"Hi Alec, we made it to Feros at last and I'm glad we did sooner rather than later. The colony, Zhu's Hope, was under attack by the geth and things looked pretty bad. All the rubble, destruction. Reminded me of back then. But thankfully we could help out those colonists. We were able to fight off the geth wave and helped the colonists get back on their feet by hunting down varren for food, enabling running water and getting the power back. We heard from the colony's leader that the main site of the geth was located at the nearby headquarters of a company called ExoGeni. We took the Mako to get there, but on our way we noticed some comm chatter. We found some ExoGeni scientists holed up in an underground structure and asked them about the geth and their company. No answers that really helped, but one of the scientists asked us to look for her daughter Lizbeth who was still at the HQ. Once we were inside we found her pretty quick, unharmed. She figured the geth were there because of something called the "Thorian", an ancient alien plant, and gave us her keycard so we could move around freely in the building. I used it at a VI terminal and learned that ExoGeni studied this thing and the effect of its spores, and that they used those poor colonists as a control group. I fucking hate scientists sometimes. The Thorian had the ability to enthrall the affected colonists, and it was right under their colony. The colonists had behaved a bit strangely earlier on, and then I knew why. I wanted to help them so badly, but first we needed to deal with the geth. A giant geth ship was attached to the wall of the building, and we eventually found a way to get rid of it. Its claws were attached to some high pressure doors, and we found the controls for it. And this thing was history. With that out of the way, we wanted to return to the colony asap, but the comm revealed something was going on with the scientists. Lizbeth, who had come with us, asked us to stop. One of the scientists, Ethan Jeong, was arguing with her mother and threatened her. Jeong wanted to keep the company's secrets safe and was ready to do anything for it. I tried talking him down, but it didn't work. Had to shoot him in self-defense. He was a fucking idiot, but still I wish it hadn't come to this. Lizbeth had told us earlier that the colonists had covered the entrance of the Thorian's lair shortly before the geth arrived, so we knew they'd try anything to keep us from getting to it. Lizbeth's mother suggested to use nerve gas grenades to keep the colonists from harm, and it worked. We knocked out all of them and opened up the hidden entrance, when the colony's leader appeared. For a moment I feared he wanted to shoot me, but then he shot himself instead. Poor bugger. Then we entered the lair. Lizbeth had thought that Saren was after the Thorian because of its mind-control abilities, but it was something else entirely. After we had weakened the Thorian (which was frigging large and spanned over several floors) by shooting its nodes attached to the walls, an asari was released from a node once the Thorian fell to its death. Her name's Shiala and she told me she had helped Saren gain the so-called Cipher from the Thorian to understand the vision from Eden Prime better. Feros was a Prothean world once, but the Thorian was there long before them, and those who died became a part of it. Pretty freaky, huh? Saren then had his geth try to take down the Thorian to stop me from following his steps. That didn't work out so well for him, since Shiala gave me the Cipher willingly as well. On the other hand I did what Saren wanted all along. Bit sad to think I killed such an ancient being. It was just caught in the middle of all this. In the end, the vision didn't become any clearer, but we learned some more interesting bits from Shiala. Sovereign, the ship Saren uses, is able to indoctrinate people, and Matriarch Benezia originally tried to bring Saren back on a better path, but she fell under the influence, too. At least according to Shiala, but she seemed trustworthy enough. She stayed with the colonists to help them, which is good. They need all the help they can get to rebuild. I'm so glad we could free them from the Thorian's control. We returned to the Normandy and Liara attempted to make sense of the vision by linking our minds, similar to how Shiala transferred the Cipher. It's fascinating what some species are capable of, but she said the vision didn't make much sense to her, so we still have no real clue where Saren went. It was a little disappointing, but there's something else that piqued my interest. I found a message at the ExoGeni HQ, from a doctor mentioning Cerberus, and the creatures we fought at the Thorian were the ones we saw in one of these Cerberus bases. Wonder how they're connected, but I intend to find out. On a different note, the Normandy is really great. I like the crew a lot and we're becoming friends gradually. I'm learning a lot more about their pasts, like... Wrex told me his father tried to kill him back on Tuchanka, but he killed him first. Some tough shit. Williams told me about her big family. She has 3 sisters, and it sounds really nice from what she told me, even though she lost her dad some time ago. And Tali is the daughter of a quarian admiral. Pretty big thing, huh? Wish you could meet them all. -Dee" A bunch of pics: I feel kinda OP, haha. The Sniper Rifle is amazingly strong now, I'm really digging it. Wouldn't have thought it's so much fun to use. I even killed everything on foot on the skyway, something I never did so far because I like to blast those geth away with the Mako (it's just less time-consuming that way ). I also bought more Spectre weapons for Kaidan and Wrex (Tali also got a shotgun, but I barely use her in this run). Never did that before, but with so much money... tehe. Now back to some sidequesting!

I'm sorry I put Kaidan in this disgusting armor In my most recent playthrough of ME1, he wore Phoenix armour during the endgame, in Ashley's honour. I was exactly the same in the second half of ME1. The fact that ME1 is so geth-heavy just added to the enjoyment, there is something amazingly and amusingly satisfying about one-shotting toasters from a distance.

Too much time on my hands this weekend again, I'll try to remember what I did.
Continuing Renegon FemShep. In general I notice I'm more and more leaning towards Paragon decisions, especially concerning teammembers, but I'm still getting more renegade points than paragon.
I kept talking to Kelly. I thought I messed up the relationship, but it turned out I didn't, I just needed to go through all convo options, and then I got the 'I will catch you' reply, and later on some more flirty responses, so I guess all is good. (And I had to rebuy all my fish since they died on me (twice) but with Kelly back, I want her to feed them).
I've almost got my team complete (just Tali to get) and did loyalty missions for Garrus, Thane and Samara. During Garrus's mission, I jusst couldnt let him kill Sidonis. I have two romance options open atm, I'm flirting (is it flirting when you out right say you want them?) with both Thane and Garrus. I think I will have to keep a save file around to see have each play out.
At the moment I am on Tuchunka, just finished talking to Wrex and I got the feeling he was not aboard the Normandy at the beginning of the game. That probably means he left after the battle for the citadel, which makes sense as he was not a crewmember, but then again neither was Liara, but she was aboard the Normandy when I got killed (she was my LI in ME1). That doesn't really make sense, if after Citadel, the team was disbanded, and only Alliance personal stayed aboard, then Liara shouldn't be there aswell...
Anyway, I plan to do Grunt's and Mordin's loyalty mission tonight, and if there is time I'll go get Tali to complete the team. And I'll keep talking to both Garrus and Thane, just love their conversations (never played fem before), both very different, it will be hard to decide which one to take to ME3 ...

