I wonder what my Hawke did in his off-screen hours that caused a woman to yell "Shove off, you!" when he was just walking by minding his own quest list.
I took Fenris and Anders along when visiting the Circle as that seemed like a good team-building activity.
Does anyone else here re-do almost every conversation because there is always a dialogue option that isn't what you expected? Or because you're torn about what your character should say.
I swear I got stuck talking to mother Giselle for 10 minutes.
Yeah, I've done that. It depends on the subject matter and my inquisitor as to whether it fits the pt I'm going for or not.
I wonder what my Hawke did in his off-screen hours that caused a woman to yell "Shove off, you!" when he was just walking by minding his own quest list.
I just assume she's yelling at somebody in my party, especially if Isabela's with me. Or Carver could have been rude or awkward, Merrill could have inadvertently interrupted a 'transaction', one of Varric's stories hit too close to home, ...
I love writing about Dragon Age. So far, I have 2 complete fanfic novels here: www.fanfiction.net/u/3493743/Norstaera & here: archiveofourown.org/users/Norstaera (also has Jasmine's Journal, a scrapbook). I wish there were more hours in the day for playing, writing, speculating, and intelligent & courteous debate. Sigh, RL is fine, but . . . Current RP character is Thene, angry 1/2 human, 1/2 elf woman, bsn.boards.net/post/562535.
My Lavellan had a little walk in Redcliffe and spoke to a few elven npcs. One of them, the guy who asks you to leave some flowers at his lover's grave, told my Inquisitor that he and his wife have always kept to the old ways despite being city elves, and expressed a little frustration at how the Dalish view them as children.
And there was this elven healer who correctly pointed out that being Dalish keeps you away from human abuse (well, mostly) and so does being with the Inquisition. This reminded me of Briala's guilt for being in a better position than most elves.
Honestly, I find it baffling that some fans complain endlessly about how the game doesn't give you enough content to feel immersed when playing a Dalish Inquisitor.

So finished Trespasser and enjoyed the story but the actual maps and combat annoyed me as usual. Think I found nearly everything in terms of loot but rushed a bit at the end so may have missed some things.
Chose to be Solas friend and to disband the Inquisition.
Not sure what I'll play next, requires some thought but I doubt I will ever play DAO, DA2 or DAI again until maybe DA4 is announced but if the Keep remains I am just not sure I have it in me.
Slightly (hopefully) stronger Redcliffe defenders for the Attack at Night quest (aka. the first Redcliffe battle against the undead)
A tome of Skill and Sundry added to Barlin's wears in Lothering (Barlin is in the inn where you find/recruit Leliana)
new dresses for Anora and Isolde (models from another mod)
and
a maul I added to the chest in the Dwarf commoner origin, for two-handed warriors...I don't currently recall the tier of said maul, but I believe it's a standard early level one
Always something to be killed, and I’m the one to do it – Hero of Ferelden ‘Hawke this, Hawke that,’ Why does everything fall to me? - Champion of Kirkwall Our concern must be the order and safety of this world, not the next. - The Inquisitor
People are messy, but they're trying, and I'm going to make sure they get that chance - Commander Shepard
I... accidentally made my Dalish Inquisitor a bit more pro Chantry than I'd planned to.
In her first conversation with Vivienne, Lavellan told her she would like to help restore order.
I don't think there was anything indicating that it was about the Chantry but it must have been, because in the conversation that came after I allied with the mages, she said that my Lavellan claimed to want to restore it.
I guess I can spin it as meaning that my Inquisitor respects everyone's religious rights or something like that, but still.

I'm sure it isn't the first time Vivienne misinterpreted someone else's comments to fit her own world view.

Out of curiosity to other players as I'm playing DAI, do you have the Sutherland glitch?
I progressed him and his company right up until where they have to be rescued at the Storm Coast. I went there immediately but there's no sign of them or the darkspawn. When I tried to travel out of there, the game was stuck in loading screen. I gave up on trying to complete this mission. This end mission has been glitched for many years, for me at least.

I deliberately didn't promote/send him on that mission at the war table so don't know. Sorry

Never have them glitch like that. The only thing I know abaut is that you can't leave Storm Coast after accepting that rescue and going there for the first time, otherwise it fails. Sorry I can't help

It doesn't happen for you? Hmmm. I did a search and this does happen to other players. Either a war table operation that failed to appear or they're not there at the area. I've to wonder if one of the mods caused the glitch.
I know for certain eyebrow mods is the cause of long loading times because I removed those and used the extended CC mod that improved the default eyebrows / CC instead. Loading time reverted back to mere seconds.
So if it's one of the mods that caused Sutherland and his company not to appear, what could it be? Free stores? Thicker female elven and human female arms No war table timer (for main and DLCs) No fog of war (for main and DLCs) Black and gold formal attire? <-- I doubt it's this one as I've only use it for the present PT. Black Raven mage attire Black Raven rogue attire Black Raven hood Trespasser schematic shop < I think I can do without this. Increased inventory. Prologue cloth (no more pyjamas). TMMHalaDoors. Mythal dialogue skip. ConversationCameraZoom. Quickerlooting. AncientSigils AncientSigilShop
I can do without the last two too since I hardly use those any more.

Denfinitely not a no war table timer, since I use those as well. Formal attire shouldn't either, since I use another mod for formal attire (I'd rule out attire mods altogether). If it's really a mod, my bet would be on no fog of war or conversation camera zoom, since those have the biggest impact on quest/area of the quest.

I've used most of those mods also and haven't had that particular glitch. So maybe the fog of war one like Rascoth suggests? The only time I've had problems with that quest is if I screw up one of the missions prior so they never get sent there, or have Iron Bull in the party when his quest is active, which triggers as soon as you travel there, and therefore I couldn't save Sutherland's crew.

