Meet Neva Shepard, my first Vanguard, Earthborn/War Hero, Insanity I had the idea for her almost a year ago and I'm super excited to finally play her. My first attempt to be a complete ass to the crew! Here's a first look... If she seems like she's a little bitchy, she is
A little bit about her background: Neva is an 'ice queen' (her name means Snow), someone who takes pride in her command, takes what she wants and will make life miserable for most of her crew. She only always got what she wanted by manipulating people, because that is the one thing she's really good at. She's bad at building natural relationships and she always thinks of herself first. She's proud she left her street life behind, proud of what she accomplished, and she knows she did it by herself and that she doesn't need anybody to get through life. She loves playing the hero and thus to make people look up to and admire her. She respects the chain of command and treats everyone above her right, especially Anderson since she kind of sees him as a father figure and role model. She will mostly be friendly/Paragon to people worthy of her respect, but at the same time she'll treat people who she feels are not worth her attention or time like dirt.
Plans for Setup & Powers: - Bonus talent is Neural Shock in Mass Effect 1. Since she has a very manipulative nature, this will be the first step so I can let her use Dominate from ME2 on. - I will use Shotguns and probably Pistols with Cryo Rounds/Ammo throughout all 3 games. - I will use Shockwave, Dominate and Charge throughout ME2 and 3. - No LI in ME1, probably running with Kaidan and Ashley due to Alliance/Military background Welcome, Neva Shepard! Never knew Neva was snow in Finnish.
I wish I had your mastery to just lay out the Plan for the full run like that, but I am playing it by ear from a more nebulous concept. I know he is the man, and he is dark.
Okay, to bring some sort of order to this chaos...
I started running my Second Shepard, creatively named Mark. Actually, he was the Third, because my OCD did not let me go with my accidentally created Engineer. I remade a Sentinel, because the plan is to play with Tali. He turned out very handsome, or so I thought till I saw his nose in the game. Boy, but that nose dominates the landscape! Well, what can you do. We, that's Mark, and Ashley and the Sacrificial Crew Member Alenko, and Mark's Nose are now past Eden Prime & Council meeting, and I have made every effort to be as low on the conversation wheel as I could be. The voicing is great for all those short, PO'd options. I did catch a couple of Paragon points in saying something too nice to Ahsley in hopes to eventually getting her out of her pants. That's the last time I am nice to her.
In the MP, I finally managed to get a bit of time for playing my MP Engineer for a couple of matches, and just as I thought I was doing so great, learning stuff, in the next zone I was totally lost and confused. It's like very time I play I get an unknown map/enemy. In some zones everything goes well, I keep up with people and shoot stuff in the face. I attribute it to a presence of someone who knows what's up, and we all happily following our "tank". Well, at least I do. I've started reading the guides, but so far I did not get one with a list of all the maps. I wonder if the scenarios are randomly generated on a set of maps.
EDIT: Forgot to add. The controls in ME1 ain't improved any since I've played it with my first character.

As soon as they arrived at Dr Michel's clinic, Karen Shepard, Ashley and Kaidan realized that the information provided by Harkin was good - C-Sec officer Garrus was indeed there. Unfortunately, so were a bunch of thugs working for local crimelord Fist, and one of them had taken Dr Michel hostage and was holding a gun to her head.
The entrance of the Alliance marines provided Garrus with the distraction he needed to take out the goon who had Dr Michel. Shepard thought it was a little reckless given the danger to the doctor, but no harm was done (well, except to Fist's goon). Garrus may have been a "damned hothead", in the words of Harkin, but he also seemed to be a damned good shot. The rest of Fist's men went down quickly thanks to a bit of tech damage from Kaidan, and a hail of assault rifle fire from Ashley and Shepard.
Talking to Garrus and Dr Michel revealed that there was a Quarian on the station who had information about Saren, who was double crossed by Fist when she went to him for help. Fist had been working for this "Shadow Broker" person that Anderson had mentioned, but had switched sides and was now helping Saren. They needed to take down Fist in order to save the Quarian and get whatever evidence she had. Shepard left Garrus to continue looking for any other leads; she would take Ashley and Kaidan to take care of Fist.
First, they went to speak to Barla Von. Since the Shadow Broker was mixed up in this business after all, Shepard wanted as much intel as she could get. The Volus described the Shadow Broker's operation, and mentioned that a Krogan bounty hunter named Wrex had been hired. He was currently detained at C-Sec headquarters, probably for threatening Fist at Chora's Den.
Before heading to C-Sec to investigate, Shepard stopped by the embassies to give Xeltan the proof that the Consort wasn't the one who was spreading his secrets around. The team then went to see what sort of trouble Wrex had gotten himself into.

