned off the Dark RItual, eh? I think I shall formulate my next warden as a Sten like rogue....dwarf who romances Alistair. Sten like in that she feels it is her absolute duty to kill the Archdemon; that she was meant for it. That way, when I get the funeral, King Alistair will say he loved me. A dead Warden that romances anyone else gets no romantic mention at the funeral. What can you say? The US is supposed to be difficult choice, particularly since it's thrown at you late in the game. At least for a seasoned Grey Warden like Duncan, he knew about the US and had years to mentally prepare himself for the possibility that he would have to be the one. That he was on verge of his "Calling" perhaps would've made it easier for him. By contrast, the PC and Alistair have been Grey Wardens for a year at most and now they're faced with the US. (All of a sudden, that 30 yr shortened life span seems like a good deal if you can get in on it.) And they're vulnerable to Morrigan -- who's known about the US from the start -- with an offer that's difficult to refuse! As far as which kind of Warden would do an US rather than listen to Morrigan, I would say the human or dwarf nobles. These are people who have benefitted from the existing order and would want to see it maintained. They would also be inherently suspicious of someone like Morrigan. A Dalish elf might also have a similar sense of duty. A City Elf or Dwarf commoner, not so much since they are part of unpopular minorities. As to mages, the Circle Mage would do the US while the rebellious libertarian would be more than happy to listen to Morrigan. The Loghain option is good but it unlikely to be available to any PC who's close to Alistair. Difficult choice! For me, the DR, Anders execution, and the Hawke Fade Choice were the three hardest decisions of the game series. I can't even imagine how I would have felt if I hadn't invested in coercion! "Alistair, my love... please trust me and sleep with Morrigan." ---"Hahahahah, my love, no." And then, not knowing anything, I would have brought Alistair to AD fight and he would have died and I would have BAWLED FOR DAYS. I laughed at, "30 year life span sounds like a good deal now." I agree with dwarf noble and Dalish elf. I've played as a human noble and her focus was mostly vengeance and sex and power. So uh...yeah. To make sure her future Queen dom was assured, she signed up for the Dark Ritual with no discussion at all. And regarding Alistair/Loghain decision. The way I intend to RP this PT is that Surana will be open to Loghain becoming a Grey Warden. Then Alistair throws a hissy fit about leaving and not fighting anymore. At first, Surana will aquiece--- then realize that, actually, this is perfect. What better way to keep her "brother" Alistair safe than hating her far away from the battle front? So, she recruits Loghain to keep Alistair safe. His hatred is a small price to pay. Still don't know how well the game dialogue choices will support that, it may just be 99% head canon.

Now what is it about women gamers and Anders? I've wanted to kill that guy since Awakening! (Although I did like Justice character and the concept of a spirit trapped in a dead body.) In DA2, combined with Justice, he's hopeless. I sent him packing after he killed that poor Circle Mage you were trying to save from being made Tranquil by the radical Templars. In DA2, Hawke's mission is to try to keep the peace between groups that hate each other. My Hawke had no problem killing the Arashok and he/she felt betrayed by Anders. (I wanted to do much more than knife him in the back during a PT where Anders manipulated Hawke and company into gathering explosive materials for him in the sewers of Kirkwall! ) I see your point about a female human noble PT. The lure of being Queen would make the DR attractive. Your approach to the Loghain question sounds solid, but remember to save immediately after killing Ser Cauthrien. On one occasion, I tried to bluff Alistair with unintended consequences.

