Reading the comments...yeah. Some people are boxed into their own minds. I don't get why it's considered weird or sad to have romance in an rpg game.¯\_(ツ)_/¯ From two of the comments on that page this pretty much sums it up: Here's the close-minded people who assume too much: "Man I dont get it. Relationships in videogames and romancing a bunch of polygons is fucking sad." Here's the reasonable fellow that knows what he's talking about: "What's a roleplaying game without roles or interactions with other characters? Just a game."

(lol Thank you, that's so nice ^^ I'd definitely never call myself pretty but I do take great pride in my hair; it's a beast to work with!) I really do think Shallura will become canon. Did you notice how he finally called her by her name in the last episode? (When the castle was being attacked) And several times he shows concern for health and safety; I love that time she was "drawing" something and he reached out and laid his hand over hers and was like, "Princess, you need to rest..." I totally squeeed lol (So not Jaal related, sorry, although I think Jaal would make a very handsome Galra...) Okay I know this is totally, completely off-topic but I'm gonna jump into this conversation to say that I also think shallura will be canon, they've been hinting at it and that "you need to rest" scene pretty much confirmed that I think? And also the whole space mom and space dad thing they've got going on. Although I'm kinda worried they're going to go for Keith/Allura because of that whole scene with the - holding hands in space and whatever, you know the one I'm talking about. I'm also a huge klance shipper so the whole Keith/Allura thing has me worried, I hope that was just nothing but how else do you explain that scene? Why would they put that in the show? It was obviously romantic, so idk I really hope they don't go with Keith/Allura because it would ruin two of my ships, one of which has an actual chance to become canon. I also find the idea of Keith/Allura kinda cringy idk why (Also Shiro is my son and I love him very much) Tbh I've seen absolutely no proof of Kallura throughout the whole thing. The time they both took off for the perceived safety of the crew was not a romantic decision (despite Lance's constant questioning to the contrary lol) and the "shippy hug" that Kallura fans scared/spoiled me on turned out to not be shippy at all. The only thing the ship has going for it is the fact that it was canon in the original version... where Pidge was a guy and Shiro didn't exist, so, yeah. Put in spoiler since non-Jaal

About the poll 58% of the people are blind Nah 58% are the YouTubers (with exception to the few good ones) Also, I love how the one comment talks about "The Good Old Days" where there wasn't furries, sex with aliens etc etc... Clearly he's 12 and never seen to a Star Trek convention, or old classic SEGA Street Fighters. I'd rather hear about furries and weird shit, than doom and gloom, and everyday hearing about U.S. president Trumpelstiltskin... Hell, Beauty and the Beast? As in, the original version (whatever that may mean). And all the various fairy tales featuring women with bears, monsters, or bulls for husbands. I actually know someone (he is married to a family member, so, NOT a friend) who makes fake troll accounts on facebook and youtube just to be a dick. He has several friends who do it, too. So I no longer take YT comments or otherwise seriously. It's probably a child, a man-child, or just a sick person. Therefore, what they say is invalid. As for the poll, eh, it's fair, I think we are a (LARGE but still) niche group: fans who enjoy romances, but who are also interested in male characters. To be fair, the majority of ME players are straight men (nothing wrong with that).

OMG yES!!!!! I'm ultra trash for them too *fingers crossed for those pairings in s3* Also, I saw your selfie Artemis and you're very pretty! I love your hair (lol Thank you, that's so nice ^^ I'd definitely never call myself pretty but I do take great pride in my hair; it's a beast to work with!) I really do think Shallura will become canon. Did you notice how he finally called her by her name in the last episode? I totally squeeed lol (So not Jaal related, sorry, although I think Jaal would make a very handsome Galra...) Is it weird that I just can't see any of the main cast that way?? Maaaaaaaybe Kieth/Lance, but I just can't see any of them getting into that kind of relationship with each other. Maybe I just have weird taste in ships. (At any rate it's nice to see other VLD fans. It seriously gave me some ME1 vibes ) This is probably the case initially. And I think especially if we meet him after we have some trouble with the Kett, the crew of the tempest and Hyperion will defs meet him and the rest of the Angara with a level of distrust. And it'll also depend on why he decided to travel with us. That'd offer some early drama, at least among the human crew. I imagine Peebee might like him the most initially, and I know my Ryder's always gonna try his best to be nice to him. Actually, random tangent, but are we working on the assumption that Jaal hasn't been off his homeworld/to the nexus? If he's an important figure - or related to one in one way or another - I would think he's probably met quite a few Milkies and is somewhat familiar with them.