Adept Shepard on insanity (spoilers for the Omega DLC)...
So Shepard promised to help Aria retake Omega about a month ago and she's patiently waiting for him to give the signal to start the attack. Shepard should be helping the Krogan with a cure to save the Turians but they can wait a few more weeks . Shepard's mind is on seeking revenge for the Grissom Academy attack.
Shepard caught up with Aria's fleet and they equipped their lv 1 guns and begun their attack. They crashed onto Omega and spammed their flare biotics all over the place. The Cerberus force didn't stand a chance. They took out Omega's defences and spoke with a female Turian. Shepard found it refreshing to encounter a goody two shoes character, on Omega of all places. They managed to set up a base of operation and Shepard saved as many Talons/hacked as many consoles as possible. Aria gave a speech to rally the citizens and she managed to glide from one position to another like a bug .
Shepard then needed to shut down a force field so he had to stumble through the dark and some adjutants. This section is one of the best parts of the DLC, very atmospheric and creepy. Aria and Nyreen were in a tight spot and Shepard had to make the hard decision of taking down the force field at the expense of civilian lives. He tried to explain his actions to Nyreen but he was probably trying to convince himself that it was for the greater good. This action alone caused some facial scarring to flare up as well so he may have to go under the knife in the med-bay to clear that up.
Nyreen ended up staying true to her beliefs to the very end as she sacrificed herself to protect innocent lives. Shepard admired this about her and will always remember the female Turian he encountered on this day. Aria wanted to choke out Petrovsky but Shepard prevented her because he sees the value of a potential asset. Aria was left confused by the mixed signals that Shepard had given her throughout the mission. Shepard likes the fact that Aria can't read him because one day he may return as an enemy of hers.
Back on the Normandy, Liara said she had a project that they need to discuss. Shepard decided it would be best to focus on the Genophage cure instead.
I actually like the Omega DLC. The combat had challenging areas, the atmosphere of the DLC was spot on and I like the fact that NPCs react to the dialogue that you choose (Aria commenting when you choose both paragon and renegade responses).
I didn't die once either which was a surprise given that it's been a month since the last time I've played .

I forgot to mention that I saw the Space Station pass overhead last week. It was only visible for about 20 seconds, but I got to see it. It reminds of me of last year, when I was doing a ME:T run and I saw that comet that was fairly close to Earth for a few months. --Completed Grunt's loyalty mission. I got off a single shot with the Cain, then used biotics to tear the wyrm to shreds. I took Jack with me. Her biotics came in handy with the dogs and the bugs. Plus, in my mind I pictured her adding "Helped take down a thresher maw on foot," to her list of things to motivate her students in ME3. --Completed Mordin's mission, and took Tali with me. So far, she's been my favorite to take with for that quest. Not a lot of the squadmates have a lot of comments. Samara had a grand total of one when I took her with Nat. Tali was commenting about the hospital and a few other areas. Taking her with me for the "sick quarian with a tummy ache," was worth it. "I'm standing right here!" Ah, but what's the point of having a best friend if you can't give them grief every now and then. I'm currently debating about waiting for Legion to do Tali's mission, doing Tali's mission right away, or wait and do LotSB. The weapons upgrades are sounding mighty fine right now. Legion is a perfect match for Tali on her mission and vice versa. The dual AI hacking against a lot of geth makes the mission a breeze. That and of course the reaction of bringing an actual live and active geth onto the Flotilla during Tali's trail never gets old. As usual, Arrival will be the last DLC I do prior to getting the Reaper IFF. It makes sense to me on a story level. Shep's been taking care of his squadmates and is wrapping everything up before going to a derelict Reaper. Call it paranoia. After Arrival, the sense of urgency in my Sheps increases and I head out to get the IFF.