In Awakenings, I was maximizing points in every chracter, so Anders was not 100% in my company. Honesly, other than being an apostate that liked cats, I don't remember much about Awakening Anders. The drawbacks of metagaming points is that you never really spend enough time with any one character. Origins had presents galore to make up for not dragging people about, but Awakening was very very low on gifts. So, if I wanted to "win" as everyone's friend, I had to switch out party members often based on mission.
My first PT of DA2, I flirted with all of the LIs. I was a rogue. And I self insert quite a bit my first PTs and I value freedom for all, darn the consequences....which led to strong friend points with Anders. Anyway, so I had Bethany. Bethany had already maxed out friendhship points, wasn't very interesting, and wasn't an LI to boot, so I switched her out for Anders as my mage healer. I didn't fall for Anders right off the bat. I slept with Isabella and agreed it was a one night stand. I slept with Merril, and sent her crying from the room as I felt nothing for her. Fenris never came to my bed cuz DUH, I'm obviously Isabella 2.0.... then Anders.
Anders kissed me. Then told me he would come to me that night. So that, if I still wanted him after I'd had the day to think, we would be together. Then he asked if I was sure when he got there. Cleared the air about my prior relationships. And then, and only then, could I say, "Let's do this." He was the only LI of 3 I'd tried who'd gone through all that effort to make sure I didn't feel pressure to go to bed with him. Isabella jumps you after one flirt. Merril makes your first kiss into sex. (technically, so does Fenris, but I didn't bang him my first PT.) It was just so... It was just different, and sweet, and romantic and gentlemanly. His concern for my Hawke's welfare superceded his aching burning desire to have me. And he had wanted me so badly for 3 years, according to him, whereas Isabella considered me a fling, and Merril jumped into my bed out of NOWHERE; she went from being oblivious to my flirts to crying in my arms right before sexing me in my bed.
And in my first PT, I ALWAYS used the Star option when it came up (the equivalent of persuade I guess.) So, when we got to Mage Ella, I starred Anders, he calmed down. I hadn't even known killing Ella was even an option! In my world, Anders was losing control but he never killed anyone. So, unlike you, my perception never changed. Well... my Hawke was very hurt by Anders twisting her emotionally into helping her...But everything that was going on in Kirkwall kept distracting her, and by the time Meredith and Orsino were screaming and running to Elthina I had totally forgotten about the argument and Anders weirdness in the Church. It was that weird thing I did for my lover that one time, whatevs....Then Explosion and Shock and @_@ Damn it, Anders!
AS a player, I was yelling and pacing the room. ASking my family members their opinions. My MIL sealed it for me. "If your husband of 3 years turned into a Terrorist for something he believed in, what would you do?" And MIL said, "Absolutely, I would stay with him. Our marriage before God blah blah."
The only thing I kinda regret is that not killing him AND not exiling him seems to mean our relationship stayed intact. I may choose not to kill my terrorist husband, but that doesn't mean he should get love and kisses a couple of hours later either. Or that I would go on the run with him. I think I would have not killed him but expected him to help stay and defend the Circle he'd put in Jepardy. THEN exile him. At least away from my Hawke.
Longwinded way of saying, my POV of Anders was heavily slanted due to my game choices. I think it's wonderful how people can have super big differences of opinion on a character based on the experiece they had their first time playing. For some people, Alistair will always be the guy who abandoned them the week before the battle of the Archdemon to become a wandering drunk. That betrayal shades heavy. For me, Alistair will always be the rose giving adorkable man who gave me the strength to give the execution blow to Loghain....who trusted me and performed the Dark Ritual to save my life...and who laughed with me as we talked about our future together as Wardens at the celebration party. I never saw the other sides of Alistair to have a bad opinion. I admit, this shades heavy. If he'd done that to me, I would have a wholly different opinion. I can't remember why Riordan didn't come forward to offer GW status to Loghain, I must have not found or given him the GW ritual papers. But Riordan never came forward, execution was the only option for Loghain, and we went to end game with our happy ending.

Jumping back and forth between Origins and finishing off Trespasser. DAI: Finished talking to my companions, got hitched, met the Ambassadors, talked to Divine Lels. Jumped into the eluvians, the surroundings were very colourful to my elf's eyes, loved that lil detail. My hand is getting worse. After exploring why the Qunari are around had to deal with the Council (bluergh) Lels wanted to discuss stuff so was excused. Still pretty funny how much it irks her when her former colleagues call her your perfection, your holiness etc. Will return to it later. DAO: Finally finished Orzammar. Supported Bhelen, always my preferred choice however this time I chose to preserve the Anvil and keep Branka alive. Need to stop the Blight by any means necessary, that's my Warden's reasoning behind that choice even if it comes at a high cost. Currently recruiting Shale, started her DLC last night, ugh that bloody puzzle, hate it.

