I attempted the Mirror Match in the Armax Arena on Insanity a few times. I never once made it past the first wave I only played it on Normal for the achievement and it was tough enough. Now I don't do it because it just takes too many matches to get everything unlocked, and I'd rather cash in for gold to buy weapon upgrades.
I did do all the quest matches in my last game on Insanity. The broken level with all boss enemy waves was tough. I needed a few attempts to get it - usually died on the last wave. I really think you should get more than a gold prize for that match.
I did it on Normal during my first playthrough and got the achievement; as I recall, it took several attempts. The Fatal Error mission is something of a masochistic favourite of mine, I have a couple of videos of it:

Nick Shepard (Adept, Earthborn, Sole Survivor) had to flee Earth, nearly got killed by a robot, went to find a Turian (and ended up with two) and was reunited with a crazy tattoo lady.
I suspect Team Noveria (Garrus and Liara) could end up as Team Every Mission this time.

I did Mordin's LM on Monday and Grunt's this morning, so here's the blabbing: "Hi Alec, just back from Tuchanka! We ran into quite a few surprises. I thought we wouldn't really be welcome there, and since I also had to bring my salarian crew member I expected some trouble. But the one in charge was actually my old buddy Urdnot Wrex. I was really happy to see him. He looked good and I was even more happy to hear that he tried to turn around the krogan situation. He didn't want the clans apart from each other anymore, so that instead of fighting amongst themselves, they'd unite under clan Urdnot (even the females who live isolated from the males) and make the krogan race stronger as a whole. An ambitious idea, but more or less it seems to be working. Wrex took a look at Grunt, and he was just in a phase where he needed to grow up, become an adult. He had to undergo a rite that would make him a clan member if he passed. It's a tradition for krogan called the Rite of Passage. We also asked Wrex about something Mordin had heard about recently. He had received intel that a salarian he worked with in the past, his former student Maelon, had been captured by the Blood Pack and was last seen on Tuchanka. We were told to speak with the scout commander for more information. Since this was the more pressing matter we immediately took a truck to where he pointed us, an old krogan hospital the clan that had Maelon used as their base. We had to walk a little to get there, but once we did, we saw gruesome experiments, on a human, on some female krogan. It was sad to see. Even Mordin was shaken up despite him being part of the genophage modification, which... ultimately led to this. Because when we found Maelon, it turned out that he hadn't actually been captured, he was there voluntarily. He never got over it that the salarians updated the genophage, and he was trying to help the krogan by finding a cure. It was an admirable goal, but his methods were just barbaric, and he clearly had chosen the wrong clan to do this for. Mordin was ready to shoot Maelon for what he had done, but I could keep him from doing it. No need for more bloodshed, and Maelon's intentions were good. He ran and we decided on what to do with his data on a cure. I said to Mordin that it would be better to hang on to it. Surprisingly, he agreed. We returned to Wrex's base and went to see the krogan shaman there. One of the clans disapproved sending in a tank-bred krogan, but we had permission from Wrex. The shaman approved and we were taken to an arena-like area. Grunt didn't have to fight alone, but it was kind of a weird ritual and I'm glad we escaped with our lives. We had to fight some varren and klixen, bug things I've seen before on another planet. They explode when they die, it's pretty messy. Fighting these was already troubling enough, but the final round consisted of a fucking thresher maw. I was under so much adrenaline from my bad memories that I just kept shooting at it in rage. I wanted this thing to go down at any cost. Eventually, it did. Man, it felt surreal. We had killed a bloody thresher maw on foot! But just when I had started to calm down a little we were surprised by some members of this damn krogan clan that had a problem with Grunt. Their leader asked Grunt to join him, but he only wanted him for his strength, as a trophy. He would have had no rights to breed. It was an easy decision for Grunt. We took them all down. And Grunt became Urdnot Grunt. I wish Wrex could've come with me, but I understand the importance of him staying and doing his thing. I didn't see a lot of Tuchanka, but it looked bad. It's so desolate, such a wasteland. Ruined. But I guess that's what happens when krogan fight each other on their homeworld. If they have a chance for peace amongst themselves, maybe the krogan race can thrive once again at some point. And maybe Mordin can even help with that. I can understand why he thought it necessary to keep the krogan population in check, but he also told me that they made sure the krogan were never eradicated. He wants the krogan to live. I still don't think the genophage was the right thing to do, but I can see where he's coming from. I'm quite content with how this turned out. Mordin and Grunt both are alright. Mordin even has dealt already with what happened on Tuchanka. I could see his distress during the time, but he was totally calm about it now when it's only been a few hours since everything happened. He said it's a salarian thing. Man, wish I could deal this quickly with things. Time for some sleep now, but we're already heading to our next destination to get an IFF that allows us to travel through the Omega 4 relay. A derelict Reaper. Sounds fun, eh? Wish me luck. -Dee" Pics: It's been so long since I had this feeling of friendship with Wrex Hm... a few?! I always find this line hilarious. Trying to make nice with Weyrloc. Haha. I like this dialogue, but it's only the second time I picked it, I think. Grunt and his krantt Yay, success! First time taking Grunt to Mordin's LM. I was kinda disappointed he didn't comment on anything at all I died once during this mission. Then twice during the Uvenk section... Got cocky and tried to melee, then ran out like an idiot and got flanked by a krogan I had overlooked Since I didn't have a lot of time to play this week, I compensated by watching some of Red's vids during my breaks at work and now I want to play a Shockwave Adept so badly And last night I got back into MP with 2 of my colleagues. I'm usually no MP person and rarely play ME3MP, but I do like it, so we'll probably keep doing this for some time Started on Bronze since we all come from different platforms, but play this on PC now and first have to get a few decent things. Heh.

