So there's news of a B5 reboot, JMS said there's a secret project coming out next year with the original cast. I'm thinking ; documentary.
I'm not that keen for a reboot. The original cast is irreplaceable. JMS will definitely rewrite some stuff to fit in with present day stuff; I'm rather afraid of this. What is he going to rewrite and put in? Is he going to follow the example of other old and fav franchises that were destroyed like Star Wars, Star Trek, Dr Who, LOTR, etc?

I am REALLY wary of reboots, or even adaptations of previous works. After Star Wars, the WHeel of TIme, etc. I say "no thanks" and assume it's going to be an inferior cash grab unless news to the contrary comes out.

The (proposed) reboot is a completely separate thing that's currently in a holding pattern due to the WGA strike and may or may not move forward afterwards. The animated movie is in the existing continuity, and we might get more of them if this one does well!

New info on the new movie, which will be calle "The Road Home": Summary: - The picture makes it look like it's going to be decent 3d animation (which could be cool IMO). - Voice cast includes most of the remaining actors plus new additions that take over the roles of cahracters, the actors of which passed away. Over all it seems that most of the imortant characters from the series will be back. - Seems to be a time/reality traveling story with Sheridan as protagonist. All in all it sounds pretty promising to me |

Peter Jurasik reprised his role of Londo in some messages to some YTubers' reactions (a couple are ST fans) who are watching Babylon 5 (and loving it) at present. Their hypothesis, opinions and views are interesting. It's great to relive the journey with them.
It's great he responded to their positive feedback and reactions. 👍
One of them, a British YTuber, has finished the series. Her hypothesis is pretty spot on and her opinions are practical. Sleeping in Light brought out the tears. The last episode always does in most B5 fans.

My last rewatch I noticed a scene that had a lot more behind it than I'd previously realized. Particularly when I remembered Vir's future. Three Emperors, juxtaposed by time, with three different reactions to G'Kar's whipping. Their reactions also seem to echo the sentiments of the Centauri people during their respective reigns. Cartagia in bacchanal delight, Londo in mute horror but unable to look away, and Vir, the poor sod that has to clean it all up.

The actor who took over Richard Biggs "Franklin" was almost a dead ringer for his voice. Took a line or few to catch the differences. Alas, Andreas Katsulas, Mira Furlan, and Tim Choate, remain inimitable. Was a bit sad Marcus was a new voice too. I'd kinda hoped Jason Carter could reprise his role. Marcus was my favourite when the series was airing by a long shot. Hell, my current haircut is almost a match for his, end of the year and it'll be just as long if not longer. (And roughly the same style.)

In terms of the story I almost need to rewatch it. I was so engrossed in the nostalgia, characters, ships, etc, that I was just along for the ride. I liked that JMS didn't just go, "MULTIVERSE CARD" and then move on from there. It had some substance and setup. I'd not really put together how well the events of B5 would lend itself to the concept. The Great Machine, B², the One(s), heck even Thirdspace. It actually kinda works. *** Insofar as I know, the reboot's on hold pending the fallout from all this WGA strike stuff. But the exec that had the beef with JMS isn't around anymore.