Fanfiction like update of Warden Mage Surana Chapter 6 Chapter 1Chapter 2Chapter 3Chapter 4Chapter 5Sitting on the wagon as it rolled along, Eliana removed herself from her thoughts to speak to the nimble elf walking along behind her wagon. "What is it, Zevran?" Eliana finally asked him. "It occurs to me, my dear Warden, that you have not taken advantage of my specialty, as of late." Eliana refused to blush. "Assassination? I suppose I could send you after Loghain. Would serve him right to have paid the person who would kill him." Zevran smiled at the idea,"Interesting idea, my dear Warden. I do wonder if the luck of my last two assignments wouldn't continue, and you wouldn't just end up short one elf for our troubles." He'd meant it as a joke, but she flinched nonetheless at the reminder of Rinna. Zevran realized from his expression that his joking had gone off poorly. He followed behind the wagon nimbly enough as she became quiet once more. It was nearing sundown; they were a day west of Denerim at this point. They’d probably pass the path that would need to Solider’s Peak first thing tomorrow. Ever patient, it was again Eliana who broke the silence. "So when this is over, you said you'd go into business for yourself. You can't go back to Antiva, I assume. Even if doing these...tasks for Ignacio," her eyes darted away from Zevran's face as she continued,"would stop them from crossing the border after you, I can't imagine returning home would receive the same respect of the deal." She feigned heavy interest in the trees at the roadside while she waited for his response. "What I do depends in large part upon you, my dear Grey Warden. I have mentioned before, I am not a free man, as it were." His easy charm and perpetual smile continued un phased at her serious questioning. Impatient, Eliana’s eyes met with the sparkling amber version of his own. “Yes, yes, but you’ve already mentioned leaving.” Eliana ignored the small tightness in her chest at that idea. Damned emotions. Zevran’s only reaction to her tone was the barest tightness in his eyes but his smile and tone never wavered. “I said no such thing. You Grey Wardens are the epitome of charm and hospitality. I think I should stay where I am. Ferelden is a marvelous country. I think it’s the cool temperatures and the mud. Or maybe it’s the dogs.“ Revas, listening at her side, happily barked. Eliana frowned at him. “What would you even do here in this country?” “Oh, I don’t know. Alistair may become king, let’s ask him.” Alistari was riding in front with the driver of the wagon following Eliana’s, so Zevran merely slowed his pace until he walked along side him. Loudly enough so she could hear. “Good Alistair. You may become King, if if so, maybe you will need some people killed, yes?” Alistair looked perturbed, slanting his gaze at the Fereldan seated next to him. It wasn’t exactly common knowledge that he was King Marric’s son. “Uh... “ He coughed.” Is there any reason why, in this very unlikely situation, that I wouldn’t just kill them myself?” “You wound me. It's that sort of talk that is bad for business. Have you no thought to supporting the employment of your potential subjects?” Alistair grinned cheekily. “That would be assuming I’d hire you. But I won’t need to. Ever.” Zevran chuckled heartily as he came back towards her, drawing even more closely than before. It seemed intimate , as if they were sitting next each other. Chuckling finally coming to an end, Zevran remarked in a offhand manner to just her. “That’s the lovely thing about kings. They make for good business. AS the client, or the target.” Her reaction was too swift and unexpected for even Zevran, as she slipped off of the wagon. They were very intimate then, just enough space between them for her hands to be shaped around the ball of seething energy that pressed against his abdomen. Zeran stilled, knowing danger and death was very near, as his smile froze and lost it’s ease. Eliana’s voice was quiet, but deadly clear. “I will tell you only once, Crow, and listen well. You will not touch a single hair on Alistair’s head or I will hunt you down and make the rack you were tested and trained on seem a warm up to the sort of pain I would do to your mind and body. I am not so restricted as the Crows, for in my magic, I can make you feel the maddening fear and horror your