I feel like I'm writing fanfic (since I change dialogues and character reactions that I feel ought to go that way in the game) rather than reporting activities in ME so I'm going to stop. I'll continue to read you guys' updates though. Keep it up. Awww. I like that style. We know what happens in the game but you need to tell us what is happening in your head. **Tip! Talk to Miranda immediately after recruiting Mordin to get the Advanced Mineral Scanner earlier! (Also: Talk to Jacob immediately after recruiting Mordin to get the ship armor upgrade. Talk to all squadmates immediately after recruiting them to get their unique upgrades. The exception is Legion if you activate him immediately after the Derelict Reaper mission and no other loyalty missions remain.) I don't remember when I figured it out*: you get the upgrades automatically by doing the loyalty mission but can get them sooner by talking to the various squaddies and asking if they have any ideas for improvements, etc. And yes, the mineral scanner is noticeably faster with the upgrade on PC. I didn't know there was also a bug fix though, but I do remember thinking, "Wow, when did this thing get faster? Am I imagining things?" Apparently not.
*Ah yes, it was the game where I didn't talk to anyone other than to get their loyalty missions.
I've started reading the guides, but so far I did not get one with a list of all the maps. I wonder if the scenarios are randomly generated on a set of maps. If you are hosting the match, you can pick "random" for map and enemy, or select specific ones. If you are in a lobby, you should be able to see what the settings are before the match starts but if you just get dumped in, there's no way to know until you're there. I've been dumped into Gold matches plenty of times when I was looking for Bronze or Silver, so even if you've picked what you prefer, that's no guarantee you're gonna get there unless you host.
I'm sure you've noticed the MP maps mimic SP locations though they are tweaked a bit (doors in different locations, etc). For practice you could either replay the SP missions or, even better, create private matches to familiarize yourself with the layouts without having to worry about doing anything in the match.

I feel like it belong to "what should have taken place" or fanfic thread. Basically, just kit up first before looking for a match. I myself don't much like spending 10 plus minutes sitting in the lobby waiting for people to decide what they want and what to kit. I'm usually playing a class I know will do well against all comers. For gold match, it's either the TSol or the AA. For platinum, I tend to go in on my Jug.

My mom used to call doing laundry "the never ending battle." It's just me and the Sasquatch and I still find myself doing laundry a lot. So you know what that means...
More ME2!
--I got a bad case of ADD and started to scan planets. I hadn't been doing it as much this time around, just enough to keep me in upgrades. Since I had the AMS, I figured I'd get that going. Two and a half hours later, I had finished all but 3 systems. My screen was so badly cluttered on the galaxy map that I decided to do all of that early. I found myself being more careful and more selective with who went with me.
--Hit up Illum and grabbed the last two upgrades there. I finished Liara's little FedEx hacking quest and now I'm going to start LotSB. I'm going to take Tali and Garrus for the first part. Garrus has got Overload and Squad Armor-Piercing ammo going, and Tali's little drone is actually a reasonable sized help.
--I've decided to take Legion with me again to Tali's trail. They completely rip apart any geth/mech in their path.