Well I was blissfully playing ME1. Just barely finished Eden Prime as I was in the middle of the cutscene back on the Normandy where Shepard wakes when bwham my power went out. So now I am sitting here looking at the bsn on my phone.

Korynn sat down and had a nice chat with Kasumi over a few drinks. She thinks she is very insightful and her sweet, supportive nature makes Korynn want to visit with her more. She appreciated words of encouragement regarding her relationship with Liara and suspected that she coordinated with her on the mission against Hock. Neither Kasumi nor Liara mentioned anything, but it smacked of something Liara would have helped with. She also recognized little touches in the op that would have come from Liara. She hates wearing dresses, but understood the reason for it in this case. Kasumi's appreciation of her in the dress was embarrassing. During the return trip, Kasumi owned up to looking at Shepard while she was changing back into her armor and mentioned that she thought Liara was a "lucky girl." Joker also had some snide comments about Korynn in a dress. (fic) Afterward, the Normandy visited the Migrant fleet to exonerate Tali. She did not appreciate their attempts to smear her best friend's name all for the sake of politics. Korynn enjoyed shouting at the Admiralty as much as Tali enjoyed hearing it. Discovering the truth about Rael, and his fate was heartbreaking. Korynn has made a point to keep her door open for Tali, which she has taken advantage of. Later onboard, Tali confessed to having a crush on Korynn. Korynn felt flattered. After a long talk, Tali decided that she is confusing appreciation with infatuation. Tali apologized to Korynn and to Liara. Liara was taken aback, but understood why Tali might feel something for Korynn and thanked Tali for being honest. Privately, Liara asked Korynn if she was interested in Tali. Korynn confessed to Liara that she loves Tali as a close friend and would like her to remain in her life, but is madly in love with Liara. She added that meant what she said on Normandy when she said she wanted to build a life exclusively with Liara. (fic) While in the engineering spaces, Korynn had a nice chat with Jack and got to know her better. Korynn enjoyed her war stories and would love to hear more of them. She thinks that Jack's attempts to intimidate her are cute. She also thinks that Jack attempting to hijack the Normandy would be a decent training exercise and has half a mind to ask Jack to really attempt it. Aside from that, Korynn understands Jack more than she thinks. Then, it was on to the Citadel. Korynn let Garrus shoot Harkin (he deserved it), and convinced Garrus to spare Sidonis, but understood why he wanted to kill Sidonis. She is worried that convincing him to spare Sidonis has damaged her friendship with him. It hasn't seemed to, but time will tell. Once back on board Normandy, she had a nice chat with Samara. She asked her about Justicars, and finds them fascinating. Korynn was amused when Samara stated that she liked humans. Korynn doesn't care for humans much. Samara is a good friend.

Feel free to PM me if you'd like to play MP with me on PS3. I won't be free to play next weekend, mind. I'm liking Dee's armour, you've effectively recreated the ME1 Mantis/Predator armours, I think. @ identiaetslos: I'm also liking the fanfic elements that you're bringing into your posts. Is that the Aegis armour that Korynn is rocking in those pics? It looks good!

I can't wait to see how it works out.