nightmares could only hope to give you. I don’t care what happened in my tent that night, rest assured those moments will not keep me from you.” Zevran’s amber eyes cooled, even as his expression resumed it’s usual appearance of charm. “ I see, warden. I was very right when I said I was attracted to dangerous things.” Angrily, Eliana spat. “So help me, Zevran, I will see your body turned to ashes. I swear it.” Two heartbeats, and the sound of the clopping of the wagon's horse catching up to them reached both their ears again; they’d been so focused, they’d forgotten where they were. Eliana let the energy dissapate, intentionally relaxed her shoulders, pasted on a smile, and stepped back into view of Alistair. Let Alistair think she’d jumped off to kiss Zevran, why not? The two elves resumed walking forward, side by side, as if she hadn't just threatened to torture him to death. Eliana spoke only loud enough for him to hear, sadness tingeing her words. “Please. Don’t make me regret the desire to see you have your freedom.” Only silence was his response. They walked onwards, as Eliana waited. But when the moment seemed to pass, she made as if to speed up her step and leave him behind. AS she did so, his words reached her. “I…. hope not to.” His tone seemed pained, and Eliana frowned and turned back to look at him. She opened her mouth to say, something…. but then her eyes darted towards the south and she took two steps in that direction, bringing up her hands to cast. Zevran tensed, his hands already drawing his blades from his sheathes. Her cry was harsh and loud. “Darkspawn Approach!” Electricity sparked from her hands as she cast a tight cone of lightning at what she sense. It lit up the night, and one gemlock fell to the ground twitching in it’s death throws. The horses pulling the wagons screamed as their animal senses finally caught the Darkspawn. The wagon drivers shouted and tried to calm them. Zevran melted into the shadows, and the large bulk of the Qunari, having never taken off his armor, barreled through the underbrush, some of it still aflame from the lightning Eliana had just cast. Alistair had removed his armor, but even he grabbed his sword and shield and rushed into the fray, Revas the mabari one step ahead of him. Arrows flew from what she suspected was Leliana’s bow, and Eliana could feel Morrigan cast at a Hurlock in the distance, it suddenly becoming trapped in place twitching in pain as the bars of the spirit cage compressed in to crush it. Eliana again felt, more than saw, an emissary casting it’s dirtied laceration attacks at her. Her being a mage giving her advantage in that respect even more so than Alistair. She reinforced her ever present arcane barrier; what it did not absorb scraped loudly over Varathorn’s armor. The feeling of a mage within the Darkspawn suddenly ended; Zevran had completed his task of killing all enemy mages well. Eliana reached for the fade once more; she did not wish to harm her companions or the wagoners who had given them a restful journey thus far by casting her habitual storm of fire and lightning. She enhanced the weapons of her comrades, and the iciness that marked them chilled the air. Alistair took a glancing blow from a tainted axe, worse due to his lack of armor, but Wynne was there, casting healing magic upon him nearly as quickly as he’d taken the wound. And then, very quickly, it was over; It was not often that the 8 of them fought together and they were quite experienced at this point. A small band of Darkspawn could not best them. The wagoners were grateful, refunding the cost of their tickets aboard. “Knowing we’ll be safe on this trip is payment enough!” The man assured Eliana. He needn’t bother; Eliana would rather keep the coin and readily accepted it back. The wagons stopped for the night, but after that attack, everyone kept close to the wagons when laying their bed rolls. Considering the conversation they'd had before battle, Eliana intentionally lay her bed roll closer to Alistair than usual, looking at Zevran in a warning reminder. Oddly enough, Zevran looked pained at her implication. She had let herself forget he had been paid to kill them. AS she placed small paralysis glyphs around them, she assured herself she would not let herself forget again. Yay, fan fiction. I haven't written from scratch in a long while.

