Wait? Someone left? Shit. I'm really sorry, guys. I knew I shouldn't have spread the leak around. This is my fault... Please, tell him I wish him well. I don't think it was necessarily you. There is a lot of info flying around right now with little actual confirmation, and that I think contributed a lot to it. Yea, and the dev's silence on this matter isn't helping thing. This is why they should've just ripped off the bandaid and say who the romances were for the squad and tempest crew and their orientations. It would have not spoiled much of the game at all. It's not your fault gaycaravaggio this leak discussion has been building up for a while and people are feeling personally attacked at the potential results...

Then play a dating sim not mass effect. Jeez so this is where all the crazy from old bsn has wound up. Look, dude, it's easy to say that when you're always going to be represented in video games. LGBT players have few options in general, especially among mainstream video games. This has always been something that Bioware utilized to cultivate a certain reputation. Now that they appear to be regressing, it's no wonder a lot of LGBT people are worried, upset, etc. And the reason we're hyperfixated on romances is because the central LGBT characters tend to be the romanceable ones. That's just how it ended up. If you are willing to recommend some games and gaming companies that promise just as much if not more LGBT representation than Bioware, feel free to make some recommendations. If you aren't, then you don't really have a dog in this fight. I still don't understand why they have to be squadmates. I mean DAI proved that non-party member romances can be fully developed ones with a lot of screentime. My favorite (best) LI was/is/will be Tali, yet her romance didn't have nudity (heck we haven't even seen her face - the stock photo doesn't exist for me ) and she missed 2/3 of the ME3. Other than Cora's romance everyone is just guessing the squadmates preferences based on past games and lore (PB). There might be surprises. One can argue about the percentages based on fears and past experiences but it shouldn't affect the anticipation of the game. But I digress. What I'm trying to say is: what if the only gay options are just crew members? Or people on the Nexus/hub worlds? If they have the same level of emotional and content quality as the squadmates does it really matter? The representation is there, the developed character is there, it's a win. Besides the trust system will cause some problem. I can already see the salty straight thread: "my waifu broke up with me because I supported my bro " while the lgb options have a nice and safe domestic romance.

I don't understand why you're acting like we were all saying something we weren't. But I'm done with this. You have this idea and I guess you won't let it go. Because you all chose to sit there and say nothing to the people who told him to "stop complaining" but then suddenly you have the balls to come at me when I tell them to piss off. At least be consistent with your annoying self righteous bs. People "came at you" when you started personally insulting me. It has nothing to do with Prince E and everything to do with you being rude and unpleasant to everyone because you're angry.

A person left the forum and deleted their twitter handle because of this leak discussion. People are taking this seriously. If you aren't then you have nothing to worried about Wait? Someone left? Shit. I'm really sorry, guys. I knew I shouldn't have spread the leak around. This is my fault... Please, tell him I wish him well. Prince E left. I'm hoping he's alright. He was a close friend to me. As for this thing with Knight Enchanter, we just wanted him and the other guy fighting to leave our Jaal thread and argue here, but then we got attacked for that and then our thread was closed temp to clean up that fight.

It's possible, but this mark up would be very disappointing. Not having a romance on the squad is one thing, but only having one out of the entirety of the squad & crew combined when everyone else has three or even four is ridiculously skewed. That said I'm still unconvinced, because I find it very difficult to believe that no-one at Bioware would have pointed this out or realized that this was an issue. And even if worst comes to worst and this is true I can see them getting a huge backlash that will result in them adding more options in DLC and the next Andromeda game. Lmao if BW wants to keep the male gays to a minimum in ME:A that's fine, whatever. But DA4 better be a goddamn sausagefest for the gays. We talkin' DA:I's amount of romances for straight females type of sausagefest. Goddang. sausagefest is a beautiful word, and now my imagination is exploding

Let's change topics...
The devs said that there would be at least one "crush" that would occur. Since it was stated Dr. Lexi has a crush on Drack I'm thinking that's what they were hinting at. Does anyone feel like they meant something different and for what squadmates can you see pairing up? I'm sure Lexi will be an option, and that if you pursue her the crush will be forgotten.