Vance Shepard (cont'd)
Mission Log: Herschel System, Kepler Verge - At Garrus' request, we boarded the ship Fidele and confronted a Dr. Heart (formerly Dr. Saleon) about his practice of growing replacement organs inside the bodies of his employees. We encountered several of those employees, reduced to husks, shortly after boarding the vessel. Garrus had spent some time investigating Dr. Saleon while with C-Sec and made a positive identification of Dr. Saleon. Unfortunately, during the interrogation, Dr. Saleon attempted to escape and it was necessary for Garrus to shoot him.
Personal Log: I think Garrus really appreciated my allowing him to just shoot Dr. Saleon rather than taking a chance on C-Sec allowing him to escape a second time.
Mission Log: Ontarom - Yet another detour to investigate something for the Alliance. This time Hackett wanted me to track down a person killing former Alliance scientists, all who had worked on a "classified project" on Akuze a few years back. According to Corporal Toombs (the individual killing the scientists), a thresher maw attack on a group of Alliance marines was orchestrated by these said scientists to study the effects of thresher maw acid on humans. He was the only survivor of the thresher maw attack and the scientists locked him up and studied him for the past 9 years. He identified them as Cerberus scientists, leaving me to wonder what sort of connection there might still be between the Alliance and Cerberus since Hackett all but admitted that the scientists were working on a "classified project" for the Alliance. In the end, I felt that Toombs' actions were justified and shot the last remaining scientist, a Dr. Wayne, myself.
Mission Log: Tuntau - Tracked down Ton Actus, who had stolen a bit of armor from Wrex's family some years ago. Finding it has allowed Wrex to fulfill a family promise.
Personal Log: Wrex says he might be just starting to like me. I think I'm a little unsettled at the thought of that... hopefully Krogan aren't mono-gendered and prone to interspecies crushes like the Asari.
Mission Log: Eletania - Hackett contacted us again (sigh - yet another detour). His request this time was to recover some sort of lost data module. Upon finding the probe, we discovered that the module had been taken by a species of space monkeys. We set about catching and searching several monkeys before finding the one with the module on it. While in the mine where that monkey was found, we were attacked by a group of geth, probably also looking for the module.
Personal Log: I must be getting stressed out over Hackett continually interrupting my pursuit of Saren to do this and that little favor for the Alliance... because, after leaving the mine on Eletania, I just had to shoot a few monkeys for the heck of it. Wrex seemed impressed with my aim... gah, I really hope he's got a girl Krogan back home on Tuchanka. I think I'll sleep with my pistol under the pillow tonight just in case. At least Garrus hasn't come onto me yet, but I'm starting to wonder why he keeps thanking me over and over again.
(NOTE to Gourmetrix on the P/R project. The 9th and 10th Charm point slots did not unlock right at 81.0 points (which is what is specified in the Wiki. I had exactly 81 paragon points after Ontarom, but the unlock did not occur until after I did Eletania (which added 6 paragon). I suspect there is a rounding... i.e. that 81.0 is maybe something like 81.04. At any rate, if you're adjusting the Wiki, I think the part points shown should be rounded up to the next highest whole point and the ones shown as 81.0 should be rounded up to 82. I will be starting Noveria and Feros next... I should have an answer about BDTS soon.)

Same place for me atm, just had to log off when the timered mission kicking in for finding that mysterious Quaran. I've unceremoniously dumped Kaidan and Ashley for Garrus and Wrex, though.
I think, I also managed a renegade point or two, v.edgy.
Oh, that's a great idea. I think I might try that for a London location because it is a bit convoluted.
I always go through everything before I queue up, and I exit lobby after each match to buy more Recruit packs (wee, presents!) and re-equip/level up etc.
I am pretty sure all my matches were Bronze, even though the only thing I restrict is the difficulty level. Basically, I love it that I get an instant pop, and I don't mind dropping in during Wave 5 or something. I am only playing with one class at the moment, my Engineer. I really like the probes, so frankly what I want the most are the unlocks for the Engineers in different species. However, once I hit Level 20, I will try an Adept as well, and then chose which one to promote.
Oh, and there is one animation that is just wicked, I think it is on a Sentinel, with a lightening whip. OMG, I hope they use it in the main game, because now I see why people in SWTOR were clamoring for it.
I really, really love the format! My limited knowledge of the game types makes me think that this MP mode is kind of bioWARE's take on MOBAs, just like the MET is BioWARE's take on FPS. Fingers crossed I get lucky and unlock an alien class that I really want (so far I just got a Krogan warlord).
Natashina : That laundry is just epic!
Ah, I know the feeling! but, to be honest, the modular nature of the side-quests is pretty good in the Trilogy.

I'm playing it up from a role playing perspective... Since, in this playthrough, I'm anticipating the Paragon alignment quest only unlocking after we steal the Normandy, my Shepard is likely going to be telling Hackett off and refusing the quest because he really needs to get to Ilos at that point in the game. Since he's definitely a renegade who still likes to keep as many people alive as he can, the impact of refusing that quest is going to weigh heavily on his shoulders...

According to the Wiki, the full bar is 324 points before BDtS and 340 afterward, but on the PC it always 330. So the 25% milestone for you should require exactly 81 points; for me it requires 82.5 => 83 points. If you hadn't yet landed on Asteroid X57 before Ontarom, then your Xbox is not using 324 as the full bar. Interesting! Thanks again for being so diligent with this. FYI I said "most" because the 80%/90% distinction on the Wiki for getting both morality quests was replaced on the PC with a fixed 275 points required for each, which comes out to 83.33%.