My brand new Inquisitor, a sword/shield warrior named Elizabeth Trevelyan has been to see the Chantry mothers, and now she's recruiting Sera, Vivienne, Iron Bull and Blackwall.

Anders is totally pretending not to be attracted to Nathan and is playing hard to get. How so? Is this that Diplomatic Hawke; so attractive? no flirts?
Nathan is almost 100% purple but knows when enough is enough. I'm just bitching about having no more convo's with Anders since the post-Tranquility talk and that it's taken forever to budge his friendship meter. Head-canon reason is he's playing hard to get but I know the real-world reason is that's just how the game is set up.

There is 115 friendship points that can be gained from Anders in Act 1 alone. And 170 rivalry points can be gained. How can it be slow? @_@ Unless you're majorly going back and forth on the scale.

Because I haven't gotten to the quests where he gains the most friendship. I'm not worried since I know I'll max it out in Act 2 regardless but it's fun to come up with a reason for why things aren't moving ahead with the romance other than "I'm not to that part of the game yet."

I get it now. I like it! --------------- I was thinkign about the point system just now. In both Origins and 2 you have this bar staring you in the face. Now, in Origins, you just plain don't get content unless you get high enough. In 2, if you aren't high enough, characters will betray you. In Inquistion, they got rid of the bar and there is still content you won't get if you aren't high enough. But generally, the important scenes, everyone gets them. Like, first game of DAI, I didn't get the cookies scene or an offer to be a Red Jenny, and I had no idea. The two largest betrayals are built in, Rainwall and Solas. you have to be pretty bad just to get the weaker betrayal of their leaving. On the one hand, I'm irritated that I can't see the bar. On the other, it makes me feel a lot more "free" to just play as my Quiz, although I DID look up the Judgement Scene outcomes of points. That was the only place I cheated, I guess. I don't know which I prefer now. I feel more relaxed about Origins now, because now I know there iare enough gifts to get you past any natural difference of opinion. And with 2, I just look up each mission, decide what's in character, then bring along the right companions. And also know who's the most important to focus on (Sibling and Isabella Act 1, Isabella Act 2). And knowing who to focus on helps, because that leaves all 3 acts for all the rest, so I don't feel trapped. But that information comes with familiarity. Which do you prefer?

I don't terribly mind not seeing the bar, if the greetings and dialog give you a fairly good idea of where you stand with that character. Also it's nice to not see that nobody likes me and the majority of the party hates me like in Origins . They never seem to appreciate my gifts of delicious onions. But I wouldn't mind a toggle. Turn the approval bar off for the first playthrough, so you can go by the gut, then have the bar visible when the science runs begin. --- As for what was done today. Blackwall told Hamin a story about a dog. I have heard it before, but missed it this time because I had to let the real dog out, such a shame. Hamin did not look terribly interested. Hamin also failed spectacularly at securing the Qunari alliance and got ranted at by Solas for drinking Well Water. The rant was slightly new to me, since all the Well drinkers before Hamin took Solas with them to the Temple, but Hamin preferred the council of magical mustaches. After their little spat they made up and slept together, conversing in dreams. Then later on he found Cole arguing with Solas about binding. Hamin made a mental note to ask Bull to stop putting ideas in the boys head. And also something about buying a Rivanni amulet. Finally Hamin met the mysterious Bianca. I want to like her, I really do, she has that snarky charm, but the eyeball thing just makes me so mad. Then I got overwhelmed by Hamin's quest backlog and decided to do something else.