I don't think this will do any good, but I will say it anyway: IF someone are, in your opinion, acting in a way that you feel are insulting and/or nasty, USE THE REPORT BUTTON. Don't try to act as Mods and tell people to behave (I know I'm being ironically by doing this) and create a battle in the thread. the reason we have the Mods are so they can act as middlemen so people don't fight like kids. (Sorry, SofaJockey and the other mods, if this actually works you will get more work.)
Mod comment: hammerstorm, you are dead right. I'm not replying to your post because the thread has moved on, but it's worth dropping a comment under your post. if any poster is being an aggressive ass, a quiet 'report' is the best way to go, if a friendly 'calm down' doesn't do it or would be inappropriate. Quoting a 'bad post' essentially means mods now have 'two' posts requiring action, so a prompt 'report' actually means less work for mods. SofaJockey

Then play a dating sim not mass effect. Jeez so this is where all the crazy from old bsn has wound up. There's not many dating sims that let you fondle alien nuts while having nuts, and then also go space exploring and shoot things. Sorry. Aaaahh, so this is why you want Drack! It would be like juggling.

Just out of curiosity, what's the problem with someone being more interested in the romances than in the story? I think the romances add a lot of interesting content and these games wouldn't be the same without it. Actually I started DA and ME games because of the romances, otherwise I think I wouldn't even have thought of buying them. And I also think it would not be fair if there are no m/m romances so I understand if someone doesn't want to buy the game because of that. There are definitely M/M romances. We just don't know if they are on the squad. Personally, I'm not to fussed about the distinction, so long as the non-squad romances have equal-ish content. I don't really agree with people who claim that BW is somehow regressing for not having a bi/gay male squaddie, because, like I said, I don't get why it makes a difference if they're a squaddie or not (I know why people say they care about the difference, I don't agree with their reasoning either). I'm just going to wait and see how things actually pan out with M/M romances. I'll be very happy if Jaal turns out to be bi, but Gil Brodie has piqued my interest so ... eh . As an aside, I didn't really look forward to Bull or Dorian (STOOOPID moustache) in DA:I, Cassandra was my favourite romance and frankly I really wanted Vivienne.

It's both? And I'm not going to spend 60 dollars if the only thing I'm getting is the space exploration, which I give 0 fucks about. Sorry, I don't really care about sci-fi stuff, but I do care about banging hot dudeliens. I'm much more into high fantasy but high fantasy hasn't really given me the dating sim option lately. Then play a dating sim not mass effect. Jeez so this is where all the crazy from old bsn has wound up. This thread is literally named character romance option confirmations. What do you really expect to find here if not people speaking about romance options?

Yep, many examples in video games where someone wasn't necessarily travelling with the protagonist, but they ran into each other and interacted often. I'm sure it'll be something to that effect at the very least.

Personally, I'm not to fussed about the distinction, so long as the non-squad romances have equal-ish content. Maybe romance content, but overall they will NEVER have as much as squadmates by the virtue of being assigned to 1/2 locations in the game versus squamdates that are created with the entire game in mind. Banter on planets, random reactions during quests etc. It matters and it's why everyone wants their favourite characters to be squadmates because everyone knows they have by far the most content.

Look, the way I see it, if the worst does come to pass, we can bug the devs on twitter about making whoever the gay options are full squadmates next game, and we can talk about how frustrated we are about the results without them going " just trust us and see." Since by the point it's released, we'll know for certain. Like that Gil guy. He's an engineer, right? Well, what's keeping Bioware from making him pick up a gun and use the engineer class? If he's a good character, we'll try as the LGBT fanbase to make him so popular that he'll be elevated to fan favorite status, using that as a springboard to convince the devs he should be made a squadmate in a future title. My point is: there's nothing we can do about the options right now. What's done is done. As LGBT consumers, we need to figure out how to respond to this without falling apart at the seams. We need to be proactive, not just reactive.

I agree with you about the crush Lexi has towards Drack being what they were referring to, since the answer had that as different than characters hooking up. I can see PeeBee hooking up with someone. A couple others may hook up or form relationships with people off the ship too. I hope she is an option. Not only because I like her character, but also she is pretty much the last chance of there being a nonsexual romance among the squad and crew.

I think this is good time to remind myself that I have back-up plan. Kallo is not squadmember so if worst case scenario comes to true with m/m romances, there might be still plan B to fall back to. He has cool name as well, skull and pretty coloring so there is some possibility there.

Have we had confirmation there are M/M romances at all? It'll be frustrating if none with the squad but if they are done properly with non-squadmates that could still be ok. Yep the devs stated many times there are going to be options for M/M M/F F/F
