A wild Jaal appeared! Edit: Also, you guys are making me want to play Pillars of Eternity. Partially because I'm desperate for any game to occupy me before Andromeda.

Mintty Yeah, I personally don't think they'll release any real information about the romances today. If they do, I'm positively surprised, but I certainly don't expect them to. I'm still okay with them not saying more about the romances. I understand why people want to know. I usually planed my PTs by romance. But for some reason I want to feel like Ryder, not knowing anything XD God I should really turn of the internet but I enjoy the hype to much. I'm okay with not knowing anything about the majority of the romances but when I take a liking to a certain character (like Jaal) I want to know whether I can romance them or not in advance because I will spend my entire game trying to romance them otherwise "maybe the romance starts later","I probably messed up with a choice or something". Example? I tried to romance James in ME3 and with the flirty dialogue, I thought it was possible... Only later when I tried to find a guide for it, did I realise he wasn't an option. So yeah I think it'd be good for them to release info on the romance. At the very least, Tuesday is one of the days they've been consistently releasing a character page right? We should definitely see something today then. ^^ I got some good video game romance news for another game today so I admit I am quite distracted from Bioware's disappointment in how they are handling it. Which game?! I just found out Pillars of Eternity 2 is introducing Companion Relationships. Which I wish the first game had as well but yay! Also yeah..Tuesday, where's the Drack character bio, BIOWARE?! *waits impatiently * I tried so hard to get into Pillars of Eternity but just couldn't. Maybe I'll try again with 2.. not because of the relationships of course... Nooo. Definitely not.

Looked at the store page for PoE and seeing South Park: The Stick of Truth as one of the publisher's credentials gave me a good chuckle.

Maybe it's just me sticking to that whole "Jaal looks like nobility" thing, but that image (I know it's not canon) kind of reminds me of one of those nobleman portraits from back in the renaissance days.

You know from the first time I saw Jaal in the trailer, to the wallpaper and the concept art, I always get a sad vibe from him.

If 'dapper' really is a word to describe Jaal's personality, I'll be a happy camper! No LIs I've had in BioWare games so far can really be described that way. Maybe Solas was once upon a time before he made himself miserable. You know from the first time I saw Jaal in the trailer, to the wallpaper and the concept art, I always get a sad vibe from him. I get sad in the concept art and wallpaper, but that may just be how his face is (aka those nasolabial fold-like lines down his face gives the vibe of 'frown'). But in the trailer I thought he looked more confident than anything.

Common BW look too for certain characters. Blackwall for example. First thought was "sad man, sad past" and I had no idea what his story was at the time!

Yeah I really like the proper gentleman/higher up idea- bonus points if he gets really passionate in romance scenes. Trying not to get too attached to the way I envision him though juust in case.

Which game?! I just found out Pillars of Eternity 2 is introducing Companion Relationships. Which I wish the first game had as well but yay!
Also yeah..Tuesday, where's the Drack character bio, BIOWARE?! *waits impatiently * What really? OMG I was really salty I could't romance Aloth. This makes me really really happy! I just literally started playing Pillars of Eternity this morning. Hearing that Pillars of Eternity 2 is going to have companion relationships makes me massively happy. Yaslana, I was salty too that I couldn't romance Aloth. I'm also hoping for Eder as well as Aloth. Sorry for off topic. *huggles huggles huggles huggles* Has any good information been released yet? *frets* I dunno if I can keep finding stuff to do to curb my impatience. Lol Totally should be doing house work, but, blech.

Yeahh the "sad" vibe is definitely there. But maybe in more of a "has seen shit" sort of way? It's just something about his expression and his eyes. He looks almost tired. (Also I still can't get over how pretty he is)
Also to anyone interested in the game, please give Pillars of Eternity a shot. As Bioware and RPG fans I think there's a good chance you'll like it, and love the characters.
Fun fact: Eder and Aloth are voiced by the same person

I can think of a couple characters that have gotten scars from different conflicts. Rivalry fights, betrayals, mistakes on important missions, protecting people, etc. I'm really interested in the story behind Jaal's scar, but the more I think about it the more I feel like whatever is sad about him might be related to that scar.