"Hey Alec, sometimes I really can't get over the crazy shit that's happening around me. We went to get this Reaper IFF I told you about. We had no choice but to board the Reaper and get it, because the Omega 4 relay only recognises ships with those installed. Without EDI we'd never have known about this. It's no surprise no ship ever made it back from this relay. And we'd have met the same fate had we gone through just like that. I gotta hand it to the Illusive Man... he knows his stuff, and the idea to incorporate an AI into the Normandy was a brilliant one. So we boarded this dead Reaper in space, but shortly after a kinetic barrier went up, trapping us inside unless we'd shut it down from the inside again. EDI determined that we needed to head to the mass effect core to do that, so that was the plan. Along the way, we found some interesting things. Countless husks were on this Reaper and at some point, two husks dropped dead right in front of us, then a couple minutes later someone took a few shots at some husks behind us, probably saving our lives. It was a geth. We knew geth were likely there, Joker told me this when we approached the Reaper, but I never would've thought it would only be one in the end. And that it would not kill us. Nor kill the science team the Illusive Man had stationed on the Reaper. They fell victim to indoctrination. Poor buggers. We found out that the Reapers were indeed the ones responsible for turning humans into husks. I don't even want to know what happened on this ship. Found those spikes like the ones on Eden Prime too. Dragon's teeth... But anyway, the geth spoke to me, it even knew my name. Then it disappeared, but we later met it again in the ship's core, right after we got the IFF. It tampered with some console when it was overrun by husks. I destroyed the core and the barriers dropped, but we knew destroying the core also led to the Reaper wreck falling into the planet core. We had to get off this ship, and then it happened really fast. Both Mordin and Kasumi argued to take the geth with us. To be honest I was tempted anyway. Tali told me that no intact geth had ever been captured, so this was a chance to find out more, why it helped us, why it talked and especially why it knew my name. It was a close call, but we made it back to the Normandy in one piece. Miranda and Jacob objected when I said I wanted to activate the geth, but we had EDI on our side, and my curiosity was far too big to just leave it alone. Everything went fine. The geth knew a lot about me, but it wasn't hostile. It told me that the geth I fought back then were 'heretics', a certain group of the geth that follow the Reapers. It said that the other geth oppose both these heretics and the Reapers, that the Reapers are a threat to the geth as well. The geth wanted to join our fight against the Collectors. That was some pretty weird shit considering my past experiences, but hey, I'll take the help. So now we have a real geth on board, it's friendly, and it wants to help me. Seriously, this is crazy, isn't it? I'm used to geth shooting at me, not shaking hands with me. EDI dubbed it 'Legion' by the way, since geth don't have names. Legion also told me about a heretic station in the Terminus Systems and that they have a virus that would rewrite all the other geth to their side. I want to check it out. If it's true this could mean some really bad things. I know we have the IFF, but once it works we need to get to this station right away. Speaking of the IFF, EDI said it would take a few hours to test it, so I talked to some of the crew to kill at least a little time. I learned that Mordin never would've agreed with the initial uplifting of the krogan, but of course he wasn't around back then. He thinks it's the fault of the salarians who decided this that the krogan did to Tuchanka and themselves what they did. Hard to argue with that. I kind of see the justification for the genophage, I do. Maybe the krogan would've completely destroyed Tuchanka and themselves if they hadn't been stopped, but I just wonder if there was no other way at all. Can't think of any, really. Still, it's just sad it came to this. It sure is no easy topic. I kinda wish now we'd have spent more time talking about this back then, on Mindoir. We knew about the genophage, didn't we? I guess we were just too young to really realise what it meant for the krogan race. And well, the fact that we obsessed way too much over space, ships and tech instead of other things. Surprisingly, I'm feeling okay right now. Honestly. I feel oddly calm. We've done everything we can, for the team, for a safe-ish passage through the Omega 4 relay. When we are done with the heretic station, we are ready to go through the relay. Whatever lies beyond, whatever our chances - and I don't think they are all that great - I'm ready to give it everything I've got. -Dee" Pics: That was one of the most entertaining Derelict Reaper runs I've had! Bringing Kasumi was just so funny. Her and my Flashbang grenades made the husks blow up in the greatest way. Amazing It's crazy I didn't die this time either. I used to loathe this mission, but I get through rather well lately Well, I couldn't resist and made a short video of Flashbang goodness, so here it is!

I played a lot of ME:A multiplayer this weekend, but I did set aside some time to continue Ahmed Shepard's journey through the trilogy. I'll post about later this week when I am not as tired.

Jeph Shepard: - I checked out Anderson's - my - apartment. Someone already tracked me down and sent me a message. It was from Joker. He wanted to meet me for dinner and drinks at the hottest sushi restaurant on the Citadel - Ryuusei. I was game. I could pretend the fish I was eating were skewered Leviathans and that we ate them before the created a massively powerful genocidal AI that's destroyed countless races over millions - if not billions - of years. Best part is the aquarium floors, very reminiscent of the wall in my cabin. - Then it was all spoiled when Joker mentioned I had sent him a message about something important. Something was up. When some bumbling intelligence operative named Staff Analyst Maya Brooks showed up, the night was ruined. She said someone new was trying to kill me and had hacked my account. That seemed to jibe with what had happened. Joker's, too, it looked like. This was followed by a mercenary attack. I sent Joker to find the others, they grabbed Brooks and I grabbed a sweet pistol I didn't recognize from one of them. It packed a hell of a punch. I managed to get Brooks but she jumped in the way of a bullet meant for me. Then they shot the aquarium out from under me. I fell...far. Can't tell you how I survived it because I don't know. Brooks was able to establish contact with me but told me to maintain comm silence with anyone but her because I could be tracked. But I had to imagine those communications could also be heard. - I headed for Cision Motors as a pickup point for a potential C-Sec shuttle. First person I heard from was Kaidan, who was nearby and on foot. Then Garrus said he was en route. When I got there, my man was taking down mercs. - We went to meet the shuttle sent for is. Somehow, instead of C-Sec, it was full of those damn mercs! Wrex objected, leaping onto it, forcing it down. Have no idea where he came from but questions could wait until later. - Finally, Joker showed up with Brooks in an actual safe shuttle. We convened back at the apartment. Liara showed up and decided to look into the pistol to see if it could be traced to our enemy. Then Joker walked in with Garrus, EDI, Javik, Tali and James. Looks like shore leave is cancelled for everyone.

