phoray Yay Leske! He is my favorite. You can get a line from him during the first talk that implies him and Brosca might have attempted to be intimate once, but it didn't quite work out. And I'm sad you didn't get to see the goodbyes from Rica, since she has one of my favorite goodbye line ever. Leske also has a goodbye talk. You can get both of their talks if you don't jump at Duncan's offer right away, if I remember correctly.

Played the Brosca ORigin for the first time today. Wow! It was great! The moment when: they find out you aren't Everd and you toss your helmet to the ground! I chose the line, "And I beat all of your best!" At that point, my Brosca was like, going to die anyway, not going to die with my head held in shame! I felt so proud.
Other things. I got a crush on Leske immediately! stab to the heart that he liked Rica so much, my Naderra Brosca wasn't even on his radar. Friend zoned SO HARD.
So glad I could kill Berhat, the way he was talking with his goons about my sister! Ya know, I like having siblings better than parents. Parents are always trying to impart advice adn tell you what to do. Siblings just get to be family
And man! Duncan was using his reasonable politic voice so hard when he was conscripting me! I felt like I was being inducted into the Knighthood on the spot!
And I'm sad I didn't even get one line of goodbye with Rica before I left with Duncan. Glad she likes her patron, Bhelen, though. I always did wonder if it was a forced thing.
And I'm worried a bit about Leske. We did kill Jarvia's lover... And he's left behind in all that. :/ Don't tell me otherwise! I want to find out about what happens to him later and not be spoiled!
In advance, I had guessed that I would like the Brosca origin 2nd to the city elf. As much as I liked it, I think I'm going to go with 3rd place. Tabris, Surana (which is a magical city elf!), and Brosca third. Cousland 4th, Mahariel 5th, and Aeducan a super distance 6th. I guess if I put Amell on there, I'd go about even with Mahariel. Edit add: Oh yeah! Why can't I sell that stupid nugget of lyrium! The guy said I could. BAH. Cailan has Zevran's hairstyle. First time I ever noticed. Dwarf gets the same racist options as the elf origins. BAH. I want to be racist in a dwarven way!
I really like Brosca origin. Going back to Orzammar feels a lot different than with any other one, even noble dwarf.

Something like, you can't take me from this place a sodding moment too soon. And then bam, we left. That's a nice goodbye. Other funny moments. Line from Rica: "...unless you save us all from teh Darkspawn and become a paragon..." <- HAHAHAHA FORESHADOW MUCH Line from Leske, 'Go talk to that Grey Warden. Say something like, "Grey Warden ser, may I drink your bath water?" melbellaI'm hoping for a better more interesting Orzammar experience this time around. Last game of Origins with Surana I was so over it.

I'm hoping for a better more interesting Orzammar experience this time around. Last game of Origins with Surana I was so over it.
I like the creepy Deep Roads part of Orzammar. Most of the time I find the Orzammar/politicking part of it meh. Clearing out Jarvia and the Carta is pretty fun though, and there's lots of loot to make it worth the time.
Edit for Bruenor update: Made it to the Storm Coast. It's really wet there. Met up with Iron Bull and his merc band, the Chargers, and decided to hire them on. Cass was there and she didn't object - so far, so good. Cleared out some bandits who turned out to be part of a group called the Blades of Hessarian. Apparently all the religious fruitcakes are coming out of the woodwork now. Anyway, took out their leader and now they work for the Inquisition or, well, for Bruenor.
All the camps are set up, but still no Wardens. Found a couple of their old camps and some journal entries (why did those get left behind?) but that's it. They'll search for a couple more days but so far it looks to be a dead end.

For any other Origin, you feel kind of dirty supporting Behlen; there's really no reason to believe he has an enlightened attitude toward the Casteless (unless you're metagaming). A dwarf commoner actually knows what's at stake (especially after being called "Brand" numerous times). This origin and city elf hit hardest on the theme of racism/prejudice. Given that the dwarf commoner is uneducated and likely to be totally ignorant of the surface world, that should make for some interesting choices...