I should have an answer about BDTS soon.) Most of the P/R requirements are based on percentages against the full bar. Yeah, I understand how the numbers were derived, I just think that, since we don't actually collect part points in the game, they should be rounded up to the next whole number in the Wiki. I did go back to a slightly earlier save and tested the Intimidate unlock (by not selecting the 2 point renegade option when Hackett gives you Rogue VI). Since I was at 83 points when I had selected that Renegade option and the Intimidate unlocked, going back and just not selecting it gave me 81 Renegade exactly at that point... and it did not unlock. So, I can't say whether or not the 9th/10th unlock on the Xbox is at 82.5, but I can say it's definitely not at 81.0... and it's not because I made a mistake and just missed a Paragon selection somewhere along the way. Will keep going to see what happens at the next unlock point (renegade quest). I'm not doing BDtS until the very end... just before Virmire. According to the Wiki, if BDtS is in effect, the Intimidate one should not have unlocked at 83, but rather should have been locked until the Renegade reached 85.0.

Conrad would also be the kind of creep to name all of his kids after Shepard. Sheppy, Shepard Jr, Shepard the 3rd. At least he doesn't take armor from dead bodies and then display that armor like its some kind of prize or trophy

(Wave) Hail, the play-through-mate! Same place for me atm, just had to log off when the timered mission kicking in for finding that mysterious Quaran. I've unceremoniously dumped Kaidan and Ashley for Garrus and Wrex, though.
I think, I also managed a renegade point or two, v.edgy. (Waves back) I like to use the same squadmates for as much of the game as possible (or the trilogy, for ones that return in ME2 and/or ME3), so I usually stick with Ashley and Kaidan until I recruit the ones I'm going to use most. For this playthrough it'll be Liara and Tali. In ME2, Tali and Samara, and in ME3 Liara and Tali again ("just like old times"). Eventually, I hope to try all of the possible combinations. It'll take a lot of playthroughs, though, especially given the size of the cast in ME2.

Karen Shepard stopped in at the Consort's to let her know the results of the conversation with General Septimus. Sha'ira seemed pleased that the drama with Septimus and Xeltan had been resolved, and rewarded the commander with some credits, a mysterious trinket, and a "gift of words" to give Shepard "strength in battles to come." Shepard thought the talk of her "future greatness" was a bit over the top, but thanked Sha'ira for her kindness. The team then headed over to C-Sec headquarters, and found that Wrex, the Krogan bounty hunter, had indeed gotten himself into trouble for threatening Fist. Not that Wrex seemed too concerned about the prospect of being arrested. Wrex offered his assistance, and Shepard was happy to have him join the growing band of allies they were gathering to take on Saren. It was good to have a Krogan battlemaster on their side. Shepard, Ashley and Kaidan arrived at Chora's Den and found the place closed up - Fist knew they were coming. A firefight with some surprisingly resilient bartenders in shirtsleeves (gotta love Insanity difficulty ) and a Krogan bodyguard ensued, but they were defeated, leaving two warehouse workers as Fist's last line of defense. They decided they "never liked Fist anyway", and were easily convinced to seek other employment. Fist's office was equipped two defense turrets on either side of the desk (that must have been expensive), but Kaidan's Overload minimized the threat they posed. Soon, Fist was lying on the begging for his life. He revealed the location of the meeting he had set up with Quarian, and promised to "disappear" now that his operation was finished and the Shadow Broker would be hunting him down. Shepard didn't really care about some two-bit crime-lord, so she told him to get lost. On the way out she noticed an optical disk with some files about Fist's operation; it looked like the kind of thing that might help Emily Wong with her investigation into corruption on the Citadel, so she grabbed it. After battling past a few more of Fist's men - who evidently hadn't got the memo that their boss had retired - they arrived at the meeting between the Quarian and Saren's men. The Quarian quickly realized she'd been sent into a trap, and helped Shepard defeat Saren's assassins. Afterwards, they all headed to the embassy so that the Quarian, named Tali, could provide her evidence to Udina. Tali's had a voice recording that proved Saren had attacked Eden Prime. The Spectre and a women, whose identity was unknown, also referred to an alien race known as Reapers. Shepard realized that the Reapers were what she had seen in the vision from the beacon on Eden Prime - the mystery of the sudden disappearance of the Protheans 50,000 years earlier was solved. Udina was skeptical about the Reapers, but insisted that the recording of Saren be presented to the Council as soon as possible. Tali asked to join up to help with the fight against Saren. She had been on a Quarian right of passage known as the Pilgrimage when she retrieved the data recording from the Geth, but she was willing to set it aside given the threat posed by both Saren and his Geth allies. Given the history between the Quarians and the Geth, Shepard felt Tali would be a valuable source of information, and she liked the way Tali handled herself, both in the firefight and at the embassy. She could see herself and the Quarian becoming good friends. Shepard, Tali and Kaidan set out for the Citadel Tower, hoping that the Councilors would finally see Saren for what he was.