Slowly winnowing down Nathan's Act 1 quest log.
Shepherded the wolf...er, the saarebas....out of Kirkwall only to get attacked by more qunari. Qunari....Tal'Vashoth....they're all of 'em hair-triggered if you look at them wrong. Kind of hard to tell the difference, really. Mentioned Anders was a mage, then after the battle I reloaded to use the "you can't have him" line instead to gain Anders' friendship points. Yay, I made it to 50%.
Found and rescued Keran. Anders used his super spirit skills (uh, not really) to determine that Keran wasn't possessed. I actually like Merrill's method better but since I'm not romancing her this game, she didn't get to come. Dumped Anders back at his neglected clinic, then went to break the bad news to Cullen. Convinced him that Keran should be allowed to stay in the order. I never really understood the reaction from Cullen in this quest - if anyone should have been kicked out of the order for possibly becoming demon-infested, it would have been him! You'd think he could sympathize with what Keran went through since it mirrors his own experience in Ferelden.
Wandered the streets of night Hightown but haven't been able to trigger enough mook mobs to get the hide-out reveal yet. Lowtown and the Docks are a lot safer though.
Up next: more wandering in Hightown, then heading out for some mystery meeting with an unknown person requesting a favor (aka Act of Mercy). Might also drop by the Dalish camp to check on Feynriel (and get a gold sovereign from Marethari as a reward). I have more than enough coin for the expedition, but I also want to buy Hubert's tome and the two from Black Emporium for extra stats, etc.. I think I need 70 gold for all three, but I'm only at about 105 right now.

Just started Origins. Going to try and finish with a male Dalish rouge who I plan to romance Morrigan with. I hoping to make this my alternate cannon. I gave him Mythals vallaslin so that after the events of DA:I, when she gets back together with him his face will remind her of her mother.

Getting to be late in Act 2 in my rogue Hawke playthrough. I put off triggering "All That Remains" as long as possible, but eventually I had nothing left to do. Just had the opening scene with Gamlen. I really wish there had been another conversation with Leandra before that quest triggers.

I think crafting a Warden that would do the Ultimate Sacrifice has depressed me. She has no interest in reforming the Circle, only being away from it. Her dream of returning home to her people was burned to ashes when the clan in the Brecillian Forest treated her like trash. Jowan, her adopted Circle Brother, she sent away so he would be safe. The one person she fell in love with, Zevran, just wants FWB. She had considered hedge magery, but between the Mad Mage's insanity and Morrigan's completely unpleasant personality, she doesn't see that outcome going very well either. She does not want to be bound to another organization that forces her to serve others over her own desires, the Grey Wardens. Surana does feel responsibility for saving Fereldan from the Blight, so it's not like she doesn't care. She's just lost, because she's trying to see a future, past the Blight, and she can't see one at all. I should just hurry up and get this RP over with, huh? How does anyone do a happy play through with a Warden that would do the Ultimate Sacrifice? The US ending is a good ending for all those players who dislike headcanons or to be wandering ghosts in DAI and forever.I never considered it as sad, these people don't exist so any death is fake,I'm more sad when my hamster is angry than when my wearden "died".I used first Loghain to see his funeral(but there was no funeral)so i decided to use my warden to unlock it. The US was never an issue for me,I dodged it only because it was more fitting in my view that Loghain had his chance to try to fix some of the mistakes he did. I'm a great supporter of Epicuro and Socrate and their philosophy, since death and life cannot coexist and there is a fundamental incompatibility between the two,the fear of death is just for fools because men will never know NOR experience death.

Today, I basked in the excellence of debating what outcome was the best to lead Fereldan forward with my husband for like half an hour at a coffee shop. *rolls around in the nerdiness* I'm so happy I can talk Dragon Age with someone in real life. Telling my husband to play Dragon Age instead of cleaning house- totally worth it.

Finished Act 1 and made the initial chat rounds in Act 2. Survived the Deep Roads (barely). Needed 2 tries to kill the dragons. My whole team (Varric, Fenris, Anders, and Nathan) wiped the first time and everyone but Nathan wiped again the second time. I don't remember ever having that much trouble with them before. The big one and a handful of babies chased Nathan all over the place but he finally outlasted them. Thunder (Dog) helped him out.
He told the demon to get stuffed and then killed the rock wraith. I like Varric one-shotting the demon later if you agree to its terms but he couldn't disappoint Anders like that. So, no deal.
Cullen dragged Bethany off to the Circle and Mother is plotting marriage for Nathan. Grrrr.
Nathan's journal is back to bursting....he's got lots to do again. First up - looking for Javaris.

So I decided to just start up a trilogy run. Was curious before I get too far into Origins, was there ever a fix for that game slowing down after a few hours of play?
