Mara stopped by the Storm Coast to pick up Bull and the Hinterlands for Blackwall (BEWARE - 4K images behind the spoiler tags) Then it was back to Haven for some talky-talk and crafting (new crew needs new gear, after all). Then off to the Hinterlands to have a poilte, but firm, conversation with Fiona in Redcliffe. Got sidetracked somewhat as Mara continued punching people into the Breach. This one landed on the rock just under the orange coloured bush at the back of the ravine... Then decided to have a go at the Fereldan Frostback...it did not end well. Decided to call it a day at that, because it's nearly midnight and gaming all night isn't really something I can handle anymore.

Oh, it makes you dizzy, I've got to keep my eyes on the ground. i.imgur.com/ddtA0Dd.jpgI had to go with a Grey Warden and two other recruits into the Wilds. We need darkspawn blood and some old treaties. They seemed happy to have me lead. i.imgur.com/pTBshYV.jpgTopside mushrooms are so colorful and pretty, not at all like the drab gray things we have in Dust Town. i.imgur.com/rhFgBQf.jpgWhen we found the chest where the treaties should have been, it was empty. Just then a skinny young woman came out of the ruins behind us. i.imgur.com/lCGCdza.jpgThe boys were scared of her, but she could swoop on me anytime. i.imgur.com/GAl1qaL.jpgShe took us to see her mother, who gave us the papers. The boys were scared of the old woman as well. What a bizarre thing to be scared of. Humans are funny. i.imgur.com/Cxeh8mc.jpgThe other two recruits died drinking the darkspawn blood. They clearly had never tried my mothers nug hoof soup. So now I'm a full Grey Warden, we have to climb a tower and light a signal fire. We had to kill many darkspawn on the way up, but this one was a biggie. i.imgur.com/rbHULmK.jpgI remember killing the big one... i.imgur.com/tvxf8XR.jpgThen the next thing I know, I'm in a house and the girl from the Wilds is bandaging my wounds. She claimed her mother turned into a huge bird and plucked us from the tower. Can Humans do that? The one in the tower could throw fire from his fingers, so who knows? i.imgur.com/7iPvy8s.jpgNow me and Alister are the only Grey Wardens left, and the old woman sent her daughter with us to end the blight. On the way we came across a group of darkspawn and the animal I had put a muzzle on back at Ostagar. It was pretty good at killing darkspawn, so I took it with us. i.imgur.com/5RKromK.jpgSome bandits tried to shake us down, they wouldn't have lasted five minutes in the Carter. i.imgur.com/9601J7G.jpgAlister asked if I read the treaties. You think your better than me because you can read? How about you go and end the blight on you own then asshole. i.imgur.com/lGcJmQU.jpgA guy in Lothering tells us the man Alister wanted to go to for help is deathly ill. If we want to stop this blight, we need to go to Orzammar and get the warrior caste who know how to fight darkspawn. i.imgur.com/rr33roW.jpg

I gave up trying to get femHawke to look right in DAI. The nose is all wrong (too round) and the right hairstyles aren't available. Male Hawke is much easier to replicate. I make it easy for myself by having Hawke look like my Inquisitor.

I have not done anything specifically in the Dragon Age yet. Just looking at more trailers. Getting more and more in the mood for my next playthrough, but my gf was watching it with me, and she said 'you know I just might be getting in the mood to play this.' Now for backstory purposes I bought the game some months ago for her birthday and she is...well barely out of the Hinterlands. Needless to say I was quite happy.