"Hey Alec, been some time. I took care of a lot of things recently and finally found the time to share them with you. Following some data I found on Feros, we prevented a geth invasion forming in the Armstrong Nebula. The geth had outposts on 4 planets, and then we took them down for good on the 5th planet. I retrieved some intel on the geth and gave Tali a copy. If anyone knows what to do with this, it's her and her people. We traveled to the Maroon Sea cluster next to check out the Cerberus lead I also found on Feros, but received a signal from an emergency beacon in one of the systems. We headed there first and found a group of ExoGeni scientists in a facility, overrun by those creatures from the Thorian again, appropriately named "Thorian Creepers". The scientists had been able to lock themselves inside a room. They had experimented on the creepers, even managed to make them docile. Then they turned on them. Shit, man, scientists... I might've let this slide, but they wanted to bribe me. I'm not the most honourable type, but I would've never accepted this. The scientists chose to fight to the death instead of going to jail. Then we finally went to Chasca, home planet of a pioneer team. Or at least it was. The civilian structures were full of husks, dozen of them. Those spikes we saw at Eden Prime were there too. But it wasn't the geth, as we found out in some research facility nearby. The logs stated that a member of Cerberus had passed through recently. With the information from the doctor's log on Feros, I'm sure this person used the "sample" on the colonists. Whatever it was, everyone has been turned to husks. All dead. What is this group? What is their goal? I have no more leads to go from here, so I guess I'll likely never find out. In another system of the same cluster, we found a ship adrift in space. Husks again. I'm sick of these things. This time it seems to have been the geth. The ship apparently was exploring close to the Perseus Veil, and the whole crew had been turned, then sent back into Citadel space. Maybe as a warning. But whatever the reason, it's still creepy as fuck. Damn geth. Then there was another request from Hackett. This time we needed to head to a biotic commune. I had read about this on Feros, but surprisingly, it was tied to the Alliance. It was about an Alliance officer, Major Kyle, who had served during the Siege of Torfan I told you about? Torfan definitely left its mark on Kyle and he had killed two Alliance investigators who had been sent there already. He was surrounded by biotic fanatics, his "children". Pretty weird, but I guess he was not all there. Understandably so, what I read about Torfan was brutal. Luckily, I could convince Kyle to turn himself in. Hopefully he can get some help. Next we investigated a privateer base on the planet Xawin. A derelict ship led us to this planet, and we found its captain in the base after dealing with those privateers. He was dead and now I have to tell his brother... well, whenever we are on the Citadel again, because I just came back from meeting Helena Blake (who promised me she'd disband the mercs) and we're heading to Noveria now. More geth sightings, so who knows what we'll find there. Write to you soon. -Dee" Pics! How can these sidequests still be fun after completing them so many times? Next up Noveria, and I think after that it's time for BDtS to kick some batarian ass

It was also a lot of fun to let the rachni and creepers out so they'd go for the Cerberus mooks, hehe. ...you can let Cerberus' test subjects loose to kill all their guys? Once again, I've learned something new; I've always taken the mooks out first before lowering the force field. So, that's something else to try during my next playthrough There's a switch to turn off the field. If you use it before killing Cerberus troopers, they're attack anyone they seen (including your squad).

Karen Shepard, Soldier, ME2 cont'd:
Serpent Nebula: Citadel – Thane: Sins of the Father
Shepard returned to the Zakera Ward accompanied by Thane and Tali. At the customs desk a non-biotic turian was objecting to the ban on biotic amps on shuttles, and somehow this was related to all humans being racist. The insane troll logic was strong with this one.
Shepard checked the latest news, and learned that a Lantar Sidonis had turned himself in to C-Sec, confessing to ten murders on Omega. C-Sec wasn't sure how to handle the case, given it was well outside their jurisdiction.
Shepard and Thane went to speak to Captain Bailey, to see if he could give them any intel on Kolyat's whereabouts. As always, Bailey seemed eager to help, and pointed them towards a young petty crook named Mouse who knew what was what in the criminal underworld and could probably help them out. It turned out Thane knew Mouse from his assassin days; Mouse had provided information to Thane, and the drell had become a bit of a father figure for him.
It took some persuading, and reassurances that no one would ever find out he talked to them, but Mouse eventually provided the name of Kolyat's employer - a crime boss named Elias Kelham. Thane and Shepard returned to Bailey and asked for Kelham to be brought in. It was “awkward”, because Bailey and Kelham had and “arrangement” that C-Sec gave Kelham's organization a wide birth as long as they kept their criminal activities quiet - “it keeps the peace.”
Bailey did agree to bring Kelham in, however, and stall his lawyer while Thane and Shepard interrogated him. Shepard asked Thane to play “bad cop”, as given her reputation she didn't think anyone would find her believable as a “renegade badass”, but thought Thane could pull it off. However, despite Shepard turning on the charm while Thane threatened him, they were unable to convince Kelham that there was no risk to him revealing the name of the individual he targeted.
Kelham's lawyer eventually stormed in, but once he learned that Shepard was a Spectre and that he had no way to get his client out of this, he advised Kelham to talk. Kelham revealed that he hired Kolyat to take out Joram Talid, a turian politician campaigning on an anti-human platform.
Shepard and Thane found Talid and split up so they could tail him and wait for Kolyat to make his move. Shepard overheard Talid campaigning, complaining about the increase in corruption at C-Sec ever since more humans were admitted following the Battle of the Citadel. Given what she had just witnessed between Bailey and Kelham, she found it hard to disagree. She did note, however, that Talid seemed to be a “barefaced” turian, and she knew enough about turian culture to know what that meant. Sure enough, she witnessed Talid engaging in activities that seemed quite dodgy for a politician who promised to cut down on crime if elected.
Kolyat made his move near Talid's apartment, and ended up taking the politician hostage in his living room. Shepard, Thane, and C-Sec arrived, and Kolyat attempted to negotiate his way out. Shepard's assumptions that he wasn't quite as unflappable as his father proved correct when she was able to distract him by shooting a lamp and easily disarm him.
Kolyat learned of Thane's illness, and Bailey offered them the use of a private room back at C-Sec to talk. Shepard once again played the “Spectre card” and asked Bailey not to put Kolyat through the legal system, but find some other way for him to make amends. “I'll think about it” was Bailey's reply; Shepard knew him well enough to know that it meant it was a done deal, and Kolyat's life of crime was over almost as soon as it started. Thane seemed relieved, and glad that he and his son were talking again, despite the work ahead of him to regain his boy's trust.
Shepard had overheard a couple of asari travellers complain that they were stuck on the Citadel because of some bogus no-fly list for “geth infiltrators”, so on the way back to the Normandy she stopped in at the Customs office to try and get it cleared up. The long-suffering customs officer was patiently explaining to her turian friend why 15-centimetre serrated blades were not allowed on public shuttles. This was, of course, more irrefutable evidence that all humans were racist.
Shepard attempted to convince the officer that the two asari weren't geth, based on her experience fighting them. She could have used her Spectre status, but she'd done that a few times in the past while, and didn't want to push her luck. She was supposed to be a “rogue Spectre” restricting her activities to the Terminus Systems, after all (although she was pretty sure the Council didn't really care). The Customs official agreed to temporarily lift the restriction so the two asari could leave. Shepard let them know the good news, then returned to the Normandy. She also had business elsewhere, and it was time to head out.