Besides, games are ment to take us out of our shitty world and allow us to do things we'd never do for real. Mad at boss? Jump on GTA and blow shit up. Sad or hurt, listen to soothing music or play a romance game. Loving a digital character is no difference than some kid with a poster of Lady Gaga, Brittany Spears, or Taylor Handson (yes I know, I know-- FG ref), you'll never have them.

Relationships in videogames and romancing a bunch of polygons is fucking sad." Here's the reasonable fellow that knows what he's talking about: "What's a roleplaying game without roles or interactions with other characters? Just a game." Those comments were so cringy, all of them. And yet, I'm sure they all romanced Miranda for completely scientific reasons. Honestly, tho, characters have always drawn me in. I was a voracious reader as a child, and while I didn't have a great many friends, I did have them -- I learn social skills just fine. But I've always loved a good character. Was is escapism from a crappy childhood? Was it a way to experience worlds and adventures I never could? IDK. I actually don't understand what they're criticizing. All of it is just polygons, not just the romances. So why play at all? To get your quota of virtual murder out, or to experience a well-crafted story? If so, then what's the harm in adding a little romance, just like books and movies do? I guess you could say that a book or movie isn't interactive the same way a video game is... but then, I'd say that said video game is still limited by the choices the devs wrote, so it's closer to a "choose-your-own-adventure" book. You aren't fully substituting real life social skills for fictional romances. I don't know. I was raised by nerds myself, big time sci-fi and fantasy fans. They watched Star Trek, Star Wars, read Tolkien and played video games, and I picked up on a lot of that for myself. So these sorts of things were always important to me growing up. Good stories, good characters... Man, it is too early in the morning for this. I need more coffee.

Ohhh that's fucking sad oh please troll, get some AC in your basement.

Okay I know this is totally, completely off-topic but I'm gonna jump into this conversation to say that I also think shallura will be canon, they've been hinting at it and that "you need to rest" scene pretty much confirmed that I think? The only thing the ship has going for it is the fact that it was canon in the original version... where Pidge was a guy and Shiro didn't exist, so, yeah. Put in spoiler since non-Jaal Really? I mean yeah they obviously did it for the team's safety, but imo the whole part where the pod just exploded and then they held hands in an almost-embrace, just the two of them, after running off together - the writers must have known what that looked like. The only reason I'm not that bothered by it is because Keith seemed totally and completely uninterested/oblivious, also in the scene where they were both near the pods and Allura sort of fell into his arms. Throughout that episode (S02E06) I got the feeling Allura was kinda flustered when they had these "moments" while Keith just didn't care at all ( bc he gay af - yes, yes I am total complete 100% voltron trash I watch crack videos in my spare time) and then yeah the fact that it was canon in the original - although they have changed quite a lot so I don't think that means much. I just really dislike the idea of the two of them, for some reason. I do still think shallura is going to become canon though, they've hinted at it in the show a lot more than they did with Keith and I hope/think we'll get to see some more cute/awkward moments between them in s3. I wish I could say the same about klance... sigh Also I confess I kinda ship Shiro and Sendak but that ship gets so much hate... so I'm not gonna talk about it lol

At this rate, everybody aboard the Tempest is going to be a romance option. Nothing wrong with that since then everyone gets who they want, among the main characters at least. Yes. For me anyway, this can only be seen as a positive thing and improvement over the other games. Sure, some people might think it "unrealistic" everyone can be romanced or flung or whatnot, but I am past trying to argue against the "realism" argument people are making in regards to the romances. If nearly everyone on the Tempest is a romance option (I am still unsure about Drack) that means that the balance of things can easily be achieved hopefully, and if the crewmate romances are as equal and meaningful and full of content equalling that of the squadmates, then this balance will only be more solidified. It also gives me hope about the variance of the romances. This could mean there may well be more than one asexual romance for example, or chaste romance for you Hanako, and I am hopeful that even the romanceable NPCs on planets offer wide and varied romantic arcs. The closer we get, the more positive I seem to be feeling. Jaal seems to be a given now for Scott (which causes me to swell immensely) but also it makes me happy that there is a stronger possibility everyone is going to get a balance and good bunch of options Exactly. If everyone on the Tempest is a certain orientation, it comes out equally for all the main orientations at 4 romances. I'm also counting two as of yet unknown crewmembers both because of the romance leaks and because there are a couple crew positions not filled yet. Straight men: Cora, Dr. Lexi, PeeBee, Vetra Straight women: Drack, Jaal, Kallo, Liam Gay men: Drack, Jaal, Kallo, unnamed human male Gay women: Dr. Lexi, PeeBee, unnamed human female, Vetra And depending on how some of the romances go, it offers a good variance of romances while also not limiting options. For example those wanting romances that don't have sex could have Kallo Jath and Dr. Lexi, giving an option of each sex while leaving those orientations affected still with 3 other options. For those who want more exotic alien romances rather than aliens who look like humans could have Drack, Kallo, and Vetra, while the affected orientations will still have 2-3 options for humans or more human-like aliens. And this is just using the squad and crew, not counting the other romances that they said are not a part of that. And even among these 'major' romances, it is only two more than they did in Dragon Age: Inquisition thus matching their statement of this game having more romances than any other Bioware game so far(excluding SWTOR but the off-Tempest romances may make it match that).

