PS3 has been a shitfest for the last few weeks. For the longest time, I swear, pugs were mostly decent games. I had to just be getting lucky. Because for the last month, 8 out of 10 games turns into a shitshow. How do I measure this you may ask? If I top the scoreboard, it's not good for those involved. Not is it just pugs inability to play, but the lag, joining GIP, or shit like that. I hate GIP, absolutely fuckin hate it. I never host, but after joining GIP after GIP, because God knows staying in a lobby for more than 1 match is impossible, I just started hosting games Monday. Plus, I'm a try hard who won't just give up. TL:DR The hell with GIP and shit pugs. Think of yourselves as EB and me as Al

Me personally, I haven't run into any asshole score-whoring, no objective helping butt pugs for a good while. Most pugs I seem to run into lately are just newer players with low level gear that just are not experienced enough to be reliable. Some of them try hard and some of them don't. Although I just remembered about a couple months back a pug joined a game in progress that my brother and I were playing. They died about ten seconds after joining and they immediately said into their mic with the most high pitched annoying voice "I NEED HEEEEEELLLLP!!!" They get stomped and again into the mic, a very loud and very disappointed sigh that literally lasted about five seconds. My brother was already annoyed and so every time this pug died and bled out, he would run up to their corpse and start shooting them. Pug left after the match.

One pug trend I've been noticing on X-Box, is how popular Jugs are. It's like the Reckoning DLC has been released for the first time. PS3 has been a shitfest for the last few weeks. Just need to pug another charge cord cable for my Dual Shock 4. And what's wrong with landing GIP? Just slap some explosive ammo in case you land in another Giant preset and have to quit. If you live with explosive ammo, then the pugs must be good enough to stick with.

They eventually leave anyway on their own free will.

I don't put on any thing above level 2 when quick searching. I may put on level 3 sniper amp, but most weapon amps are 1 or occasionally an SMG II. So, it's not the equipment that bothers me. I don't know, just don't like GIP. And all joking aside, I can't really complain about pugs. As I've said before, I like pugging. Keeps me sharp vs getting carried by my buddies. But, sometimes it's hard not to laugh at the stupid shit you see.

99% of the games I play are PuGs and most of the players I run into are fine! They play well, help out on objectives, seem big on teamwork and generally try their best. The only problems I've run into are players who join lobbies not suited to there level/game experience and scrubs who dont understand the concept of the between wave melee high five!

I blame consumable console commands for lack of kit variety. As it greatly affects my kit variety on PC. Players favour AIU Reeger on PC, while X-Box TGI Harrier (I personally much prefer TGI Harriers in pugs). Speaking of Harrier, it has noticeably less recoil on X-Box vs PC. As if on a Turian to get same recoil as on X-Box, you have to also include Barrage Gear or Consumable. One PC I can't recall the last time I've seen an Arc Grenade user. Grenade users in general are rare on PC from my pugging experience. And what's call of duty style players, inert?

Caring, unselfish, fanatical in their quest to be good teammates, willing to die for me, willing to pick me up when I'm down, best friends, heroes. Don't be haters, embrace the pugs. Pugs are love, pugs are life! XOXOXO You called them losers yesterday! Was fun to shake off the cobwebs with you though JIM!

Yeah, there's more TGIs on Xbox than normal, but it feels like there are more AIU Reegars on PC than Infiltrators total on Xbox. As for the recoil on your harrier, are you sure it wasn't just a Turian stability glitch? I don't notice any difference in any weapons cross platform except for the obvious Reegar. Grenade scorewhoring is more common on Xbox than PC, but I do see it on both. CoD players play the game like a shooter, will favour guns and grenades over powers, etc. Soldiers are used most often. They simultaneously prioritize both teamwork and scorewhoring, are quick to brag during victory, quick to blame during defeat. Usually chatty, fairly young sounding and hip hop can often be heard in the background when they use the mic. I ran into one (on PC oddly, but they admitted to coming over from xbox). Conversation went like this: CoD PUG: Finally a guy with a mic. Yo, you excited for Andromeda? *Still DRE in background* Me: (reluctantly) If it's good I'll get it. CoD PUG: What you talking about dawg, then why are you playing a four year old game? Me: I'm cheap. CoD PUG: I respect that, alright man, let's tear some shit up He left in wave 3 or 4 after hitting the dirt too early and often. He was capable of killing, but seemed too impatient for RHA/cover and positioning.

So...what are pugs? Besides a dog breed that is. PUG stands for pick up game. A match of mass effect 3 MP you play by yourself without organization. PUGs are usually the unknown people who you have to play the game with. Often they aren't good and are made fun of for not knowing things like spawn locations, and doing objectives.

One PC I can't recall the last time I've seen an Arc Grenade user. Grenade users in general are rare on PC from my pugging experience. Now that I think about it, there does seem to be a proportional relationship to grenade availability and the likelihood of wiping. If grenades are never available, it probably means a BSNer or at least a good pug is making use of them. But if I'm easily able to restock, then it probably bodes poorly for the future of the match (especially if all them TGIs aren't bothering with their stim packs). I assume 360 pugs never missile anything outside of wave 11, even if it would prevent a wipe.

Then they count on you to use missiles during crucial objectives and clean up the mess they've lured to the LZ.

Most of the time pugs will save them for wave 11 and not on that wave 6 escort with two banshees bearing down on them. EDIT: I just remembered they will also nuke the last mook or two charging them on a random wave.

I've actually developed a sixth sense for when a PUG will missile a lone Banshee that I am whittling down. Often when the Banshee is at about 3 bars of armor and puts up her hand of denial. Anyway, as soon as I sense the PUG is going to use a missile, I like to turn around and leave. That way the Banshee gets nuked behind me as I walk away, Michael Bay style.