Ahmed Shepard: 1. Spoke with The Illusive Man. He told Ahmed that human colonies were disappearing and that he suspected it was tied to the Reaper threat. That got Ahmed's attention. While he did not trust Cerberus, they did bring him back (at considerable cost) and they wanted him to stop whoever was behind the attacks. Ahmed agreed to help. 2. First stop: Freedom's Progress, a colony that had dropped out of contact. When they arrived it appeared that they were first on the scene. Nothing appeared to have been disturbed, but suddenly they were attacked by security mechs. After taking out the security mechs, they immediately ran into some Quarians led by Tali! The Quarians were not happy that Cerberus was at the colony, but Tali was happy to see Shepard. They agreed to work together to find Veetor, a Quarian who was at the colony on his Pilgrimage. They suspected that he was the one who had activated the mechs. 3. The Quarians ignored Tali's orders and tried to get to Veetor first, and were nearly wiped out by a YMIR mech. Ahmed managed to destroy it, then got to Veetor. Veetor was fixated on some computer screens and muttering nonsense to himself. Ahmed tried calmly to get his attention, but Veetor did not seem to hear him. So Ahmed then tried shouting, and when that did not work, he shot one of the screens. That got Veetor's attention. 4. Veetor showed them security footage. The footage showed an alien species called the Collectors gathering the colonists in pods. Veetor explained that the colonists were frozen by tiny machines he called Seeker Swarms. Miranda wanted to take Veetor to Cerberus, but Tali burst in and argued against it. Ahmed agreed to take Veetor's Omni Tool data and the Quarians would take Veetor home. 5. Back at the station, The Illusive Man expressed his gratitude at the results. While the Reaper connection was rather tenuous, the Collectors were an obvious threat to humanity, and Ahmed was fully on board to stop them. Pleased, The Illusive Man gave Ahmed some dosiers for squadmates, then informed told him to go meet his new pilot. Ahmed was rather surprised -- but very pleased -- that the pilot was Joker! 6. Shepard was also in awe that his new ship was a much larger (and very improved) Normandy design. Because Ahmed is not that good at naming things, he named it the Normandy SR2. 7. Shepard talked with some of his new crew, including the ship's artificial intelligence named EDI. Ahmed was not pleased with an AI on board the ship, but he could live with it. 8. Ahmed went to Omega to go recruit a Salarian scientist named Mordin. They would need Mordin to find a countermeasure to the seeker swarms. On Omega, Ahmed went to go talk to Aria, the ruler of Omega. She told him where to find Mordin, as well as Archangel, the other person that the Illusive Man want him to recruit on Omega. 9. Mordin was in a Quarantine Zone, sealed off because of a plague. Mordin was trying to find a cure for the plague. The plague affected every race except humans and Vorcha. Ahmed managed to convince the guard to let him through to the Quarantine Zone without incident. 10. Once in, he encountered a Batarian. He tried to help the Batarian, but the Batarian pointed a gun at him and told to him to get away. So Ahmed backed off and the Batarian died. The Blue Suns were blocking the way to the clinic, so Ahmed had to kill the Blue Suns. 11. Then Ahmed encountered a human couple bunkering down in an apartment. They told him that the Blue Suns were losing a lot turf to the Vorcha. Ahmed saw that first hand when he encountered a firefight between two Blue Suns mercs and a lot of Vorcha. The mercs died soon after and Ahmed took out all the Vorcha along with a few Krogan. 12. Finally at the clinic, Ahmed soon found Mordin. Mordin told him he had the cure but could not deliver it while he tended to patients. So Ahmed agreed to deliver the cure. 13. Mordin encountered heavy Vorcha resistance, along with a Krogans. He made a quick stop to help Mordin's assistant Daniel out of jam. Some Batarians thought he was spreading the virus and were threatening to kill him, but Ahmed got them to see reason and everyone left in one piece. Then it was off again back to deliver the cure to all of the Quarantine Zone. 14. Resistance was heaviest at the ventilation system where Ahmed needed to deliver a cure. One of the Vorcha admitted that the Collectors were behind the plague. Ahmed managed to input the cure and turn on the fans. The Vorcha quickly dispersed. Mordin then joined the Normandy. 15. Planet scanning!
Ahmed Shepard stared at the data pad, let out a long sigh, then pressed the button.
"Probe away." Even EDI sounded bored.
"Commander, we have been scanning for hours," Joker called in over the intercom." How much longer is this going to take?"
"Until we get enough platinum, Joker."
"How much platinum do we need?"
Ahmed looked down at his estimates.
"About 10 metric shit tonnes."
"God dammit."