Rascoth and melbella, interesting. I'll disable fog of war for main when I get the Sutherland rescue quest for the next PT. The present PT has progressed beyond saving Sutherland since I've already done Bull's quest.
I'll update when I can. Thanks for the suggestion. 😄

I`ve put aside my DAI Qunari playthrough for the time being. After arriving at Skyhold i became bored and i could only think how much i missed my canon/favorite inquisitor. After so many playthroughs, with so many different inquisitors, choices and romances, and without the next game inspiring me to create new worldstates, i think i will have more fun playing my canon characters. So i`ve decided to play my canon worldstate starting with DAO.
DAO
Liadan Cousland lost her family and her home to the treacherous Howe and started her journey to became a Grey Warden. Together with Duncan and her dog Dane, she arrived at Ostagar, where she met and talked to a bunch of people, namely the King, the Hero of River Dane, a senior mage, a junior grey warden named Alistair and two other warden recruits.
In order to prepare to the Joining ritual she traveled to the Kokari Wilds alongside Alistair and the other recruits to gather a few vials of darkspawn blood and to retrieve some ancient treaties. After acquiring the missing treaties from a witch and her mother, they returned to the camp and went throught the Joining. Sadly, Liadan was the only one that survived the ritual.
And then the battle was about to begin. Her first duty as a Grey Warden was to light the beacon on top of the tower of Ishal to signal Loghain when the King´s army and the Grey Wardens requested back up. The tower was teeming with Darkspawn but they managed to light the beacon, only to be overwhelmed by the remaining Darkspawn. But apparently she and Alistair were saved by Morrigan´s mother at the last minute. With the King and the Grey Wardens dead at Ostagar, they needed a new plan to stop the Blight. And so, together with Morrigan they ventured towards the quest to gather an army to defeat the Blight, making use of the wardens ancient treaties.
And their first step will be visiting the small vilage of Lothering.

I`ve never had this glitch but once i had one where the Sutherland Company were fighting imortal darkspawn . But thankfully loading to a previous save resolved that glitch. I hope disabling that mod will work for you in your future playthrough .

Warden Cousland travelled to Lothering and gathered information, supplies, and two new companions.
After acquiring a control rod for a golem, they travelled to Honnleath, where they fought darkspawn and some shades, and defeated a "desire demon cat", rescuing a young child from possession. Lastly, they awakened the golem in the center of the village and while the control rod didn`t work, the golem Shale still agreed to joined them.
Later, they travelled to the Mage tower. They agreed to help Knight Commander Gregoir secure the tower in exchange for the Templars help in fighting the Blight. Together with Wynne they managed to saved everyone that could be saved, defeated the demons and the blood mages that didn`t surrender, managed to escape the Fade trap, defeated Uldred in the end, saving the mages in the Harrowing chamber, a young templar that had been tortured and the first enchanter in the process. With the tower secured, the Templars withdrew their offer to help the wardens and instead the first enchanter Irving pledged the help of the mages in the fight against the Blight. Wynne left the tower with the two wardens. (You know, i`ve always considered the Abominations a disappointment. There's a whole narration/description in the game around abominations, about how terrifying and powerful they are and yet, in my opinion, Bioware has failed to demonstrate this convincingly. As far as gameplay is concerned, again in my opinion, they are much easier enemies to defeat, for example, the Desire or Pride demons, the Arcane Horrors or the Revenants, which ends up giving me a sense of disbelief. It`s not a big issue for me, it was just a thought that occur to me while i was playing today)
There is a minor roleplay conflict I've been having lately.
I play my Dalish Inquisitor as someone who is supposedly humble, but the speech I picked at Skyhold was "I'm an elf fighting for Thedas and I will be an ambassador (not literally, I know)". It is a rather bold thing to say.
Is it possible to be humble and have ambitious goals?

I tend to pick the "I fight for order, not faith" option...it still sounds humble but on the other hand declares them for something greater, at least imo.

I usually pick the one that goes: "This isn't about a higher message. Corypheous is a threat to the people, and we need to stop him. We need to do what is right: The Inquisition stands for all of us."

So...question/opinions? Pictured are two potential Inquisitors I want to use for when I get to my Let's play of the Dragon Age series (which might take a while, since I semi-promised a colleague of mine to tackle all the Mass Effect ones first )
One is a new Adaar I cooked up the other day (kinda pleased with how she turned out, not gonna lie) and the other is my canon Lavellan Gwyneth...the Adaar doesn't have a name presently, though might go with Malak to give homage to my male Quizzy and it's an ironic name for a semi-demonic looking character (Malak means angel/messenger (also it's a unisex name)
For the other two characters in the series I (currently) have planned a Dwarf commoner rogue (female) dual wield axes, Duelist-Shadow) for my Warden, and Mage (female) for Hawke
...but I'm a bit on the fence on who to pick for my Inquisitor , on one hand an elven Inquisitor makes slightly more sense (especially with the elven lore dump we get in the game), and on the other hand playing a Qunari is also fun (I had a blast with my male one in the past)
Also given where the story takes us, playing as an elf in DA4 might make for a more interesting choice, especially the whole "side with Solas or not" thing they might get (which I kinda hope).
Other thing I ponder about...if I make the Qunari one, should I stick with mage or make her a warrior? Also...who to romance? I'm kinda leaning toward either Blackwall or Iron Bull but don't really have a preference (I've only romanced Cullen (Lavellan) and Cassandra (male Quizzy) in the past)
Also...would a Qunari Inquisitor drink from the Well of Sorrows?
