Jaal Ama Darav (Official Thread)

Well we did get JOH and Descent 4-9 months after DAI came out, but MEA is slower because they had to patch in a whole bunch of things they couldn't complete pre-launch. Jaal's romance with Scott was a big one since they had to design a whole new romance and call the actors in to record new lines, plus all the shaders, the animation fixes, the new scene when you get the Tempest, etc... DAI didn't have that, so things came out earlier.

Yeah patch 1.08 was like a mini DLC with a new romance added, so I'd say July or Aug most likely. They even mentioned in the Twitch stream that patching in DLC was a new way they were doing things, so the Nomad skins, athletic outfit and Jaal romance are seen as free DLC to them.

*yawns and stretches* haven't made a post like this in sometime! I've been relaxing and watching MEA Let's Play's to try and inspire myself to do the side quests I keep skipping haha I know I should be taking time off being online to relax my nerves, but when I see something important to me, I need to voice my feelings!

Alright so here's the thing. I have been watching a Scott Ryder Lets Play. Guy playing is one of my fav gamers! Angelarts! There is no doubt now at all that Jaal being bi should have happened. Not only does he have sexual tension/undertones with Scott pre-patch, but while there are other romances, Jaal's arms seems to be the ones that Ryder is always nudged toward, and even the friendship route feels like more than friendship between two people who feel it, but are too shy to take the plunge. If I had played as Scott pre-patch, the tension would have killed me! Never having played as male Ryder I had no idea what male players were going through and was wrong to judge, but now? Wow... Jaal is a lover first and a squadmate second!

Will I always prefer Sara's version? Yes. Why? Sara's version I can relate to since I am female (though the OOC submissive attitude still irks me), and I would never want to change it or Scott's. Both are written not only with gender in mind, but the personality of the twin too. Both are special and should never be tampered with or switched for anything, and if they add romantic scenes in DLC's, I hope they keep the gender/personality moments unique for both Scott and Sara with Jaal. Best bi romance ever!

In conclusion and with a clear mind finally, after watching all 120 vids on that channel, I've never been more pleased with BW's decision, though still angry it had to take 4 months for it to happen! *glares at EA* I am also still very ashamed I ever felt Jaal being straight made sense.

If its any consolation, it took two playthrus for me to find out about the crew noticeboard.

I didn't know that most powers, if you hold down the button instead of just pressing it, the ability is a little different.

Eek.. that is a rough one! haha Customization is about all I care about in games.

I did the same, but I returned immediately because the guide said I should explore Aya whenever I can. Aya, Kadara, and the Nexus are the three HUBs I returned to often, so I could grab those yummy quests. 

I didn't know about this either until recently, or that I could mix and match different pieces.

 Probably the most embarrassing was that I kept wondering why my Scott didn't have athletic gear, so I started a new game for him because I thought it was a bug.......and then I realized I needed to pick up from the box in the bedroom first.

Also I spent a good hour trying to find the entrance to the Mithrava sanctuary on Havarl where you first have to get to the sage. Everything was just so dark and misty, herp derp.

I was always getting lost if something wasn't right in front of me. Yeah pathfinder my ass, since my ass was was literally the only thing I could find. :/

I'm glad I'm not the only one though. I don't feel as embarrassed or alone.