I was all over the Galaxy yesterday, first I went to Citadel to take care of Garrus's issue with a guy named Sidonis. He wanted to kill him to revenge his team, but first we had to find him. We got a lead on a guy named Fade, who turned out to be Harkin, ex CSEC. Garrus was able to persuade him to set up a meeting with Sidonis. The plan was, I would lure Sidonis out, and Garrus would snipe him. But on the way over I could see in Garrus's eyes that killing was not the answer, and I just couldn't let my friend do it. I had a word with Sidonis and we decided to let him walk, he was riddled with guilt about what he done, and killing him wasn't neccessary.
Since I was in Citadel, I talked to Bailey about Thanes son, got a lead on a former contact of Thane, who knew who hired Kolyat to kill some racist Turian politician. Thane and I stalked the targer, hoping to spot Kolyat before he reaches the target, and in the end we prevented the hit. Of course csec was all over us by then, but Bailey offered his help in covering things up and we managed to keep it off the books. Kolyat is doing some work for Bailey now, and Thane has a chance to mend his relation with him.
Meeting with Thane on the Normandy after the mission, made me realize I have feelings for him, and when I talked to him, he confessed he had feelings for me too.
Our next stop was Tuchanka, Grunt needed to be 'fixed' and Mordin heard that a former student of his was being held by bloodpack mercenaries there. On arrival we were told the see the clan leader, and to my surprise (and relieve) it was my old friend Wrex. It was so good to see him again. I immediately asked him if he wanted to join me, but he said his work for the Krogan was to important. He did know what was wrong with Grunt tho, it seems the 'illness' that was plaguing our Krogan was puberty, or the Krogan equivalent of that. Wrex offered Grunt a place in his clan, and after the Rite (Krogan style, it involved a lot of killing) Grunt was ok again.
Now it was time to look for Mordin's former student, who was being held by blood pack in an old hospital. We sneaked out way in, and found Maelon in a lab trying to cure the Genophage, but not at gun point, he was volunteering! Mordin did not approve of the methods used by Maelon and Mordin wanted to kill him. I told Mordin he is not a murderer, and he let Maelon walk, but we took the research on the genophage cure with us. Oh, and where I said sneaked, I actually meant we fought our way in, killing every merc that got in our way.
I stopped Garrus from killing, didn't let Mordin kill, I must be getting soft. It used to be so easy for me to kill when needed (or provoked). I guess I really care about my crew.
I still had a location on Tali, whom I really wanted to be part of the team, so I had Joker set a course to Haestrom. We were met by a lot of Geth, but they didn't really pose a threat, at least until we walked into the last surviving Quarian marine, a guy named Kal'Reegar, who was sworn to protect Tali. I told him to cover our rear, while my ground team (Garrus, Thane and me) took care of the Geth Colossus. When that was done, Tali was free to join us on our mission to destroy the collectors.
Now it was time to deal with Jacob and his daddy issues. Of to Aeia where his father's ship crashed ten years ago, but only recently started sending out a distress signal. It became clear very fast, that what was going on with the surviving crew was bad. Very bad. Apparantly daddy crowned himself king, disposed of the competion, exiled the male crewmembers and kept the female as his personal harem or something. In the end Jacob left him with a pistol, charged enough for a single shot, and that was that.
Since I had some unfinished business on Illium, that was my next stop. I hacked some terminals there for Liara (I still love her, but I don't see us getting back together, she is no longer the innocent young Asari I used to know) and I helped Miranda relocate her sister. A lot of shooting was involved, but all in all it wasn't that bad (maybe Miranda shooting Niket could have gone better, but I hate loose ends).
Now all I have to do is assist Tali with a personal issue, then I am free to go find the reaper IFF. I know I promised Liara to help her track down the Shadow broker, and I need to rescue Hacket's agent but if I can't defeat the collector's there's no point in doing that. Besides, I think I can't get any better that I am now so there's no point in postponing the inevitable...

The recovered correspondence between Com. Shepard and David Anderson, War Imperial Museum, London. Date unknown. Dear Anderson, After a tough tour of duty in which I was able to save the galaxy causing only 'minor' collateral damage, we were able to finish the reaper threat. Urrah! Ok. The krogans, quarians and geth are extinct but looking at the bright side at least the rachni gained a new home. Always had a soft heart for them, you know that. I'm writing to tell you about our vacation, trying to raise your spirit at the Hospital. First I would like to ask your forgiveness for letting the floating plataform drop over your head, it was the Catalyst fault, not mine. That's what the reapers get for letting a child manage their operations, hun? Also I really, really sorry for letting the fire spread and cover you after, my pistol was configured to inferno ammo and I didn't notice. On the good side, all those dead husks I used to cover you at least extinguish the fire, so no worries, right? Yes, I know. Some of the nanites in them entered your bloodstream and almost transformed you in one. But you are being treated for that, right? I was even able to look at the VI they will install in your head, it's partially based on me and the rest on Vega's personality. Urrah for the marines and Alliance navy! So we headed to that shithole called Omega to celebrate: me, Liara, Garrus, Traynor, Vega and Ashley. We are all salt of the earth after all, the Presidium or Illium is not our thing. Ok, not true. Liara bugged me the entire trip to find another location, but with some technique about pilling her out of armor using nothing but a tiny icicle and correct pressure at certain spots persuation she finally agreed. Thank god for Fornax teaching me that! "Always Illium, Always Azure" is the edition if you are interested. We even have found a lost Alliance frigate with a private called Mel and some other men on the way there, with their ship hanging bare assed in the space. Apparently some pirates attacked the vessel and were able to damage the engines, but all of the crew got out ok. Except someone called Richard, I think that was his name, because they spaced him out of the airlock. Her name wasn't entirely strange, but I couldn't remember where I've heard before. She was the only woman onboard among the thirty men on the ship, every one of them cared so much about her, she must be one hell of a private. I've found strange that their vessel was attacked more than 10 days before we find them, but they didn't send a distress signal. I'm assuming the radio malfunctioned after all. The strangest thing is she asked me how to find a hanar and a shotgun when we arrived on Omega, since she stated the asari part is not a problem at all in that place. Maybe the particular hanar did some wrong doing with her, I said revenge is not always the best option to placate a soul and we parted ways. Also I was curious to find Aria, the poor thing was really heart broken after Kandros passing. She wasn't even interested in the dance pole anymore, imagine that! After defeating Cerberus and when confronting their leader, Gen. Oleg, Aria decided to rip off his head and stick it where the sun don't shine. I thinked it was a tad excessive she done that, but we need to be open-minded about the whole incident: she was under tremendous pressure and losted the love of her life. So she needed a good stress reliever. I'm sure she will appreciate more my collection of fidget spinners with Vosk figures painted on them, they are much better at this sort of thing. We are planing to stay here by a month, I will wrote more next week. Always your child, Shepard.

