I've been thinking about starting a new run around then as well.

Also, my friend has been working on a cross-stitch pattern template thing for Jaal (and some other chars too but Jaal amirite), he showed me his progress today and it looks pretty cute 🐱

I asked him if that would be ok! 😁 I'm sure he won't mind

Well, after reading a 100K+ 26 chapter heart-meltingly romantic Bagginshield fanfic (who needs novels when there's fanfic) I felt the intense need for a really romantic video game relationship. But I also kind of wanted one that was canon so I don't have to pretend my character uses sign language (hello Dragon Age Inquisition); that gave me the idea to restart MEA :-O which I honestly thought I'd never play again. And much as I adore those Reyes kiss scenes, let's be honest; that romance doesn't have the width and breadth of Jaal's... it's more whirlwind, whereas Jaal is slow burn, which is just what I need right now...

So I started the game up and made myself an absurdly adorable Ryder.


He's all emo and intense with the dark make-up lmao but lately I've gotten rid of the make-up and holy moly he's still super cute. I don't even have to use mods to make a cute character?! I'm enjoying this more than I realized?! I was playing on insanity at first for the challenge, but my mood has soured recently (hello darkness my old friend) and in a fit of pique I turned it down to narrative b/c why the hell not?!

And... I'm legit having fun?! I had nearly completed the game previously on insanity, and that was also my Jaal playthrough, but I quite right before the end out of sheer boredom and frustration. I just wasn't having fun. Maybe just too much stress in my life? I don't know. But without worrying about strategy and tactics, I am actually enjoying the characters, the story, and the romance, tee-hee :> Oh I still find some of the writing just AWFUL (like can Cora mention the asari one more time? JUST ONE MORE TIME? No, really, please don't).

But during this difficult holiday season (never a fun time for childless people without a romantic partner) it is doing a super swell job of taking my mind of things...

Oh, Jaal....!!

Thanks, Lee! I'm excited to be able to just move things along instead of having to play the same fight over and over 10x before I can advance... fuck Insanity lol!!

It's been very very quiet.  Finding out there wasn't going to be any dlc sort of killed conversations.  :sob:

yeah lilyenachaos got it right about the lack of DLC killing conversations. It was such a stupid decision that I'm still irritated over and I really haven't been keeping up to date on Mass Effect now, so I don't know if there will be book or comic tie ins etc. and if there is, well I wont be buying them.

I'm glad you're still around though.

EDIT: @____@ I just finished and Akksul is.......maturing. Lol and now I've got the story craving again.

You still have them all perfectly in character and I absolutely loved the Moshae's “It is settled then. Gather up your things, children – bring your guns.”  line, I've gotta say that your stories make me love her even more.

I agree, sucks about the DLC stuff. Will still get the comics and books, since then one could make a plot and stuff to fit what should have happened in the game using fanfics.

And another thing- I would love to see more on the Angara and the Kett. But looks like the published novels and comics don’t even have them… (correct me if I am wrong on that). At least there’s fanfics…

I have been thinking (and to help keep the thread going)- if in Mass Effect Andromeda 2, the wrong choices can get your squad members taken by the Kett and worst case scenario Exalted, I would seriously be if that happened to Jaal. Would be the cause of a restart of the game...