We rescued a couple of Dwarfs from darkspawn on the road out of Lothering. The boy is as thick as the stone, but they are the first of my kind I'd seen since leaving Orzammar. So I was happy to let them camp with us. i.imgur.com/796HOBN.jpgThen on the road to Orzammar we ran into a merchant who gave me a golem control rod for free. I figured there had to be a catch, but FREE. We just had to fight our way through a few darkspawn. i.imgur.com/TFhz0Bz.jpgBut of course, the rod didn't work. A few more darkspawn and we came across a group of Humans, hold up behind a magic barrier. i.imgur.com/5jLOAz6.jpgThe witch let his barrier down, and I asked him about the golem. He said if we rescued his daughter from downstairs, he would tell us how to activate the golem. So we kill a few demons. i.imgur.com/KeNDX05.jpg And find the girl downstairs talking to her cat. I'd never seen a cat before, so I thought nothing of it when the cat asked us to free it. I thought if it means the girl will go back to her father, why not. Then she turned into a demon. Morrigan must have fancied it, judging by the look I got when we killed it. i.imgur.com/M5sfmTm.jpgThe Human was good to his word and we were able to bring the golem to life. I have to say, it wasn't as appreciative as you might expect. But though I had no control over it, he had nothing better to do, and agreed to follow us. i.imgur.com/aYQxCNa.jpg I couldn't wait to march back into Orzammar with my own golem. But we were attacked outside the gates by Human mercenaries. i.imgur.com/HjWmM8t.jpgI bet the guard on the door was seething when he had to let a brand back in Huh Huh Huh. i.imgur.com/YttakJ3.jpgI bought myself some new armor and picked up a couple of trinkets for the girls. One of the smith caste offered me some Lyrium to take a message to the Circle for her. i.imgur.com/v2WliQ2.jpgLeliana was pleased we were helping her. i.imgur.com/RquuvVs.jpgAnd I think Morrigan had forgotten about the whole demon killing thing when I gave her a golden mirror. She thought there might be a price to pay for such a gift, but didn't seem to mind if there was. i.imgur.com/lsXQwlV.jpgI wanted Morrigan to meet my sister Rica. We were attacked in the streets of Dust Town. I Love it! Nearly bought a tear to my eye. i.imgur.com/3vJ9fbw.jpgThere was nobody home at the old place, so I thought I'd better get the business out the way and talk with the Deshers. I almost didn't recognize Rica in the Diamond Quarter, dolled up like the Queen of Orzammar. She told be she had a son to Prince Bhelen and that she lived with Mother in the Royal Palace. She felt sure the Prince would help us once he became King. She took me to meet Vartag Gavorn, the Prince's second. i.imgur.com/8VewQ1a.jpg Well it seemed even getting to meet with Bhelen was going to take more than a nod and a wink. So we decided to head back to camp for the night, before traipsing off into the Deep Roads in search of Lord Dace. Morrigan was feeling the cold. i.imgur.com/0wW6WIy.jpgi.imgur.com/jlEkkfd.jpgWaiting for me in the morning was a Human who called himself Levi of the coin. He thought it would be in both our interests to reclaim the old Wardens base at Soldiers Peak. It sounded more interesting than the Deep Roads, and Lord Dace might have returned by the time we get back. On the steps of Soldiers Peak, Morrigan said she had a gift for me. It was a ring, though she assured me it meant nothing and was purely for practical reasons, in that it would enable her to track me if we were separated. I said thankyou for the gift, and when we get back to Orzammar, I'll get you a ring that means nothing as well. i.imgur.com/LyNOtXG.jpgWe cleared the Peak of both demons and undead, and picked up some nice Warden Commander Armour, although it is too heavy for me to wear. i.imgur.com/WNJoRPM.jpgi.imgur.com/dwtGi8L.jpgi.imgur.com/jRTfD2t.jpgWhen the Job was done, Shale was sad to leave. He said he hadn't seen a single bird since we got there. i.imgur.com/G6teD69.jpgBack at camp, Leliana confided that she hadn't been entirely honest with me. And that she may have neglected to tell me she left Orlais while being hunted. All of the sudden, she seemed much more appealing to me. i.imgur.com/5zqRYp7.jpg

Near as I can tell, clicking on Sandal about 5000 times. I don't think it will trigger until Act 3 though.

Currently slogging through MotA - just finished the party and now it's time to sneak through the chateau. I don't care for the sneak mechanic but trying to fight all of the guards with just Tallis is a nightmare since she's so horribly spec'ed. Once this is done, I just have The Last Straw. Discovered something new. In DAI, Maryden sings/recites this song. I thought it was new to Inquisition, but it's actually the codex for the sword Bloom in DA2: This guy always cracks me up. His tantrum is just so.....Orlesian.