For me it's similar to watching romantic movie or reading a love story novel or any of this with just a part with romantic interaction with people. Romance is everywhere. It is part of life. Why in game it has to be weird? It makes game more realistic. If you don't like it, don't take part in it. Simple. We are not sad this person and her close, limited mind is. I don't think we should worry about haters. Internet is a nasty place sometimes.

Hahahahaha Drack? Hah! Yeah no. Seriously not every squadmate has to be a romance. Wasn't it said that there's romances that are not squadmates? And also, why does people(not everyone but some) think that every people so far that has been showed is a romance? Come on.

As for a Quarian male, there might be one that can be romances off the ship if they are in the vanilla game. Or in the DLC that brings them in if they are not and Bioware decides to do that. Plus who knows, we may have more crew than I'm guessing and one is a male Quarian who can be romancable, replacing Drack on the list or something.

I don't think we should worry about haters. Internet is a nasty place sometimes. Exactly. To me, 'shipping' my character with another NPC is not that different from me 'shipping' characters in a movie or T.V. show or comic or whatever. Except the difference is, I get to determined what the girl looks like and how she acts and what decisions she makes and who she falls for. And yeah, the people (or aliens/elves/whatever) I go for in games tend to share traits of people I'm attracted to in real life, or to the types of characters who have been my favorites in other media. I don't see it as any different from lusting over some hot female character in some T.V. show. Sure, the real-life actress' looks play a part, but as much of it is how the character carries herself and speaks and acts in the show - a construct as artificial as the so-called 'polygons' in a game. And as for the non-human stuff - that goes back as far as the Greek and Egyptian myths where deities and other creatures fall for human beings. Beauty and the Beast. Werewolves, vampires, and so on. How many women lusted over Legolas in the Lord of the Rings films, or, for an earlier example, Jareth from the Labyrinth (guilty). How many guys crushed on the hot female aliens in Start Trek, or hot mutant chicks from X-Men? This isn't anything new.

I don't know about Kallo, but I seriously doubt that Drack is going to be a romance, and that the whole crew/squad in the Tempest will be composed of LI. Expecially because there are LI outside. I don't want to sound pessimistic or crush people's hopes, but I honestly don't see it happening.

Nooo, no to Drack for me, and no to Kallo. xd I want unnamed human male, haha. Or quarian. Pretty please? Or I'll be like: nooooooooooooooo.com/Well, as I said even if you don't like those options you would still have Jaal and UHM. I know there is always Jaal. There is good chance that I will like him. That doen't mean that I would like to have other options I may like. Drack is really not good proposition. I'm just saying that they can do better. I don't see the appeal. He's old and he's Krogan. And lets face it Drack and Kallo are only speculations. Nothing more.

What I want are beautiful connections with my crew that makes my MEA experience more fulfilling.

Whoa, wait... Gays for Drack? Um... can I say "OUCH!?" Well, there was Bull, but he didn't have armor plating and four "power plants". Now for women, I can see why but men? Not so sure.

My entire post was just a speculation using a theoretical set up. I don't see why Drack needs to be ruled out though. People said the same thing about The Iron Bull, and yet he because a romance quite a few people enjoy.

Cassandra, Dorian, Iron Bull, Josephine are some of my favourite friendships (I'm not even mentioning Varric, because DA2) in DAI and yeah friendships can be just as (if not more) heartwarming and beautiful experiences as romances. I just adored all these characters. I hope MEA is similar in that aspect.
