Retaliation added challenges. The scroll bar on the title screen shows accomplishments and challenges your friends did. The game loads your whole friends list and their challenges to display the info for that ticker. When offline, that ticker doesn't load. When going online by pressing MP, that ticker doesn't load as it kicks right into MP. Some data being parsed crashes the game which is why going offline works as it never reads. Eventually the server data is updated and works again. Just got this bug myself last Saturday or late Friday. Didn't know what it was at first, tried Origin Repair, Origin reinstall, windows rollback, and was almost about to reinstall windows before deciding to google title screen crash. Then it hit me, the Retaliation glitch, of course. It was a good run avoiding this bug for about 3000 hours across various platforms. If what MGamerz here says is true (which seems legit), then think docsteely have me this bug (no hard feelings) since he's the only one in title screen feed these days. Instead of removing him briefly from FL, thinking if docsteely can recall what challenges he completed late Friday and Saturday, and that if he gets them done again... Sorry, Sinful, I DO NOT HAVE the glitch on PC. So the removal option is the best you have atm. |

I had it for the last several months and it finally fixed itself. Couldn't seem to get the offline start trick to work and someone here had also suggested returning from the in-game store while in a lobby, but never had any luck with that either. Wasn't worth much more of my time to fix it, since it's only a superficial issue, but it's still good to see the banner back again before starting a game. I remember someone posting a pic with all 4 players glitched, but my best was 3 out of 4. |

Here is a file users with the issue can use to log all functions calls that are routed through Unreal Engine 3's ProcessEvent() handler. Note this is not all function calls so it might not be what we need but it covers 98% of them. drive.google.com/open?id=133V5Li8P9O_tugXllaJ5Lo9WujPzjPjoYou take this file and drop it onto Mod Manager's interface and install it. DO NOT INSTALL THIS IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE RETALIATION GLITCH. This will use significant amounts of Disk I/O and the game will likely run slower as a result. Boot the game with this ASI installed and then trigger the glitch - when the application crashes. Inside of your Mass Effect 3/binaries/win32 folder there should now be a file called FunctionCallLog.txt. I do not have retaliation glitch, but getting to usable main menu is about 8MB of text. Please upload this an share it with me so I can see what the last function calls were before the engine died. I may be able to write an ASI that simply ignores the ProcessEvent() for the failing call. You can uninstall this by going to Mod Manager > ASI Mod Manager and then finding FunctionLogger.asi at the bottom and clicking "Manually Installed" and then clicking Uninstall. |

I think I have a fix as it fixed it for one user (haven't tested others). Please make sure your remove any other ASIs I had you install. drive.google.com/file/d/1Zb_VSgM1O6qZTBCRfM18Sjoms9tzravS/view?usp=sharingDrop this file onto Mass Effect 3 Mod Manager and install it and try it. This hopefully will fix the crash for you. The only side effect is the friends leaderboard doesn't work. But honestly who cares about that? |

I went for years without getting it, then got hit with it 3 or 4 times in about a year.