We were heading back to Orzammar when we were attacked by a group of well trained mercenaries. They turned out to have been sent by Leliana's ex-girlfriend, to kill her and anyone with her. I told her we would go to Denerim and get it sorted. Not only because I'm curious to see what she looks like. i.imgur.com/5D2LUEv.jpgFirst stop in Orzammar was Tapsters, to sure up House Helmi's vote, and buy a flagon of ale. No, not because of Leliana's story about the last time she drunk Dwarven ale and woke up in Jader wearing only her shoes and a towel. Alright, that was part of it. i.imgur.com/pJG1S4h.jpgThen it was into the Deep Roads to track down Lord Dace. i.imgur.com/yUGjA8S.jpgi.imgur.com/YE9cRim.jpgHe was glad he found out Harrowmont was a lying cheat before he cast his vote. i.imgur.com/pLsZovm.jpgSo we finally got to meet Rica's prince charming, he must be an acquired taste. He said Jarvia was running the Carter, and he wanted us to take her down. So combining business with pleasure really. i.imgur.com/6IiKfvo.jpgWhile in the Palace we had to face a couple of dragons. The first I could finish off with my daggers. i.imgur.com/KfQ9C8S.jpgThe second I just had to stand there and listen to it. At least she had clean clothes and knew who she was abusing this time. i.imgur.com/7hguMd1.jpgMorrigan has meet my Mother and is still with me, so that's a good sign. She thinks we have more in common than she had realized. i.imgur.com/dKvkNp1.jpg I had seen Nadezda in Dust Town earlier. She would know how to find Jarvia. But then I run into Leske, my old partner in crime. He told me the Carter were using our old house as a front entrance.

A warrior caste in the Shaperate was trying to find proof of her noble heritage. I offered to help find the records in exchange for some of the wealth. But when she said "what can a casteless brand do" I said "nothing", but I will keep an eye out to make sure they are never found. i.imgur.com/6mqFed2.jpgLeaving the Diamond Quarter, we witnessed an argument between a guardsman and a drunken warrior. It seems this Oghren also wants to find the Paragon Branka. He was once a noble, and now barely a warrior caste. i.imgur.com/0bEU3JN.jpgI knew as soon a the Shaper's assistant described him, that shady Corebit had nicked the tome. I never liked the scumbag, and now he didn't have Beraht to back him up, I could settle some old scores. But he had already sold the tome to fixer Gredin. The fixer recognized me and attacked on sight. He hadn't moved the book on yet, so I sold it to Jetrin to help fund our Deep Roads expedition. i.imgur.com/YzTNPnI.jpgIn the commons, a smith caste was preying to the stone, for the safe return of her son. I offered to try and find him or his fate. i.imgur.com/sQfBZce.jpgBranka's husband wanted to join us. What he knows of Branka might come in handy, so I said why not. Just don't breath on any open flames. i.imgur.com/c4fXICy.jpg We followed Bhelens map and had a pretty uneventful journey to Caridins Cross. Harrowmont had hired mercenaries waiting for us and things got a little hot.

Today we bought the recepie for fireprofing the inquisition. You see, my little Qunari is getting nowhere with her hopefully one day boyfriend. But I know that he likes dragons, so off we went, I think the dragon had fun at least the things we do for love. Will do some potion-fixing next time.

Mentally wrote out some fan fiction. I haven't gotten deep into the Hinterlands yet, but I've got this character cemented. Here's her background:
Rowan was born in the alienage in Starkhaven. Unlike the alienages of Denerium and Kirkwall, it isn't a wretched place to be (*I checked the lore beforehand.) Her parents loved her and encouraged her love of books. She was all in all a happy 12 year old. Until the Vael line began to fall apart.
Without oversight, the guards started taking bribes to do "crackdowns" on alienage shops. The shems didn't like the competition. Things got more severe, with nobles strolling into the alienage and taking whatever women they want. Especially younger elven girls. Beatings became common and there was a state of fear in the air.
Rowan's parents, fearful for her safety, sent her off to look for the Dalish. They gave her a necklace, a piece of artfully cut rose quartz on a silver chain. "This was your grandmother's," they said. "She was Dalish. Show this to the clan and they'll let you in."
She ran off into the night, clutching her few belongings. Some clothes, her favorite book. A blanket to use as a bedroll and her necklace. She ran for what seemed like forever, even though it turned out to be only two days. The Dalish found her, exhausted and sick from exposure. They took her in and she became clan.
For the first couple of years, things were great. She lost her city accent and fell in love with the Dalish lore. For awhile, she believed that Mythal and the like really were gods. Then came to the time to get her tattoo.
They approached her with the needles. It looked like a brush, with very sharp and tiny porcupine needles. Wanting to prove herself, Rowan agreed to have small branches around her eyes. Mythal was Rowan's favorite, as protector and mother to the Dalish. Bracing herself for the pain, the green ink was tapped into her skin.
It didn't take. For days she bleed out the ink, the magical dye going out of her skin. By the time the week was out, there was very little trace of where her markings to Mythal had been. So she agreed to do it again. The same reaction happened. The Keeper didn't want to try again, due to possible scarring around the eyes.
*RP note: I've got her tattto colors done to where it almost completely blends in with her skin tone. It's damn near impossible to see.
As a result, Rowan was an outcast. Everywhere she went in camp, cries of "Flat-ear" rang in the air. Even the adults were looking at her as an outsider, a freak. Her only close friend was the Quartermaster. He had noticed Rowan playing with a bow and taught her how to use it. How to track a deer and slip past human cities without a sound. Rowan used to steal books from the shem houses and return them the following night. Stories of "a spirit who loves to read," circulated among some of the tiny villages north of Kirkwall.
A scout, a loner but wanting to desperately help her new family. She questions everything. She grew up in the shadow of the Chantry. Many of the sisters were quick to denounce the elves. She never had a place here. Rowan was also questioning the Dalish gods. Asking questions like, "Are you sure they weren't just powerful people? Why are these marks important," made sure she spent more time alone in the woods than with other people.
Perfect for Solas.

