 I sometimes write posts and never submit them

I've been stuck on 95 Revive medals for a week at least. I need either 5 more of them or 22 Plat extractions to finish Squad Elite on this account. Given that the reason I've been stuck on 95 is down to playing with either BSNers or exceptional pugs, I'm beginning to think I could do the Plat extractions quicker than the Revive medals.

Who exactly were you threatening?

That may have been my brain doing literal translations perhaps meaning 'tempting fate' ...Although, I'm predicting that during those Platinum solo attempts, which I expect to be numerous, I would be threatening my sanity with the xx number of attempts and fails, and my husband's soundness of mind - and ears - would be threatened by my incessant in-game cursing comparable to a tipsy, ill-tempered sailor who hasn't seen land for a while. Then there's the community threat, of me recounting my solo experiences here, filled, possibly in this order, with shock, fear, shame, despair, anger, revenge, and then resolution (that may actually be just stubbornness).
If, by any miracle after all these likely attempts, my and others' sanity is still somewhat in tact, and I do become successful, it will inevitably be followed by my triumphant, victorious tales of invincibility and fortitude.

All BSNers are rage-gellers to some extent. Embarrassment is certainly a common reason, but you may eventually get over that and find joy in learning the art of the rage-gel-missile combo, which is most commonly triggered by Geth Hunters, though Marauders and Swarmers can occasionally be responsible too. Caution is advised against Collectors, naturally, unless you find yourself surrounded by your own teammates as well as a Possessed Abomb or two. 

I do try not to gel. Or at least I used to. I've accepted that it's just automatic at this stage, at least for my first two. If I've used two gels before wave 6 I might start to think about mashing x instead if I die again, but I can say with certainty that no one has ever had a chance to revive me on wave 1, despite the frequency with which I die during it.
