Tbh I would like that... As much as I want to know more about him (OH GODDD TELL ME ALL ABOUT HIM)
I really really want to be surprised ingame.... I want to BE Ryder and meet this guy without any knowledge about him...

I have the same conflicting feelings... want to know EVERYTHING and in the same time is afraid to know (and the chance to be disappointed too...) and want to experience it myself. ahhh, my head is exploding

Yeah I'd think BioWare would have to get off the good rep train they've been riding for their positive inclusion of LGBT characters in games (at a bare minimum though if you ask me) if they made Jaal only romanceable by Sara.

Cause I'm pretty certain Liam will be straight, so that really only leaves Jaal as a male squadmate for Scott to romance, and gay players have never had an alien romance before so.

I mean I'm guaranteed to be upset over Liam or Jaal being gender exclusive regardless, but if both are, then I'd don't really know what I'd do to be honest. That would mean Scott's only male love interest options are NPCs, whilst everyone else gets at least two squadmates to romance Straight Scott: Cora, Peebee/Straight Sara: Liam, Jaal/Lesbian Sara: Cora or Peebee or Vetra.

All I'm trying to say is, that my biggest hope is that gay men aren't burned like this again. I'm not asking for both (though that would be great and I'd never say a bad word again regarding their LGBT romances, but this won't happen) just one. Liam, or Jaal. Yeah I'd be disappointed if I still couldn't romance a male alien, but at least I'd have a male squadmate to romance from the beginning for the first time, and if I didn't have Liam at least I'd have a male alien for the first time.

For those reasons, I argue BioWare has a certain obligation to their gay fans to at least grant them one, so that they may finally catch up a bit to everyone else in regards to what they have been offered in the past.

minus the kink perhaps, will take the PC in a gentlemanly fashion...



TBH, I'm getting Sten vibes when it comes to Jaal, those short answers in DAO were pretty funny but I eventually gained his respect. Really had to work for it.

I'm bit nervous based on this game being ME and not DA one. Although it's same company, DA has always been better in having more equal division of romances. I'm really hoping ME team learned from mistakes of trilogy and has been looking how DA has been doing things. I still think Jaal is going to be bi LI, Vetra available for girls etc., but I'm hoping I'm not expecting too much from ME game. I guess we will know when LIs are announced.. though we might have to wait until release for that.

I really hope they don't wait until release. I'm hoping them waiting "until release" just means we know all the squadmates and the confirmation of NPCs is after release. I think it's unfair we only know Cora is available for Scott.

We shouldn't have to. Especially given the fact they have now broken that rule twice, first with Cora, then with Peebee (though no confirmation yet on who she is available for).

Still hoping for something on Valentine's Day, but who knows maybe they will wait. But they should stop pretending they give a damn about those who don't want to know or "find out for themselves", otherwise they wouldn't have revealed two.


Yes it is unfair. At the very least one squadmate confirmation per gender and sexuality.
Yes, its a strong likelihood that one of the female squadmates isn't romanceable, and that really only leaves Vetra. I think Drack and Vetra won't be romanceable, though a shitstorm will be unleashed like a plague of locusts if Vetra can't be romanced by either Ryder sibling.

Omg okay but. Imagine Jaal trying to convince himself that it's just, y'know, curiosity. They're from another galaxy after all! It only makes sense that he would want to learn everything he could about this mysterious "Pathfinder". And besides, it's his job to keep an eye on him, so it's only natural that he watches his every move and basically follows him around. Right? Yeah, totally. And Ryder being kinda weirded out by this new alien who seems to not trust him at all and has no social skills (because of course Jaal is awkward af around Ryder, I mean, how do you even talk to aliens from another galaxy? Right? That's the only reason, nothing else), which must be the reason he's being bombarded with questions. And after a while he realizes that Jaal is actually just interested. And teases him about it. 

Or Jaal being jealous of Ryder's flirting (or even like one-offs? Because we know those will be in the game?) with other people but not admitting it to himself, and playing it off as "We have an important mission, we don't have time for your flirting, Ryder." and when Ryder flirts with him, he's just baffled, like, why is this small alien person- is he- no way. And then he realizes he was just jealous the whole time. 

OR Ryder saving Jaal's life in an important mission and Jaal being like. Wow. I didn't know he could do that. And boom, respect. Or vice versa and Jaal suddenly realizing he actually cares a lot about this weird alien ape and trying to focus on the mission and ignore it, but obviously failing whenever Ryder is around. But still keeping quiet about it and doing everything he can to protect Ryder? Maybe after a sacrifice or two Ryder is finally like, what are you doing? You can't jeopardize the mission! and Jaal admitting he did it to save Ryder. And just. Quiet understanding.

and then ALL the bang

(or who knows maybe Jaal would be very straightforward and be like "damn" and Ryder freaking out because what? Alien? New Galaxy? Pink cat squid? There wasn't a briefing for this- but he's also kinda intrigued because Jaal is mysterious and kinda intimidating but in a good way and suddenly he can't stop thinking about him)


((or it could be the other way around and Ryder being super straightforward and Jaal being like what? And trying to ignore it but also being slightly amused and reciprocating every now and then just for the sake of seeing his reaction and then of course, he realizes he actually has feelings for Ryder))