Naderra Brosca, 1st person writing. I'm a thick gal for a duster; muscular, tough. Got that way for a couple reasons, but mostly from when mama was still making coin off her looks we ate good. Rica came into the picture later, and then mama wasn't getting as many customers. At first, that made mama angry. Said Rica ruined her good looks. She eventually got mad at me, though, for not having any to make coin with. So, I turned to thug work, because cleaning bronto dung wasn't keeping mama in ale. Although it made me sturdy and strong for when I sold my skills as a thug. Mama has always told me that I'm pretty simple minded. Ya, under pressure I could make something up to keep my buns off the fire; but come up with some clever grand story to manipulate people my way? Eh, not so much. It's too bad, really. I hear there's coin in it.
Rica said I'd get fewer scars if I stuck to the shadows more. Stealth, she calls it. HA! I'm not graceful or patient enough for that. I'd rather jump in, daggers a blur, and take care of business. Can't make an ale skin out of a nug's ear, is what mama always says. Well, if she's sober enough to remember what a nug is. Never forgets what an ale skin is, though.
It's rough, though. Not the nugs ear, the thug work. Paragon's honor, I don't have the stomach for cold blooded murder or robbing honest folk. Although, can't quite describe what honest folk looks like. I know it when I see it, I figure. Just like stepping in bronto dung. Now now, that all said, I expect payment for work that's been done, I just see no sense in putting the fear in people. Dark enough world as it is.
In this world, people who have more make those who have less do bad things to get by. That's just the way of it.
Rica was getting the shake down from Beraht. Rica was getting all flustered by the topic, but I told her I wasn't bothered by it. She's got her slim figure and long shiny red hair and her smarts, and I've got my knives, and we're dusters. This is how it works and it's best we stop being so fussy about the skills we have to do the work we do. Still, it bites duster balls that we got a boss like Beraht.
Headed out on a job with Leske. Gave him a hard time about his crush on Rica. Teased him about that time he asked for a tumble with me and made him blush. Thing is, I think that didn't work out because of me. He was telling me he was getting all hot and bothered, but I didn't feel a thing, and I think it made him feel awkward and call it off. It's possible I like girls? But then, I really hardly think about the whole thing. But ever since, it's been Rica this, and Rica that. I hope she hasn't been encouraging him. I don't think she has, though, because she seems a bit sweet on the guy she has an "appointment" with.
Aw, nughumpers. I screwed up the job. I choked at the last minute and just sent the man running for the surface, short a few lyrium nuggets. What was I thinking? I wasn't, was I? I just couldn't tell Leske to sink his blades into a guy that was begging for his life when all he did was skim a little. But what about my life? What about Leske's? Rica will probably be okay no matter what, though. She's smart.
Whew. Leske helped, but Beraht bought it that we'd killed the guy. Leske is pretty clever. If Rica didn't have a prime ticket out of Dust Town, I guess those two wouldn't have been a bad match after all. Jarvia didn't like us, but we got another job. I'll work harder to do it this time. just rig the Provings, easy right?
Sodding...humping brontos! Everd is stone cold drunk passed out on the floor. I've got to make this happen!
so I say to Leske, "Hey, this may be a dumb idea, but how about I wear his armor and make a go of it myself?" Leske thought I was brilliant. Ha! That's a first. Felt good, though, having an idea come up so quick like that and being the smart one.
I guess I wasn't so brilliant after all. Never occurred to me to tell Leske to keep Everd in his room. I'm going to die a nameless duster, here, right now. and I probably killed Leske too. I wish I'd gotten to brush through Rica's hair one last time. She always did let me do that right before she went to the Bathhouse on accounts of my hands always being so dirty. Her hair was always so soft. Still.
I beat them all, their soddest Best of House some and such. Me, a duster, a thug. So, I took off my helmet and threw it to the ground, and I glared at them all. I said a silent prayer to the ancestors, unheard surely, before I raised my blades against those before me. This was my moment and if there is one good thing about dirtying the Proving grounds, it's that they'll always remember me...even if they'll never know my name. .

