Jaal Ama Darav (Official Thread)

So I took some screenshots from the trailer that are vaguely Jaal/Angara related (warning, big images!)
Here's some of the Roekaar (an enemy faction of the Angara, presumably - they're the ones suspected of killing Krogan in the investigation scene in Sara's gameplay trailer where she's talking to Reyes):
And some images of that same tropical planet, with the purple foliage and blue-glowing plants - though in the second we're fighting Remnant. It looks like there's maybe a vault entrance in these? Also, notice the violet planet/moon in the background of the first one (sorry about the power wheel! It's as close to a shot without it as I could get!):
And here's where we see Jaal's squad icon. Note that we're fighting Kett or is than an Angara? (I can't tell cuz it's frozen!  ), and the plants are the same as in the image above, though the lighting is different, and it's a drier environment with cliffs and such. A different region of the same planet shown above, perhaps?
And here's a weapon from the Helius cluster (I'm thinking Angaran), a shotgun called "Dhan." Some weapons that also might be Angaran, based on the names, are a shotgun called "Hesh," sniper rifles called "Isharay" and "Lanat," and a melee weapon called an "Angaran Firaan." (The Kett weapons have English sounding names, far as I could tell.) If these are Angaran weapons, I'm really digging their language. (Originally I listed Ruzad as well, but it's been pointed out that's the name of Drack's shotgun. So some of these may be Krogan instead )
And I included this shot because the armor Ryder is wearing kinda reminds me of the Angaran armor with the soft contours and the coloring. Maybe that means we get some Angaran-inspired armor to wear? Would be neat if so:

That was the first thing I thought when I realized it made him look like a pirate - we already have the ex-merc/pirate/rogue/questionable morals type. Two of them, at that. It seems unlikely they would go for a third one.

Hell, we can even add Peebee to that list, isn't her class name or whatever literally Rogue Academic? 

Yes! That armor set in the last screenshot. I had the same thoughts about it looking Angaran, especially with the soft green colors and helm shape.


I think Drack was seen wielding the "Ruzad" shotgun. A dev tweeted it's Krogan for "Judgement"..or I'm just making that all up.

I'm laughing imagining the Angara making a smaller version of that helm just for little human Ryder. We don't have all that flesh that needs to fit in there, after all!

Also since we're getting a squad commanding video at some point, let's hope that's where we'll finally get a glimpse of Jaal!

Has it been confirmed that we can't recolor weapons and/or armor? :\

You may be right! As I said, I just pulled all the weapon names that weren't in English, since the two we know are Angaran/from the Helius Cluter have those non-English naming conventions. I'll go look that up, and edit my post to avoid confusion if so!

Edit: Yep, you're right! I'll edit my image dump post so as not to misinform people.

I think one of the devs on twitter said "ruzad" was a Krogan word for justice, or something? I remember it was a Krogan word though. "Hesh" sounds Krogan to me as well so not all of those might be Angaran, at least Ruzad isn't, sadly   I do agree that the weapon in the screenshot looks very Angaran.

I'm still very curious about the Angaran language... 

Also lmao isn't it funny how we assume all other races have one language? Like, that's not how civilization and culture and countries and races work? Is this in the lore or something someone pls tell me

Some tweet a few days back. It's in the Twitter thread too, but so many pages back. I remember feeling sad when I saw it.

So we are stuck with ugly looking armors and we can't even make them the color we want? So much for having a ton of customization options.