I got a good chunk of ME2 finished this weekend.

I got quite a bit done over the weekend. Finished all the recruiting except for Legion. Grunt remains in the tank, at least for now. Helped Liara with her Shadow Broker issue then Miranda and Jack's loyalties. Solved their little dust up with some choice admonishments. Finally visited Anderson. Councillor Udina declined giving me Spectre status, didn't bother Svet too much. Assassinated a turian politician and helped Garrus deal with Sidonis... Permanently. Bailey is such a corrupt cop he barely blinked an eye. Rid the Citadel of a troublesome agitator, take a crime boss down a peg and wreck Fade's info network? Works for him, and he keeps the Policeman's Ball donations.
A few minor sidequests down later, the Normandy arrived at the Project Overlord site and I called it quits for the night.

Well between the power outages the other night and visiting family yesterday I didn't have a chance to do much in ME 1. Got to the citadel and got Garrus on board and about to go get Wrex. Did play some ME 3 multiplayer earlier today. People are still playing it. Think I prefer it to MEA's multiplayer.

I had a little spare time this evening, so loaded up an old ME2 Hardcore save, upped it to Insanity and vanguarded my way through the derelict Reaper. Took Mordin (for Incineration Blast) and Zaeed (for Inferno Grenades), so the Normandy trio left a trail of burned husks in their wake. I Cained the drive core, of course I only died once, amazingly: at the first part with two Scions. I wasn't running my video capture device so can't actually prove any of this, mind It was really just "practice": I'm considering redoing the suicide mission as this Shepard, metagaming it so different characters die, and importing that into ME3 so I can see some different content without having to do a whole new playthrough. I'd also mix things up in ME3 with different weapons and bonus power.

Today, Korynn visited Aeia with Jacob and Samara to investigate reports that Jacob had found his father. He did, and what else they found was enough to unnerve everyone in the landing party. It was very Lord of the Flies. Jacob seemed to process it well, but Korynn is concerned that the shock may hit him much later down the line. She has asked Dr. Chakwas to keep an eye on him. In the briefing room, Jacob seemed to admit to having a something that sounded like more than a professional relationship with Miranda. This surprised Korynn considering Miranda has been paying a lot of attention to Jack as of late, and Jacob doesn't really seem like her type. Kasumi also admitted to having an attraction to Jacob. Korynn thinks that Tali would be a better match for Kasumi (if either would be open to such a thing). Then, it was on to Tuchanka. It was nice to see Wrex again. He was impressed that Korynn also brought Samara to Grunt's Rite of Acceptance, and got emotional when Korynn explained that bringing the Asari Justicar along was Liara's idea stating that Liara had "grown up fast." (fic) She was grateful to Clan Urdnot. Korynn believes that all life seeks a connection, regardless of how they were hatched. Giving Grunt a home was something important for him as a person, and it seems to have focused his rage. Which is also good for the glass on the Normandy. Additionally, it was nice giving the missile launcher some exercise, and while Liara might not headbutt people, Korynn does. Chakwas said the concussion was minor. While on Tuchanka, Korynn and Mordin both investigated Maelon's involvement with vicious experiments aimed at curing the genophage, or so he claims. Mordin seemed to be shocked by the atrocities as much as Korynn and Samara were, but at the same time, she could understand either wanting to atone for their crimes. She also understands the Salarians' trepidation regarding a return of the Krogan. Especially judging by what they had done to their own planet. However, she disagreed with the idea of playing God with them for the purpose of dominance, and the subsequent anthropocentric culture that has come from it. Though, she did find it fascinating that the Krogan were developing a natural immunity to it, but there was no way to tell for certain whether they would before it was too late for them. She convinced Mordin to spare Maelon with the idea that he disappear, and had Mordin take the data to be analyzed later. Regardless of the long term picture, more Krogan in the coming fight against the Reapers, the better the odds. After that, it was on to Aite to investigate Project Overlord for The Illusive Man. Quietly, Korynn agreed with Jack's colorful metaphors for the assignment. At first, Korynn decided to take Tali and Miranda along for the mission, deciding that Tali's ability to hack into Geth systems and the information uncovered would be fascinating to her. She thought it was, but was still recovering from an illness earlier, and returned to the ship. For the second half of the investigation, Korynn brought down Jack to accompany both her and Miranda. There was bickering between Jack and Miranda over who got to "operate the gun" on the Hammerhead. (fic) Miranda was oddly quiet about everything, but the distress in her face was telling. Surprisingly, Jack let it go and instead focused her energy on defending the landing party when they were attacked by Geth. Jack even saved Korynn's life. Everything about this facility was wrong, and the darkest thing she has witnessed in her career. She turned David over to the Grissom Academy, and hopes that they will help him recover. Being mentally abducted by David was a bit disconcerting, but enough experience with being mentally hijacked by various living organisms has Korynn developing more of an annoyance to it than anything else. It gave her a mild headache which Chakwas treated. (fic) Finally, it was on to Hagalaz to pick up some new supplies that Liara said was waiting for her. Korynn had planned on being greeted by Liara's AI as usual, but instead found her home for once, giving her the opportunity to deliver her usual bouquet of flowers in person and a bolt of yellow Thessian silk that Liara said she had wanted for her window treatments. Feron was off running a job for Liara, leaving the two with the chance to be alone. They had dinner, and Liara also provided an update on some of her dealings since becoming Shadow Broker while Korynn caught her up on everything going onboard Normandy. There may also have been some shenanigans. (fic)