You know, there I was talking to Leske yesterday, and I was like... He kinda sounds like Varric sometimes. Just looked it up, and I nailed it! BAM! For someone who has poor listening comprehension, I sure can call it. I called a recurring character dressed up as 4 different aliens in Star Trek too, my husband couldn't believe it. And I was pretty sure I'd already confirmed Fenris at that Templar in Lothering. But apparently he's also: Taliesen, Redcliffe militiaman, Harrowmont crier and Alarith. All surprises. I don't even know who Alarith is, but I'm going to be squinting at that Harrowmont crier hard next time. Edit add: guess I didn't have to: Still searching for a good song to make a music video for Zevran. I may have to go something instrumental in the long run, but I don't want to. And I kinda want to play with my Brosca today, but I've gotta study for my big test, and wasting one evening (yesterday) was enough. I'm going to drown myself in video games, sony vegas, and poser come December 7th.

On the downside, my stomach has been acting up over the last two days. On the plus side, I'm up to a little over 48 hours played with Rowan. --Took care of the Western Approach. Now, I've notice bantering firing a lot more than it did when I first played. I've also noticed more looping music, but the Approach is still very quiet. Killed the dragon using my usual party for the lizards (Solas/Varric/Cass.) I have taken Bull with me on that fight. He has a great line: "Boss, you're the best." --Did most of Emprise du Lion. I'm avoiding the dragons for the time being. I'm about to the point where I can run back. I don't have the mats for a Dragon-Slaying rune (need poison sacs,) but a master or superb Corruption rune does the trick. --Found "Kitty's" Amulet for the first time. It's a -100 to all resist amulet with some other stats I don't care about. The codex mentions a bit of orange cat fur stuck on it and the memories of a little girl. I checked my world state and the "Kitty" demon was banished. Apparently that's a new item that added in at some point during the year that I didn't play. --I've also almost finished another favorite zone of mine: Emerald Graves. Not only do I find it especially pretty, but it has one of my favorite dungeons in the game. The haunted Chateau. The story is very sad. I like it because it has nothing to do with the Rifts or red lyrium. For those that don't remember the story: A rich family had an only child, a girl. Probably around 9-11, judging from the pieces of her torn diary you find. Anyway, turns out this girl was a mage. Rather than sending her to the Circle, her parents decided to try to avoid the scandal. They hired a mage and a templar to try and bind her abilities. Then they locked her in the attic. Little wonder a demon found her. The demon (probably desire) made her family dance themselves to death, then also killed everyone else. The poor girl was eventually killed by the same demon and her body is used by another as an arcane horror for the last encounter in there. Ouch. --Tried to kill the dragon in the Storm Coast at level 17. Failed, regeared, tried again. No dice. That chick is going to die when I start the game back up, since I'm level 20. I'm going to kill the Emerald Graves dragon first though. --I've had Solas and Dorian in my party a lot this time around. There has been a lot of bickering regarding slavery. But finally Dorian commented on Solas' look. "Apostate hobo." --I have yet to do Adamant or Wicked Hearts. I'm taking care of as much as I can prior to that point. Except for the Hissing Wastes. I haven't been sleeping well and that zone is beyond dull to traverse. I don't usually use my mount in that zone in order to harvest. At least not much. --I have skipped every Ocularum in the game. I don't care about the bonus in the Oasis. I don't care about the trophy either. It's made my experience a lot more enjoyable. I hate the Oasis (my least favorite area in the game,) so being able to get in there, do the rifts and the quest in the spider cave and getting out is going to be nice. --I've also skipped most of the requisitions as well. I'm not wasting mats on power and influence. My power (before starting Abyss or Wicked Hearts,) is at 156. My influence is at 13 and if I really get into an influence crunch, I'll buy up some stuff from the vendor in Skyhold.