I did it! After vistiting the migrant fleet and assisting Tali, who was falsely accused of treason, I set course to the derelict reaper ship and removed the IFF that we needed to pass the Omega 4 relay. On the reaper ship I found (or he found me) a Geth unit, operating alone, and not hostile towards me. Since he had rescued me a few times (with some nice headshots) and he was incapacitated during our final battle, me and Jacob carried him back to the Normandy (while grunt provided cover fire, it would have made more sense if Grunt just carried him, shouldn't be a problem for a Krogan...).
I managed to reactivate Legion, as we call him/it now, and he told me that there are 2 factions within the Geth, and he was on a mission to eradicate the so called Heretics, who followed Sovereign and Saren. That was something I could get behind, so I joined him to Heretic HQ and we ended up destroying the place.
In the meantime the crew had installed the reaper IFF on the Normandy and were ready for testing. This meant we had to use a shuttle to go out on our next mission, and Joker and the crew would test the IFF. Of course everything went wrong. The IFF contained a virus that transmitted the Normandies location, and the Collectors showed up, boarded the Normandy, forcing Joker to unshackle EDI and manually restart the drive core. This allowed EDI to take control back of the ship, but the rest of the crew was taken by the collecters.
We returned to the Normandy as soon as EDI send the message, and without delay made our way through the Omega 4 relay, and eventually found ourselves crashed on the doorstep of the Collector base. I brought the whole team with me this time, and in the end we destroyed the station (TIM was not amused) but we lost Zaeed. I thought I could leave a team under his command, but my mistake cost him his life.
With the immediate threat is resolved, I set course to Illium, where I gave Liara the intel I have on the Shadow Broker. It seemed the SB is well informed, as his agents started a small war on Illium, but we managed to get a location and what started as a rescue mission ended in a fight with mr. Shadow Broker himself (he lost) and Liara taking over.
All that is left to do now is to free Hacket's agent who is being held by batarians, after that I think I will take Thane on a well earned vacation, probably a desert planet.

Have you completed all other missions? I feel like post-IFF that more missions will arise. Personally, I save Arrival for last. It leads perfectly into the beginning of ME3. There's also slightly different dialogue at the end of Arrival depending on whether or not you're still with Cerberus.

Normandy
Shepard had a very good chat with Mordin, who had just finished up a call from his nephew. Mordin talked about how he was fighting for people like his nephew, and that he was honoured to be part of Shepard's team. Shepard felt that she was the one who should be honoured - people like Mordin were risking their lives to help her with her mission, even though there was no obligation on their part.
Zaeed was “waxing guddam nostalgic” about all of the Cerberus operatives he'd killed over the years. Kasumi commented on Thane and Kolyat's situation, and thinks they'll be OK. Thane answered Shepard's questions about drell culture, spirituality, and history. He described how he'd been trained as an assassin by the hanar, as part of the “Compact” between the two races. Garrus described some of the differences turian and human training methods, and ways of dealing with stress and conflict. Apparently both reach and flexibility are important. He had no regrets over leaving C-Sec or the turian military, despite the odds they currently faced.
Crescent Nebula: Helyme - Captured Mining Facility
Shepard asked Joker to take them to Illium, as it was almost time to supervise the transfer of Miranda's sister and her family to their new home. When they arrived in the Crescent Nebula, Shepard had Joker detour to the Zelene system, so they could search for resources. Sensors detected Eclipse mercenary communications at an Eldfell-Ashland mining facility on the planet Helyme. The planet was supposed to be quarantined, but that seemed to be aimed at looters, so Eldfell-Ashland might have been there legally (or perhaps not). However, history showed that wherever Eclipse went trouble wasn't far behind. Shepard figured she should investigate, so she had Tali and Samara join her on the shuttle.
There was no sign of any of the miners, just lots of Eclipse mercs. The team defeated them, and investigated to see what had happened. Records gave details on the freighter Ter Alan, which had docked at the facility before departing to the Dranek system with it's cargo. They requested an escort due to pirate activity in the area.
Shepard remembered hearing news reports that the Ter Alan had been lost in the Dranek systems, with no survivors, so it seemed Eclipse had got to them.

"Hey Alec, right now I'm sitting in a hotel bar at Hanshan Port on Noveria and I thought I'd say Hi. Got some time to kill while we wait for the Mako to be prepared. It was quite a hassle to get that far. When we arrived we were greeted by Noveria's security, who wanted us to lay down our weapons. No one is allowed to take one in, but fortunately, we could keep them after all since I am a Spectre. Gotta say this status comes in handy. A woman called Gianna Parasini was the one who confirmed my status, and we asked her about any unusual happenings at the port. Turned out that Matriarch Benezia passed through here recently, so that was interesting. She went to a facility outside the port, Peak 15. Parasini told us to check in with the administrator, Anoleis, if we wanted to leave. Man, he was a pretty big asshole and wouldn't help us out at all. Though he mentioned some interesting bits as well... that Benezia had brought asari commandos and lots of crates, and he said that a blizzard cut off access to Peak 15. No one was allowed to leave the port, unless you have a garage pass. I already thought we came here for nothing, when Parasini told us that Anoleis isn't the only one with a pass. We were advised to look for a Lorik Qui'in, who sits in this very bar right now as well. He's a turian, and the manager of a company called Synthetic Insights here. Seems like a decent fellow. When I first talked to him, he said that Anoleis has shut down his office to investigate reports on Qui'in's "corruption". Of course Qui'in wasn't corrupted, but Anoleis felt threatened because he is the corrupted one, and Qui'in had evidence on his office computer. I was asked to get it in exchange for a pass. Good deal, and we got the evidence for him. When we were on our way back to him, Parasini kinda ambushed us and told us who she really is. A Noveria Internal Affairs agent who had been undercover for the past 6 months to get to Anoleis. That was quite the surprise. She offered a garage pass from her in exchange for convincing Qui'in to testify against Anoleis so she could arrest him. Qui'in was reluctant at first, but I managed. And now we finally have the pass, and the Mako's being prepped for our little trip. Can't wait to see what it's like outside. There's lots of snow and mountains. Should be pretty neat. The mission itslef is fun for those asking and the soundtrack is one of the best also. But still is an abomination. When ME3 was released a lot of new players complained about the intro, the talk between Anderson and Shepard and scape from Earth. A lot of ME2 players complained because the hook from the intro came from Arrival, not ME2 itself. And they didn't played Arrival, even today the DLC is not cheap. The irony of it? Bioware did it again with Leviathan! I still ask myself to this day why Bioware left those two important arcs, totally related to the main plot and integral to fully understanding the story as "DLC". We know the why about Arrival, but Leviathan? I have an impression if Leviathan was in the main game the endings would be much more palatable and I will even go to lengths and say there won't be a uproar about it. I don't have data, statistics or other examples to back this statement, it's just an impression.

I love in my extreme renegade playthroughs to actually extort Anoleis, tell Parsini some 'truths' and then in ME2 betray her again. Why se asks my help the second time is beyond me, but like R. When ME3 was released a lot of new players complained about the intro, the talk between Anderson and Shepard and scape from Earth. A lot of ME2 players complained because the hook from the intro came from Arrival, not ME2 itself. And they didn't played Arrival, even today the DLC is not cheap. The dialogue between Shepard and Anderson at the beginning of ME3 changes depending if you played Arrival or not. If you did not play Arrival, Anderson says something along the lines of "...with the shit you've done, you would have been court martial-ed and left to rot in the brig." or something like that. He only mentions the Alpha Relay and 300,000 Batarians dying if you played Arrival.