I wanted to play the abduction part for ME2 last night and my friends and I had planned to play ME3MP from 7-9 p.m. We played until shortly after midnight... and I didn't play ME2 at all We already play on Silver and while it can be very devastating (wave 10 fail etc...), it's fun. Too much fun! I played some rounds with Drell Adept, Human Engineer, Human Sentinel, and Human Vanguard. At some point all 3 of us played Human Vanguard (in stylish pink armor ) and another guy who joined us switched from a Batarian to Vanguard as well and it was just way too hilarious. Goddamnit, is this going to be my life from now on?

Karen Shepard, Soldier, ME2 cont'd:
Project Overlord – It All Seemed Harmless
Shocking news – a Cerberus experiment designed to enslave another race (the geth, in this case), went horribly wrong and got a bunch of people killed. Shepard felt compelled to investigate this unprecedented turn of events.
The Normandy travelled to Aite in The Phoenix Massing. Shepard, Tali, and Samara took the Hammerhead vehicle down to Hermes Station, the administration offices for Project Overlord. The place was filled with the bodies of Cerberus personnel, and the team soon found out why - they were attacked by a number of geth platforms. The project lead for Overlord, Dr Gavin Archer, contacted them from his hiding spot and told them that an VI was controlling the geth, and was trying to use the satellite uplink to gain access to the extranet, an warned of potentially catastrophic results if it succeeded.
They were able to defeat the geth forces, destroying the satellite dish in the process. Archer came out of hiding and gave them the details of what had happened. As part of a harebrained scheme to control the geth and thereby prevent another war with humanity, Archer's autistic brother David had interfaced with a VI. The process had broken David's mind (“he's like a virus now”), and the David / VI hybrid was out of control. He / it had infected the network and taken control of all nearby technology, including security mechs and geth platforms from a crashed ship, that he used to attack the Cerberus personnel.
Archer informed Shep and her team that they would need to manually shut down the security system from two facilities – Vulcan Station, the project's power plant, and Prometheus Station, the crashed geth ship. Then they would be able to access Atlas Station, the main laboratory where David and the VI were located.
Vulcan Station was guarded by mechs and drones. Shep and her team defeated them and activated the security override with little trouble. Prometheus Station was a geth ship full of “dormant machines”, who naturally became much less dormant as soon as Shepard hit the security override. They survived the geth counter attack and escaped. At both locations, there appeared on view-screens unintelligible transmissions from the VI – later, it became clear that it was saying “Quiet, please make it stop!”
Atlas Station is where things really got weird. When Shep attempted to shut down the VI, it somehow accessed her omni-tool and cybernetic implants, and she saw a “virtual reality” overlay on top of the real world – she was linked with the David/VI hybrid. She witnessed David's memories of what had happened – his knack for communicating with the geth, how Gavin had pushed David into interfacing directly with the geth neural network (under pressure from The Illusive Man for results), and how the process left David traumatized and out of control.
Shepard reached the VI core and found David hooked up to some apparatus that looked like some sort of torture device. She defeated the VI before it could upload itself to the Normandy, and freed David. Gavin showed up, and despite his obvious remorse at what he had done to his brother, attempted to rationalize his actions, and beg to be allowed to care for David. Shepard wasn't the slightest bit interested in any of that, and pistol-whipped him into submission when he foolishly tried to attack her.
Shepard made arrangements to have David transferred to Grissom Academy, where he'd be properly looked after without being exploited by Cerberus.
With Project Overlord destroyed, The Illusive Man sent Shep his usual passive-aggressive email, where he called her decision “understandable” but then went on to complain about how wrong she was and that Cerberus had suffered a terrible setback as a result of her actions. Shep would have pistol-whipped him, as well, if he'd been there in person.

Well Tracy Shepard finally got proof that Saren was behind the attack on Eden Prime from a Quarian that was on the run. Tracy offered protection to the Quarian in return for the Quarian's assistance. As a result the council tasked Tracy with hunting down Saren and made her a spectre. Tracy was given command of the Normandy and investigated her first lead which was an Asari scientitst and a daughter of Matriarch Benezia. This Liara also happens to be a Prothean expert so here knowledge of the Protheans can come in handy and if it doesn't her biotics will.