Also, good thing I read the Masked Empire prior to playing DA:I. I met Imshael and my characters don't like demons. Even my blood mage in DA:O didn't like them. See, I wouldn't have known who he was without the book. The fight went something like this: Imshael: Care to bargain? Rowan: Die, demon! Imshael: <sigh> Choice. Spirit. Me: That was even more true on my dwarf.

Huh.. I missed this thread. I think I'll finish my Templar's run right away, because all she has left is the Arbor Wilds and final fight against Cory-face in the main story. Currently, she's at is the Hissing Wastes exploring Dwarves ruins and taking out the Venatori. Plus two high dragons left to slay, the Sandy Howler and Highland Ravager.

She's always the last one I get done. It's the only dragon fight on Normal difficulty that has me breaking out the resist potions. I remember the first time I saw her. Too bad she saw me first. Oh and I wanted to throw this in here. It's my end game bow that I used on my first character. All of the mats are from Patch 2, so you don't need anything save the base game installed to use it. I got the Masterwork Spiked Longbow in the Hissing Wastes. It's in the dwarven tomb by the Sand Craigs camp. The bow itself is mostly dragon mats, with some lurker fur. The crit damage comes up to 102% when you throw in the +63% from the grip. This was the same bow I was using the first time I beat Cory. I'm going to rebuild it after Wicked Hearts and Abyss: m.imgur.com/a/hTdwe

I've been doing a run-through as a male Cousland warrior. I hardly ever play as a male, or as a warrior. I already stuffed up once, because the dialog options are a bit different. I told Bella, any man would find her attractive, so then I never got the option to give her money for a new start in Denerim. And because I had kept everyone alive during the attack, she has to keep working for Lloyd. I've opted to stick with the Morrigan romance to the end, but when Leliana told me how lucky Morrigan was to have me, I nearly broke down and gave her the andraste's grace flowers. Also, for the first time ever for me, Sophia dropped the warden tower shield, same spec as Duncan's and quite good for this early in the game. Alister's meeting with Goldanna wasn't all he expected.

Have been avoiding Inquisition because I don't want to bother with the Hinterlands. So today I create a new character and play her until she reaches the Hinterlands, instead of wrapping up with one of the characters who are nearly finished with the place. Flawless logic. But am excited to see how I feel about her face when I load the game up next time. She's the bees knees now, but I suspect I will be questioning my taste later.
And for something useful to add. Kitty's amulet was added in patch number 10 and came from a contest "Untold relics of Thedas" where some users created ideas for items and their stats. It's super useful for characters (especially mine) who spend most fights eating dirt, because of it's high revival chance. The contest also gave us Malika's Guard, Andraste's Sacrifice and Ring of Doubt. Hurrah! And now, back to channeling my soulmate Flora Harimann.
a minor add: On the Chateau, I read it as the family was having one of their parties, when the girl comes down and the demon makes all the guests dance themselves to death, leaving the parents alive to think about how badly the plan to bind the girls powers went. Then they are killed/die later. I also read it as the girl was confined to the whole house, not just the attic and the demon found her through the box. Not that one wouldn't have found her anyways, but it adds that extra bit of "you really messed up this time".

I'm kind of doing the same thing as you....avoiding Adamant and Wicked Eyes until I've explored the other areas. (Which of those two are you going to do first?) For role-playing purposes, I'm letting the companion quests guide me to various areas. I started Exalted Plains to help Solas' friend and then decided to help the Dalish clan. Then when I started to clear out the military outposts, I found out about the Freeman of the Dales and that drew me to the Emerald Graves. After killing the Freemen and finding the smugglers, Cullen then sent me to Emprise. You definitely have a much better understanding of what happened at the Chateau than I do. I knew about the mage child. (Shades of Connor...) I missed how the parents died or what became of the child. It's a pity the arcane horror that shows up is the generic arcane horror rather than something looks like a little girl. I always do the shard hunt to fuel my farming operation at the oasis. Chasing the shards forces you to visit important areas you might otherwise miss.

