How the fug do you use this thing? What does the charge up dynamic do? One wave I can hit what I want the next wave I can't hit the broad side of a barn. I was using it as a stasis or sabotage sniper as I need a stationary target being a crappy sniper and all. What ammo should I put on it? Does one have to be a 4 eyed Batarian to use it?

it has a 3x headshot multiplier, ignores shield gate and doesn't have a hip fire penalty. Use it on any kit you like especially with stun powers to help compensate for the learning curve. I typically prefer disruptor or incendiary ammo on it for consistent tech combos as well. As with any projectile weapon, it suffers off host. Charging the bolt makes aiming much easier as well and increases the damage as expected. I would start off with something like the salarian infiltrator.

The thing is that last night i was finding that when I did charge it up on a stationary target I was missing totally, as opposed to quick triggering in which I was getting more head shots. The off host bit might be a problem then. I heard at one time that the projectile atually arcs the further the shot, is that right or was that an old wives tale?

The Kishock does 175% of its normal damage when charged. It also only does 60% of its damage on impact and the other 40% are bleed damage. It can also penetrate a Guardian shield. Like heroicmass already mentioned the weapon is a projectile weapon and therefore works best when you are the hosting player. The weapon is extremely fun to use in my opinion as it knocks back weaker enemies. Releasing a charged shot does not break Tactical Cloak and TC obviously gives a huge damage bonus, so Infiltrators are my recommended class for this weapon.

I heard at one time that the projectile atually arcs the further the shot, is that right or was that an old wives tale? That is true according to the Mass Effect wiki page. It states: "The projectile will suffer from the effects of gravity when fired. Charging the shot will decrease the effect, with no visible drop being produced when fired fully-charged."

Kishock is really good with the merc if you want to use the bow as an auto aim. Incendiary is the best ammo for it IMO.

You need to know two things about the Kishock:
1. It's the best thing since bubble gum. 2. No bastard with a Kishock means to take you alive.
Other than that, read the player notes on it at the Mass Effect wiki and go have fun space whaling. I love it on the Slasher, Hunter Engineer, SalEngie, BatSent and several others.

EDIT: here it is a prime case for a l2read, failed to see that Stasis is mentioned in the original post. sigh. nvm. still a shameless plug for the Vanilla AA who is a very proficient whaler, the Kishock synergises really well with her offensive powers (and AA mods)

I like SI with disruptor because I'm not a great sniper, so having them jittering after the first shot gives me another chance. It's a thing of beauty against phantoms. It's also not bad on the human infiltrator because no hipfire penalty means your stickies aren't gimped. Just don't use it in hard cover.

There's only one thing you need to know about it also don't go into hard cover while you're scoped or your aim will mess up until you leave cover I guess that's two things

It also synergizes very well with Cryo Blast and Incendiary Ammo Sticky Grenades on the Vanilla Human Infiltrator. Definitely a reason to play that kit from time to time...I use it predominantly with the Kishock

It's all been covered already, but as it's my favourite and most-used SR in the game (despite rarely hosting) I just wanted to add my voice of support for using it, emphasizing the no-hipfire penalty. The gun was clearly made for the BatSent, although the HI and QFI could make a claim for it as well, working as it does with Stickies. The fact that it makes Phantoms go BOINNNG should be enough, but it's also pretty epic as a 'walking backwards' gun, if that makes sense, as not needing to scope helps with not losing your bearings, and aiming off-host becomes easier, if a little slower, but is particularly effective against Brutes and Banshees. It's the only gun I've ever used Explosive ammo on, as it does actually work usefully in combination with the DoT, although Incendiary or Disruptor are obviously more powerful. Cryo ammo Vorcha Hunter is also great fun.

I'm a terrible sniper. I'm awful at headshots, but I LOVE the kishok.
If you're having trouble landing fully charged headshots at long range, my advice is don't bother.
I use it for rapid fire maiming and mayhem. It staggers almost anything. Put one in the torso and finish 'em with a power. (Hard to dodge with a harpoon in your chest). Alternatively, it reload-cancels fast enough to get a second shot in before they recover from the first stagger. The power-bodyshot combo is enough to kill most non-bosses outright. If I get an easy headshot, I'll take it, but it's a deadly versatile weapon, at any range and with any shot placement.

Probably one of the most gratifying guns (when you hit your target cuz bouncy bouncy everywhere) I've only used it on a couple of snipers but I always use it on the batarian sentinel for some reason. I just feel like it is HIS gun it's fun to catch enemies in submission net and shoot it through their faces. Kishock is probably the only gun I ever use explosive rounds on because, well I got a max number of those stupid things and I don't like using them on anything else. Incendiary is probably for efficient but it's kinda fun to hit enemies and then they're all like, "Hey, cool I'm still alive!" then the explosion goes off and kills them.
It's also fun to use the kishock to bash enemy skulls in. I picture my batarian getting frustrated with it when it doesn't fire properly or something and just decides to melee everything instead, cursing to himself while he does it.

I usually go harpoonin with the BatSent.....sub-net em' then poon away ..... nothing feels better than poonin' you some Cerberus other wise, I use a character with a stun power then harpoon them with incid. ammo.

The only gun in the game I run with explosive ammo for fun, mainly with the BatSent. For Gold it's a lot of fun especially in the early waves as there are lots of mooks around, it's not that good for platinum as it don't do much armor damage.
