Each post about this is making me braver and braver. And kind of excited about it now. At least to give it a try. In the MMOs I played we always grouped or raided and used voice, if for no other reason than to have the leader shout commands.
And back to the topic at hand, I discovered Biofan here and became a fan through Andromenerds.

Muddy Boots, the thing about the ME3 multiplayer is that after 4.5 years post-launch, the game still has active lobbies and active players, that says something. This thread discusses people jumping into the game new: bsn.boards.net/thread/1186/noob-mp-beginners-guide-dummiesI've played over 1,000 hours and envy anyone with the opportunity to go in new.

I was particularly struck by all the ME3 multiplayer footage. I've never played MP and I'm kind of regretting it now. That stuff looked cool! Not too late to start! What platform are you? And the Turian characters. I feel the same about the MP, but I still hesitate. I'm so bad at shooting I don't want everyone to be yelling at me. I've generally not seen that ever be an issue. Overall, the ME3MP crowd seemed pretty chill and laid back across all three platforms when I was heavy into it (PC, XBox 360, and PS3... I mean, Wii U exists, but I never did that one). Just make sure, if and when you dabble, select "Bronze" as your difficulty when searching for lobbies or creating one. That's the lowest difficulty, so people should be less crappy and more like fellow noobs or casual players. You can also try going to our ME3MP forum and asking around for any members of Bronze Effect that may still be active. That was a group set up specifically to be laid back and casual (and despite the name, most members can do any difficulty with you).

In each match there are ten separate waves of enemies that spawn, with a buffer of ~15-30 seconds between each wave. Waves 3, 6, and 10 will have one objective (out of five possible) randomly chosen. The faster you complete these objectives, which are very self-explanatory, the more money you get paid. After completing all ten waves, an eleventh "wave" will begin where your objective is to survive for two minutes and make it to an area of the map which is designated as the "extraction zone". You get an additional monetary bonus provided that at least one person survives and "extracts". The money you earn from the matches is used to buy crates from the in-game store, which will contain a random selection of one-use consumable items, character-related unlocks, and/or weapon-related unlocks. It's a very simple concept, but it's still some of the most fun I've had in about ten years of playing multiplayer games.

One VERY important caveat: make sure to download ALL the MP DLC first. You might have trouble finding players without it. The good news is that every bit of it is 100% free. Just gotta take the time and space to download. They are: Resurgence Rebellion Earth Retaliation Reckoning They all basically add new maps, new characters to play, new weapons, a new enemy, and a new difficulty level.

I've been playing SP on insanity for a while now so hopefully I won't be totally hopeless To be honest I hadn't realized MP was still going after so long!

I'm pretty sure the XBox One players are mixed in with the 360 players, but I don't know that 100% since I don't have a One. I have an old refurbished 360 that's currently taking up closet space since I really just cannot enjoy using that controller like I do the Playstation ones (I gave it a good try, I really did). But no, it's not cross-platform in that PS3 players can't play with PC players, etc. SP Insanity will have been good training for easing you into MP.

Pffttt....trying to stay spoiler-free and not looking at any more videos or threads is getting really old. Everyone else is at the party and I'm smooshing my face up against the window looking in. But NO, I won't do it. For once in my bloody life I won't know a bajillion things about a BioWare game before I play it. I'll just watch it all afterwards.

Playing 360 games on the Xbox One is essentially via an Xbox 360 emulator. To all intents and purposes the game thinks you're running on a 360 (you get the 360 boot screen and it logs your profile in again saying it was previously used on a different console). I have found that it doesn't recognize the Kinect for voice commands, though, and there's a graphic bug I've noticed where sometimes a character's face turns black with just the eyes standing out in a cut scene (very offputting )

You can headbutt and punch faces! Elegantly dash left and right to evade enemy shots! I'd put my boot firmly in if I were you.

... What're you wanting to more about before the game is released? ...
I'd like to hear more about the Asari takeover plans to rule humanity. ... What're you NOT wanting to know more about before the game is released? ...
Rumors about postponing Asari move to dominate humanity. Apart from that I like to know: Anything MP - related

What're you wanting to more about before the game is released? What're you NOT wanting to know more about before the game is released?
I want to see hair, especially Liam's. I'd like to see how the character creator works. I want to see a bit more more about the other races. I would like to see BW name some creature Space Bears. I don't want to see too much, if they ever release the info, about what happens at the beginning to cause all the havoc. I want to see that for myself. I guess I don't want too much of any particular topic because I do like to be surprised, especially story-wise. I do love the speculation from Andromenerds because that's always fun and summaries and analyses like you, BioFan have been doing. So, I guess, I'm happy to sit back and let you do the footwork for me.

Just breezed over the thread.
BioFan, thanks a lot for your efforts, countless hours, dedication and what I call digital community work.
I've learned a couple of new things despite following MEA closely.
Your work is much appreciated
