but what if "do not ingest" tier issues? human-turian and human-quarian is bad enough with the chirality thing, who knows, species which evolved in entire separate galaxies probably can't even like, hold hands without bursting into flames and four kittens dying The implications of how causal it is to have sex with the Angara makes me curious about their compatibility with other species. *A new species from an unknown galaxy lands on your planet* *Your first impression is to screw it*

A romantic nickname or association with something from his culture that is reflective of his love for Ryder. If he doesn't call me my Ryder the Angaran equivalent of darling or sweetheart I'm going to sue Bioware. I'm kidding Or am I?!

Now now, people who want to screw Jaal. Let us calm ourselves for the next 45 days. Mike Gamble himself said some romances won't even involve sex because the mission was too important.
I'm scared.

I don't necessarily think the 'all the bang' comment was an indication of anything (if that's what you're referring to). Though they do sound like alien nature hippies a bit, so having a 'free love' attitude might be part of that. I suppose I wouldn't mind if we had a romance like Zevran's where it starts off casual but becomes more, provided that's not the only way to go about it. And provided it does become serious in the end. I'm really not interested in a friends-with-benefits relationship if that's all there is. However I kind of see PeeBee playing that role if anyone does. Where she'd be alright with casual sex early on, but if she does fall in love it's kind of despite herself. So I doubt Jaal would be that way too if he's our other bi option (which I suspect he is), seeing how they've gotten criticism for the promiscuous bi trope prevalent among Bioware LIs. And I'd really prefer if we had to 'earn it,' so to speak, with Jaal. And that it's not just about sex, even if more casual attitudes toward it (maybe even with other species) happen to be prevalent in his culture.

I was just thinking again about Jaal and how they might position him as vital to us so we have ample reason to recruit him. It could just be because we need a guide of sorts for this galaxy or that it helps us cement diplomatic relations with the Angara, but I wonder if his knowledge may be more specific. Like, what if he knows things about Archon and his games? Heck, what if he fought him? That'd be an interesting story for that scar of his! Absolutely pure speculation, of course, but it's fun to think about! Okay but what if he fought with him? I get the impression that the Kett and the Angara aren't exactly getting along, because I don't think the Angara would be so friendly and accepting of aliens from a completely different galaxy and agree to ally with them, unless they were desperate. It seems to me like the Angara need all the help they can get and so do we, so we're working together against a common enemy. What if the Kett and Angara are at war? What if they used to live in peace? We still don't know why the Kett are "the bad guys" so if Archon wasn't always so evil (assuming he is evil now), it would give his character more depth. And like you said, we would learn a lot more about Archon by having Jaal on our team if he personally knew him? I have 0 evidence to back this up ofc and I'm probably wrong but hey It could be that the Angara have something to do with the Remnant? Maybe Jaal knows a lot about them, or vaults or something. I like the idea that Jaal provides crucial information for our mission, he seems like he knows a lot and has years of experience that Ryder doesn't, so maybe he could even be some kind of mentor? idk

Well they gave us a Turian and Quarian romance due to fan demand but added complications, so I'm assuming the Angara will be compatible like the Drell, but they remind me of Turians/Quarians and I usually connect similar species appearances to similar biology. Javik being an exception for female Shepard and basically a joke.

Yeah, complications I'm okay with... but if anything I'd prefer those complications be of the 'cultural misunderstandings' variety rather than biology. Because they've already sort of gone there story-wise, so hopefully it's a minor thing if present at all. That Fryda interview comes to mind where she talks about having to learn all the various courtship rituals and dating practices of the different races in the game. I kinda hope the Angara have some slightly weird ones.

I nearly teared when Shepard told Garrus having a child with him is likely impossible but they could still try.

Otherwise that'd be some VERY wonky biology. I guess if you want to imagine an ending with kids with someone like Jaal, you can have/adopt a human kid. And maybe adopt an Angaran kid too! Sounds like the build up to some sitcom family. But yeah, I'd rather they didn't do any "their skin literally gives you hives on contact".

I don't want kids haha but because Garrus did, it made me feel sad. Thane was a reptile, so I think they went the "poisonous toad" route but changed it from possibly fatal to hallucinations and rashes. Turians have that hard shell of skin that would logically hurt like heck against soft human skin, so they had to add that too, but the Angara seem harmless from appearance alone for the moment. Either way, the idea of a sex scene with Jaal is still a bit creepy to me lol

They are very tight-lipped about him in general. I hope we do get some more information at all and they don't plan to "surpise" us with our new alien squadmate in game.

I nearly teared when Shepard told Garrus having a child with him is likely impossible but they could still try. Huh... seems like they should both be smart enough to know that that kind of cross-breeding is impossible. We can't produce offspring with anything that has a different chromosomal configuration than our own. Humans can't even produce children with other great apes, our closest relatives, for the same reason. In case you're wondering, scientists actually tried. Beyond that I think Turians are not even carbon-based life, but silicon. As are the Quarians, which is why they can eat each other's food. But that adds an entirely new dimension to human/turian incompatibility. Only reason the Asari work is because they don't need DNA from anyone.

I meant that they're unlikely to reveal anything else (including releasing his profile) about him before he's officially announced. The next cinematic trailer is a good bet for this to happen, indeed.