From the weekend:
Mordin had created a cure for the genophage, so it was time to head out to Tuchanka. Ahmed Shepard called everyone to the war room to discuss strategy.
Complication 1: A Reaper Destroyer had parked itself beside The Shroud, the facility they were going to use to distribute the genophage cure. The Reaper Destroyer was using it poison Tuchanka's atmosphere. Nuclear radiation fallout and poison air? (And flesh eating flora and fauna? And aggressively violent natives?) Tuchanka is so awesome...
Tentative plan: Turian fighters in the air and Krogan trucks on the ground distract the Destroyer while Mordin synthesizes the cure and distributes it in The Shroud.
Complication 2: The Salarian Dalatrass called Shepard and offered him a deal: if he sabotages the cure, she will give the Alliance the full support of the Salarian fleet. The STG had already sabotaged The Shroud years ago; Ahmed only needed to make sure Mordin did not counteract the Sabotage.
When travelling to meet the Krogan clans, Eve noticed Ahmed's distant look and asked what he was thinking. "Just thinking about Earth." he replied. It was partly true.
After meeting the Krogan clans -- which nearly ended up with Krogan-on-Krogan violence over Mordin's presence, Wrex managed to convince the clans about the plan. Eve again noticed Ahmed's troubled expression, but Ahmed brushed it off. Wrex's ideas about a new Krogan Empire were disturbing. It also did not help that the other clans did not share Wrex's views. Even Wrex himself once said he did not want to change his people, and his people were violent. EDI's and Mordin's past explanations of Krogan birthrates and the STG simulations about increased Krogan population resulting in war did not help matters.
Things only seemed to get worse from there. The planned two-pronged attack was broken when the Krogan force was delayed because of a bad road. Ahmed Shepard went on foot through some ruins while the Krogan trucks went around. While in the ruins, they felt tremors which turned out to be caused by a Thresher Maw burrowing under the earth. The Krogan called it Kalros, nicknaming it "The Mother of all Thresher Maws". Nightmares of Akuze and several encounters while chasing Saren convinced Ahmed to not stick around the ruins for long. They also ran into a strange corpse, which scans showed to be Reaper-modified Rachni, proving the Rachni rumors true.
And once out of the ruins, they ran headlong into Reaper ground troops, and then caught sight of Kalros as it chased after the Krogan trucks. Time was now of the essence. If they did not make it to The Shroud soon, there would be no cure and no Krogan-Turian alliance. No Krogan-Turian alliance meant war was as good as lost. Ahmed was not even sure they could win the war, Prothean super-weapon or not.
And then the most audacious plan: summon Kalros to the Reaper Destroyer by using Maw Hammers set up near the Shroud. Simple plan, but difficult execution. Getting to the Shroud proved nearly fatal when the Reaper Destroyer noticed them and fired at their position several times. The Turians managed to distract the Reaper just in time, but then the Reaper starting dropping Brutes. After surviving the assault as well as Destoryed foot stomps, Ahmed managed to activate the Maw Hammers.
The good news: Kalros attacked the Destroyer and dragged it underground. The bad news: during the struggle, Kalros knocked The Shroud, destabilizing it.
And then the moment of fate: Mordin detected a heat malfunction and needed to go up the Shroud tower to fix it. Ahmed came clean and told Mordin about the sabotage and the Dalatrass's offer. Mordin was disappointed that Ahmed had not told him about it earlier, but understood that it was a difficult decision to make. However, Mordin was determined to cure the genophage. Ahmed tried to talk him down, asking why he defended the genophage earlier. "I made a mistake!" Mordin shouted. "Big picture made up of little pictures." he explained. He wanted to set things right.
Ahmed pulled out a pistol and pointed it at Mordin. "Walk away," he ordered. Mordin bowed his head, then looked back up at Ahmed with grim determination. "No," he said. "Shoot me if you must." He turned and walked towards the elevator.
Ahmed's finger tightened around the trigger. A bead of sweat rolled down his brow, a result of the Tuchanka heat and growing fatigue. Ahmed squinted and his aim faltered. A thousand images and sounds flew through his mind, a collage of memories bombarded his thoughts.
Mordin working in the Normandy lab, Earth under attack. Screams and burning flesh, Eve handing Ahmed the crystal she used to dig her way out of the cave. Mordin explaining his work on the genophage modification, Wrex telling Ahmed his plans for uniting the Krogan clans. The Dalatrass offering the deal, Mordin's standing up to Wrex in the medical bay. EDI explaining to Shepard the logistics needed to move the Krogan to help the Turians, Mordin telling Ahmed about STG simulations, Urdnot clan members unsure about Wrex's leadership.
Ahmed fired. Mordin let out a soft cry and stumbled into the elevator, landing in a heap. The elevator doors closed and carried Mordin's body up the tower. Sad, angry, and disappointed, Ahmed flung the gun aside and walked away.
Ahmed tried to sleep that night, but only had nightmares.

More to come later (it's getting late.)
I am mostly playing ME:A multiplayer during the week; it takes time to complete the daily challenges and some of the APEX strike team missions. Hopefully I can finish recounting what I did with Ahmed last weekend, and then maybe I can play some more this week.

