Also I may have been wrong about my theory:  The figure I mentioned seems to have a yellow head? Maybe it's something in front of him, or in the back, but idk... Maybe it's a helmet? The armor's colour scheme still matches Jaal's though, and only Jaal's. I am sure Bioware has cut the really interesting bits from the trailer. The scene feels like there should be more dialogue and I doubt Jaal is just popping out of nowhere, at least I can't tell where he is coming from. |

Some people thought we got companions too early in ME1 and DAI also had everyone join you right away, minus Dorian and Cole. They might have extended the encounters a bit, or we can just head there right away and the scene happens. Hard to say. Aw, were there a lot of criticisms about that? I loved that companions joined you early. I have this weird obsession with making sure I get the most out of the companion roster re: writing, scenes, banter, etc., and I feel like it's a bit of missed opportunity when a companion is recruited later in the game (it's also why I frequently switch up companions for missions). Legion was a prime example of this. I hope we get most of our crew early on in MEA, though I think Jaal might be the exception to this. I think the main complaint was how quickly you can get both Sera and Viv, but also totally miss them in VR. Blackwall was straightforward because of Leliana, and Bull because of Krem. Dorian and Cole are essential to the main quest so you get them no matter what. I would think if Jaal is a squadmate he would be one of the last because everyone else is already on your crew. |

Yeah the waiting is a real struggle. I am literally dying for more info. Every time I look at my calendar I wanna cry cause March 23rd is still sooo far away. I have like the Cabin Fever for waiting for ME:A right now. And ideally I'd like Jaal to join reasonably early on as well, but I don't think we will, given what we've seen so far. Having Jaal around early on though would hopefully mean the romance is long as well, but if he is recruited later, might mean a shorter romance  |

Okay but for real though, bodyguard Jaal? I know you meant it as a joke but I actually like that idea. Could explain why he joins the team, if Ryder somehow becomes important for the Angara (for defeating the Kett, something about vaults, it could be anything - remember the line "I wonder what makes you... special." ?) it would make sense that they would want to ensure Ryder's safety, and send a bodyguard? But then again. Look at that smug face. I feel like he has a higher rank than just "bodyguard" - on the other hand it would explain the battle scar, and maybe the piercings? They seem like more of a mercenary thing? Idk. If that means he's never to leave my side I'd be very down for that! At first he's pretty loose about it, just an ever present shadow on the battlefield, you're always in his crosshairs just in case anyone gets too close. Its all business as usual till Ryder gets hurt. Then it kicks into overdrive, you can't turn around without bumping into him. He picks off everyone before you get a chance to join the fight. He tells himself it's merely his duty but he can't get rid of the panic when he sees an enemy turn their attention to you. The sheer relief when you're back on the Tempest and he can let his guard down. Except not really. Because Peebee's been eyeing you and that niggling feeling of protectiveness bubbles back up in his stomach. *swoons*  Begs the question, will Jaal take a bullet for our dear Pathfinder? *speculations, speculations everywhere* |

I had my romance with Alistair pretty fast. ME seems to go in a slower pace and I like that. |

I do hope Jaal comes early on. I really don't want to wait until we're hours in to get him. I like getting to know my companions as early as possible. It would be kind of odd to meet the representative of one of the important new races not relatively early in the game. If we were to get a Kett squaddie, that would be someone we acquired toward the end of the game. I'm thinking that considering half the point of traveling to a new galaxy was to see new things and meet new alien races, they're going to want to show them off ASAP. Especially when one is joining our team. Trailers can be misleading. For all we know, he joins us before we meet Vetra or Drack. |

I want Angarans to worship a giant sky cephalopod and for Jaal to clutch his chest and say BY THE GREAT SQUID all breathily when important stuff happens .. comment on catching up on some other threads of discussion lately: I interpreted most of the weird/perverted/sex-related stuff as jokes tbh, I didn't see much that I thought people were legitly serious and like secretly fantasizing about or sth I thought most people were being pretty tongue-in-cheek. certainly my own posts about squid reproduction methods and soup drinkers were definitely jokes. bioluminscent angara reminds me of guild wars 2 sylvari [ Gaston ]  |