Jeph Shepard has been quiet for a while. Now gearing up for a new ME3 mod (as yet unreleased) that most of you probably won't care about. Anyway, on with the show! Also, Origin lost all of my ME2 achievements, or at least ME2 thinks so since I'm regaining them.
- Got a mission that, in my log, said "N7". But it's a Cerberus mission. That motherfucker TIM is really on my shit list now for co-opting something I worked hard for as an Alliance marine. The op is about recovering a Cerberus operative, or at least whatever information he spilled, from Eclipse mercs. The operative was dead but the data was there. EDI said the information could be damaging to a terrorist organization. What's more damaging that BEING a terrorist organization? I could just relay it to TIM, but his image isn't a priority for me. I could keep it, but someone sneaky like Kasumi might steal it for him. Last option is to send it to the Alliance. They've got me pissed off now with stonewalling me about Kaidan but I'd still rather they had it than TIM - or any other party. They better appreciate this shit. That is what an N7 would do. And the email from Anderson said it was appreciated.
- Sent to the prison ship Purgatory to recruit a convict named Jack. Knew nothing about this person except he was a powerful biotic. I guess someone like him would be perfect for a suicide mission. But he's not Kaidan. Right now Garrus is my go-to guy for missions because he's the only one I can really trust. Also taking Mordin. I'd rather he worked on an anti-paralytic for the Collector swarm but as a salarian he knows the score when it comes to Cerberus. That makes him slightly more trustworthy than the flunkies, the thief and the merc. I normally shoot mercs if that tells you how I feel. - Some asshole tried to make me give up my guns and that just wasn't happening. I told him he could have one bullet. The warden backed down. The whole operation was sketchy. Even Garrus called the warden out on it being an extortion racket. He sent me to Outprocessing to wait for Jack. It was an empty room and I didn't go in. Lo and behold, the warden wanted to imprison us and extort Cerberus in exchange for our freedom. Garrus was right on the money. So we killed our way to the control room to release Jack. Which was when we found out that Jack was a small, heavily tattooed, shaved headed woman, and not a man as I'd presumed. Also watched her destroyed three YMIR mechs with her biotics. She was going to bring some serious firepower to the table. She tore the ship to shreds and we just followed in her wake. I took out the warden myself, watching him explode after a cryo blast froze him solid. - We found Jack throwing a fit over the Cerberus logo on our ship (yep, they really were stupid enough to brand terrorism). I took out a guard who was about to shoot her. She bitched and moaned about coming until I agreed to give her full access to Cerberus files. What the hell do I care if she sees what's in there? So we had a powerful biotic but it was anyone's guess if she'd follow orders. - On board, Miranda made a point of saying how "we follow orders". Ridiculous. Jack could probably play ball but not by trying to force her to submit.
- Jack went to the hold under engineering to read those promised files. I went to talk to her and got a schematic to upgrade her to L5X implants. Would make her even stronger. She also offered to go pirate with the ship. I was almost tempting, what with Cerberus being terrorists and the Alliance acting like assholes to me. (Well, I assumed Hackett and Anderson were keeping the Alliance off my back but they weren't exactly inviting me to return.) While down that way, played poker with the engineers. Won 500 credits by pretending I knew nothing. It impressed the hell out of Donnelly because it's a tactic he would have taken.
- Cerberus wanted crates that Eclipse mercs had smuggled on to the planet Daratar. I could give two shits about it but it was a chance to shoot some mercs. 13 out of 20 crates survived. Would have been more but Zaeed lobbed a grenade that took out a few crates along with a YMIR mech. Plus side is I got paid for those surviving crates.

Yeah, I finished literally everything (except ish's packages, I told him he's in over his head, and then the assigment will never get completed). I went to batarian space last night, on a rescue mission as a personal favor for Admiral Hacket. I managed to free agent Kenson from Batarian prison, and escorted her of planet. She said she had proof of an imminent reaper invasion, which I confirmed. Sadly the proof was an active reaper artifact, and she (and all of her team) were already indoctrinated by it. The only way to stop the reaper invasion was to send an asteroid into the mass effect relay, destroying it and basically all star systems in the area. I was about to warn the Batarian colonies so they could evacuate, but was interupted by Kenson who drugged me. By the time I woke up, and escaped my holding cell, there was no time to loose, arrival was just minutes away. I managed to do what had to be done, but doing so send close to 350.000 batarians to their death. And they couldn't all be slavers. I was debriefed by Hacket personally aboard the Normandy, who said he trusted me, and knew I didn't do what I did without proof, but he also told me to be ready to face the consequences. I made a last round on the Normandy said my goodbyes and set a course to earth, where I surrendered, both myself and my ship (I was done with Cerberus anyway, I knew I couldn't trust them; I hate always being right). Fast forward 2 years of being grounded, sleeping in a soft bed and eating hot meals, the day has finally come, the reapers have arrived. Earth is under attack. Anderson reinstated me, and sent me on the Normandy to the Citadel. He himself stayed behind to fight the reapers on earth. Lt. Vega, a friend / quard I met during my extended stay on earth was aboard and not happy we were leaving. I snapped at him which I regret now, he's a good soldier and not used to running from a fight. But we need to do this, we have to get everybody, every race involved if we want to survive this. Hacket contacted me, just as we left earth and told me Liara was investigating something in the Mars ruins, and I should go there before the reapers found that place. I hope I can reassemble my old team again. I miss Thane, and I think I will need people I can trust on this new mission. Kaiden is here, but I doubt he trusts me. But first things first, I need to find Liara and whatever she was researching.

After playing Andromeda I couldn't help laughing at how grouchy Shepard is, even when he's happy (at least happy enough). I also can't believe that I didn't realise that not doing all the loyalty missions didn't trigger Legion's loyalty mission. All I have to do now is put a boot up Kenson's ass. As Shepard is far more renegade this go round than usual, that shouldn't be too hard. I mean the Normandy is attacked, you have to grab Joker, you get spaced and instead of peaceful death you're respecced (kinda) and put back into service. No wonder he's cranky and more so at her than anyone else for giving him to Cerberus. and just because some pics from ME of Kaidan being adorable and distracting