Jeph Shepard: - Liara and Brooks colluded to track that sweet pistol that was my new favorite. Tracked it to Elijah Khan, a casino owner who just happened to be throwing a charity ball that night. He had supplied those weapons to my hidden enemy. Kaidan, Brooks and I cleaned ourselves up so that the first two human Spectres could make an appearance at the ball while Brooks did her techy stuff and crawled through the walls to access Khan's safe room. But we all looked great. - Meanwhile, Kaidan and I mingled. I know people talk about my dancing, but at least I have a partner who matches my skill. Unless he's purposely dancing badly so I don't look worse. Could that be a thing? - Once Brooks had disabled the security devices, Kaidan and I were able to slip past the guards to Khan's safe room. He was there but dead and his terminal had been wiped - but not the comms, which I used to call the last person Khan had spoken to. It was my unseen enemy. He made some lame threats and I told him he needed to try harder. Then we grabbed the drives that had been wiped since EDI might be able to extract something from them.

I attempted the Mirror Match in the Armax Arena on Insanity a few times. I never once made it past the first wave Try the almighty Venom for Shep (Adas works too, think done with all-Adas setup at some point), slap Incendiary ammo, pick 2 Krogans (alternatively Krogan + Vega) but don't give them charge weapons - AI's dumb, hope they don't get stuck, and keep on moving yourself. the key is constant crowd control, stagger the crap out of them and keep funnelling spawns via kiting. Being adept (mighty boom-booms) helps but even if not still consider Reave as a bonus for DR. Sorry for the slight offtopic

Well today Tracy Shepard returned to the Citadel after rescuing Liara and she mainly found herself doing favors for a few people on the citadel. Will probably head to Feros tomorrow.

Still devastated about the events on Tuchanka, Ahmed Shepard needed an outlet and Admiral Hacket gave him one. The Alliance had identified a Cerberus fighter base on Noveria and asked Ahmed to go take it over for the Alliance. So Ahmed grabbed his gun, EDI, and Liara, and took over the base. All things considered, Cerberus resistance was minimal compared to other encounters with that terrorist organization.
Feeling a little better and remembering the modified Rachni on Tuchanka, Ahmed took a team to go investigate the Rachni rumors Wrex mentioned. At the base camp on Utukku, Ahmed met the leader of Aralakh Company, Urdnot Dagg. Dagg told him more about the Krogan scouts Wrex mentioned. Their camp was in shambles and there was no sign of the scouts.
Aralakh company and Ahmed split up, taking different routes into the caves below. They soon found out that the Rachni rumors were true, encountering several Rachni breeding pods with Reaper technology, Reaper ground troops, and even some modified Rachni. The Krogan scouts were all dead, but they had taken flamethrowers deep into the caves so the next teams would have help dealing with the Rachni.
Deep into the caves, they found the main nest with a Reaper-created Rachni breeder. The monster tried to convince Ahmed to let it live, but Ahmed refused. Ahmed made a difficult choice to kill the Rachni Queen several years ago, choosing to let this surrogate queen die was an easy choice to make. Urndot Dagg sacrificed himself so that Ahmed could escape. The remainder of Aralakh Company joined with Admiral Hackett's team.

Jeph Shepard: - Brooks and EDI analyzed the drives we took from Khan's terminal. They said "something something something" Citadel Archives. That was the destination. Decided to bring the whole squad with me, though Kaidan and James were taking point with me. We went in, fought some of these "CAT6" mercs (which stands for dishonorable discharge) and then confronted our enemy. Turned out to be a damn Cerberus clone that TIM had planned to use for spare parts. He had been abandoned and talked about replacing me. Stole my Normandy command codes but I wasn't through with him yet. Went on a chase through the archives. Then we got to see who had the real army backing him. - Archives themselves were amazing. Saw video from First Contact War where two turians are interrogating a human. Krogan Rebellions attack on Council (which then was only asari and salarian). C-Sec killing off some peaceful sentient mechs that were trying to appeal to the Council because they didn't want to be exterminated. Battle of the Citadel, with a mention for those with the proper clearance (like Spectres) that Sovereign was suspected of being a Reaper. Turians deploying the genophage, which reservations from the salarians and even some other turians. First Spectre commissioned. Asari discovering the Citadel and the keepers. Appointment of First Human Spectre - ME. (There are nine pics in here of Citadel Archives so feel free to pass on them.) - Was a little something off about Brooks. Despite her demeanor, and her apparent aversion to violence, she knew how to handle a weapon. Also, why was it always safe to talk to her but no one else? And why did her radio work when everyone else's was jammed? Just a little niggling in the back of my brain. Not sure what it means and don't have time to ponder it. - Then the ball dropped. We were trapped in an iridium vault and the clone made it clear the same was true of the others. Worse, Brooks was working for the clone, which explained a lot. The initial plan had been to kill me at Ryuusei but that failed. Then Liara tracing the pistol meant they had to eliminated Khan, which Brooks did which we were infiltrating the casino. Then EDI was able to track the clone to the Archives, and so the plan became trapping us all in here forever while the clone took my place - they had stolen my Spectre codes, Normandy command codes and now updated fingerprints to reflect him instead of me. I was so going to kill them both when I got out. - Kaidan and James were concerned by my lack of concern about being stuck in here. I was more hung up on how I sounded. No way my "I should go" sounded like that asshole. Anyway, I had realized something they hadn't, which was that Glyph wasn't trapped. I called it to me and it released all of us. That meant we had to hightail it to the Normandy before the clone escaped with my ship. - Once we were out, Joker showed up with a shuttle. I took Kaidan and Garrus as we headed to the Normandy to stop the takeoff. When we got there, Traynor had just been ejected, apparently fired by me. We told her it was a clone and asked if she had a way in. She mentioned the emergency exit hatch but it would require a mass effect field to open it for entrance. Kaidan didn't think he had the fine control for it but Traynor's 6000 credit toothbrush did the trick. Outstanding. - Then, the unthinkable! He was getting rid of my space hamster! I was going to kill that motherless piece of shit! - When we got to the shuttle bay, I saw the clone wearing my armor. Had the N7 logo but something important was missing, something that might be missed by someone who isn't an actual N7: the red stripe. That denotes the blood shed in the line of duty, both our own and those under our command. Anyone saw him in that outfit would seriously question what was wrong with him. We fought with guns, with biotics and with fists. In the end, we were both hanging off the edge of the shuttle bay. Kaidan and Garrus came for me but Brooks backed away. I knew right then that the clone had been played. It was awakened and molded into what she wanted him to be. Maybe it didn't have to be that way. Maybe it could be a second chance for him. I offered him my hand. He refused, letting go and plummeting to his death. Not on my conscience, though. Brooks was another story. She tried to escape, which I saw coming. So when she ran, I shot her in the back. Got exactly what she deserved. - Joker convinced me to have a party. I was down with it but did want to get some one-on-one with my crew and friends before that happened.

