I even went out for my way to have another Barber visit. Loose hair and clean shaven. Then Triss went "wow! You went all out." Or something. Haha. Because I even bought the Skellige pants a d fine shoes. Wondered level of finery you have to wear to get that comment or f I went over kill. The conversation with Triss was kinda... Familiar affection. A history. Voice acting and delivery superb if even I picked up on that. Glad to go to a ball with her. I used Tris' alternative DLC outfit just for the ball (usually keep her in her standard outfit). It's a bit tedious to go back to the main menu to change it there but it seems logical that she would dress up as well.

I've never seen anyone comment on it, so I gotta ask: was I the only one who thought that the reason for Triss house being so crooked was a nod to Arthur Conan Doyle's "The Red Headed League"? Maybe I try too hard to see easter eggs?

I was curious to why her house was tilted when no others were. There must be an u derlying reason. Perhaps it's that.

Maybe I try too hard to see easter eggs? I thought it was a reference to a house she had in the books. Some story about a fool digging underneath the foundation. And yeah, I love angry Triss:

A QuickTime event for a kiss?!
Since I'd gone from "it's annoying to chase her through a dumb maze" to admiring her silliness as she played at the fountain in the rain (it's like, always raining in this game) I went for the kiss.
Hope that doesn't lock me in @_@

Well. Witcher wins at choosing clothes and romantic moments with LI at Balls. But the Winter Palace itself as well as the layers of intrigue was far better done in DAI. I guess it's more like an underhwelming quest at the large estate of a Countess is the back drop for playing dress up and kiss scenes. I can roll with that.

I went for the kiss. Hope that doesn't lock me in @_@ Don't worry, your not locked in, The lock in is in two parts, first you have to tell Triss you love her and not to get on the boat. Then you have to tell Yennefer to her face that you don't love her. (not something you can do by mistake.) But let me have another go of watering down the hatred of Triss you went into the game with, because seeing her in that light is changing the way you interpret her actions. We can discuss Yennefers actions and motivations when you have finished the game and aren't concerned with spoilers. 1268: Geralt and Yennefer die in Rivia. Dandelion and Zoltan help Ciri load their dead bodies into a boat and Ciri rows away. Nobody in this world has seen Ciri since, as she is no longer in this world. (although they don't know this, her last words to Yennefer is that she is leaving for good.) 1270: Two years later, Triss is at Kaer Morhen with the remaining witchers when a weak but alive Geralt appears out of nowhere. Someone she has loved and has had a close relationship with for many years. Almost instantly they come under attack by Salamander and Triss is close to death before Geralt gives her the potion. A young witcher has been killed and they plan to split up and leave Kaer Morhen the next day. She wants to make love to him one more time before she loses him again. (Geralt doesn't know it, but they have made love many times before.) After making love, Triss is surprised to find that Geralt had no memory of them having done that before, but for all she knows, his memory might return when he wakes in the morning. Has she used his amnesia to steal him away from her best friend who died 2 years earlier? In his current state, is she or the other witchers doing him any favors by telling him about his adopted child who may be in grave danger on another world, where Geralt or anyone else in this world could find her or go to her? Ciri could only be found by Geralt or Yennefer (who they still think is dead) if she chose to come back. Is choosing not to torment him with this information before he regains his memory and can fully understand the situation, taking advantage of his memory loss? (Remember Triss and the witchers have no way of knowing what happened on the Isle of Avallach.) Likewise with Shani, is she taking advantage of his amnesia when she sleeps with him? We know Geralt had slept with Shani in the past because Dandelion tells him so, that is after he gets over the shock of seeing him alive! He says I helped load your dead body into a boat. You say Triss kept it from him for years, but the time between Geralt turning up alive in witcher 1 1270 and the events at Loc Muinne 1271 at the end of witcher 2 where Geralt has all his memory back is at most 18 months, and he had regained many memories of Yen before that time. Witcher 2 starts 4 weeks after the end of witcher 1, and right at the beginning of witcher 2 you get this: Yennefer had been freed from the hunt for more than two years by this time and had made no contact with Triss or the other sorceress' to even tell them she was alive, even if she didn't want to get back with Geralt. The first time they know for sure she is alive is when Geralt gets the note to meet her in Willoughby. Triss telling Geralt in Witcher 3 that she had used his amnesia to take advantage of him had nothing to to with Yennefer or Ciri. She was referring to using him to advance the interests of the Lodge of Sorceress', and helping Foltest with the Striga to sure up her position and influence over Foltest, and with the exception of helping Foltest, he had to do those things anyway to achieve his own goal of retrieving the stolen witcher secrets.

Thanks olnorton I had checked all the sections but not the special item already equipped area. The Redanian king is a tad nutty. And talking to him failed the Gangs of Novigrad quest. But reloading to go talk to Cleaver gets me nothing. I looked online and it looks like there is some special order to things. Eh. More for the failed pile.

More for the failed pile. 1: He is just a boy, he is 4 years younger than Ciri and has been scared of, and put in his place by Philippa Eilhart his whole live. Hence his hatred for sorceress' and all things magical. (But his father Vizimir II the Just, was a very good King) 2: It's a small and insignificant quest and I usually choose to fail it. It's annoying that they mark quests as failed when you never choose to undertake them in the first place.

Then Geralt beats him whether I want him to or not. I would have been willing, try should have let me do it. Hardly any satisfaction to not click the blows myself. Then that threatening speech! Whew Geralt! These flashbacks are funny. The way they look into the distance

It's a shame, Radovid was a very interesting character in the Witcher 2. The fact that they just made him crazy was very disappointing. Triss and Dijkstra. Both are complicated further if you choose to take their book history into account, but even that could have been avoided, especially with Triss. Didn't happen. They wrecked them both.