I finally have Mass Effect: Andromeda working, but that will not stop me from playing Ahmed Shepard's adventures through the trilogy!
1. Ahmed Shepard talked to the Blue Suns mercs recruiter at Afterlife and became a freelancer. Some idiot kid wanted to join the mercs, but Ahmed broke his cheap pistol.
2. While trying to figure out how to get to Archangel, he talked to all the mercs leaders. They all had a personal and 'professional' vendetta against Archangel, a Turian vigilante who had slowly been making their lives a living hell on Omega. They had joined together to try and bring him down. Archangel had a team at one point, but now it was just him, but he was in a well-fortified position that was about to be overrun. Ahmed knew he had to act fast.
Luckily, from the information he had been told, he was going to go in with the freelancers, then kill the Infiltration team that had managed to sneak into the base. That should prove to Archangel that Ahmed was on his side.
Also, he sabotaged a heavy mech so that it would fire on the Eclipse mercs.
3. He killed the guy working on repairing a gunship, then moved in with the freelancers. Miranda was able to detonate a small explosive the Infiltration team was working on, killing the team and the freelancers. Then Ahmed killed the rest of the Infiltration team.
4. Ahmed was pleased to discover that Archangel was his old friend Garrus! Ahmed sniped a mech.
5. The Eclipse mercs attacked first. Ahmed and his team killed them all, with some additional help from the sabotaged YMIR mech.
6. The Blood Pack were coming in from the basement, so Ahmed left Miranda with Garrus and took Mordin to help him in the basement. They managed to seal all the doors in the basement, then ran back up to the apartment to help Garrus survive the remaining Blood Pack.
7. The Blue Suns attacked. Ahmed took out the mercs, but Garrus was injured when the mostly-repaired gunship hit him with a rocket. Ahmed took out the gunship with a Grenade Launcher. Ahmed and Mordin stabilized Garrus with medi-gel, and managed to get him off Omega onto the Normandy where Dr. Chakwas could perform surgery.
8. Garrus survived and reported for duty much sooner than expected. He talked to Ahmed about his team, and how one of his team members named Sidonis had betrayed him. He vowed revenge.
9. Ahmed took Garrus and Miranda to the prison ship Purgatory to recruit Subject Zero, a.k.a. Jack. The Blue Suns mercs gave a bad first impression when they wanted to confiscate Ahmed's guns, but relented when he refused to hand them over. The Blue Suns gave more bad impressions when the warden revealed the prison was more of an extortion racket than a prison, plus they were beating a prisoner, plus Ahmed found out they sold prisoners to other people like slavers or people looking for revenge.
10. And then the warden finally revealed he wanted to capture Ahmed and sell him for a high price. Ahmed was done with this place and fought his way out. He then opened every cell block on the ship to help free Jack. Jack turned out to be a barely-clothed, heavily-tattooed female who then destroyed three YMIR mechs in a powerful biotic display.
11. Ahmed chased after Jack, eventually killing the warden along the way. He convinced Jack to join the crew by giving her access to Cerberus data files.

Normandy
Commander Shepard received an email from Captain Bailey on the Citadel, regarding “the kid”, aka Kolyat. Bailey had kept Kolyat's legal problems out of the Citadel courts, and the drell was working with him to help “duct rat” kids from ending up like Mouse.
Shepard went to check in on Thane, and they talked about drell memory abilities and his philosophical beliefs on guilt and responsibility.
Crescent Nebula: Tarith - Blood Pack Communications Relay
While the Normandy continued to scan for resources in the Crescent Nebula, sensors detected Blood Pack transmissions on a planet called Tarith in the Lusarn system. The mercenary group had apparently set up a powerful communications relay on the planet. Shepard decided to investigate, talking Tali and Samara with her.
The planet was hellish, with a thick, green, chlorine fog drastically limiting visibility, and constant attacks by creatures similar to the ones Shepard and Grunt had fought during the krogan Rite of Passage (called klixen). As they made their way through the fog towards the relay, they found evidence of a Blood Pack mining operation, with information from datapads hinting at some other project that was desperate for resources, but no indication as to what it was.
They found the comm relay and defeated the Blood Pack forces guarding it. Shepard recovered as much data as she could for analysis.
Back on the Normandy, Shepard received an email from Cerberus Command. Their analysis of the data had uncovered a Blood Pack weapons plant on Zada Ban in the Shrike Abyssal.

I found Liara on mars, Cerberus troops were also there, trying to get there hands on the same data that we were after. They almost succeeded, but lt. Vega crashed their shuttle with ours, and prevented their escape. Kaiden was injured badly by a Cerberus agent who turned out to be a robot of sorts, we took him to a hospital on the Citadel. I hope he gets back on his feet, I can really use a soldier like him.
The council was as helpful as always, but the Turian coucil gave us a straw to hang on to; rescue their primarch from a Palaven moon, and he will be able (and hopefully willing) to lend us a hand in uniting the species and building the cruicible.
Hacket also had a lead on a Cerberus facility where they were researching Reaper artifacts. I paid them a visit and managed to remove some artifact for Hacket to study.