This thread continues to remain awesome. Here is my lame contribution, the end of what I did on the weekend:
Ahmed Shepard met with Aria at the rendevous point and together they went to Omega. Aria had procured a Cerberus cruiser and was going to use it to infiltrate the Cerberus fleet around Omega. Despite not being the greatest strategist, even Ahmed recognized the plan was not good, but he did not see many other options.
Aria's plan to destroy the blockage around the Omega relay worked, but then Petrovksy demonstrated Omega's improved outer defenses, which started to rip through Aria's fleet. Aria ordered everyone to evacuate, and they ejected their lifepods out into Omega.
Cerberus responded immediately to the breaches, but Ahmed and Aria cut a swatch through the resistance to the control room where they deactivated the defenses so her fleets could land. Their next stop was to a secret bunker. Along the way, they ran into a Turian named Nyreen Kandros, an old friend of Aria's. Together they made their way to the bunker.
Nyreen soon disappeared after reaching the bunker. Aria explained the next part of her plan: recruiting the only active gang left on Omega, the Talons, to help them fight Cerberus and retake Omega. Both Aria and Cerberus had pinpointed the Talon leader's location at about the same time. Ahmed and Aria got there first, only to discover that Nyreen was the Talon leader. It seemed that Nyreen had only met with Aria earlier to discover her plans for retaking Omega. It took some convincing, but Ahmed managed to convince Nyreen to have the Talons join Aria's group in retaking Omega.
Next step: find a way to deactivate the force fields throughout Omega. They plotted a route to the power plant through the mines. The route was guarded by Cerberus, and some Reaper-based monsters called Adjutants. They almost made it to the power plant when new force fields suddenly powered up all around them, trapping them in a circle.
Angry and refusing to surrender, Aria used her biotics to create a hole in the force field, letting Ahmed through. Ahmed ran to the power plant and was about to overload the reactor when Nyreen told him to try to reroute the power instead. Overloading the power would cut off life support from several civilian sectors and Nyreen wanted the civilians safe. Aria didn't care and wanted it shut down no matter what.
Ahmed tried to reroute the power to save the civilians, but it began to take too much time, and Aria and Nyreen were starting to get overwhelmed by Cerberus mechs. Ahmed felt like he had no choice and Overloaded the reactor. Nyreen was disappointed that he overloaded the reactor, but was glad that he at least tried to reroute the power first.
With the force fields down all over Omega, the citizens started to fight back against Cerberus. Amidst the chaos, Aria and Ahmed worked their way to Afterlife on one route, while Nyreen took another route. Nyreen eventually started to help as many civilians as she could, which hampered efforts to make it to Afterlife. Having ditched the plan, Nyreen went on to Afterlife herself. Ahmed and Aria arrived just in time to see her sacrifice herself to take out a group of Adjutants.
Ahmed was just disappointed that Nyreen wasted her life in a stupid suicidal move, but Aria was pushed over the edge and stormed Afterlife without thinking. Petrovsky took advantage of the situation and captured Aria, but Ahmed broke her free and they took out the remaining Cerberus troops in the room.
Petrovsky ordered Cerberus to surrender and he surrendered himself to Ahmed's custody, which was the last mistake he ever made. Aria started to choke him to death. Petrovsky begged for his life, but Ahmed didn't care. He only wanted Omega out of Cerberus's hands, and this was Aria's operation anyway. After Aria finished killing Petrovksy slowly, she kept her end of the bargain and gave Ahmed the troops and resources she promised.
Ahmed headed back to the Normandy. His next stop was the Citadel to meet with the Salarian councilor about Udina's potentially illegal activities.