Huh.. I missed this thread. I think I'll finish my Templar's run right away, because all she has left is the Arbor Wilds and final fight against Cory-face in the main story. Currently, she's at is the Hissing Wastes exploring Dwarves ruins and taking out the Venatori. Plus two high dragons left to slay, the Sandy Howler and Highland Ravager.Ah yes. I'm going to rebuild it after Wicked Hearts and Abyss: m.imgur.com/a/hTdwe+102% critical damage!? Yikes!! Almost one shot kills for non-boss opponents!

deadlydwarf Yep. It is as amazing as it looks. When I first played, it was right after the Day One patch came out. This was the bow that caused Cory's fight to bug out on me due to the damage. I did so much damage so fast that I bypassed plot flags. I missed two cutscenes, and after about 90 seconds of a black screen, the fight continued. Only I was in a different place and Cory's sliver of health would not go down. I reloaded and used no special attacks while plunking away at him. Thankfully the fight didn't bug out again, but it was dull. It was also a good thing that Allan (one of the BW devs) was on the forums at the time so I could tell him about that. It got fixed in the next patch. I love that bow. Oh and to answer your previous question, I'm doing the Ball first. I usually do.

But am excited to see how I feel about her face when I load the game up next time. She's the bees knees now, but I suspect I will be questioning my taste later. Ha, yes, although I am currently playing with a male warden face I created 10 years ago (mainly through laziness), I think my taste in Leliana's has improved over ones like this I created years ago. (bottom one is current and has survived 4 playthroughs)

To start off, here's my current Inquisitor: Katriel Lavellan. And here she is at Emprise de Leon in her Battlemage coat. (She really misses her Dalish gear.) i.imgur.com/34cff1i.png
She went to the Exalted Plains initially to help Solas' spirit friend. She then gave assistance to the Dalish clan they found nearby. Katriel and her team saw firsthand the devastation of the Orlesian Civil War and was shocked to see combatants on both sides besieged by demons. After clearing out many of the demons and closing some of the rifts, they became aware that the demon infestation was the work of a rebel group, the Freemen of the Dales who used pits filled with dead bodies to lure demons.
Katriel then took her team to the Emerald Graves which was largely under the control of the Freemen. She made contact with a local leader named Fairbanks who told Katriel were secretly allied with the Red Templars. This charge was validated after Katriel wiped out the Freemen first at a Veridium mine and then at an abandoned chateau. In both locations, they found Red lyrium "growing." They also found out that the Freemen were taking local people prisoner and sending them to Emprise de Leon for some unknown purpose. After defeating the largest concentration of Freemen holed up in a wooden lodge, Katriel's team then ran into several groups of red lyrium smugglers. On one occasion, she watched from a distance as a group of smugglers were being annihilated by a pair of giants. Using her "Ring of Doubt," she was able to retrieve evidence of their activities from the smugglers' wagon. Before she could smugly sneak away undetected, Cole decided to attack the giants. (For a Spirit of "Compassion," he's rather unpredictably violent!) However, both Solas and Varric like the dagger-wielding oddity. (And someone who's so thoroughly despised by Vivienne can't be all that bad!)
After turning over all evidence of the smugglers' operation to Cullen, he determined that a key area of operation for the Red Templars was the Emprise de Leon in Orlais. Katriel then took her team to Emprise and set up camp outside of Sarnia, a village indirectly devastated by the Orlesian Civil War. The river was completely frozen and the Red Templars had taken over the local mine and were taking local villagers away, never to be seen again. Outside the village, they ran into a Chevalier, Michel de Chevon, the former champion of Empress Celene, who was hunting a desire spirit named Imshael who was occupying Sulevin Keep, possibly in cooperation with the Red Templars.
Katriel and her team cleared out the Red Templar camps near Sarnia and were now making preparations to retake the mine from the Red Templars, after which they would storm the keep.