Tbh, doing Solas's romance. I'm bored. I ain't at all one of those Solasvallen people.... I've done enough romances to be completely dismissive of it. Before I dropped my mage in favor of a better world state (as well as missing being an archer,) I'd gotten to Skyhold. I enjoy it so far, but Cullen has a more traditional romance and Iron Bull has a more "friends with awesome benefits" vibe. IB is actually my favorite, but I'm trying to broaden my horizons. Elves aren't my favorite race, but this game has made them more interesting. One thing is for sure: Rowan is a much more solitary and asocial person than Aspen (my mage) was. Poor girl. Name: Rowan Race: Elf Occupation: Scout for her clan, reluctant Herald Hair: Black, short and boyish Eyes: Light purple with faint blue flecks Favorite Weapon: Ironwood Longbow Favorite Animal: Wolf Religion: None. She's an agnostic that grew up around the Chantry during childhood, and learned Dalish lore in her teens. She believes in neither. Makeup: Almost non-existent. Her lips are a realistic looking pink (intensity only to about 2,) no blush or eyeshadow at all. She has a tiny bit of underbrow color for extra depth to her face. I did give her black eyeliner and jacked up the intensity to max. It looks pretty nice.

I'm just past looking towards doing it; afterall, I'm just doing it to be speedy now adays (I'm at Adamant and my girl's level 13). I really do not care for DA:I's romances to be honest, but boredom has droven me to the point...

I had to If you can't beat em' Her hair is short for practical reasons. It's a lot easier to use a bow with short hair. To be blunt, I feel the in-game ponytail looks like shit. I'm not going with a shaved style (spare me) so short hair it is. She's straight, if that was your meaning. I've played lesbians/bisexual women before, but not this time.

She's straight, if that was your meaning. No it wasn't, just that the game gives you 40 versions of short boyish hair. My own inquisitor ended up with practical hair.

I've defeated the game four times... I'm just past looking towards doing it; afterall, I'm just doing it to be speedy now adays (I'm at Adamant and my girl's level 13). I really do not care for DA:I's romances to be honest, but boredom has droven me to the point... I've completed the game 21 times. I currently have two characters that I created however long ago. Not sure when I will get around to completing those playthroughs. About 2/3 of my playthrough I romanced no one. On my ps3, I did a playthrough that took 10 hours 26 minutes. I finished at level 16. I might see how fast I can complete the game on the ps4. For now, I will continue my Skyrim Special Edition playthrough

I was among the posters that spent a lot of timing bitching about the amount of shaved hair with sideburns and receeding hairlines. One of the few mods I truly miss from the PC version is the No Sideburns mod. Then again, this is a BioWare game after all. I've been a fan of theirs for almost 20 years and the hair has always sucked. The sky looks blue, water is wet and BioWare does a terrible job of hair design.

Today we bought the recepie for fireprofing the inquisition. You see, my little Qunari is getting nowhere with her hopefully one day boyfriend. But I know that he likes dragons, so off we went, I think the dragon had fun at least the things we do for love. Will do some potion-fixing next time. How's it going SilentK? Nice to see you posting in the thread.
