Hype levels increasing. I'm liking the multiclass system as it is explained here, the original video about it left me a bit underwhelmed/confused, but after seeing that I'm definitely going to multiclass at least some of my party.

PoE was ok, but man did that combat was tiresome. Would be way more fun if we had Dungeon Siege III with more companions.

Do we know when it's going to become possible to link a steam / GOG account to claim the game? I didn't see that option yet, maybe because I didn't get the beta reward. Beta access was in tier 99$+ or you need to add it as an add-on (you can still add it as a add-on). Official explanation to get the beta key. Good news, the beta is more stable than POE1 first beta release, bad news, lots of features are still missing (but POE1 beta started like that too).

I did the beta for the first game. Didn't feel a particular need to do it again.

Shadowrun were only modern crpgs that really ( pleasantly, in a ticklish way) surprised me. Tiresome combat would be how you'd describe the new Torment's offering. POE was quite a lot better than Wasteland 2, and Torment:ToN, INXile being the true disappointment of the recent cRPG renaissance. The only real good Shadowrun was Dragonfall. Both Returns and Hong Kong were disappointing in different ways (combat was a cakewalk in Hong Kong for starters. But to be fair, the Shadowrun series never had great tactical combat so ...)

Eh, not a fan of injuries system, plain annoyance. And I'd ditch this bizarre stat system and make something more similar how it was Arcanum. Seems Sawyer's now dialing back on what he intended with it and now inch by inch falling back to what he originally hated (Dennovating?).

Obsidian better starts making a game like NWN 2, KOTOR II, Fallout New Vegas or Alpha Protocol. We have enough isometric (camera 20 meters above the ground) RPGs already...

So I've heard that Obsidian recently registered a trademark for something called The Outer Worlds, and that some of their devs were revisiting everything they loved and hated about New Vegas, among others. Think Obsidian is going to try their hands at space opera :ulikeit: ?

I'm curious about the format, will it be third person? isometric?

Think Obsidian is going to try their hands at space opera ? Was about to comment this the other day, but I forgot. It sounds interesting. I'm curious about the format, will it be third person? isometric? It's all speculation at this point. Not even the name is a given, since Project Eternity became Pillars of Eternity. While I hope Outer Worlds can allow Obsidian to finally realize some of their abandoned concepts for New Vegas (multiple races*, playing after the ending, among others) part of me hopes it's just a bit harder on the hard versus soft science fiction spectrum this time. For variety's sake, if nothing else.
*In Obsidian's earliest stages of NV, they considered allowing players to make their Couriers ghouls or super mutants. This was scrapped when they found out resizing skins and environments (like doors) for super mutants would have been too much hassle, and to lore breaking that a ghoul could gain enough faction rep. A pity really, since it could have been as challenging, yet rewarding as playing a Nosferatu in Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines

There simply aren't enough science fiction RPG games out there.

Completely hypothetical talk here. But, what if Obsidian secretly got to work with Bethesda again and "Starfield" (the supposed space RPG thingy supposedly being on the works by Beth) ends up being a project between the two companies? I mean I doubt it, not until Bethesda takes off the stick they have on their asses and let Obsidian work with/for them again, but it's something that came to mind since both now are technically working on a supposed "space" game. True be told, probably best to let Obsidian work alone, if Bethesda gets in, they might just fuck something up again to attract "the wider audience" like they did with Fallout 4.

I suppose it could happen, but I'd be real curious what engine they were using. The Outer Worlds (project Indiana) is Tim Cain/Leonard Boyarsky game which use the Unreal Engine 4. That game is getting published by Take 2 Private Division (which only do AA and devs get to keep ownership of the IP). Tim Cain hinted at it being scifi. Also, Chris L'Etoile is currently at Obsidian Entertainment as senior narrative designer.