"Hi Alec, Noveria had more surprises in store than I had anticipated. First we were ambushed by Matriarch Benezia's geth when we entered the garage. Then when we arrived at Peak 15 there was no power and we had to restore it in order to get to our destination, Rift Station, by tram. And the same bug-like creatures I saw at these Cerberus bases were everywhere, attacking us. Well get this. They were fucking rachni! They were supposed to be extinct... I don't know how Cerberus got their hands on them, but at Rift Station we learned that the scientists had hatched a rachni from an egg they had found on a derelict ship. It was a queen, and they were trying to create an army of rachni soldiers. We were told by some guards that Matriarch Benezia was sent to eliminate them, because there was an accident. Yeah, who'd have figured? They got out and killed a lot of people at this facility. When we found Benezia, we learned the army of rachni was supposed to be used by Saren. I'm glad that didn't work out. We had to fight Benezias commandos and geth, then there was a moment where she could break free from the grasp of this Sovereign ship Saren uses. She told us that Saren is looking for the lost Mu Relay in order to get to his destination, the Conduit. She had extracted the information from the rachni queen, and I asked her to give it to us as well. She did. That alone doesn't help us, but it's another step towards finding Saren. After Benezia gave us the information, her moment of clarity was over and we had to defend ourselves. She was her old self again when she died. It's so sad it came to this. It's not her fault becoming what she did, being indoctrinated. She just wanted to help Saren. Makes you wonder if Saren is actually doing all this because he wants to, or maybe because he is already indoctrinated too. After Benezia had died I went to check out the rachni queen trapped inside a tank, when something really freaky happened. An asari corpse suddenly stood behind me and started talking. The rachni queen controlled her and spoke to me through her. Never seen anything like it. It was intriguing. She told us that the rachni we encountered so far were beyond help, that they were raised without her influence, lost already. She asked us to purge them. And also pleaded for her own life. Promised to not attack other races again and teach her children harmony. I thought about it for a moment, but... bloody hell, Alec, I set her free in the end. We both know what happened with the rachni back then, but I couldn't just kill her in there. She deserved a chance. Wrex didn't like it of course, but Kaidan was with me on this. She was the last of her kind, and unlike the thorian, I had a real choice here. When I released her, the queen looked back once more, and of course these bugs don't have expressions on their faces, but I just know she was grateful. Sounds kinda weird, I know. And I hope I made the right choice. After that we set out to purge her children. Man, I couldn't wait to get away from this place. So we made it back to the Normandy right away. We had our debrief, then I went to check up on Liara. I had thought about what I'd say to her and everything, but she took her mother's death surprisingly well. How can it be this easy? Okay, I don't know if easy is the right word, as I'm sure she suffers, even if quietly... but I cried for weeks, for all of you. Maybe it's different for her because she was not that close to her mum anymore for years. I don't know. I guess it doesn't matter now. Kaidan opened up some more about his past too. Shit, he killed his trainer at BAaT, a program for human biotics. He stood up for a girl he liked when the trainer broke her arm. They got into a fight and Kaidan accidentally snapped the guy's neck. That must've been tough on him. I'm glad he told me about it though. We get along really well and I can feel we trust each other. He's becoming a good friend and someone I like to confide in. And I like that despite his experience in the past, he doesn't hold a grudge towards aliens. I know exactly what it's like. I had to overcome my hatred of batarians, and tell myself over and over that not all of them are like those scum slavers. And now I just came back from having a drink with Ashley. Ash. She asked me to join her. Told me today is Armistice Day. I had totally forgotten. The day that marks the end of the First Contact war. Remember how we used to watch the history vids about it? Man, we were so obsessed with space and the Alliance. Makes me smile thinking about it. Well anyway, Ash and her family made it an obligation to mark this day. The general who surrendered to the turians at Shanxi was her grandfather. Her family hasn't been treated well after this, and now I know why she only ever got crap assignments and why she's pushing herself so hard. She and I don't always see eye to eye (she's not exactly a big fan of aliens), but underneath she's a sweet person. I also know she has a thing for me. Too bad we've got regs. Actually, it's a good thing there are. Keeps me from another night I might regret in the morning. Well, I better get some sleep now. Jeph Shepard: - Responded to an actual Alliance call to investigate the missing MSV Estevanico. Found it, but it had to be a solo mission. Most of it was destroyed but the part containing the mainframe was teetering on the edge of a cliff. Had to retrieve its information before it fell and squadmates were unnecessary weight. Got it just in time for that ship to make it's final burial deep inside the planet. Some museum curator said the ship had been attacked by the Blood Pack, including a first encounter with vorcha. The damn rats of the galaxy. (Note: I did this three times because clipping kept getting me stuck in mid-air. It should have appeared in my description from the last time I played but I got frustrated.) - Went to Zorya to help Zaeed with whatever his problem was. Brought Jack along for the ride. It involved killing mercs. She'd be on board with that. I know I was. We were going after the leader of the Blue Suns. Turned out Zaeed had co-started the Suns and been betrayed by the this guy, which had cost him his eye for starters. This planet also had those space monkeys like the ones who had stolen a data packet I had to retrieve back when I was hunting Saren. Vido Santiago was in a refinery on the planet. Problem was that to get to him I had to let a whole lot of innocent refinery workers die. People who know me as the Butcher of Torfan think I'd let them die because I let a lot of Marines die. The difference is that Marines sign up to put their lives in danger to protect others. The same isn't true of people who got a job in a refinery. They're the people who we risk our lives for. Zaeed was pissed that Vido ended up getting away but, if it wasn't already clear, mercs weren't people I aimed to please. If you can believe it, Zaeed agreed to put his revenge behind him for now. - Investigating the MSV Rosalie. Some scientists named Cayce and O'Loy were involved so I decided to bring my own science team: Miranda and Mordin. To reach them, had to make use of a hovercraft called the Hammerhead. It had paper thin armor. It was no Mako but I either worked with this or a Cerberus shuttle. It was a boring mission. We collected research data and moved on. - Off to Korlus to recruit some krogan warlord. Brought Garrus and, for the hell of it, Jacob. It seemed like a Zaeed or Jack mission but I was playing it different. Turned out this krogan was churning out clones for a mercenary leader, one who was currently employing the Blue Suns. Only it turned out the were insane, though one krogan we met was amiable enough and gave us some help. Warlord Okeer, as it turned out, was looking to create the perfect krogan, one that wasn't so much immune to the genophage as able to ignore it. However, the merc leader realized Okeer had turned on her and was going to kill the one perfect krogan he'd created. He'd done so with technology gained from the Collectors. That made his value quotient considerably greater. He offered his help against the Collectors in exchange for stopping her now former employer. Fine, killed her, her krogan rejects and her YMIR mechs. Unfortunately, she had poisoned the breeding tanks. Okeer chose his perfect krogan over himself and vented the poison into the lab instead, which killed him. Now I had this krogan and had to decide to release it or not. Jacob was for it, Miranda opposed. I decided that the Normandy crew was mostly replaceable, given that they were Cerberus, so I decided to release the krogan. He named himself Grunt and agreed to follow me. - My fish died and I needed to go to the Citadel to buy more. But TIM prevented us from leaving until I talked to him. Asshole. When I did, he said that the Collectors were on Horizon and we needed to go immediately. I agreed but the last thing he told me would have convinced me no matter what: Kaidan was there. No way I was going to risk him being abducted. This sounded like a job for Jack and Grunt. Needed serious firepower here. Good thing Mordin had completed his countermeasure. It was a go.

When ME3 was released a lot of new players complained about the intro, the talk between Anderson and Shepard and scape from Earth. A lot of ME2 players complained because the hook from the intro came from Arrival, not ME2 itself. And they didn't played Arrival, even today the DLC is not cheap. The dialogue between Shepard and Anderson at the beginning of ME3 changes depending if you played Arrival or not. If you did not play Arrival, Anderson says something along the lines of "...with the shit you've done, you would have been court martial-ed and left to rot in the brig." or something like that. He only mentions the Alpha Relay and 300,000 Batarians dying if you played Arrival.
Oh yes, I know that.
The problem with the intro and to an extent, Mars, you don't have a clear idea why the Council and some squadmates distrust Shepard. Differently from ME1 and ME2, the Codex also don't provide a clear picture.
So if you haven't played the previous games Kaydan and Ashley came out as obnoxious, when in fact they have a point to question Shepard about Cerberus. Also, at the same time it shows something about friendship, isn't?
A friend is a friend, even if he or she is wrong at the time. Or a lover if one of them was romanced.
Currently playing a femShep called "Desdemona". How do you people think she would fare?