File#01 Subject: Eden Prime Mission Report - Was sent to investigate a Prothean beacon on colonial world Eden Prime by Captain David Anderson with Lieutenant Kaidan Alenko and Corporal Richard Jenkins. Corporal Jenkins was attacked by drones and died as a result. - Encountered Gunnery Chief Ashley Williams further in, only survivor of the 212 unit. The rest of the unit was killed by geth. - Williams led us to the Prothean dig site, but the beacon had been moved. Encountered some colonists in the same area that came back to life after having been spiked by what looked like some sort of geth devices. - Received reports from eyewitness that turian Spectre Nihlus Kryik was killed by another turian called Saren. - Took the cargo train and defused several bombs in the geth-populated starport area. - Located the beacon. Lieutenant Alenko approached the beacon and was drawn to it. I was able to hurl him out of harm's way, but then was trapped by the beacon myself. Received a vision, but it's uncertain what exactly happened, except that the beacon was rendered useless afterwards. More screens: Of course, I died once by a geth sniper during the bomb section I came to the conclusion to play more and take less screenshots. Let's see how I'll manage

FYI I said "most" because the 80%/90% distinction on the Wiki for getting both morality quests was replaced on the PC with a fixed 275 points required for each, which comes out to 83.33%. Hi (quoting you a second time here to get your attention). I finished Feros last night with 261 Renegade and UNC: The Negotiation did not unlock... so 80% of 324 is definitely NOT what the Xbox edition uses currently. I then redid the end only of the Feros mission, killing Shiala, which brought my Renegade total to 270. The mission still did not unlock, so 80% of 330 is also not what is being used. I am currently redoing all of the Feros mission to bring my Renegade total to 276 when done that mission; and I'll let you know if the mission unlocks then. If it does, it will be pretty much a certainty that the Xbox versions also changed to reflect a flat 275 points for unlocking the allignment missions. I still won't know for sure about the Paragon one unlocking at 275 thought until after I do BDts. @anyone who might be following Vance's story - I pretty much have to wait until I finish with "adjusting" my Feros choices to suit this P/R experiment before getting back to writing his logs and continuing with the role play perspective. Sorry for the delay. ETA: Well, now I'm stumped. Redid Feros and changed enough Paragon responses to Renegade ones that my Renegade point count at the end of Feros is 276. However, the Renegade morality quest is still not unlocking. I've also visited three different systems since doing Feros and collected minerals, insignias and such... exiting the Galaxy Map completely between changing systems. Is there an additional requirement to actually do a mission after the one that hits the "unlock" amount? (That's about the only thing I haven't tried yet.) I'm as positive as humanly possible that the point count of 276 is accurate.

Today was an important day for my Shepard. He'd finally became the Keeper of Peace in the galaxy, anointed by the Counsel to venture forth as a mighty Jedi Senti--- erm, a Specter, I mean a Specter of course. Ah, I am so used to being a Specter, a rogue Specter or a reinstated Specter, that it was odd not being one for those first couple hours of the game. I finally have two bars in renegadeness, and the first pay-back. That quest with the woman's body to be released to her husband, that took forever to get the 'blue' option to appear... well, the red one was right there. And omg, the Shepard went mental.
And, OMG, I am getting 4 days off, hopefully that means time & energy to MP a little!

Because the paragon option is either to politely ask for the body back, or you can convince Bhatia that the tests are for the greater good.

I've decided to do a different sort of playthrough this time. I'm going to make use of the inventory system as a Soldier, and use every weapon that I find. For example, say I'm using a Tsunami V assault rifle, if I find a Lancer IV, I will turn the Tsunami to omni-gel and use the Lancer, even though it's much worse. I will do this for every weapon type, and maybe even grenade upgrades as well.
Also, I'm going to be making the game more immersive, by using my surround sound speakers on my TV, and controlling the volume of music at different moments. For example, on an uncharted world with a vacuum, I'm going to turn off all the sound effects so it it would be just like it is for Shepard.
Did Eden Prime yesterday, and am currently doing the Citadel missions. I talked to Barla Von, Harkin, found Garrus at the med clinic, and raided Chora's Den (got killed by the Krogan bouncer twice - I only remember dying here on Insanity, but never on Hardcore) I'm going to find Tali tomorrow.