I like how inter-companion romance is brought up, since they already touched on that with Pallegina and one of the female DLC companions, from what I've read. I'd like to see that angle explored further than it is in Bioware games, and it sounds like Obsidian is poised to do so!

But that's the first thing that comes to mind. Mind you, I'm overdue for a nap so it could just be sleepiness talking. As an aside, I did find another song that I thought was fitting for the Jaal playlist. The lyrics are kind of perfect...

Maybe Jaal had good friends who were Kett? Maybe even Archon? Maybe they fought together once, in the same team? And then his corruption would come as a betrayal. But probably nah I like the betrayal idea, but I can't come up with any ideas as to how it would happen, probably because I'm also very sleepy lol (I just wrote "the Jaal" and it took me a while to figure out what sounded wrong)

My only annoyance about the romance reveals is that they said they weren't going to, and then put Cora/Scott making out in a trailer. Then today they put out a Valentine's Day 'card' with Cora/Scott. So I guess they aren't going to unless it's for the straight guys? Meh. Whateva. I just want to hear Jaal's voice. That's really the only thing I'm hoping for this week. Or next week...or the week after. I am going to go clean the house (fun!) and hope that when I get back there will be a Drack info release, or something. I'm gonna sound real pissy now, but it feels to me like they are all "here we show this because it is for Real Gamers, aka heterosexual males, age 18-30. They pay our wages." Ok, so maybe that is their biggest player base, and so marketing drives over what is said, but it pisses me off, I can't help it. It is deep in my nature to hate hypocrisy, and it is hypocrisy to refuse to give any info about romances, and then give out the most obvious one because what? Everyone and their mother knew hetero men will be taken care of. You plebs can wait, no need to be antsy, be good gays and lesbians and bi's and females and you will find out...eventually. Aint no one got time for you, riff raff. Maybe I should just go sleep.

I think they showed Cora with Scott, because Scott is the main male player and Cora would be the "canon" LI, and to also show people this game has romances. They aren't just catering to former ME fans, they are showing new people what ME is about. Romance is a staple in it and this was Scott's trailer. Sara's will probably show Liam.

Guys, now you've got me really curious about that game! I just checked out the website and might end up backing it. Haven't played the first part but with a release in Q1 2018 I'd have more than enough time to catch up on that. I'm also eyeing the game now, too. XD Anything to help tide me over til March 21st. I'm even half-considering buying Origin Access for that month just to play some MEA on the 15th. It's not worth it, but man is part of me tempted. OTL I was patiently waiting for MEA and then Bioware had to give us Jaal. My curiousity knows no bounds now.

I wasn't planning on playing the DLC but... I think you just convinced me I've only heard that there's a bit of ship teasing (mostly a one way crush), not actually played the DLC myself. It definitely isn't anything substantial. It happens pretty much purely in party banter like in DA games, ya. Maneha hitting on Pallegina or teasing her. Pallegina is sort of a Cassandra type if you have to make a comparison... it's definitely not like Dorian/IB. I found the DLC to definitely be worth though, almost as long as the main campaign and it had super interesting lore stuff! I did take Maneha and Pallagina with me everywhere... I ship it either way. @centum I know it's frustrating, I feel the same way. A step away would probably be good cause sadly we can't force anything out of them. If it gets closer to release with no more substantial info I will probably stop coming here completely. Any big leaks will probably end up on tumblr so a break is good if you need it. I can understand what marketing is trying to do here and I'm trying to just accept it but... >>;;

Lots of new spells, abilities and weapons, on top of the story and lore you get. Plus they made it so you can start the dlc stuff if you want then come back to the mainland and do base game stuff, its really convenient.