I've had that happen in Legacy when playing an assassin. You do too much damage to Cory too quickly and his environment attacks don't trigger properly. The battle becomes unending and he just won't die. I finally had to restart the battle in order to do less damage. Haven't had it happen in DAI though but that's ok since the longer the battle goes, the more of his trolling remarks you get to hear. I've had the cutscene bug out but that was due to graphic settings. Once I got those figured out it didn't happen anymore.

And I still think you should post your Leliana to Nexusmods!

Naderra Brosca I woke up, which was a surprise. And Leske, although he looked pretty bad off, was alive as well. Two good things! Then Jarvia told us Beraht was on his way to kill us. That was no good, so after I dug around looking for a pick, a found some wood and gave it to Leske to break us out of there. Of course, we run into every thug between the jail and the exit and had to kill them all. Leske tried being sneaky, and shook his head at every door I just opened with little fan fare and a twirl of my blades.
Eventually we found Beraht and overheard him offering my sister, Rica,up like a side of nug roast to his goons. Gotta say, shoving a blade in his throat was the highlight of my day. Guess it's back to bronto dung scooping. Not many carta going to be pleased I did that.
(As a side note,I now understand why the Jarvia hideout loot is always so lame. It's starter game stuff.)
So much for making a break for it. We must have missed a duster during our escape, because the authorities were tipped off about our exit. Amazingly enough, the Grey Warden I'd chatted with a bit before the proving showed up and insisted I was Grey Warden material. Me! Guess that means bronto dung is no longer in the picture! With a bitter sweet goodbye to Rica and a wink and a wave at Leske, I followed the human top side. Going through those double doors for the first time got my heart pounding. I was going to a world where my brand didn't matter. What would that even be like?

I still think you should post your Leliana to Nexusmods! I don't know where you can get the hair mod I use for her. I only know it as DAI Hairstyles-4364-2-0.rar I've got a feeling it was once on the Nexus and has been pulled. But if you have this mod, or know where to get it, I'll post the .mor and what else you need to get her looking like that.

I got Varric into a masterwork battle coat and did the same for Solas. I've also got mine and I forgot how damned nice those look. As an aside, my Inquisition colors are green and silver/white. The only one that doesn't have that color scheme is Blackwall, but will pretty soon.
I knocked out the Ball. Despite my best efforts, I did not get all of the things I needed done in order to get all three leaders to co-exist. I did unite Briala and Celene, so that was nice. Also, I tried to get all of the halla statues and their doors (including with whomever was trapped in the Royal Wing,) but I couldn't pull it off this time. Next time I'm using a walkthrough. I got 100 favor with the court but that's actually kinda easy not to screw up.
I changed up Rowan's look for the Ball and made her fairly girly. I gave her deep red lipstick and jacked up the intensity to max. I put her under eye color and eyeshadow color to dark grey and turned that up to max as well. Her hair was the shoulder-length that's parted on the right side. She looked awesome but it doesn't suit her all the time. First thing I did after the cutscene upon returning to Skyhold was cut her hair and dropped the makeup back down to low.
I've also started the process to make Cassandra the new Divine. I was going to do it with Leliana, since I know that Cass won't be around for Trespasser if she becomes Divine. For RP reasons, I'm going to go with Cass and use Iron Bull for the DLC. Cass' thoughts are exactly how Rowan feels about the Chantry, the Seekers and the mages.
I'm letting the PS4 rest for a few, since I know I've got a bunch of conversations coming up. Varric's quest is due as is Vivienne's and Cole's. Good thing I've got very high affection with Solas. I'm going to need it, considering that Cole is going to become a human (he's too unsettling for me as a spirit) and that Rowan is going to forgive the Wardens at Adamant.