I finished ME2 and I've started ME3, but might as well do part 1 of my observations: --I did Overlord again. I took Zaeed and Tali for the first part, then Garrus and Tali for the rest. Looking at it, it's probably got one of the better final boss fights in recent BioWare history. The story is very compelling and the area has some nice scenery and a little room for exploration. The boss fight is a lot of fun and rather tense. The adds that can show up at higher difficulty and the VI links keep the player on their toes. My absolute favorite part of that fight is when the VI core closes after doing damage and you get some dialogue. Hearing the audio from when David first merged with the geth added to the drama and tension of that fight. It was almost chilling hearing different parts of it during the fight. Of course Alex took the Paragon option. He saw it as nothing but barbaric torture and would definitely be the type to pistol whip a guy in the name of Justice and Goodness. --I followed that up with Arrival. I don't usually go for trophies in games, but I went after only one I didn't get last time. The goal was to dodge patrols and get the Doc out without being spotted. That was fun. The elevator tried to bug out in the reactor core. Shep wasn't completely on the elevator and fell. Thankfully, that was a short drop. Anyway, took the Renegade option to talk back to Harby. I love telling Harby to shove it. --Then I went and got that Reaper IFF. Fun fight, and it was nice to see my crowd control at work. It was Team Dextro again, since I enjoy Tali's comments and we needed a heavy hitter. I activated Legion, got jealous at his Widow (no Widows for biotics) and chatted for a bit. It's such a shame that he comes into the game so late. If you use Gibbed to get him in sooner, well first uncheck the flag before the IFF mission. Otherwise, he has comments on most of the major missions in the game just like the rest of the squad does. I know the game was on two discs originally, but having Legion come in so late with the damned invisible quest timer made no sense. --Did the SM again and kept the same set up as last time. Jacob on the Fire Teams, Legion in the Vents, Zaeed and Miranda for the first push. Jack was on the biotic bubble and I took Samara and Garrus with me. The biotic combos were very handy. I also took Tali and Miranda again to meet the Reaper-Larva. I only managed to get one shot of the Cain off of it, then proceeded to use biotics to rip it a new one. Miranda came in really handy. Naturally I had Shep blow up the base. I know it doesn't matter much in the long run, except for some extra war assets. It was the principle of the matter. That bastard didn't deserve it. Miranda's resignation speech added nicely to it. Alex treated TIM like he had the Council a couple of times. He hung up on him. --After playing Paragade for two games so far, I don't see a lot of difference between the two alignments in many cases. The main thing I noticed was that Renegade was more aggressive. The word "ass" came out of his mouth several times and yelled a lot. So, part of being a "Badass" Shepard (their words, not mine) is having a bit of a mouth? Which is incredibly tame by a M-rated game's standards. Right. Because that makes total sense. ME3 is up next! So far, I've been able to keep him Paragade. Alas, I don't know if I can keep that balance up. This is where Renegade Shep goes from caustic and cold to outright psychotic at times. I'm going to give it my best shot. He's still going to be a jerk with a heart of gold. Next time I turn on the game, I'll share you guys his face code. I like the way he looks. I did change the eye color from grey to light blue. The eyes almost looked white in cutscenes when I first tried it, so they became blue. Stats: Alexander Samuel Shepard Age: 34 Eyes: Now light blue Skin: Tanned Hair: Flattop, black Class: Adept, Bastian specialization Preferred Weapon Style: SMG Preferred Abilities: Warp, Singularity Alignment: Paragade, heavy on the paragon Romance: Still loyal to Ash Best Friend: Tali Preferred Ship Model: Sovereign. Face Code: 521.1BB.8EC.645.IDN.F5D.1WA.68N.IJ6.HF6.626.7 If you google for ME face code converter, you can take that and use it for ME1/ME2 as well. It might take some very minor tweaking, but it does make sure you have the same face for all three games without using face morphs. That's how I've made some of my Sheps over the years.
